Well my experience with them was not good. My new dishwasher was supposed to be delivered between 8 and 10 am this morning. I paid for delivery and haul away of old dishwasher. My old dishwasher was still working, but was making a lot of noise and was slowly dying. I removed my old dishwasher last night and had it sitting in my kitchen ready to be hauled away. At 8:15 am they called me and told me they accidentally sold my dishwasher to another customer, and now the don't have anymore. They apologized and said they might be able to deliver different in stock model soon if I wanted to change my order. I asked if soon, meant today. The sales person said probably not. We drove to their store, and looked at the other comparable dishwashers, but they all had features my wife did not like. So we asked how long to get another one of same model we had ordered. They said 1.5 to 2 weeks. I said, that since I didnt want to go 2 weeks without a dishwasher, I would have to re-install my old dying dishwasher and then remove it again in 2 weeks. What a PITA. I then asked for free delivery, install and haul away, since their F'up was costing a lot time and effort. The salesperson went to see if management would okay this request. Management did not. The best they would do was knock about $100 off their fees. I then canceled the order, and ordered from HD. With delivery and haul away included, it was about $60 less than Stover. Plus I could get it in 3 days. So, we got the model we wanted for less money and a much sooner delivery. So I'm not impressed with Stover's customer service, or really doing anything helpful after such a monumental F'up. I was specifically going with a local business because I thought they would have better customer service. I am very disappointed. read more

These folks are knowledgeable, and actively want to help you make an informed decision by understanding your needs. I have been consistently impressed by their willingness to find out anything for you that they can't answer. I purchased a new Speed Queen TC5 series washer and dryer set several months ago. My washing machine is not working. I have called multiple times and left a message, but haven't heard back. I don't understand why you don't hire more people if you are so busy all the time. I had this same problem when I purchased my Speed Queen washer and dryer several months ago. No one answers the phone! UPDATE: So the owner calls me to chew me out for the above review and threatens to not honor their product warranty if i don't change my review. He was very aggressive and rude, talking over the top of me, and says they are just too busy to answer the phones. Then he went on to chastise me and tell me that my frustration is unwarranted. All I have done is truthfully express how frustrating it is to call over and over again and never have anyone answer the phone. This time, I did get a call back a day after I finally left a message, but that was after days of trying to get through to a person. Stover, Evy and Jackson can run their business any way they like, but I will not be a customer of theirs. On a brighter note, the tech(Cail McBryde) that actually showed up this morning to repair my Speed Queen washer was great. He was personable, and easy to work with and he was able to the issue with my TC5 washer quickly. The mother board was actually fine. It turns out the outlet that my washer is plugged into is what is having the issue. I do love my Speed Queen washer and dryer and I am glad I went with the old school TC5 model. There was an issue with my Speen Queen dryer where is was not rotating properly due to a "roller" that needed replacing. The tech took care of it without issue. I did bump my review up a couple of stars due to the tech that came out to do the work. He deserves 5 stars personally. Hopefully, this will be the last time I need repair service for my Speen Queen washer or dryer. I certainly don't want to be chastised by the owner about their ability to answer the phones. I recommend anyone to call Stover, Evy and Jackson and see if they actually get a person on the phone. If they are too busy to answer the phone, you would think they could hire additional help? Makes no sense to me, but if it works for them so be it. I will spend my money somewhere else. read more

I am a homeowner and have a rental here in Corvallis. I have been going to Stover Evey and Jackson for about 8 years now, and I keep going back because I have such great experiences. I've found the staff to be incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and helpful for all of my appliance needs. I'm a part time DIYer and full time dad and worker. Sometimes I go in for parts and advice and sometimes for new machines. I recently had a squeaky dryer that I've already fixed previously. I went in to buy a new dryer, learned that they also sell refurbished dryers, and after talking with the staff I decided to bring my dryer in to have them repair it. This is normally something I would do myself, but I just didn't have the extra half a day to take my dryer apart, find the parts I need, order them, and put it back together. They helped me unload it. They did the standard troubleshooting, installed new rollers and a belt, and charged me very reasonable prices for the parts and labor. They got it fixed in 2 days and helped me reload it when I went to pick it up. I love this shop, and I'm glad it is part of my community. I will keep going here. read more

