This is my second time boarding Remi here as soon as I walked in the door with her she was so excited to see the staff. It just really shows the amazing treatment they give my sweet girl. Previous boarding facilities I would use would have small kennels that would leave me feeling guilty... not here!! , Here she gets her own air conditioned suit and little yard! it's more like I'm dropping her off at summer camp and I know she's gonna have a ball! The facilities are stunning, clean and they even have a pool. I will never board anywhere else. The staff is so friendly, and I know my Remi has so much fun while I'm away. We were very worried about leaving our rescue pup while we were away, but the staff at Best Friends Too took great care of her! The dogs are not crated, which we loved because our dog has never been crated. Each dog has their own room or "condo" , each with a cot, window, door, their own porch & little yard . They know how to care for anxious dogs like her, and are so kind and reassuring. They gave her extra attention, and even got her some cooked hamburger patties to stimulate her appetite when she wasn't eating well at first. We got text and photo updates which we so appreciated! When we picked her up she was happily accompanying one of their staff, and acting like her usual self. Highly recommended these folks! read more

Boarded our pup here while were at a nearby campground. She came back very content , relaxed and tired. Each dog has their own space to be, plus and open area in the center for regular exercise. In town there are other options, but in many cases they expect the dog to stay in a kennel some of the time. Our dog is very anxious, and those situations usually ended up with a cut on the paw or requests that we sedate her next time. No injuries when we picked her up - and she was content and happy. read more

How are there no reviews for this place? It is TREMENDOUS!! We were really in a pinch over the Holidays. We unexpectedly needed to go out of town, and our usual kennel of choice (Stay n Play) was booked far in advance. Luckily, Best Friends Boarding, Too had an opening. On the phone the woman I spoke with was very kind and informative. When we dropped our dog off, they gave us a tour of the facility, and let my husband take our four year old in the yard to say goodbye. He was able to see his pet wagging her tail in the beautiful yard and he was relieved. He espescially liked the idea that she might take a swim in the bone-shaped pool! While we were on our trip they emailed us photos of our dog with nice messages to update us on her great visit. She looked happy in all the pictures and we felt very comfortable knowing she was being cared for by people who clearly knew who she was, instead of just a number in a kennel. Her condo was awesome - like her own little log cabin of sorts with a little sidewalk and yard. The play yards are green and clean, and planty big enough. The whole facility was spotless, and the main office/lobby felt like checking in to a resort. We felt that the prices were spot-on reasonable. She was groomed before we collected her and she smelled great for weeks. Not offensive, just clean and snuggle-able. What else can I tell you - this kennel is awesome! We were happy with the cleanliness of the condos and our 90-lb Lab seemed to do ok while he was here. He's a handful as he has some anxiety/socialization issues, but I didn't have any reason to think that he didn't get good care while he was at Best Friends Boarding Too. This place is fantastic. Simply put, we will not board our "kids" anywhere else ever again. We had always boarded our "kids" at the vet, and they were really good, but this place raises the bar. We boarded all three, Sam -70 pound mut, Max- 50 pound blue healer, and Duke- 95 pound catahoula/great dane mix. They had no problem with big dogs at all. Sam, as sad as it is has a separation issue, gets sick when he is not around us, but here, he required no meds. did i mention they have a pool for the dogs? the only down thing is the really need to update their website cause all the pics are during construction. the place is really amazing now. read more

As someone who has worked at dog training and boarding facilities, my expectations are very high. I also drive over an hour from my home to bring my dogs to Best Friends Boarding Too, because I truly believe this is the best boarding facility in central Texas. Disappointed! What we thought was a Professional place of business has failed. We used them for daycare to see if it was a place we felt comfortable bringing our three dogs for vacation, this time was ok. We then decided to leave our three dogs for a week while we went on vacation. I prepared all food and feeding directions verbally and labeled on food container, they under fed our dogs by half all week! Our poor dogs had been UNDER FED because they clearly could not follow directions or read the labeled container each and every time they proceeded to "feed" our dogs, blaming it on the computer system??. I wonder if they would under feed their own dogs??? I WILL NOT USE THIS BUSINESS AGAIN!! read more

