Super impressed with this Malaysian place! I was looking for something nearby and found this gem. We ordered the curry laksa, Hainanese chicken, crispy scallops, and Thai iced tea. The Thai ice tea was good and sweet. It's one of the nicer Thai iced teas I've had but I like mine creamier with less bitter tea flavor. The curry laksa was flavorful! Very strong fish paste/ curry flavor. I would've liked some different toppings but the flavor was still one of the better curry laksas I've had in New York. The Hainanese chicken was delicious. Definitely a must try. It was juicy and the way it was soaking in the special soy sauce- yummy. Some pieces were a little fatty but overall delicious. The crispy scallops were also not bad but nothing too special. They also have complimentary red bean soup at the end! Service was standard- nothing memorable. Overall: so delicious and I can't wait to come back again.

Nice local Malaysian restaurant with fair rices. Expect dishes to be $12-$15 which is a bit more than cantonese rice boxes but for malaysian meals it seems fair. We also ordered two roti canais and wish they gave a little more curry. We ordered online and the food was ready in about 15 mins. They did forget to give us a drink we ordered though and we didnt check until we got home.

I came with my family for dinner one night and we ordered so much food. The staff kept bringing out dish after dish and it was amazing! Everything was so good, but the one thing that stood out to me most was this stingray dish! It was so incredibly good that I craved it and got it as takeout too! Although the takeout version wasn't as crispy as it was in person, everything else was incredibly delicious!! Every post of the fish was edible including the bones! I loved every bit of it and pairing it with any veggies made the meal so very well rounded! The okra tasted like it was boiled and drizzled with sweet spice and some type of sambal sauce on top. Best meal ever because I got to experience it at the restaurant and in the comfort of my own home! I would definitely keep going back just for the fish!!

Great local spot for Malaysian if you're craving it! The chicken was very tender and silky. The roti is a must get! It comes with a piece of chicken and potato which you can ear with your roti. I wish the piece of roti was a bit bigger but nonetheless I would order again! The singapore mei fun was also good but don't get it if you don't like the taste of fish sauce. Highly recommend the beef and pepper rice, it was well seasoned snd goes perfectly with the rice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall great place filled with locals if you want an authentic experience![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's not too many tables to dine in and theres usually people waiting outside but don't let that deter you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Take out is also a great option if it gets too crowded :)

Gave this place another shot after my friends told me it has improved and definitely agreed with her. Had some of their new menu items and the beef brisket noodle soup was pretty good. Young tofu soup noodles is still one of my favorite. Fishhead noodle soup is also another classic that they do well . I've order their speciality wine chicken to go in the past and it's definitely worth the price point filled with tremendous flavors. Great for winter to warm the body. Service is quick .

It is always a pleasure to come down here. Their chicken is so soft and smooth. Veg is a must. Seafood in bird nest is my favorite

I came here on a Saturday around 7pm thinking parking would be easy to find since it's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but boy was I wrong! My mom and I went inside first while my brother looked for parking. We sat down thinking it'll take around 5-10 minutes but after about 20 minutes, he ended up finding a spot further away from the restaurant. The waitresses here were super nice and understanding and didn't give us an attitude for taking up their table during prime dinner time. We ordered a roti canai, half a Hainanese chicken with chicken flavored rice, kangkung belacan, and a sarang burung. The roti canai was decent, similar to the quality of other restaurants. The Hainanese chicken was tender and flavorful yet light - my mom loved it so much that she ordered it again two days later! The chicken-flavored rice actually tasted like chicken, unlike many other restaurants that make it bland. Kangkung belacan was perfect - despite the fermented shrimp paste, the flavor was not too salty, which is what I prefer. Lastly, the sarang burung was also great with lots of fresh shrimp and chicken. The nest had a slight crisp on the outside and the taro was soft but still had a bite. There was nothing negative that I ordered from here! As I mentioned, it was so good we returned two days later. We also tried the Ipoh seafood wat dan hor, which was a stir-fried flat rice noodle with a seafood egg gravy. It was honestly perfect, from the flavor to the fresh seafood (shrimp, clams, squid, scallops), to the veggies. Everything was beyond my standards. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's nothing negative about Ipoh besides the fact that there are not that many tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When it's prime dinner time on a weekend, expect a wait to be seated because the place filled up quickly as soon as 7:30pm came around. Prices here are decent for Malaysian food, but it's worth it. I'm looking forward to trying their curry laksa mee with yong tau foo next time--I've been eyeing that since the first time I looked at the menu!

