I ordered the Lychee Delight and Mojito Fizzy mocktails. Both were good. For apps, I tried the Duck Roti Wraps and Rock Shrimp. The shrimp was crunchy and fried perfectly and the duck wraps are great to share as two people. For entrees, I got the Crispy Pork Belly Basil Fried Rice and Pad Thai with Fried Fish Fillet Wild Cod. I can still taste the delicious umami flavor of the spicy basil fried rice in my mouth and the fatty crispy pork belly pieces on top. The Pad Thai was yummy and on the sweeter side here. This place is definitely top 5 on my Thai list. Located in crown heights I stopped in on a Saturday evening, no wait straight to a table. Great customer service. The drinks are so delicious and refreshing I had the lychee martini so well made. For starters I tried the crispy chicken stirring rolls, and the calamari 10/10 the dipping sauce paired with was so tasty. I had the crispy pork over Basil fried rice spicy. Having not made a table reservation (we had just been walking by and decided on this place) they accommodated us. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Food was fantastic. The drunken noodles were so good with just enough spice to really bring it to life! big fan of the green beans in it, still a little crunchh but didn't mind it for more texture! We got the Mama J'0 dish and my friend said it was the best tom yum he has had so far! The shrimp were cooked really nice and the pork belly was a great addition too. The moscow mule came in the cutest mug with an elephant trunk as the cup handle! really loved their non alcooholic drink Ginger Tamarind. It could easily feed a small village! And here came the dessert--the sticky rice dessert got TWO generous scoops of coconut ice cream!? The restaurant is small and cozy, with a dining area in the back that feels more intimate. It's clearly a neighborhood favorite, as it filled up quickly during the dinner rush. ＊Franklin Wings $13.95 I ate five fried wings all by myself. It was impossible to stop eating. They were saucy and savory, though on the pricey side for just two wraps. ＊Pad Thai with Triple Cooked Duck $30.95 If you have a normal appetite, this pad thai can easily stretch into two or three meals. They definitely didn't hold back on the duck. The generous pieces completely covered the dish on a large plate. The duck was tender with a slight crisp on the skin. I also loved the flavor and texture of the noodle itself. ＊Emerald Green Curry with Chicken $17.95 It might not have looked as insta-worthy as the other dishes, but my bf devoured the entire green curry in seconds. An outstanding (mostly) Thai restaurant in Brooklyn. The green curry with fried tofu was to die for and the peanut dumplings were a great way to kick things off. Misc also has some options from other Southeast Asian cuisines, though I stuck with Thai, including a Thai craft beer that I'd never seen before and really enjoyed! A true hidden gem with incredible Thai food! I really appreciate the variety of vegetarian options here - including mock duck so we have a protein option other than just tofu. The Pad Se Ew with mock duck is one of the most flavorful versions of this dish I've had, and the Green Curry (with tofu) was perfection - not too spicy, incredibly tasty and bold. I also recommend getting some roti to soak up the extra curry. The drinks are all more on the sweet side - I had the Miami Beach and it was tasty, but a little sweeter than my usual liking. The only reason for 1 less star is because I found the desserts to be a bit of a letdown - the lava cake had no lava and the coconut sticky rice was mostly just rice with some ice cream on top. However, I ordered the lychee mojito pitcher, and it was absolutely disgusting--I couldn't even drink it. It tasted like straight simple syrup. As for the food, I got the lava wings, which were pretty decent. Update after owner response: I was a bit surprised to see the owner respond to my review, especially since I noticed they don't seem to reply to others. Unfortunately, the tone of the response came across as defensive rather than constructive. Phrases like "you had every opportunity to mention it during your visit" and "you are not obligated to return" felt dismissive and unprofessional. As a customer, I think it would have been more appropriate to acknowledge the feedback and offer a more gracious response like: "We're sorry to hear the pitcher wasn't to your liking. On this visit, I ordered two lunch specials for takeout, each priced at $15.95 with chicken as the protein. The staff was cheerful and attentive, despite a sparse lunchtime crowd. They answered my questions and even accommodated my request to make the drunken noodles mild, something not listed on the menu or online ordering on their website. Each lunch special includes a simple salad and a choice of one side. I chose Drunken Noodles with Franklin Wings for one, and Emerald Green Curry with vegetable dumplings for the other. Despite being told both dishes had some spice, the flavors leaned noticeably sweet and could have used more heat. In hindsight, I would have left the drunken noodles at their default spice level. I've been a loyal customer at MISC Restaurant for the past 2 years and I've always genuinely enjoyed the food and atmosphere. However, my recent experience with the service was very disappointing. I arrived shortly before the kitchen went on break to prepare for dinner service. I was seated at the bar and was given the option to order, which I appreciated. I ordered a glass of wine and then began looking at the menu to decide on my food order. While I completely understand the urgency of the kitchen preparing to close temporarily, I felt extremely rushed by the server. I was asked what I wanted without even being given a brief moment to properly look through the menu. I respect restaurant policies and understand that kitchens may close during transitions between services. However, I don't think it's unreasonable for a customer to be given a short moment to review the menu before ordering. The interaction made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. What makes this even more disappointing is that I've supported this restaurant consistently for two years. I had a very uncomfortable experience ordering delivery from this restaurant tonight. I paid for my order with my card but did not add a tip on the card because I planned to tip the driver in cash. Shortly after placing the order, the restaurant called me asking how I planned to tip the delivery driver. I was honestly very confused and caught off guard by this question. I've worked in the service industry myself and currently run my own business, so I absolutely understand the importance of tipping and always make sure to take care of service workers. However, being told that my order could not be sent out for delivery unless a tip was added was extremely unprofessional. As a paying customer, how and when I choose to tip is my preference. You don't know if someone plans to tip in cash, and it's inappropriate to call a customer and question them about tipping before the service has even been completed. The way this situation was handled made me feel very uncomfortable. Because of this experience, I will no longer be ordering from this restaurant. Unfortunately, they've lost a customer. read more