My 25 year old Frigidaire gas stove's oven would not heat up. I went to Stover, Evey & Jackson to seek advice on the best option I had to resolve my problem. Felix researched details of my unit and referred me to their repair department. We agreed that the best action was for their tech to trouble shoot my unit. The next day, Adam (their tech) came to my home to look at my unit. He immediately knew that the unit's igniter was the problem. And better yet, Adam already brought with him a new igniter unit. Apparently, he researched my unit before going to my house. Adam completed the repair in a few minutes. He was courteous, professional and thorough in his repair. He cleaned up after his work. Overall, my wife and I were both satisfied with the service rendered by Stover, Evey & Jackson. They exceeded our expectations. read more

If you're a landlord looking for laundry service in your units, be aware that getting service from Stover, Evey and Jackson will reduce the value of your property and scare away good tenants. I've lived in multiple units serviced by Stover, Evey and Jackson over the course of eight years, and unfortunately have nothing good to report. The machines seem to be very old and break down all the time. They take a week to repair it, even if you call them every day. Nobody can do laundry in the meantime. I can't tel you how many times I've had to drive to the laundromat over the past eight years because of their machines being in such a sad state of neglect and disrepair. read more

If I were looser with my five star ratings, I would surely give one. But those are really rare. Also, it's actually a good thing I don't have to do business at an appliance store very often because.... they sure are expensive. All my home appliances in the last 20 years have come from Stover, Evey, & Jackson. Yes, I pay a little bit more than if I went to that big box store, but here at this local shop, I get personalized attention. At the big box store staff, if you can find them, generally aren't that well informed. Well, as life would have it, I needed to replace an appliance. I almost decided to work with the big box as my wallet is thin. But I figured I would stop in to see if I could afford a little extra to keep my money circulating in my local economy. To my surprise, the staff didn't try to sell me a new appliance. They kindly told me that mine could be repaired for a fraction of the cost of replacement. This also kept an otherwise perfectly good appliance from going to the scrap metal pile. The staff even gave me a tutorial about how to do the repair. When the time comes, I will spend the extra money to buy local. I hope you consider it, too. read more

We recently bought a GE stacking washer/dryer from Stover and Jackson. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the price was excellent (better than a big box store). However we ran into trouble with the installation. The installer neglected to turn on the water to the washer when he installed it, and, since the unit is in a cabinet, we were unaware of the cause of the problem until we got the GE tech out to fix it a couple weeks later. Stover and Jackson clarify that their installers are not responsible for anything that happens beyond the unit itself, so when the dryer stopped drying, we found ourselves diagnosing and fixing the problem ourselves. The problem was not related to the unit, but involved something the installers would instantly have caught if they had paid attention to anything beyond the unit itself. I suspect there are legal issues involved with installation that force Stover and Jackson to use this policy, however, my STRONG advice: buy the appliance from Stover and Jackson- supporting local business - but hire your own installer. read more

I'm not from Corvallis, but found myself here when my wife called and said our refrigerator died back home and we knew based on its history we would not repair it this time. Time for a new fridge......Of course I wanted to see some before I just called an appliance store back home, so with a couple hours to kill I stopped in here. I didn't want to waste their time so I told them my story and said I just wanted to peek around at their showroom and didn't need help. They were super welcoming and helped me anyways. They looked up specs, told me what they knew about the models I was looking at, and even made a recommendation of a trick we could try on our broken fridge to buy us some time. I should add that I was impressed with their showroom. They have way more installed and on display than I anticipated. If I lived here, they would have earned my business for sure. read more

