Wow, how can describe the lengths one has to go to get help by phone from this store? I've had such bad experiences in the past, I wasn't going to use Best Buy, but I couldn't get the right memory card for my camera elsewhere. Bought a new monitor from Best Buy in Springfield. Helped by a very nice fellow. But the help ended there. Package was missing the driver & manual CD that the manufacturer says they ship included. Monitor won't work without the drivers. Store staff on the phone were utterly unhelpful and declined to replace the missing CD, saying the manufacturer was mistaken in saying they ship a CD with driver and manual included. I heard absolutely no interest from staff in working with me to solve the driver problem. "Well, you can always return the item" doesn't build customer loyalty -- or show any interest in the customer getting what they paid the store for: a working product. I called 4 days ago to have my photo's removed off of my desktop because it had crashed. The person i spoke to on the phone told me that it would be a couple hours and id have my photo's back the same day. So i drove over 50 miles for them to remove my photo's. However john the guy that rang me up told me that whomever told me that it was going to take a few hours was wrong and that it wouldn't be ready until today. I took it in yesterday. I called them this morning and come to find out the person that i spoke to refused to give me his name and told me that it will most not likely be done for another 4 days...The geek squad needs to get on the same page with each other and quit telling there customers different days. He helped me with my go pro several times this week while I've been in best buy (it's been having freezing issues, not working etc) anyways after being on the phone with GoPro throughout the day super frustrated and not getting anywhere, I decided to go back to Best Buy and go up to geek squad and see if anyone knew how to use go pros. Do not buy a wireless phone here. I upgraded three phones was told what my bill would be, and the bill came in $50 higher. After hours of trying to have them make it right, Manager will do nothing about it. Bottom line- they cannot do math...Do yourself a favor and buy directly from your wireless providers retail store. read more

I have a couple of experiences with Best buy...neither is great. A couple of weeks before Christmas last year my husband and I went to Best buy to buy a new TV. We are going to blow some money on it. We went and looked at the displays and had questions. We too had to look for someone to help. I found a guy (kid) that worked there. We began with questions and he answered with "Uh", "Ummm" and the ever so helpful "I don't know". Not exactly instilling any confidence in this guy. Well hey Guess what? The guy at Video Only had time to answers our questions, he also took time to find out what we were looking for. So we bought our $3300 TV there. Now my daughter bought me a lap top on Monday. Disappointed that is wasn't in stock but I'm a grown up and could wait a couple of days. To be fair it was labor day, but Andrew guaranteed 2-day delivery. I am pretty sure everyone is aware of how much Best Buy sucks. I don't know if it is just this specific store, or if they all are awful, but my review is based upon 5 years worth of experience at this store. 3 times in my life I have walked in to this store with money to spend, I just wanted a good laptop. Had someone pointed me to the most expensive one and said "buy this", I would have. Unfortunately, I was even given a second glance. My most recent laptop broke due to a faulty hard drive and I was told it would take up to TWO MONTHS to fix. I used my computer for work, I couldn't go with out. Their solution? Just buy a new one... because it's not like I spent $300 on their coverage to prevent this from happening... (sarcasm). Most recently, I came in to buy a printer, again, for work. I had to have one that day, but didn't know where to start. I wandered the isle and a half dedicated to printers for 15 minutes, but was never approached. 4 employees were standing in the middle of the store chatting, but none approaching customers. I finally walked up to one and asked for help. He said "sure, we have a list going, it'll be 10-15 minutes, what's your name?" The rest of the employees scattered. Shockingly he didn't try to sell me anything else. Their is a reason why Best Buy is going under, they suck, the Internet marketplace is ten times better. read more

I have had 2 real bad experiences with Best buy. 1st was when I went to the store to buy a home security system. I had a salesman helping me and another customer came up and asked a question. The salesman then walked away to help that person and left me standing there. After a few minutes, I left the store and bought the system from another retailer. 2nd was a maintenance agreement which I bought with the computer I got from them 2 years ago. I renewed it last year after receiving a letter in the mail from them. I never got the letter this year and it expired. I called them and they tell me that they sent an Email to remind me. I never got this Email as it probably went to my spam folder which I always just delete and never look at. I have bought 2 TV's, 2 Computers, an external hard drive and a few other items. I will NEVER go back to Best Buy and I have and will continue to tell everyone I know and meet about my experiences. read more

The sales person was very busy and had no help, but he took his time with me, answered all my computer and printer question to my satisfaction and gave sound advice when asked. I never felt rushed or that he was hurrying my through the process. read more