The owners genuinly love animals and have a passion for offering the best care for your pet. The newly built beautiful property has a variety of different accomodations for your pet and the prices are very affordable too. I typically book the private cabin for my dog Scotty with his own yard and pool play time. We love our little dog and we would not leave him just anywhere. We board our Pomeranian here everytime we need to go out of town. We trust them with him, and he always seems to be happy. I have my doubts with this facility. My dog used to do daycare and boarding at another place and always seemed happy afterwards. Twice now, I've seen my dog go crazy when someone actually goes into his "room" to get him when I pick him up. Then he gets anxious when he sees me rather than his normal happiness. We packed him with his own bed which was given back to me with his name on it. To me, that means he didn't get his bed. We packed him with treats and came home with almost all of them. As soon as we got home, he went to the bathroom (after a very short drive) and drank a full bowl of water. I feel like the staff is very unsociable and I get a weird vibe. Needless to say, I don't plan on taking him back. read more

I am new to Austin and had no clue where to bring my labradoodle Oliver for boarding. Best Friends Boarding Too came highly recommended to me, so I thought that I would give it a shot. I can't tell you enough how happy I am with that decision. Kimberly, the owner, is extremely hands on and cares about your pet, her staff, and the property. From the dog-bone shaped pool to the bark yard, everything about this place is top notch. As for the accommodations... Well, I felt like I was dropping Oliver off at college. He had his own "condo" with a front door, lawn, and even art on the walls. I can tell he enjoys his stay there, he always comes home healthy and happy. I have been using the grooming services at Best Friends for about 3 years. A dog found my husband at the lake and her fur was extremely matted and overgrown. I took her to Best Friends and they did a fantastic job. Being a stray, she had some behavioral "issues" but this has not deterred the kind people at Best Friends. I have consistently used their services and have always been pleased. Jenna has always been so kind and loving to our dog. She is the BEST! I have also used the boarding services at the Rosanky location for one of our bigger dogs and was very pleased with their services. read more

We used the Doggie Day Care services at this location while attending a weekend event at the nearby Hyatt Resort. Our 2 Shih Tzus loved coming every day and eagerly ran in the front door. I absolutely LOVE Best Friends--both locations! I searched for places high and low to board my pup (German Shorthaired Pointer) in Round Rock and no place had GRASSY yards for dogs to play! I am appalled at the idea of boarding a dog in a cement cell and having "play time" in indoor play yards... That's where Best Friends comes in. Grassy yards, CABINS, ALL OUTDOORS!!! Being a Bastrop native my parents have boarded their dogs for years at Best Friends and I find it the only place that gives my dog more than what I pay for him to stay. I make the drive out to the Cedar Creek location from Round Rock...it is beyond worth it!! Also absolutely noteworthy: When the Bastrop fires started (my dog was boarded) Best Friends took on as many animals as they could to help those evacuating their homes. Operation overload. I called that Monday morning at 3 am (to leave a message that I'd pick up my dog to free up space) and someone answered! They were NOT leaving the animals unattended. The Cedar Creek location was later evacuated due to the Union Chapel fire and in talking to Dawn later, authorities told her she had no time to evacuate the animals. Dawn cares for all of the animals like they were her own and she and her crew managed to get all of the animals evacuated and off to the Rosanky location. I don't know how they did it but God Bless Best Friends and their ability to save all of the animals! I boarded my pup once again after the fires and was amazed at the amount of pups they are keeping for people who lost their homes. Only place I know that cares about each animal like they were their own. :) I recommend Best Friends to everyone!! read more