After this on a separate incident we called about ordering a part for our dishwasher, again no return phone call. I recently bought a used washing machine and dryer from these folks. After using the washing machine for a few months, it began to leak grease into the tub and onto some of my clothes. At first I thought it was just some of the laundry as I've been doing home renovation and some of the clothes were getting grungy. Turned out, it was grease from the washer transmission leaking into the tub. The seal had failed, which is an indication that the transmission has failed. The machine was sold with a 90-day warranty and I'd just passed that by a few weeks. I spoke with the store's staff and explained that I hadn't had the machine long before it failed, and even more frustrating was the fact that it failed just as the warranty ended. The staff understood my frustration and put me in touch with Bob in the repair shop who confirmed that the machine's transmission had failed and there was no repairing it. He then went on to say that they would replace the washer with another used machine of equal or greater value which was a huge relief to me. It was a demonstration of the kind of integrity and good faith that, in my opinion, is in short supply these days. I picked out another used unit and within two days, it was delivered. This experience helped me understand why Stover, Evey and Jackson has been in business for as long as it has. They operate with integrity and strive to do the right thing for their customers. I know I will start here when it comes time to purchase new appliances. read more

We have bought 2 refrigerators and 1 dishwasher from them in the past 15 years. All of them have had weird problems; the first refrigerator needed work within a month, requiring extra money. The second refrigerator---the shelves fall out at random times. The dishwasher, a spendy Bosch, after a few years, does not start properly---it takes 5 minutes of cajooling, messing around with the controls, and a few prayers. We've had great service on multiple occasions. I decided to write a review based on the most recent one. Our dryer wasn't heating but still turned the clothes. We watched YouTube videos and attempted to clean it. After a few hours of failed attempted I called Stover Evey & Jackson. They literally are talked me through how to trouble shoot, spent way more time on the phone with me than I deserved and helped us fix it. I called SEJ to repair a 2 year old Electrolux cooktop that I purchased elsewhere, because I try to support local business whenever possible. The woman I spoke with gathered information from me on the problem, model #, etc. I told them it was not under warranty. Their next appointment was 2 weeks out, falling 2 days before Thanksgiving. I was concerned about the timing, but agreed to the appointment. 30 minutes before my appointment (which I took off work for) I got a call from the repairman asking me for the serial number. I gave it to him and got a call back 30 minutes later (coincidentally, the appointment time) and he advised me they do not do warranty work. I told him I had explained when I set the appointment that I called Electrolux and it was not under warranty. He said he "guessed" he could come out and take a look, but would have to order any parts. I expressed my frustration at the lack of customer service and his response was as if he couldn't care less. No apology or acceptance of any responsibility AT ALL. All of our appliances are top of the line, however, when it comes time to replace any of them, I will never take a chance by purchasing from this business. read more

BUT, once I purchased our large appliance I thought I would get more help for the delivery crew as the sales staff had mentioned. Sales group mentioned that delivery guys would do all the set up and give a quick run through on the appliance but not so. The delivery guys had no personality and did not say anything unless you directly asked them. In the set up and delivery process some appliance parts did not even get finished putting it all together. I have bought many appliances and been a supporter of this local business for a long time and I still will but disappointed on the end of the process when as a customer you should be so excited to learn about your new expensive purchase. #CorvSMB read more

Went there today based on a co-worker recommendation in regards to their service. My 9-year old hi-efficiency washing machine locked up this morning and I was preparing to buy a new one. I spoke at length to Felix Sterling and he walked me through potential fixes, and if the fixes wouldn't work, a service call would be scheduled. Well the fixes did work and now my unit is again working perfectly! I also got a price on a similar new unit if the fixes and service call didn't work. The price quoted was totally competitive with both Home Depot and Lowe's prices. Next appliance I need to buy will be from these wonderful people! read more

