Terrible customer service. Ordered a temperature gauge. They didn't include the bolts to install it. I called to inquire about a return and they suggested they could send the bolts. After several weeks the bolts never arrived. I called again and they said they weren't aware of any communication about the issue. They said they could send the bolts minus a $10 shipping charge. I agreed. They charged me immediately for the shipping fee but never sent the bolts. After a month of waiting again, I called and insisted on a return with a refund. They said I must have "fell through the cracks". The sent me a label to return the item. I returned the item and then the gave a refund minus the shipping fee of $10. What a joke. Don't waste your time with this company. read more

This company is terrible. We bought a grill from them and it didn't fit our built in. It took several months to finally return it due to their lack of communication and we didn't get a full refund. Had to miss several days of work waiting for a truck to pick up the grill and they didn't show. Don't use them! read more

We ordered a 23' custom barbecue island from Eric at Best of Backyard. We were very satisfied with the quality and detail that this company provided along with their excellent design ideas. They had to crane our island over the wall into our backyard and everything was done with such precision and no property was damaged in the delivery. We love the quality and workmanship put into our island and we've gone out and compared with many of their competitors and you can really tell the difference! We also ordered stools through this same company and they were delivered very quickly and boxed to prevent any damage. The crew set up the island with extreme care to our pavers and landscape. We did our homework and shopped many businesses from OC to San Bernardino and are so happy we chose a family run organization like Best of Backyard. If I could give these guys more than 5 stars I would. If you are seeking top notch customer service and getting exactly what you want these guys are it! Their price was also the best as I called lots of competitors. My husband and I had a vision of our BBQ island and Pablo made it a reality from the 3d drawing to the driving to our house and measuring to make sure that everything will fit. I normally don't write reviews but I am very happy with the service both myself and my wife received from Best of Backyard. We had gone to 3 different competitor stores before to design our backyard but we ran across some rude or uninterested sales people.  Erick and Valeria were very helpful both designing our island and explaining the building process. We actually changed our island design and layout multiple times to ensure our island fit our needs and likes and both of them were very helpful throughout the whole process. Not only did we purchase our island from them but we also decided to purchase our Palapa from them as well. Both went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the service and product provided. I would definatelly recommend this place. read more

There are plenty of awesome retailers to get BBQ and grilling gear from. I highly recommend to use someone else. I purchased a new Grill from them where the bottom cart was clearly already returned and used and damaged badly with finger prints and signs that someone else had used it. It sat in my basement for over a month with them unwilling to give me any discount for the time consuming process i was put through, not even a single apology. they tried multiple times to make it so i couldn't return when i was rightfully in there return permeameters. Almost 2 months later it is finally gone and have been fully reimbursed. I do not recommend Best Of Backyard. read more

Amazing service. Contacted them and inquired about a grill as gift for my husband and they let me know while they didn't have it in stock , that they would order it , and all could be done via phone. I purchased nearly $3k worth of grill components for an outdoor kitchen build. The items were shipped on a single pallet all stacked and wrapped tightly. Unfortunately, 2 of the components were bent (likely from a heavy component being stacked on top of a box that was packed on its side, rather than on its base, which caused it to bend like a taco). However, since I didn't open the packaging until 3 weeks later (because my stonemasons weren't done with the kitchen until then) and since I didn't take pictures of the packaging prior to opening, I am SOL. They literally told me that other customers just "bend it back." I was not offered any compensation at all. I cannot recommend this company. read more

My husband and I just bought a full BBQ grill set for our backyard. ( including the doors, drawers etc...). We were overwhelmed with options and different grill sizes. Mike took 40 minutes and stayed on the phone while we picked our grill then the doors/drawers one at a time ( online). Not only he was knowledgeable on the brands and styles but his patience, kindness and professionalism was bar none. He truly made our experience a great one. On our second phone call My husband felt like He was talking to a friend rather than a store owner/sales person. They have very good products but their quotes of delivery times is way off!! Staff is extremely poor at communicating with the customers. They promise to call you about order status but never do. You have to continually call yourself and inquire about the status of your order, even after the manager say they will call you. Also they have no control of the delivery time from PCM products and this hurts their relationship with Best of Backyard customers. Not happy with my experience at all and would caution any other customers to be careful. read more

A long search with various Island stores ended with this one. Eric listened carefully to my desires and tailored my Island to my liking and within my budget. I love that I was able to see a 3D dimensional of my Island prior to purchasing. They have many designs, colors and tile designs to choose from. I was in the market for a outside portable sink. I searched Amazon and the Lion product came up in my search. It displayed a picture of an outside sink. The customer review mentioned the faucet was leaky. The "often bought with" showed two of the same picture of the sink. It was $149. I purchased it. Upon delivery, it was only a stainless steel shelf. I immediately contacted the company. In the email I explained the misrepresentation on Amazon. They would not waive the restock fee, I called and spoke with Valerie, customer serv rep. She, and her manager Eric also would not waive the fee, I could only exchange. I asked if they had a portable sink, and she looked and told me they did not, so not an option for me. I explained I understood but in this case the product was misrepresented and they don't have the product I need. They said I was welcome to file a complaint. Shameful. All over $29 dollars. Bad customer service. Beware if you purchase something more costly than I. read more
