    Pork shawarma

Simple, delicious food, just like in Armenia. Got a pork and a lamb shawarma. They are large, plenty of food on their own, without getting sides. The owner is very welcoming.

Delicious food friendly service. We ordered wraps and fries all were delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful, JacobV educated us on the ordering process and gave us suggestions for next time. He and the other staff made an effort to get to know us. There are some tables to eat there but it's kinda small. There was plenty of parking. I will return and order another wrap.

Everything 10/10 the food, the costumer service... They even took the time to explain the food and gave us Sumac packets

I ate here on a Wednesday and from Thursday to Monday, I had an upset stomach. Employee was nice. Small parking lot for the plaza. Might be difficult to find parking on busy times. Food definitely was not fresh. The hummus was very dry for some reason. The rice was also not fresh. On a good note, I lost some weight.

Right off the back, as we walk in we're greeted with some of the greatest people I've ever met. Scottie and the other chef, let us sample some beverages, and food. Let me just say, the hospitality and flavor is everything. Genuinely felt like we were a part of the family. I can't thank you guys enough for letting us enjoy this restaurant and your warm welcomes. May God bless you guys endlessly.

Okay, I know I'm really late writing this review (life has been busy, but I had to come on here and talk about this place because WOW. My husband and I visited about a month ago, and I can confidently say this was the best shawarma I've ever had and I don't say that lightly. The name of this restaurant truly lives up to the hype. First, let's talk about the customer service. The owner was AMAZING so kind, welcoming, and confident in his food. You can tell he really knows his menu inside and out. He even gave us free fries, which was such a thoughtful gesture, especially since we drove all the way from Irvine. That alone set the tone for the whole experience. Now the food!! We tried three shawarmas: chicken, lamb, and beef. The chicken shawarma was my absolute favorite juicy, perfectly seasoned, and the house sauce?? SO GOOD. Second for me was the **lamb**, which was rich and flavorful. Then the beef, which was still delicious but just slightly behind the others for me. (My husband ranked them differently his favorite was the beef, then chicken, then lamb so honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them.) One thing that really stood out was the bread. He uses fresh lavash, and while you *can* choose other bread, I highly recommend sticking with it. It's soft, fresh, and honestly even better than pita. Also don't skip the drinks! He had this basil mint tea with cinnamon and cloves, and it was incredible. Refreshing, slightly spiced, and tasted super clean and healthy. I literally drank the whole thing immediately. The restaurant itself was very clean, smelled amazing, and we were greeted right away when we walked in. Overall: Customer Service: 10/10 Food Quality: 10/10 Cleanliness: 10/10 Hands down the best shawarma in Glendale. My husband and I will 100% be back. If you're thinking about trying it GO. You won't regret it.

I can't deny, one of the best shawarmas I have had in a while. They do have a lamb shawarma, which is somewhat a rarity these days. I got the Lamb Shawarma Wrap with lavash and it was great. Very classic Armenian style, nothing extra, just the meat, veggies, herbs, and the sauce. They use real charcoal for their grills so I am definitely coming back to try more.

Love their pork kabob, it's a must !!!!

I highly recommend their chicken shawarma in the French roll. I like that this place doesnt put too many unnecessary sauces.

Food is worth it! Their meat is already tasty but still goes very well with the sauce. Try the lamb shawarma wrap with lavash bread.

But it is without question the most important Armenian restaurant in the world. Armenians are simultaneously a diaspora people, a people of the book, and an old country people. Therefore, odd as it may seem, it is entirely appropriate that the most important Armenian restaurant in the world should not be located in Armenia at all, but should serve a diaspora community in a way that makes them feel connected to home, both interns of cuisine and in terms of communal warmth. Technically, this is more of a Lebanese restaurant than an Armenian restaurant, but that hardly matters. It's a place of celebration, merriment, laughter, and tears. In short, it is THE gathering place for Armenians in Southern California. Because of its fame and importance, the thing that is consistently overlooked about this restaurant is just how excellent the food is. Bring a Lebanese expat here and you will invariably hear them say after the first bite of hummus that it doesn't compare to the hummus they used to enjoy in Beirut. By the middle of the bowl, they will say that it actually is not as bad as they first thought. By the end of the bowl they will declare that this hummus ranks among the greatest they have ever tasted. Carousel does not overwhelm you. It seduces you. And you'll be back.

TLDR: Hear me out, if you have any doubt about chicken being less superior to beef or other meat. TRY the chicken thigh here. It makes justice for chickens (I still need to try their beef or lamb tho) I was running errands in Glendale today and I was starving and looking for lunch spots around. Turns out Mini Kabob was 3 mins walk away, it was a no brainer, my feet just took me there. Didn't expect to go there, so didn't order ahead but I'm fine with waiting. After last time's magnificent chicken thigh, I was determined to try their other entrees. However, Armen said the chicken thigh is the best seller out of their entrees- well, time for a round 2 I guess? This time I'm eating the entree at the spot and I just gotta say- IT SLAPS!! I'm genuinely not a big fan of chicken, because when you can choose beef why chicken? But this chicken is so juicy, so tender, so heavenly. Yummy!! The garlic sauce is great but the hummus and the fresh lavash, h o l y - f. Last time it was already so good even as a leftover, and eating it right at the spot is just transcending. I also tried their Armenian pear soda, it's delicious and refreshing with the heat right now in summer. I left with my tummy happy and their service is always great, they get busy but still no attitude, no bs, gives the right recommendations. Even this is like a take out restaurant, it still surpasses most of the kabob restaurant. Without doubt I'm coming back again after their break, please be there. I love you mini kabob

That's not all, tip will also be requested when checking out. Our Visit: My family and I have visited Elena's before and had a good experience, which is why this visit was so disappointing. This time, we noticed a clear drop in food quality, portion sizes, overall service and an unexpected new surprise on the bill. I came in with my wife, our two young children (10month old and 2 year old), and my mom. Unfortunately, the pita bread was stale, a portion of my wife's chicken was undercooked, the portions were noticeably smaller than before, and the server completely forgot my mom's drink. Those issues alone were frustrating, but what really stood out were the added fees at the end, fees that were not charged in the past. We were charged a 20% "large party fee", along with an additional "service fee". When I spoke with the owner, he explained that their system automatically applies a large party charge to any group of 4 or more people, including babies who don't even order food. That threshold seems unusually low, especially since most places consider 6 or more a "large party" and from my experience typically don't consider babies 2 years and younger as occupants. Even more concerning, none of these fees were clearly communicated to us beforehand. Being surprised with multiple charges at the end of a meal feels misleading and leaves a bad impression. To add to that, after already including these fees, the payment process still prompts customers to leave an additional tip. I've only seen this type of fee structure at higher-end restaurants and for more people, not at a casual spot like this, and even then it's usually disclosed upfront. If a business is going to charge extra, the service and overall experience should reflect that. My recommendation for Elena's, if you want to make more money, just raise your food prices so your customers at least know how much they're going to spend at the end. Not slap surprise charges at the end and force your customers to pay. On a positive note, at least they were playing Fast and the Furious on their TV. PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL. Please be aware of their shady business practices.
