While I can barely remember most of this event because my toddler was possessed by a demon creature through 90% of the meal, I do remember the food being really tasty. My friend (whose child was so well-behaved it was almost ironic I was with her) started us off with the spring rolls and they were really tasty! I loved the dipping sauce and could have definitely eaten fifty of these so I'm glad the plate ran out when it did! Then I got to try a curry that she ordered and this was ALSO fantastic, definitely something I'd look at ordering the next time I'm in (likely without the toddler, or I'll just order to-go). I ordered the pad thai myself and the portion for this was gigantic. It comes with the veggies and stuff to the side so I immediately stirred it all up and started trying to eat it while keeping my toddler from destroying the restaurant. Anyone with kids knows that this means you don't eat much. Benefit was that I got to have the rest of my pad thai for lunch the next day and it was still JUST as tasty. My husband and I order takeout here frequently. We think that there are different chefs for dinner vs lunch because the food always tastes a lot better at dinner and the egg is placed is different. We are fans of the Pad Thai and the Thai fried rice. I think this place makes the best Pad Thai. I can't comment on how authentic the food is. My husbands go to dish at any Thai restaurant is Pad See Ew, which I think is just meh here. I think the Thai tea here is too sweet and not enough tea flavor. Ran in to place a to go order for lunch. Asked for pad woon sen medium spice and the dish came out with zero flavor and definitely no spice. Tried this place out for a quick lunch. There were many options, but I decided for thai food. I ordered their thai tea and coffee to start off. It wasnt that great. I lost my appetite when we were seated and the waitress reached across the in front of us and took all the condiments away from us because we have children. She didn't even say excuse me and told us families with kids don't receive condiments. They also don't know how to say excuse me when they reach across the table to grab your plates. They have no home training. I asked to speak with the owner and of course he refused to speak with us. So now I understand where the staff gets there attitude from. Nothing memorable about the place, other than how cold it was inside the place. The food is mediocre at best for thai food. The Spring rolls were full of cabbage and lettuce and the shrimp was not even folded into the roll, just placed on top. The "peanut sauce" was watered down and all you could taste was chili and sweet syrup. The Tom Kha was also watered down, the coconut was not rich like in other places I have had the soup, very little herbs used to condiment. The curries - red and yellow curry were ok but not great in flavor, the chili can mask a lot of things. They give you plenty of steam rice. We split a bunch of appetizers and Pad Thai. I feel like you can judge most Thai places by their Pad Thai the way you can judge a dirty taco stand by...not getting food poisoning (b/c they all taste good, right?). Flavor explosion in my mouf! I've had Thai food from authentic holes in the wall in the Los Angeles area to more popular places, and to several around DFW. But I must say, the flavors I experienced here put the other places down in rank. Ordered the Pad Kee Mow with chicken, and my coworker got their Pad Thai - which she'd already had and raved about. I got to taste some of the Pad Thai and wow...one of the best I've had. It wasn't overly sweet like some places make it. It was more savory with the right amount of sweetness to round it all out. Hers was with shrimp, and they were juicy and cooked just right (although with tails). The Pad Kee Mow was off da charts good! The noodles were hearty and the veggies were a great variety, and paired so good with the sauce it was all tossed in. The chicken was plentiful and tender. The ratio of noodles to meat was also very good, where as some places use more noodles than meat...booooo. :-b Prices are great, with these dishes running in the $7.99 range, and the portions are pretty big! Service is very friendly and quick. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the sewer smell you're greeted with when you walk in the door. :- / The place itself looks clean, but I wonder why it stanks so bad up front. If it's something with the plumbing, hopefully they can get that looked at/fixed soon. We had a terrible experience here. When our order was taken the owner told us the kitchen needed to close early due to an emergency. Not even halfway through our meal, the owner gives us the check and then asks us if we wanted to-go boxes!! She then tells us they need to close the restaurant early and not just the kitchen. It would have been nice to know about this when we first walked in. Anyway after having a terrible experience and being still charged for it, we left in haste. My friends and I decided to eat at this location for Valentine's Day 2014. The place was jam packed with every table full so walking in we knew there would be a wait but we were instantly acknowledged by the staff who were busily bussing the patrons already seated. Within about 5 to 7 minutes we had our table and were seated and given our menus... Which are quite extensive but not to the point of being overwhelming. They're just the right amount! Suffice to say, the service was good, the waitress was attentive despite the full house there that night, the food was excellent and made to order, and I definitely had overall a fantastic experience! I've been there on other nights, in less busy conditions, and the staff are just as polite and willing to serve your culinary needs. Dunno if it was just a stroke of luck, but the Thai today at Best Thai really hit the spot. Thanks goodness...cuz I have been hankering for a Thai fix! I haven't had much luck finding a good or consistently good Thai restaurant since we moved to the North Dallas area from Austin earlier this year. So, color me happy that today my zero expectations were greatly surpassed with regards to my Pad Thai and Tom Kha Gai order today. My Pad Thai noodles were cooked perfectly and the sauce was well flavored, not too sweet, and a touch spicy. The Tom Kha was also perfectly balanced - sweet coconut milk, sour/salty fish sauce, and a touch of red pepper spice. Hubby had Massman Curry, he seemed to enjoy it (as he ate it all). However, I don't think it was nearly as good as what I ordered...nor as good as other Massman Curry iterations I've had at other restaurants. Really maybe 3 stars, but I'm giving it an extra for coming through in the clutch...and my hope that it delivers on the next visit. read more

The tom kha was white instead of orange, and tasted like they'd brought the wrong soup. I've eaten tons of tom kha too, and this just wasn't it. I personally wasn't fond of this version. It was pretty small for $7. The salad rolls with shrimp were awesome but very small for $2 each. The fried ice cream was good. The outside shell was more cake donut than tempura. The server was nice, but she brought the main course before the appetizer. They did keep my water glass full though. After I paid, she folded napkins while chatting in an Asian language with her phone speaker at about 80 decibles. I dont think I'll be back in case the other dishes are as off as the tom kha. EDIT: I spent the latter part of yesterday sick to my stomach and in the bathroom . That's when I changed my two stars to one. Stay away. read more