We have been taking our german shepperd to best friends to get groomed for the last few years. Our dog LOVES this place! He is so excited when he gets out of the car to walk into Best Friends - wagging his tail the entire time. Easy drop off - he gladly walks off with the staff like he's going on a fun vacation or something. The staff is friendly and professional and most importantly- this is my dogs favorite place to go. I asked if I could pick up my 2 small dogs on Sunday afternoon. The answer was yes but that I needed to pick them up by 4:00 p.m. We arrived at 1:00. No one was in the lobby but we could see 3 people in the play area outside. One of the ladies came when she saw us. She was rude. She was upset that we had not called to say we were picking them up. She went on to say that we were lucky that the door was not locked. . . . blah, blah, blah. I told her that I was sorry but no one had told me that I needed to call. . . . only that I needed to pick them up by 4:00 o'clock, but she continued to rant. This was the first time I had used Best Friends, so I asked if I could see the facility. She said "no". Up until this point I had planned to board my two puppies again for ten days beginning the following week and just wanted to see where I was leaving them. My husband had been listening to the conversation and he walked out to the car (upset) because he said if he had stayed that he would have said something that would not have been very nice. She eventually, and reluctantly, let me see where my puppies had spent their time. Also, I was able to retrieve one of my puppies toys that had been left behind. Maybe they took good care of my two dogs while I was gone for a couple of days and maybe not; I don't know. But based on this woman's attitude, I won't be going back. read more

Best Friends is the best! I always feel confident when I leave my bestie Sherman here! And the grooming staff really impressed me. I had a vet tell me my 8 year old mastif mix would have to be fully sedated to be able to Dremel his claws, and she fixed him up in a few sessions. All the boarded dogs were happy and playing in fenced areas while being supervised. The pricing is very affordable. The staff was very nice and attentive to me and my dog. We boarded our three and then two dogs here mostly for doggie day care for about 8 months when we were without a yard. At first we loved it, we thought our guys were being well taken care of and loved. As the months went on, one of our dogs suffered bloat at home and was recuperating from surgery. Unfortunately I still had to go to work since it was a new job so he had to go to day care. I left food and meds for him to be given during the day. Unless Christie was there, he was not given either, they were still there when I came to pick them up. I even provided a throw away bowl and spoon to minimize their labor in feeding him. I was not happy. I also realized that if you board overnight your pet is left unattended from 5pm to 7am the next day. That's 14 hours, an awfully long time to be locked into a small room with no place to potty, the dogs do not have access to the yards when the facility is closed. If you are leaving meds that are to be administered on a set schedule keep that in mind if you choose to leave your pet here. They also lack any type of fire protection, most especially fire sprinklers, although they gave us the impression they had them. In speaking with other owners who left their animals here we realized that there was no consistency in pricing. Apparently Dawn determines what she thinks you can afford and charges you accordingly. I was also told by a former customer that during holiday weekends your dog may be stacked in a portable kennel to maximize space instead of the run that you are charged for. Not very ethical in my opinion. My last comment is that one of my dogs has a sensitive paw that was injured prior to our adopting him. One of the attendants was putting him in the run and either he slipped on that paw or she inadvertently closed the door on it, He snapped at her, grazing her hand. Dawn called me the next day, not when it happened, but more than 24 hours later, to tell me she would have to report him to animal control as having bitten her worker. I was really shocked, not only because she had waited so long to call me, but I thought I was leaving my dogs with professionals who were trained to deal with all types of temperaments and circumstances. This was also after our dogs had been there for more than 5 months showing no problems or aggressive characteristics at all. The attendant's hand was slightly scratched, the skin was not broken and if there was a bruise it was very slight. I have experienced much worse working in animal rescue. Fortunately for me and my dog, the doctor the attendant saw, at the insistence of Dawn, did not feel compelled to report my dog to animal control because my dog could have been quarantined or worse. This is not a place I would trust my furry family members with ever again. read more

Incredible staff and facility!! We left our active vizsla here for a week. We thought we would try a new location because our dog never seems quite the same after we return from a trip. (Compared to the other well known boarding facilities in Austin) We were so impressed immediately when we were greeted by the staff at Best Friends Boarding Too. The staff let us watch as they brought our dog through the beautiful courtyard to play around and then to her condo. They were reassuring, genuine, and loving toward our dog. They sent pictures to us during the week too! The facility is by far the most clean, well maintained dog boarding facility we have been to in the Austin area. Even our kids agreed this place is AWESOME! The staff really loved on our dog just like we would at home. When we picked her up she was full of life, happy, healthy looking and clean.