My rating is based solely on my visit there today. Nearly everything electronic i own at this point was bought at this store. My previous visits were both helpful and efficient. Today was not like that in any way. After being told that the "associate" would be right back he proceeded to wander aimlessly or assist any and every other customer in the store. I was simply there to buy another phone. NO setup no plan. Just get the phone and go. I spent more than an hour standing in place watching as one by one every other person in the obile section was helped. When i finally had enough and asked the Supervisor, Jackie i believe, for assistance she unknowingly selected the very same guy that had ignored my needs for the past hour+. To top it off this imbecile had the audacity to tell me it was my own fault for not asking for help. I thought they had some sort of check in thing where they took care of the customer and not expected the customer to search out anyone? He then tried to tell me that i told him I would take my time and get whatever i wanted. HMMM how is that when i need a key to get the thing unlocked?? My top was already shaky at best and this guy wanted to argue with me and tell me what i said and what i did??? Fifteen years ago i would have grabbed whatever was handy and tried my best to separarte his head and body. As it is i had to actually walk out in the middle of his diatribe and get in my truck before i did hurt him. The point of this is that the service today was 100% terrible. Rude neglectful unapologetic staff and ignorance in customer service is all i can think to say. In the future i will still shop with this company. However, it will not be at this location and I will do my best to dissuade every person i ever meet at LCC or U of O that they should shop elsewhere. I just spent top dollar for a new IMac. Tho I love the new machine, I'm disgusted with the Best Buy personnel. Turns out my NEW computer had been previously sold, as Apple has it dated having been sold two months earlier. Therefore, instead of getting 90 days Apple support, I lost easily 2-1/2 months of that support. Called Best Buy, asking for something in return for not only the difference between new/used price, but for the 2-1/2 months of lost support value. Basically I was told I was wrong, it was a new computer, and that I couldn't prove otherwise, and that they would NOT call Apple and figure it out. Simply, it was "tough luck and go away" attitude....not a nice way to treat a senior citizen with a checkbook. TLDR at end.. My husband & I went to Best Buy in Springfield,OR a few weeks ago to buy some appliances for our new home. Best Buy was able to deliver sooner than competitors & did price matching, which was great. We applied (and were approved for) the Best Buy credit card so we could get the 10% back in bonus points, which was about $250. This credit card was approved at 25.99% interest with a credit score above 800. Between my husband & I we have a six figure income. When my husband & I went in to pay off the credit card on Friday, August 28, 2015, the front end lead worker/manager informed us we cannot pay with debit card 'for our safety.' They only accept cash or check. The balance on the credit card was above $2,500 (we purchased a fridge, washer, & dryer). This was obviously frustrating since I had previously tried to pay it off online but the website would only accept my full bank account information (account # & routing #). I used to work at a bank. Exposing my account information is far more risky than my debit card, which can be easily cancelled. I went back the next day with a cashiers check, which is guaranteed funds, same as cash. The cashier had to call 2 managers (including the gentleman who had 'helped' me the day before) because she wasn't sure if she should process the cashiers check as cash or check. She was then told she needed to contact my bank to guarantee funds & the validity of the check, again, for 'my' safety. I asked what would happen when the bank wouldn't verify due to confidentiality (I used to work there, they won't.); I was again told it was for my safety, yet they would accept a personal check without any of these hoops. Needless to say, they were unable to verify my cashiers check & were unable to process it. When I asked why they were able to take a personal check (which the cashier explained is processed as an electronic funds transfer) and not my debit card (also an electronic funds transfer), I was told it was due to 'system limitations.' Worrisome, considering this is a company which deals in technology. This experience has ruined any chance Best Buy had of keeping my husband's & my business. They have made it nearly impossible for us to pay our bill without giving all sorts of personal information (ie: full acct & routing #) and my guess is so they can begin charging the exorbitant amount of interest should I not be able to make 3 trips to the bank in a week. Sorry, Best Buy; I work full time as does my husband, which is how we can afford to spend almost $3,000 at your store. I will be coming back with the balance owed in cash, then closing the card & not shopping there again. We were planning on buying a new dishwasher, ps2, and $350 printer at Best Buy, but we will be shopping elsewhere. tldr: Can't make credit card payment w/ anything but cash or personal check. i have to travel 120 miles round trip to this best buy the closest near me and i expect to find things in stock. but everytime i go and the thing i want is out of stock like they need to replace and keep in stock popular items those things that sale quickly. i know i can have it ordered and sent to the store or my home but that is not the point. i like to see things in person like examine the product. i am recalling this store to the name of best buy lack of restocking. i am tired of it. first the service was bad like none to speak of that got better though still bad. read more

I bought a Samsung TV, Denon receiver and Sony Blue Ray player less than 2 years ago from Best Buy. The TV stopped working and after many hours on the phone I finally was able to schedule someone to fix it. After the tech left, the TV worked but nothing else works. Many more hours on the phone and someone came back out, said the TV is fine but the receiver needs to be reprogrammed. So many more hours on the phone and now I have to wait for several more days (I've been dealing with this for a month) for someone to call me back to schedule yet another repair person to come out. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I will never purchase anything from Best Buy again. read more

Purchased a MacBook Pro from the Best Buy in Springfield in August 2013 for my son to take to college. Purchased a Geek Squad plan for 1 year at the same time. Computer crashed in July of this year (2014), took it into Geek Squad, where they repaired a cable that connects to the hard drive. 4 months later, computer crashes again, with the same problem. Geek squad repairs are only guaranteed for 1 MONTH. Took the computer to Apple this time and Apple indicates it was shoddy work as to the reason why it broke again. Called and discussed with store manager Laura who told me there was nothing she was willing to do for us. Cost of the repair through Apple is now $160. Not good customer service considering I spent close to $5K on appliances in that store this year as well. Won't ever be purchasing another item there or from Best Buy. Adios! read more

First off the Geek squad gets 5 stars the sales person in computers would get 0 if I could I went to the geek squad first to have my mothers computer looked at they were prompt answered all my questions and fixed my problem . were great. I decided I wanted a small notebook computer that I could connect with a usb cord most tablets do not use them. Finally found them stood there waiting several minutes while 3 employees stood less than 7 feet from me chatting . Finally one came over I asked him what the difference was on two of the compters that had what appeared to be identical features. all he could tell me was they were by two different companies . Well DUH I could read that. so I asked him if he could take the heavy security device off of one of them so I could feel how much it weighed and he refused to do it asked if I could see one from the box and he refused did not say why just a flat NO. I find that rude Did He think I was going to make a mad dash from the back of the store to the front with it. will not shop there again this is the second time I have got a "sales professional" that knew nothing read more