Came here with friends and it was such a great find! I love Malaysian food and this def took home points. The roti is exactly the way I love roti. The curry I find is always on the oily side but I expect this is usually the case. The roti itself is soft and mildly flaky, warm and just slightly crisp. Really good. We got 2 of these to share with the table. The nasi lameh was good overall and the curry is a bit strong but also not bad. What my favorite thing was the birds nest! It's a special I believe. The "nest" has a crunchiness to it and is filled with shrimp, sweet pea, chicken, baby corn, etc. This is easily my favorite main dish of all that night and I would definitely come back to have it again. Service was quick and it's not too busy inside. Amazing food!

02/01/2025 @ 12noon Made reservations for a table of 5. This is one of the Malaysian restaurant i would choose to eat in as in my opinion, the food here is most authentic on point with taste.

I love coming to Ipoh for malaysian food. While they have definitely spread out their menu to more catered to be Chinese, their Malaysian food is definitely their specialty. Tried their Thai Iced Tea and to my surprise it was really good, besides all the sugar you can taste the Thai Tea in it. Their Laksa is really good as well I finished the entire bowl and the curry. Though I would be happier if they had stuffed eggplant/peppers in it.

Ipoh is still my go-to Malaysian spot, and since my last review, I began branching out and trying other dishes they offer. So here are some dishes that I've tried lately: - Seafood wat dan har, which is like stir-fried hor fun (flat rice noodle) with a savory brown gravy that's almost like egg-drop soup consistency. The gravy has seafood (duh) and eggs. This is great if you're in between craving something brothy and something dry (stir-fry ish). The combination of the gravy and the noodles makes it so silky and slurpable. 5/5 - Grilled satay tofu has two big pieces of firm tofu that's been grilled. It's drenched in a satay sauce. It's alright overall but feels like a rip-off with just two big pieces. I would get another appetizer that has a better value. I tried it once and didn't get it again. 3/5 -Golden fried squid is exactly what it sounds like: Asian-style deep-fried squid. Very tasty and addicting. 4/5 -Green curry fish filet is my new favorite. The fish filet is deep-fried and served with a side of green curry. There's also long beans, onions, and bell peppers in the green curry. The fish tastes great when dipped in the green curry but also alone. 5/5 - Pad see ew always comes with burnt-ish noodles. Would like it if they toned it down a bit, and then the dish would be perfect. 3/5

There were 10 of us, so we ordered a variety of Chinese dishes. Overall the food wasn't bad, but nothing amazing. We got about 7 dishes and a soup, and the bill came out to around $413. The most expensive item was our soup. They recommended and we ordered not knowing it was $98, but that was our fault for not asking. To be fair though, the soup was quite delicious and I had two bowls.

It's in a quieter area of Boro Park surrounded by residences and commercial warehouses and auto shops. Yet I wanted to try it for months. So we did try it especially as they have a lunch special everyday from 11am to 3pm which offers a starter of their house soup with all the fixings - spare rib, fresh chicken, mushrooms, a abalone as well. While not like most other restaurants which their house soup is left over bones and odds/ends with a heap loud of msg. Then 3 main dishes of your choice from their lunch special menu which has over 20 dishes for you. Plus a bowl of their white rice for each person. Even a simple bowl of white rice was amazing - it's a mix of different rices which presents very nicely - each grain stays individual, long, fluffy, and great texture. The main dishes do not disappoint- fresh, flavorful, well balanced, and with wok hay. We've now eaten there a handful of times for lunch and even with other friends/family - everyone agrees the food and preparation is excellent. Everyone says they would come back. Then if you take into account the lunch special deal for $30 this is an amazing meal that feeds your taste buds and stomach yet your wallet praises you. I have read some reviews giving 1 star with comments about long wait for dim sum, dim sum being average at best, and bad manager/servers etc. I have these observations to share - Dak Sing Palace has a small dim sum menu maybe a dozen or less items and they are not a dim sum restaurant so they likely don't produce dim sum fresh daily. Likely their dim sum is frozen and reheated. Thus the wait time and average dim sum. Bad manager/servers - this is not uncommon at Chinese restaurants it is almost expected to have to deal with this to some extent. My own experiences here every server does do their job maybe some without a smile but we have had excellent servers with a smile and small talk also. If you have any reservations about trying Dak Sing Palace due to how the appearance may seem, or reviews on the service, or dim sum then I say Just Go! And try using their lunch special for $30! You won't be disappointed.

They were tender and meaty, with just the right amount of batter to not feel like you're just eating dough. This paired well with their chicken rice. The laksa noodles were decent but a bit underwhelming. We expected more flavors but it fell a bit flat. Prices are reasonable and the serving size is pretty good.
