I placed my order over the phone and the person answering was cordial and efficient. When I arrived, I was definitely taken aback by the appearance, the wall filled with hand written specials, menus, old school tile. sparse decor/seeating. But if you realllllyyy know, the crazier the specials display & lobby, the better the food. There were all walks of life coming in and out to pick up food. My order was ready fairly quickly, so I paid and left. The flavors were decent and it is a bit more costly than my regular place. There are two Chinese take out places much closer to my apartment but inevitably I find myself at Hardee's for what I know will be a treat. The ratio of chicken to breading is more than acceptable. I'm a snob when it comes to American Chinese food take out. Before a few months ago. I never tried Hardee's. My boyfriend insisted it was better than my usual spot. So I decided to give them a try. He was right. Now they are expensive. I've never paid less than $15 for any meal I've eaten. The chicken wings are great. Their Buffalo shrimp with broccoli got me in a chokehold. It's not your typical buffalo sauce. It's not really that spicy but it's savory with a hint of sweet and heat. I like it and they give you their version of bleu cheese. I do love that they give you 10 jumbo shrimp versus the 5 X-large you may typically get with a shrimp dish from Chinese takeout places. They're pretty quick and if you're a regular and creature of habit like my bf they know you by order and face. They need a reward system for all the money he's spent there. Steamed, grilled and fried are the ways you can get your fish which is (tilapia, salmon and flounder) and the shrimp is fresh and not that frozen crap! The 30 piece shrimp is actually seasoned with real seasonings and has a very light breading. You can also get it grilled or steamed! Did I also mention the shrimp is fresh?!? Lol yes, I did!!!!! Sharp decline. Not sure what happened, but even if the speed of your services increases, the quality of your service, shouldn't decline. Why, if I ask for very little sauce on my lo mein, do the new guys, decide to douse it with soy sauce, like a Pyro maniac does a fire with gasoline. I haven't eaten here in a long time. First off, Hardee's, on Utica is one of my favourite Asian spot to order and pick up or to go there and pickup. I even tell others to go, Hardee's. When I open the white container. It look like scrap of small chunk of chicken. WtF Small as in, thumbs nails like of chicken ... SmH I waited some weeks, for this day and I was disappointed. This didn't equal to the price I pay for the dish. SmH This look like it should have been added to a small white container then a large container. SmH and, they ONLY put two maybe three stem broccoli that look like more like a leaf in my food. WtF! Yup yup, unsatisfied with my dish. And , yes I give them 3 stairs. I mean , come on it Hardee. They only take cash when going in person,and it can be pretty crowded especially on the weekend. Sometimes they do not answer the phone so you have to call a number of time to get through to them.
