    Aluminum and dirt
    Donika J.

Very disappointed, I ordered the Pad See Yu noodles with shrimp.. got to work and the shrimp was so tiny but the flavor was good.. So I took a pic of the dish, ready to leave a review raving about the flavor. It's not until I zoomed in on the pic and discovered the container it was in was dirty.. and I discovered there were tiny pieces of aluminum foil on it. I instantly lost my appetite, because now I'm wondering did I consume any of that. I wiped the rim of the container with a napkin and the dirty was even more obvious. I prayed my entire shift that I wouldn't get sick.

The lemon-themed decor creates a super charming, cozy vibe, and the staff provided warm, attentive service from start to finish. The bar menu is a total showstopper--we loved the refreshing Watermelon Margarita and balanced Mango Mojito, plus they have fantastic mocktail options! Every plate arrived beautifully presented and bursting with flavor: * Appetizers: Lychee Shrimp (perfect sweet-and-crispy balance) & Shrimp Rolls (light and flavorful) * Mains: Pineapple Fried Rice with Shrimp (rich, authentic seasonings) & Grilled Salmon with Teriyaki Sauce & Vegetables (seared to perfection) * Dessert: Chocolate Lava Cake with Ice Cream (the ultimate warm-and-cool finish) An absolute 10/10! Everything was genuinely delicious, from the presentation to the very last bite. We recommend this spot without hesitation for anyone looking for an incredible Thai experience!

Even the bathroom was impressively nice, which always says a lot about a restaurant's attention to detail. The food and drinks were on point. The crab fried rice, fried shrimp toast, rib lamb were all flavorful and well-prepared. One standout for me was the spring rolls--they were so good, crispy and packed with flavor. The drinks were also great, making the overall dining experience even better. Between the great food, nice atmosphere, and convenient location, it's definitely a place I'd go back to again. Alexa greeted us and took our order she's amazing! If you're planning a date night or a nice dinner out, Monkey King is a solid choice.

First, the owners are some of the kindest, most thoughtful hosts you could hope to meet. You can feel how much they care about their community the moment you walk in. They've also made real efforts to make the space accessible for different bodies, which is something that far too few restaurants consider. That level of intention and hospitality truly stands out. And then there's the food -- absolutely phenomenal. Every dish feels intentional, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Standouts for me: Shrimp Toast - the best I've ever had. Perfectly crisp, rich, and balanced. Duck - deeply flavorful and cooked to perfection. Ribs - tender, savory, and incredibly satisfying. Char Siu - sweet, smoky, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Eggplant - unbelievably delicious and a must-order. Monkey King is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Amazing food, genuine hospitality, and a space that feels welcoming and thoughtful. Highly recommend supporting this gem.

The summer roll has the right amount of spring and always lots of noodles and lettuce. The spring rolls always arrive still hot and still so crispy and good. You know when a place has a limited menu they take care of all their foods. We ordered a pork bahn mi and a chicken bahn mi. An order of pirk dumplings and 2 drinks. The lychee drink and the taro milk drink with boba. The taro drink was creamy and light when drinking. The lychee drink was like a lychee flavor soda but so refreshing. Definitely get the lychee if you are unsure as that is what the worker recommended when i asked. The dumplings were small but yummy with their homemade sauce. I wish they were bigger but no other complaints. The bahn mi's were delicious i got the prok and the flavoring were juicy with their homemade sauce pickled carrots and cucumbers slices balancing it out. The bread was so crispy i throughly enjoyed. I will stop by again another time for the delicious Pho smell that was at the restaurant.

The chef has created a fusion of foods and flavors that was extremely pleasing to my palate. When we were there the restaurant was almost full so we came with our patience and it was worth it. The server, unfortunately we never got his name, was very attentive, friendly with a slick sense of humor and all of his effort was greatly appreciated. Although we ordered separately, we treated the experience like a family style meal, tasting almost everything on the table. Known for the oxtail ravioli, you'll do yourself a disservice if you don't try it! They are so deliciously flavorful! I cleaned that plate! The shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta was buttery and smooth and the shrimp were huge. I didn't taste the mac and cheese, due to allergies, but my cousins loved it. The fried rice was very flavorful and the fried rice with oxtail pieces was beyond comparison. One cousin had the whole snapper which she enjoyed. This came with callaloo (very tasty) and plantains that were perfectly sweet and impeccably cooked without a trace of oil being used. Another cousin had the whole jerk hen that she enjoyed. It was served with bok choy and a plantain pancake underneath. The bok choy made my mouth happy! The only thing that missed the mark, in comparison, was the honey barbecue wings. They were average and did not compare to the excellence applied to the creation of the rest of the dishes. For dessert, we had the molten lava cake, with 4 spoons and it was light yet quite flavorful, especially with the rum-craisin ice cream in the dish. Finally, don't sleep on the 'Sidecar' drink, which was delicious and strong. Greyz is a little pricey and the prices honor the experience and skill of Chef Cheese. He has done the "damn thing" with these dishes! We're DEFINITELY going back! We have 2 more cousins to introduce Greyz to!

The service was okay - it was obvious the server was brand new/still in training so I'm sure he'll get better and congrats to him on the new job! Btw, in case you were wondering this place is NOT Vietnamese-owned, or at least the server + the host + some workers in the back were not, or perhaps they're trilingual. In any case, I was a little sad about that because there really is a lack of good Viet food in NY so although other ethnicities are more than welcome to own places not of their own ethnicities, I was just hoping to find more Viet-owned Viet food businesses. That being said, I got pho bo vien (which I suppose now I know why there's no Vietnamese text on the menu... so this is the viet meatball pho??) and it was okay. Nothing bad, nothing special, probably a bit too pricey for what you get. I was hoping for some comfort food since this location is nearby. The broth was overall fine after adding some hoisin sauce and Sriracha. Unsure if I'll come again... the convenient location for me is probably the main selling point