Here you get knowledgeable customer service, good products, and a service/repair department that can sell you parts and provide advice or come to your location and perform the needed repairs. We've lived in Corvallis over 40 years, had 3 different homes, each requiring appliances and we've bought almost all of them here. I recently needed a part to repair a washing machine, and it was more urgent than one might think because we had company coming. It was near closing time on Saturday, and they went out of their way to located the part for me. This is just one of many reasons to support a locally owned store. read more

We started looking at Home Depot, then I decided I would support a local business by going to Stover. Turns out to be a huge mistake. The washing machine we bought my wife absolutely hates, and has complained about it every time she uses it. "See, look at this" At 2 weeks into owning this dog, I went into the store and spoke with them about this, and asked if I could return it, and buy a higher priced model. I was told no. I wasn't asking for my money back (tho I could have so easily gotten a FULL refund from Home Depot had I bought there), just credit on a higher priced model. The answer was no, we don't do any returns. (read as: you're stuck with it) So I don't know how many years I get to hear how much that machine sucks, thanks to their lack of decent service. Huge mistake I made buying there. Better keep this in mind if you decide to "buy local". I don't particularly like supporting big box stores, but the above experience shows me why they are killing smaller stores. read more

They have great brands, wonderful sales people and the best service in Corvallis. A few years ago we bought an LG dishwasher from the local big box store. The LG didn't clean the dishes, molded and took two weeks longer than expected to be delivered. The LG had to go and we were not going to return to the big box store. So we went to Stover, Evey and Jackson. The sales and service was exceptional. We ended up buying a Bosch and LOVE it. During the installation they discovered a leaky part of a water pipe that was connected to our house. The replaced the leaky part for free and made sure all was well. We plan to buy all our future appliances from them in the future. read more

I ordered it online and installed it myself for way cheaper like they recommended. I'm from the lower income part of my home city so I'm used to businesses trying to take advantage of me. We bought a Whirlpool refrigerator from Stover, Evey, and Jackson, and it has been a terrible product from day one. The ice maker regularly spits out cubes onto our wood floor. Called them several times to complain, and, though they sent a service rep out, he said he couldn't fix it. Spoke to the manager/owner on a couple of occasions, but he said Whirlpool wouldn't do anything, so neither could he. So I'm done with both Whirlpool and Stover Evey. They combined to stick me with a deficient $1,000 plus piece of equipment. A pox on both their houses. read more

Had an issue needed help with so I called to ask for parts and they called back and left a message about them. Instead of throwing parts at the machine, I decided to take a photo and bring it directly to the store for advice. When I arrived, an arrogant sales person asked why did I not call instead of coming in. I told him I thought it would be best to ask in person. He said I should have called and that the tech rep was on the phone with another costumer and would be with me in a half hour or more. These people were horribly rude and non customer friendly. As a result I will no longer be a customer of theirs. FYI, I have spent a few thousand dollars at this place over the last 10 years. In the end I went online and with the help of a chat tech support, I found the parts and help I needed. Also it cost me about 100 less in than what I would have paid at this place. This is a small town store surviving on the virtue of being the last local independent. They provide a nice showroom experience but their after-sale support is poor to non-existent. They don't have a working follow-up process in place so you're left checking on progress and providing reminders. The techs are good when you manage to contact one and the appliance delivery people are good, but everything not fixed with a wrench has to go up the chain where it dies until your next call. read more

Moved outside their normal service area, but they were more than helpful on the phone talking me through my repair. I only had to go one step further than I already had, but their encouragement and instruction got me there, but cost them a sale. My dishwasher works again as good as new. They definitely are the most friendly and helpful people and doing business with them does make the little problems of life so much more bearable. read more

I bought a gas stove from this business for a house I own in Corvallis that is currently rented. They were terrific. After a different local appliance store would not return my calls, Emily from Stover Evey and Jackson was very prompt in getting back to me and suggesting a reasonably priced mid-range appliance. I price checked on the Internet, and their price was competitive. Also they worked with me to solve some logistical and timing issues, and also worked closely with the contractor that had run the gas line for the stove so it could be installed and work.
