Cleveland's late night food scene, particularly on the east side, can be bleak. Best Gryos, though, is a beacon of shining hope, open late with exactly what you need after a long night out. I tried got the greek girl gyro with chicken. It had a soft pita, flavorful chicken, spinach, tomato and feta. I also got a side of the waffle fries which were amazingly crispy. The perfect waffle fry. Crunchy, airy, potato. Highly recommended this spot. I will definitely be back.

So if your pant button busts because you ate too much here, then you need a "Belts Gyros." And if you wanna wager on a horse race during your meal, go to "Bets Gyros." And if you drive a Mercedes here, go to "Benz Gyros." And if you're drunk when you come here, well then you're eating "Buzzed Gyros." Sounds about right. Best Gyros by name, Best Gyros by Nature. So Cleveland is known for top notch Gyros and I can name a dozen that are excellent... none are as perfect as this one. None compare. Best Gyros (both locations) have some of the best products imaginable and the deliciousness is difficult to quantify. Definitely some of the better Gyros you'll get in a region (Midwest/Great Lakes) that's known for its Gyros and for deciding elections (hopefully for Biden), and excels at them. Chicago may be the home of the Chicago style Gyro, but Cleveland does them damn well and this is a great example of that. The best example, in fact. The clue's in the name, can you reads, BROS? Other Gyro Shops don't COMPARE, HOS Truly perfect Gyros are RARE, HOS You'll find them here, Cleveland's best GYROS! (Then come over to my place, cuz I wanna SHARE O'S) The freshest ingredients, the yummiest fluffiest freshest pita, and the juiciest, most perfectly seasoned Chicago-style Gyro meat. This is the #1 in the state - by a distance. And it's a state that loves its Gyros, so that's a big condiment. I mean complement. I MEAN COMPLIMENT. But Condiments can Complement your Gyro and yes that's a Compliment. Now Complement this review by sending me a Yelp Compliment about Condiments. I'm a pretty good judge of Gyro because I've had some of the best ones in the country here and there, and I have to say that this is one of the very best you will find anywhere. My favourite in the Cleveland area which is an area that has a lot of good ones - and comparable to some of the best ones in places like Chicago and Detroit and Pittsburgh. They're also open pretty late at night, have plenty of dining in tables which the location further East does not have, and are easily the best food you can eat in - or near - Coventry or Cleveland Heights. These Gyros really do hit the heights. And if David and Posh were serving these up, firstly they'd be less thin, but also, it'd be renamed "Becks Gyros." But they're not, so it won't. Now let's finish with a rap: Forget Pacinos and Robert De NIROS Forget Greyhounds and trains and AEROS Forget all those stupid Perras and PERROS Forget giving blood, kidneys, bone MARROWS Forget Enrique (he can't be your HEROES) Forget Panhandlers (they just want DINEROS) Forget Cereals (especially CHEERIOS) Forget Robin Hood (it's just about ARROWS) Forget gardening (it's just WHEELBARROWS) Forget Wrestling (except Eddie GUERREROS) Forget Steroids (unless you're Ric FLAIR, HOS) Forget DJs (except maybe ALESSO) Forget Egypt (it's just a few PHAROAHS) Forget Chinatown (it's just some TAROS) Forget Jay Z (and all of his AFFAIR HOS) Forget religion (just a bunch of PRAYER HOS) Forget Buddhism (it's just some SELF-AWARE HOS) Forget Customs (we've nothing to DECLARE HOS) Forget Strip Clubs (it's just a bunch of BARE HOS) Forget Harems (there's never any SPARE HOS) Forget Pearland (it's just a bunch of PEAR HOS) Forget Hot Or Not (it's just to COMPARE HOS) Forget groupies (they want the drummer, SNARE HOS) Forget lingerie (they all seem to WEAR HOSE) Forget stockings (I always seem to TEAR HOSE) Forget Straight Edge (they're just a bunch of SQUARE HOS) Forget Stairmaster (they're just a bunch of STAIR HOS) Forget Therapy (it's just some DESPAIR HOS) Forget St. Tropez (it's just some MILLIONAIRE HOS) Forget Yelp Talk (it's just some FOURSQUARE HOS) Forget college parties (it's just some TRUTH OR DARE HOS) Forget your BFF (he'll never let you SHARE HOS) I'm like Johnny Cash (I've been everyWHERE HOS) So I can tell you know (listen cause the FOX KNOWS) For all you hungry girls, and all you starving ASS BROS For hands down Ohio's BEST GYROS

    Yassssss Cleveland!!!

