I didn't even want to give a 1 star they get a -**. I have never seen such a filthy salon before in my life. Toe nails all over the floor. The cleaning people never move the chairs and dust/toenails all under the furniture. I have very sensitive feet and getting a regular pedicure is out of the question. I told the girl I would like to have the express and she said ok (like what a waste of time)and please be gentle because my feet are extremely sensitive. I also asked for some warmer water and what a mistake. Her attitude was so rude. She did scrub the living daylights out of my feet which made me jump around and she had a hard time holding on so she threw my foot back into the water. After she was finished with my toes, she let out the water and sprayed Scrubbing Bubbles in the soaker. Didn't even fill the bottom let alone the sides. She then took the dirty instruments and placed them in her drawer with her other instruments are stored. That's when I realized the scrub brush and the purple scrubber were not packaged when she took them out of the drawer. NEVER going there again. read more

I have mixed feelings about this salon. I love: The salon is beautiful, I've never seen such a beautifully decorated salon. The nail art is (USUALLY) amazing and fun. I dislike: Pretty much everything else about this salon. I constantly feel uncomfortable with the nail techs. Nearly every single one of them is rude, impatient, and sloppy. I had my nails done there today and it looked like a 3 year old had taken a paint brush to my nails. This isn't the first time this has happened. They looked absolutely horrible and I ended up going to another salon to get them fixed the same day. Also, the worst thing is that they do not care about the health of your nails whatsoever. The tech that took off my shellac soaked my entire hand in the liquid that removes the polish and my hands are so dried out that they are white! Best Nail Spa took 90 minutes to remove the old polish, manicure, and paint my nails. Not only was the technician slooow, but he left me sitting for 15 minutes, brought the wrong color and used it on three nails before I noticed, skipped the massage, and applied no lotion. Ive been a client since they were at their old salon, but now, WHAT HAPPENED? Every time I've been in, the young front desk girl, is always extremely rude, (but I do my best to let it go). I've had multiple occasions where I left not satisfied, but continued to give them a chance. I mean, I use to love it there. This last time really sent me over the edge. My dip/acrylics never last me past 2 weeks. 2 weeks would be pushing it. They rush EVERY-TIME. Rush, rush. Hurry and pick your color and then fly through the appointment. We kindly tried to bring the attention to an owner when we went it for a couple nails to be fixed. Again, girl at the front completely tried to blow it off and refused to get anyone, then brought up someone (who I know) is not an owner. I got my nails done here the other day. The guy did not listen to what I wanted done. He did my nails and they are totally slanted and not the coffin shape they were originally. The polish job was lumpy and catches on clothes. Throughout the whole time he was looking over my shoulder and walking away from the table. He got mad at me when I tried to fully explain what I wanted to get. When I called they said they would redo them the next day. I tried my hardest to enjoy treating myself to a mani/pedi with gel polish, but I couldn't help but to walk out of this spa highly disappointed. I've gotten gel polish several times and never have I ever experienced my entire polish peel off within TWO DAYS of getting them done. I have been going to this salon for nearly 10 years, ever since they were in their smaller location and even though I moved across town, I will never go anywhere else. I have been seeing the owner every two weeks for my acrylic nails and usually get a design and Liz is quite good at this. I now consider her a good friend. She works very hard and has a lovely establishment that her and her colleagues have worked very hard to improve over the years, including the beautiful interior, great selection of nail products, and always adding something new and exciting. They have added eyelash extensions, waxing, stellar massage and I think even microblading i think. The massage therapist may be a bit high priced, but if you like deep tissue massage, she is well worth it! You can even get a 10 minute massage for a pick me up! Place is beautiful but very unsanitary. I got a pedicure and the bowl was visibly dirty. I asked my tech to clean it. They use scrubbing bubbles and do not let it sit for the several minute wait time to sanitize the bowl. The chair I was directed to had a half empty sprite sitting on the arm rest table. The tech cleaned everything well per my request and then attempted to file my nails with a used emery board. He was very kind to ask another tech where they keep the brand new pumas stone to scrub the heels with and opened the package in front of me. This place uses the same scrubber on different customers. My tech did not wear gloves and I never saw him wash his hands before starting my pedicure. I was there with other ladies who were invited as a wedding group. My friend who never gets manicures thought it was pretty gross when her tech finished filing her nails and passed the used emery board to the next tech and she began filing her customers nails with it. These are basic cardboard boards not diamond files. The tech also cut my toe with the nippers. I am a licensed cosmetologist from California and now a registered nurse. I get my gel nails done every two weeks and my lady always uses new emery boards and buffers for every client. They always wear gloves and wash their hands. This is basic beauty school rules. I phoned the state board 800-382-9480 and they transferred me to St Joseph County 574-235-9750 so I could report this. The county sent me back to the state. No one to report this to so I am yelping to get the word out. The salon is huge, posh and beautiful but they are passing germs, disease and fungus on a daily