IYKYK. Local gem in Glendale area that you don't want to miss. Best Shawarma is located on a quiet street a few minutes away from the Americana. One of my favorite Mediterranean joints, that I wish was a shorter trek from LA. There can be a wait during peak hours, so call around 15 mins before you arrive so you can get your food right away! They have 2-3 small tables outdoors, but this place is mainly for takeout. My go to is the lamb shawarma wrap. The wrap is dense - filled with grilled lamb shavings, cabbage mix, cilantro with plenty of dressing and shawarma sauce that is so, tangy, creamy and addicting! My boyfriend is now on a "health kick", and orders the house salad with lamb topping which is essentially the deconstructed version of the wrap with more veggies. Quite a hefty portion and just as good! Once the pandemic is over, I'd love to get catering from here. And also have yet to try their DIY kabob skewers that you grill at home. read more

Not only was I hung up on multiple times when I was trying to call to ask what was in the shawerma wrap, but after 6 failed attempts I finally had my husband call from a different number and the person who picked up dealt with him nicely. I'm guessing I was being hung up on because my first call was put on hold for over 5min ( so thinking I got forgotten, I hung up and called back ) that's when they proceeded to keep hanging up on me. So, my husband places the order and I go to pick it up. Let's start with no one in there is wearing a mask. Whatever, let's get past that too. My shawerma wrap was actually good, however my husband's lule was burned to a crisp. Onto my biggest issue. I do not use this particular debit card ANYWHERE. it always sits in my purse which is usually at home now because im pregnant and don't like carrying a heavy purse around. My husband told me to take that debit card and use it to get the food. So, I did. The next day someone adds my card to their Google play and tries to make a $83.50 purchase from the Ralph's on Central. This is the only place I have used my card in the past 2 months. Be careful of their square reader. Here is the owners response to my review. The man at the front desk was very friendly and he told me the fries portions are huge and i only need 2 portions of fries, not 3. He was definitely right. The fries are the thick and seasoned, put-the-potato-back-together type of french fries. The plate comes with one rolled pita, rice, hummus, and a little salad. The meat is spread on top of the rice, and then the sauce is drizzled on top of the meat, beautiful instagram art. Portions are huge.. i think you could easily split a plate with 2 people or split a plate and a side with 3 people. Staff makes an effort to be on a first name basis. Best Shawarma really goes out on a limb with their name, but it's really really good and definitely my favorite anywhere remotely nearby. I used to live right around the block from this spot in Glendale and it was my go-to for a few years. Fast forward to today, I still haven't found a better spot for shawarma! The plates come with a hefty portion of rice and freshly sliced and oven crisped shawarma, hummus, salad, and a large pita. They cover the meat in this sauce which i would compare to In-n-Out's spread which we all know is delicious. The shawarma is juicy and yet crispy, and they really give you a generous portion in the plates.