Great little dine-in/takeout spot just outside the Cleveland city center. Pros: - Clean and tidy - Great customer service - Brooke was friendly as she took our orders and had lots of great recommendations. - A case of liquors, beers, and wines right next to the cashier! Yayyy for being able to conveniently skip a trip to the liquor store and get your drink on. - Delicious food: my friend loved her chicken tenders with extra honey mustard; my wrap with extra hot sauce as well as waffle fries were great as well. - Open a bit later than other spots nearby. Staying open past 10pm on Friday night is just good business sense. Cons: None. Overall: This isn't a fancy place, but it's got a great vibe that makes you comfortable about buying their food. It helps that the food is also tasty!

Seven brands of liquor on sale at Best Gyros on Lee Road.

I had pierogies on a gyro. Let those words sink in. Pierogies. On a gyro. Muther-farking pierogies on a muther-farking gyro! This is a thing that has happened and it was glorious and it was at Best Gyros. If you need a place that's open late (midnight most nights, but FOUR IN THE MORNING on weekends) and that serves yummy non-health foods with booze sold in wee small bottles, you need to go to the Best Gyros on Lee Road (just a block or so south of the Cedar Lee Theater). In addition to the obvious, Best Gyros serves breakfast (Hubby got scrambled eggs topped with gyro meat), about seven brands of liquor such as Skyy, Jameson and Captain Morgan in tiny bottles ranging in price from $4 to $7 (which could mix well with the Coke products they also sell) and, per a conversation Hubby had with the manager, they will soon serve ice cream and shakes (they had this conversation in March 2015). As for the gyros, there are nine "Seasoned Flavors" (prices vary by size, a regular is $8.99) and FOURTEEN of the "Specialty Flavors" (regular size is $9.49), one of which is the aforementioned "Cleveland Special Gyro" that was topped with deep fried potato and cheese pierogies and sauteed onions. The serving sizes are good - Hubby somehow managed to finish his breakfast, but I was full half way through my regular size "Cleveland" one and had to take the rest home. I took pictures of our meals with our water/soda bottles in the composition so you can better gauge the serving sizes. I hope that's helpful. NOT a health food joint by any stretch of the imagination, but the kind of joint you'd want to visit before or after you hit the Lee Road bars.

This is their diagonal entry set into a corner south of busier Cedar and Lee.  Once inside, it's actually more spacious and bright.

It's really SO GOOD! Forget any other gyro you had, this is THE gyro. The place has a casual, welcoming vibe, clean and bright. There's a very IG worthy Greek mural inside. There are a few very comfortable tables to dine in inside and outside. Most guests take their meals to go (you can also pre-order for pick-up via Uber Eats). This eatery is always quiet and peaceful. Employees are always super friendly and attentive. Food is always prepared super quickly, took maybe 5 minutes this time. You can tell that there's a very high level of commitment to quality and good ingredients here. I ordered Classic Lamb Street Gyro (comes with fries), Lemon Rice Pilaf, and Zoe's Rice Pudding. Lamb Street Gyro was incredible as always. The lamb was perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed into a soft, slightly chewy homemade pita. What really stands out to me every time is the balance -- the meat, the fresh tomato and onion, plus tzatziki on the side. They really get gyros right every single time! Accompanying fries were perfectly seasoned and fried. I immediately ate all of them. You can order fries on your gyro or separately. I prefer to munch on them separately but on the gyro also often hits the spot. Rice pilaf was flavorful but unfortunately I got the feeling it wasn't fully cooked through. That didn't stop be from eating all of it. I devoured my Zoe's Rice Pudding. It's perfectly creamy and has such a good amount of cinnamon. I wish that I would have paired it with coffee but it was my first time experiencing it, and I couldn't stop eating it. I'm telling you, try the pudding. I was very happy with my meal. Also, I've tried other meals at this place in the past including Chicken Street Gyro, and Baklava. One of the guests at the restaurant was very talkative and mentioned that they make really good burgers (daily special). If you're feeling adventurous, you can always build your own bowl or build your own platter. Parking is a bit complex. Enter the parking lot from the right of the restaurant to park close otherwise you'll see Do Not Enter signs preventing you from entry. If you love Mediterranean food or just want something fast, fresh, and a little different from the usual, Zina's is absolutely worth a stop. I'm already planning to go back and trying baklava cheesecake. If you love Zina's, check out other establishments by the same owner - Chicken Ranch next door and Market on Lee.