basis. Please beware and request your tech to clean in front of you and to use new equipment. I also noticed they use paraffin in bags for their special pedicures. Beware of this because some salons reuse this wax on several customers to save money. honestly for how the inside looks, im not impressed. i went to get my nails done for prom and it wasnt the greatest experience. i walk in and the ladies at the desk were no help when trying to schedule an appointment. i waited maybe 30 mins just to get in a chair for my pedicure just to wait another 20-30 mins. the whole pedicure took about 30 minutes and i will tell you right now my nails were jagged, the filing hurt extremely bad, and the paint job was horrible (i had to remove polish off my skin at home). just as that gets finished im told i am next in line for a mani while waiting in the chair. i waited a solid 45 mins to an HOUR just to get a horrible job done on my finger nails. there was nail glue everywhere, acrylic gel all under my nails and theyre not all the same shape. and if im being 100% honest i saw someone give another person USED (not cleaned or sterilized) nail clippers. definitely do not recommend. read more

I have been going to Best Nail Spa for several years. I received a gift certificate for another salon and I tried a gel mani for the first time. It chipped after the third day so one week later I had another Gel mani at Best Nails and it lasted 3 weeks. I probably could have gone longer but wanted a color change and the growth bothered me. NEVER WILL WE RETURN..... Walking in the front desk person was not approachable or friendly. My mom and I both were getting pedicures. My person was very nice and did a good job but my poor mother.... she sat down and an older gentleman began her pedicure as she settled down to enjoy her pedi another customer came in and walked up to her nail tech and made a seen that she preferred him. Without apologizing or literally saying ANYTHING at all to my mom he got up walked away and began this others person's pedicure. While the lady had a big smirk on her face as she got what she wanted my mom sat there confused.... my mom is a very easy going person if the gentleman would have just explained her or apologize it would have been not a big deal but he just up and left her there without saying anything. Me just sitting next to her getting a pedicure felt very awkward and you could feel how rude he was about the way he went about it. If the lady who walked in and wanted that particular gentleman she could have called and made an appointment with she did not. Several minutes later they scramble to find someone to do my moms pedicure which was a nice young gentleman you could tell he was nervous and I really didn't understand why. In the end he came up to me and apologized as he said this was his first adult pedicure as he typically handles younger children I gave him credit for apologizing and told him we all need to start somewhere so it's not his fault that he was thrown into a situation. Unfortunately an older lady came by and looked at my mom's pedicure and start yelling at him and embarrassed the poor kid. She then sat down to fix my mom's pedicure but did not put her feet back in the water to soak and started to redo the whole process with her feet being dry as I sat there letting my nail's dry on the other side of the salon my mom began texting me that she felt like she was being tortured and the older lady who came and yelled at the kid and took over the pedicure was literally taking her frustration out from the kid on my mom's feet. My mom not only told her she was hurting her she dod not seem to care. The my mom advised the lady that she should not take it out on the kid as the older gentleman just up and left her pedicure and they scrambled to find a replacement or she would have waited. In the end she was extremely upset and they were not apologetic my mom's feet hurt and she was very disappointed in the experience as we get our nails done all the time so we know what is a pedicure feels like and what the end result should be. I would be concerned to know if this poor kid actually had a license to do nails and if you're going to train someone that's not how you should go about the older lady should have sat down and explained to him and started the pedicure over the correct way instead of torturing my mom for his short coming on doing his first adult pedicure. Last part of the experience for her was very uncomfortable as she sat there to dry a lady randomly came up behind her without my mom knowing I started to rub her shoulders and then proceeded to ask her if she would like a massage for 10 minutes not only did this lady invade my mom's personal space and touched her before asking it was like they're trying to get more money out of her. Not sure how this place has amazing reviews or this incident was just a fluke.....there was a better way to handle this the entire experience and they should have apologized to her from the gentleman leaving her to go to the other lady .... to torturing her feet and continue to do so when she even advised the lady she was hurting her .... to the lady who randomly started to massage her without asking. I came in for a balance for acrylic nails. The person I typically went to was unavailable. I was assigned to the husband of the owner. He did not introduce himself. I asked if he was accustom to doing acrylic balance and he said he did them all the time. By the end my nails look worse then I have ever had. Very short ( I do like them short but these were below the nail beds). Honestly a child could have done a better job. I had to let them grow a week, went to another salon who asked what had happened to my nails? They took off all the acrylics and totally redid my nails. My friend made an appointment for 6 of us (we were getting mani and pedis done for her wedding that was that weekend)) 1 person in our group got taken to do her mani while everyone else in the party was taken for pedis.. when we asked why she got separated we were told that you have to ask for everyone to get the same thing done at the same time (why