My wife and I have been ordering take-out here for a while whenever we're short on time. We've always been impressed by the General Tso given how expedient they have things ready and how reasonable the prices are. Last night was the first time we actually went and ate our meal there, and we were surprised to discover that the food was even better than we were used to. I ordered a large order and only 4 items were ready when I got there and there was no trail of the other items I had ordered which was repeated back to me correctly in the phone. I waited for the other part of the order to be completed and when I got home I only had 1 of 4 crab rangoons, no veggie lo-mein (it had chicken and pork in it) and no veggie fried rice (it had shrimp in it). I also had egg rolls in my order and I never ordered them. I repeated my order many times to the younger girl too. Doesn't seem like she was attentive to the order and I obviously had been given someone else's order. The 4 main meals were cooked well and no complaints there. Best China is perfect for if you're craving Chinese food but are worried about time. The service is great and fast. One day I ordered a shrimp lomein and I got it within 10 minutes of ordering. We ordered last night for take out ---- they said it would be ready in 30 minutes - get there and it is 15 more minutes --- get home and the chicken was not cooked -- and the fruit of the sea order was horrible -- the scallops were not cooked - the shrimp was pink on one side and slimy --- hot and sour soup had layer of grease on it ---- we dumped the food in the trash--- $33 down the drain....... read more

Hot and sour soup is my favorite soup as far as the soups they offer. I have been eating their soup for years. Well, this time the soup was horrible. I could not eat even with rice and noodles in it. They added some kind of spice or sauce which made it more of a red color than the normal brown color. Had the same experience with same kind of soup in Belmont NC. Maybe the cook in Belmont went to Best China. Because of the terrible soup, I will not order from Best China again. read more

Rude...Rude...RUDE!!!! The young girl that works the front desk is incredibly rude. The eye rolling, the tone of voice, the lack of interest, the way she answers that phone...she has the nastiest personality of anyone working with the public that I have encountered in a very long time. The food is good but not great, definitely not worth the drama of dealing with her. Do yourself a favor...drive a few miles down the road and get something else...anything else....Kochi...Italian Garden....Taco Bell....truly ANYTHING other than dealing with her. read more

This place is horrible. My husband and I asked for hot tea and they must have brewed it this morning. It was darker than coffee and not drinkable. We have given this place a few tries and after tonight we are done. They seem to charge different prices than what their menu states because each time we ordered the same thing and they charged us different prices. You point out the price on the menu and there is some excuse as to why the prices dont match. We gave up and will never be back! read more

Calling this place a Chinese restaurant is like calling Domino's an Italian Restaurant. We went to this place about four years ago. The meal was miserably terrible. Decided to try again and the meal reads like a Hollywood movie. AKA the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The single Egg roll was Good. Most likely they are purchased in bulk, fried and done. Kinda hard to ruin. The Bad... Wanton Soup. The broth was basically fine, but come one, the wantons are nothing more than boiled dough with no meat or filling of any sort. Last time we had the same soup. This time I was able to finish the broth but the wantons are flavorless. The Ugly...ordered the scallion spicy chicken. I knew the dish was fried and it did contain scallions....but I swear if the dish were taken to lab there is no scientific means by wish they would find trace amounts of chicken. I attempted to eat around 10 pieces and fished around for the largest chunks....nothing, nada -zilch. More dough in a think oily blech of a sauce but ZERO detectable chicken. I took the whole enchilada and tossed in the trash. There is bad and then there is bad, but when the Fortune Cookies says "get ready for a crappy meal" one knows the're in trouble. Two block away is the Japanese take out place that uses fresh carrots and white meat chicken. For 1/2 the price could have had a fresh plate of teriyaki chicken with vegetables and rice and would have been able to the items on my plate. I hate to bash a restaurant and I know many probably like this place a lot. But of the two times I have been there, the food is just a notch above edible and close by there are far more flavorful and healthy choices for 1/2 the price.. read more

Super happy with their take out service. It's always ready in 15-20 mins no matter how big my order. They always accommodate our requests & the portion sizes are great! A little more expensive than what we used to pay in another state, but it's good quality food, that is made fresh & fast so I can't complain. read more

Just yuck. We are new here and trying out the local food. This was one of the worst Chinese restaurants we've ever eaten food from. The only good thing was portion size, but for almost $10 a meal, you'd expect a decent portion size. Egg drop and sweet and sour soup were both tasteless. They were salty, but lacked any other flavor. The wontons for the soup were dark and over cooked. They tasted burnt. Sesame chicken had too much sauce and too much dark meat chicken...gross. Chicken and broccoli was sub par. Lots of tasteless brown sauce, literally it tasted like nothing. The chicken was spongy in texture and again tasteless. The chow mein was a bowl of mush...disgusting, tasteless mush. We won't be back or recommend this place to anyone. read more

Compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area I would say this is #1. It isn't fancy or big. I normally order to-go dinners and the food is always hot & fresh and my order is correct. The portions are so large I normally get 3 meals out of it! read more

This place is amazing for fast food Chinese. A little pricey - but the portions are huge! You definitely get what you pay for. The staff is always very friendly and service is quick. I understand that right now with the coronavirus we are going threw a pandemic! But when I call and order a Pu Pu Platter( it comes with 2 spring rolls, 4 fried chicken wings, 2 carb rangoons, 2 fried jumbo shrimp, and 2 teriyaki chicken) and I get there to pick up my order and it's just 2 small chicken drums( I've been before and it's suppose to be a drum and wing that's still together), I told the lady it suppose to come with 4 whole chicken wings and she told me that had to cut back because of the pandemic. With that said I was like okay bc I was already aggravated. And the price was still the same as if I got 4 whole chicken wings. So i call back and ordered an order of chicken wings witch is suppose to be 7 bc that's all they come in is 7 and i asked the lady on the phone e if these were whole chicken wings and she said yes. So I get there and ask her again before paying if its 7 whole wings and not drums she said yes, so I pay and get them and its 2 drums and 3 wings. So i told her it wasnt right and she went to the lady that ran the store i guess and again shes trying to tell me they had to cut back on chicken bc of pandemic. I was so frustrated with her not understanding me that I walked out. So just letting yall know your not going to get your money's worth with the pu pu platter bc you will only get 2 half pieces or the order of 7 fried chicken wings bc you will only get 5 half pieces for the same price!!!!! Where to start. Just left there. Ordered Egg Foo Young with fried rice. No fried rice 3 small pieces of Egg Foo Young and gravy which was as black as motor oil and tasted terrible for $11.95 Double the price of other places. . I am in no way pleased with this place over the last several visits. I have been to this location on multiple visits as I'm new to the Lake Wylie area. Visit 1 was great then from there it was down hill. I initially went in alone for lunch and the meal was great. In the excitement on my next visit I told my fiancee about this place so we went together for lunch and to no avail she found "hair" in her food. They replaced the meal but she of course would not eat it because of her experience that particular day. As time had went by she's been going in for a meal here and there and loves the food and she always and I mean always orders the same meal and nothing different and the total is always $10.95 including tax. On another occasion we went together for dinner and almost paid $40 for a dinner meal. I was in shock at the pricing difference from lunch to dinner as we both order our common meals. So the price increase was ridiculous to the both of us. Now, we've been to the restaurant on many occasions there after because of the close proximity to our residence and frankly we like the food minus the hair. On another occasion my fiancee ordered an egg roll to go and when she got home it had shrimp in it. One problem, she nut and seafood allergic and she tells "Every" restaurant this information upon ordering. Luckily she bit into the egg roll and realized immediately that the was shrimp in it and was able to discharge the mouthful. So that would be episode #2. Now last night we go to the restaurant and enjoyed our meal there were a total of "4" diners at "1" table and the gentleman that was paying for all 4 meals was brought his check and then got the attention of the waitress that he only wanted to pay a set amount and then she modified his bill and I overheard his conversation with his fellow friends / companions that his billing was only $28.35 for "4" people. And there was "No" coupon. So nevertheless the less my fiancee and I are couponers. So she was on her last visit given a coupon which had a Buy one meal, get the second meal free of equal or lesser value. So when the check arrived our bill was $28.95 for "2" people. So naturally we're like WTH? So when paying the billing we inquired how could the final billing before the discount be some much. My meal was $11.50, my fiancée meal is always $10.95 as I stated before, our pepsi and sprite drinks were supposedly $3.00 each. Yet when paying this time he tells my fiancee that her meal is usually $9.95 and that's what was discounted off the billing instead of $10.95. Now we're both like that's not the full coupon discounted amount and the lady in front if us in line just came into the restaurant and bought "2" soda drinks for a total of $3.00. Yet he wanted to disagree and naturally we're like it seems that you're just making your own pricing on us. I paid the billing and I know I'll not be returning here for a meal. They try their best to make up designated coupon discount amounts in marked up prices, yet when a table of "4" comes in and gets full dinner priced meals, can negotiate a final pricing and then pay damn near the same amount as "2" items with a coupon them that's a big problem.