The build-your-own bowl was pretty expensive at $19 with lamb meat, luckily the size was okay. Of course it would have been cheaper had I gone in-store. Feta cheese and kalamata olives were extra, but I had those at home, so I didn't add them. There was a good amount of lamb meat in the bowl and the pita was huge. I got the tzatziki yogurt sauce, as well as the Zina vinaigrette. The vinaigrette is thicker than one would expect, and garlicky, but I enjoyed it. The lamb wasn't especially seasoned, but it was good. Overall solid lunch choice, and I have leftovers for dinner.

This month we read a book about Corfu (Greek Island). And so, this grille was the perfect backdrop. AMBIANCE: Casual destination with simple Greek decor. The grille is like a little diner with only a few tables for dining in - 4 tables of 4. Most guests ordered food to go. Our party of six rearranged some tables, and had a fine time. Our entire feast didn't all fit on the table. So I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place for group dining, maybe just parties of 2 for ultimate comfort. MENU: The menu online doesn't reflect the current menu. Some entree options were removed. I included images of the current menu. The current menu is Cheesecake Factory-long. The menu features a lot of Greek dishes that I haven't experienced at the local restaurants and festivals. I was excited to try them all! Our table ordered quite a variety: Greek Salad ($11), Horiatiki Salad ($11), American Gyro ($9.50), Pantzaria ($6), Tri-Dip Platter ($20), Baklava Cheesecake ($7.50), Dolmades ($6), Skordalia ($7), Baklava ($2), Avgolemono ($5), Athenian Entree ($16), Gyro Bowl ($13), and and more. We had an entire feast. I can share impression about the dishes I've shared or had all to myself. Pantazaria, Beet Salad, had the most perfectly prepared beets but a small serving. Skordalia, garlic potato spread, was an interesting concoction of potato, vinegar, and garlic. Dolmades aka stuffed grape leaves were pretty delicious, perfectly actually. Athenian platter contained the most delicious lamb, but rice wasn't a hit for me. It seemed not fully prepared. Perhaps it is as intended. Real lamb from vertical spit is used. Baklava cheesecake was part baklava (top part) and cheesecake (bottom part). I liked this division. My friend who shared the cheesecake with me wishes she could get both in one bite which is impossible. My friends bragged about Avgolemono, which is lemon soup. The grille doesn't have alcohol, so we ordered soft drinks and water. The restaurant ran out of bottled water. Oh, and if you're dining in, there are no public restrooms. Keep that in mind before visiting. SERVICE: The service is quick and friendly. I wouldn't call it overly inviting. It was pretty efficient considering the size of our order. Part of our order was wrong, we were missing pita side order and dips. There is no table side service, order at the counter. CATERING: The grille offers a pretty extensive catering menu. It's the only way you can try some dishes like Mousaka, Greek eggplant dish. PARKING: Onsite parking is not available. Street parking is available in the areas. Make sure to use meters when not free (weekends). If you're looking for Authentic cuisine and menu items you haven't tried elsewhere, consider this taverna. I'd recommend it for takeout food or dining (just the two of you).