would we make appointments as a group if we didn't all want to be together?) and we didn't do the room off to the side because it was going to cost an extra 50$.. one girl asked for a design on her toe, never got it.. my design was very poorly done, .. ((I always let the techs have fun with a design and tell them to do whatever and she got mad about me saying that)) she did a pretty good job on my shellac manicure, however they advertise as cnd((which is the real shellac brand)) and my top coat was a "Sally's" brand top coat and after 1 day it as already chipped! And then to top it off, I got my eyebrows done, and I naturally have thicker eyebrows and I just get them cleaned up and shaped, well, this girl decided to just take 3/4 of them off! ... And when I saw them I said" oh those are really thin, I normally just get them cleaned up"... And her response was "oh I guess I should have asked if you wanted them thinned out" ... The physical facility is among the best I've encountered. The support person among the worst. However, the most important thing - the nail tech - was excellent. Her name is Huong (Helen). I was a walk-in at Noon. There were about five ahead of me, but I was the only one who was pedi-only. After about 15 minutes, I was taken back to the chairs. A young lady had filled the basin with water and wanted to be sure the temp was OK. It was a tad hot. She tried to adjust it. I asked her to bring the back of the chair all the way up and she just pointed at the control mechanism. I repeated my request and made it plain I had no clue how to operate the thing. She looked at me like I was a jerk and declared she was new and didn't know how to do that. So, I knew at least two things: This spa is not as advertised and it is not worth the premium pricing. I told her she best find someone who knew what she was doing. She went off and interrupted a senior nail tech who was in the middle of a mani. So, no management/ownership on duty in the middle of their busiest daypart. Yet, they demand upscale Los Angeles prices for their services. My tech came by about five minutes later and from there, it was darn good. My nails were a mess and she did a fantastic job bringing them around. That was as good a pedi as I have ever had. Given the circumstances, I'd say it was the best. I opted for the mid-level pedi which includes lower leg and foot massage. Huong spent a good deal of time performing this, but I would have liked a little more pressure applied. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either. The massage chairs seemed to be in very good condition. My chair's massage function worked very well. The bottom line is that if you happen upon a great tech, as I did, the place is OK. I would give less than 1 star if possible. With a 11:30 appointment for 2, we walked in at 11:25 and was told, very rudely, it would be at least 45 minutes. Being on our lunch we did not wait and got treated, again very rudely. I have usually had good service, with short waits, but reading recent reviews it seems that the business has taken a strong downturn in the last few months. I've gone to a lot of nail salons in town and was never really happy with the results. Someone told me about Best Nails so I decided to try it out. The first couple times I was still a little unsure because I did feel like the tech didn't take their time and just rushed through my nails. I finally got Tommy and have requested him every time. He takes his time with each and every nail. He is awesome! He engages in conversation with you and is also pretty funny. Chris is also another great nail tech that I've had. I think that if you plan ahead and make an appt or get to know the techs you will eventually find someone that you will love....It is by the far the best place in town! read more

So bummed to give this review. I have gone and had great service - until the last time I visited. I had a French manicure for a wedding that all chipped off within 24 hours. When I returned to get them fixed, I was told that I should have notified someone that I was getting my nails done for a wedding. I think most people expect their nails to look nice for longer than 24 hours - wedding or no wedding. To top it all off, they were going to charge me $25 more to get my nails fixed! The receptionist was very rude to us the entire time. We waited 40 minutes while other people who came in long after us we're getting sat down to get their nails done. The receptionist called my sisters name so she went up, and then the receptionist said she didn't call it and to sit back down when she clearly did. They are very unorganized, don't care if they skip over your name, and most are very rude. The technicians will be on their phone and will randomly leave doing your nails to go talk to someone. I have been going here for a while and honestly the quality of your nails depends on who does them. Today i went in and got a lady i never had before. I asked for a fill and i wanted my nails matte white. First off, she applied the acrylic to fill my nails and she didnt put enough on and you could see where she filled in (if that makes sense) . & she was rushing for some reason. She was just doing everything fast and like she didnt care. Then she started applying my matte coat and it looked sort of yellow.. I didnt say anything yet because i thought it might dry normal. So i sat at the drying station and came to realize they still looked sorta yellow still. I still didnt say much i really didnt want to bother them and im a very shy person. But i ended up messing up the polish under the dryer (matte top coat takes longer to dry so i wasnt too used to it) so i go ask to get it repainted and they sent me back to the same lady. I ended up building the balls to ask if she could repaint the polish to just white instead of matte white because like i said it was yellow, and she had a really bad attitude and said "I do matte for you now" and kinda laughed at me. I paid for it so i should be able to get what i ask for. She had no reason to not fix my nails for me. Tomorrows the first day of school and i have to go with dirty looking yellow nails.
