My apartment maintenance reinstalled the original Emerson thermostat, and decided to hire a professional to complete the install. First tech visit: Before Cham installed my thermostat, my A/C was working perfectly with the original thermostat - blowing cold/warm air with no issues. After he installed the Honeywell thermostat, the heat worked but the A/C was NOT working. It was blowing warm air instead of cold. I checked and told him the A/C wasn't blowing cold air. He told me to "wait it out" and "take his word for it" that it would eventually come on. I had to leave for work, so I paid his invoice and just trusted him. When I got home at 9 PM, I set the A/C to 60F when the room was 73F. After running for an entire hour, the temperature stayed at 73F. I texted him at 10 PM to report the A/C wasn't working. Second tech visit: He came back and claimed the problem was low refrigerant levels. He took refrigerant readings with the Honeywell thermostat installed when it was 30F outside. He himself stated that refrigerant levels should only be measured when outdoor temperature is at or above 65F. Yet he took readings at 30F. At my request (maintenance required the original thermostat to be reinstalled for work orders), he said reinstalling the original Emerson would cost $100. I agreed to pay because I thought maybe there really was a refrigerant issue. I paid the $100 (now $250 total invested). He reinstalled the original thermostat and immediately the A/C started blowing cold air. I told him it was now blowing cold air. He claimed it didn't appear to be blowing cold air despite me feeling it clearly blowing cold. He had taken another refrigerant reading with the original thermostat at 33F outside and claimed both readings were "almost identical." The the A/C worked perfectly with the original thermostat and didn't work with his Honeywell installation. If refrigerant was truly the issue, the A/C wouldn't have worked with either thermostat. He then suggested I return my Honeywell and buy a new one to prove the thermostat was defective (not his installation). It was past the return window, so I would've had to buy another $90 thermostat. He said if the new one worked, it would prove the first thermostat was bad. If it still didn't work, he wouldn't charge me again. At this point, I had paid $250 and saw his story wasn't adding up so I hired another HVAC professional. Before tech started work, me and the tech tested both heat and A/C together. Everything worked perfectly. The tech installed the exact same Honeywell thermostat that Cham from SuperTec had installed (the one where A/C wasn't working), and now BOTH heat and A/C work flawlessly.

Never hesitate to get a second opinion. He then suggested either a complete rewiring or a new unit (trying to force us into a new unit as he claimed rewiring parts wouldn't be able to be sourced. However, I…read morefeel I need to share my story with anyone thinking of calling this company for their furnace needs. We bought a house back in 2012 and were given a home warranty that would last one year. We've renewed this warranty every year and up until last year they would always send out All-Knight when our furnace would act up. Our furnace would act up about every four months. It wouldn't blow out any hot air, it would try to kick on but just couldn't. We would call the home warranty folks, they would send out All-Knight. The tech would go in the basement, hang out for maybe ten minutes and say it was all fixed! It was just a dirty heat sensor. And the furnace would work again.....for about four months. We dealt with All-Knight so often that we were on a first name basis with the receptionist, Brenda. We almost invited her over for Thanksgiving!! After YEARS of dealing with this, our home warranty company finally switched to a different HVAC company. Last fall the furnace wouldn't work as usual, we called like we always did. However, this time they sent out an unfamiliar face, a gentleman who was not from All-Knight. He took one look at our furnace and asked "Who has been messing with this furnace???" As soon as I said All-Knight he recognized the name and said I am not the first customer to throw out that name when having constant furnace issues. I told him that it should only take him a second to fix because it's always the heat sensor according to All-Knight, and he just shook his head. He worked on it for about 30 minutes and it has never broken since. It's been over a year!! I think the evidence is pretty clear that the home warranty company as well as us, were scammed all those years. I would avoid these guys at all costs!! Or your cost may be way higher than you could ever dream of!!

I wanted a Mitsubishi system--and what do you know, he revealed to me that my other Mitsubishi quote from another dealer was full of bunk. Go figure. So, I took him up on his offer. I asked for quotes on both the low and high end system; I chose the low end system. Here's where it gets interesting: they brought the high end system instead, due to some paperwork mixup. They spent about an hour figuring things out for themselves, and in the end came to me with the offer: "we'll just let you keep this and get it installed today for the low end system price, it's just easier". I actually went to Toops for a second opinion after the initial company told me I may need to take down a wall, which sounded like too big an undertaking. Cody came out and explained what the plan was, what he noticed as far as my current system and specs, and priced it all out for me. He even waited until I was at a break during my work from home to go over everything. The price was much lower than the initial company and did not require any walls to come down! Mike and Cody quickly got me set up with a new system and answered all the questions I had.
