This is my first time here and I'm having a really good experience. The staff is really kind and the food is amazing. I got the pan fried dumpling, spicy wontons w/chili sauce and beef soup dumplings... all of which were fantastic. Will definitely be coming back. Prices are very affordable too!

Finally got a chance to check this out with some friends, and it did not disappoint. It is a smaller venue but when I arrived with a party of 6 we were able to get sat right away. The server was friendly and never let out water run out. As you can tell my the photos we had a bit of everything and everything was delicious. The highlights were: The sweet and spicy porn ribs. They had great flavor and were great for sharing. Not really that spicy so don't let the name fool you. The Shanghai Style Fried Noodles were a hit with everyone. We did chicken and beef and the noodles were perfectly made and the flavors shown through in the dish. Green Beans. I'm not even a veggie person but theses were delicious. The spicy wontons. No one at the table had a bad thing to say about them. The lowlights: Shanghai Fried rice. Not that it was bad just wasn't my style of fried rice. Tasted more scallion forward than I would like. Chili spicy chicken appetizer (not pictured). Again, not that it was bad. It was extremely flavorful but didn't realize it was cold so was taken aback. I still would recommend giving a try as long as you know that. Fried Soup Dumplings. Again, not bad just not as good as the steamed ones. Definitely will be back again!

If you are in the Plano area...you lucked out with this amazing spot. It's a fairly small place with amazing decor and extremely clean. Service is spot on...as in they are ready to help you as soon as you get seated. It was somewhat odd that they gave us a paper to fill out what we wanted. Works out so you know exactly what you are getting. To start, we shared the Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs. These were on the appetizer menu, but what you get was a big serving - so much in fact that we took half of it home. The meat was cooked just right and the flavor was good. The spicy chili wontons are fire! Highly recommend getting them. Deliciousness overload! Can't wait to come back.

Amazing experience. The restaurant is small and cute, but very clean and fresh. You can see the workers prepare the food as you walk in. The food is very clean and sweet. We ordered the 桂花糖藕 and the 鱼香肉丝 which were seasonal items. The food came out fresh. Crab xiaolongbao 蟹小笼包 were really unique and delicious. The cucumber salad was great and we also ordered the chocolate xiaolongbao and the another soup bun dish (弄堂生煎包) too. If I didn't live so far away I would go back much more often. But still I am glad I was able to come in today.

HIT AFTER HIT!! Still hits the spot after a year later. Food is so hot and service is kind and fast. The music is always on point. Don't miss out on all this flavor!

The staff was awesome and very accommodating of special dietary concerns and working around toddlers and an infant that covered the floor with a rice decor. The Shanghai style vegetable dumplings were a big hit. Shanghai vegetable fried rice was my nom nom but you must tell them no sausage. Shanghai fried noodles was a big hit. Noodles were fresh and not over cooked. Really enjoyed and will return.

Casual environment and there's only a few tables and not ideal for big parties. The food was great, everything we had was very tasty. The floors were very slippery so beware in case you eat a ton and are off balance you can slip.

10/10 spot!!! Quick service and everything tasted delicious! Small space but intimate enough to enjoy conversation.

We dined at Shanghai Taste with my brother and sister in law. Everything was yummy! My brother ordered for us so I'm not entirely certain what we had but it was tasty. The dumplings are soup dumplings, so think bursting. We enjoyed bok choy and garlic green beans, in addition to three different types of dumplings and noodles. Their beverage offerings can use improvement. I'd love to see them offer hot tea. It does not appear they have a beer/wine license which could potentially be in the works since my brother said they are fairly new. A cold beer could pair rather nicely with their menu. Service was great! Would definitely recommend if soup dumplings are your jam. Pretty popular spot, with limited seating (something to consider as you may have to wait for a table, we didn't but as we dined several other parties did).

Very delicious!! Everything is really good! I love the soup dumplings and pan-fried buns! They are the must-haves!

Came early on a Sunday at 11:30am. (It was packed by 12:30 - so go early if you have flexibility). Was the first time for a couple of us in our lunch party. Place is cute, comfortable, and small (hence limited seating - several folks were waiting by the time we left). Service was friendly and prompt. Our food came out very quickly. (Seemingly randomly though). We had: pork XLB, veggie dumplings, pan fried, buns, scallion pancakes, wonton soup, hot and sour soup, sautéed shanghai noodles, and sautéed veggies which was Chinese broccoli. The broccoli was well made and tasted good. Highlights were the XLB (not as thinned skin as perfection would have it, but super tasty nonetheless), the scallion pancakes (the dough was flakey, delicious, and perfectly done - we would have liked even more scallions in there, but it was excellent anyway), and the pan fried pork buns (which were not made as traditionally so it was less dough, more compact, super crispy on the bottom, and the inside was filled with tasty broth and the meat was delicious). Wonton soup was standard. Hot and sour soup had lots of good ingredients but was lacking in sourness (needed more vinegar in my view, though one of my friends loved it because it was more "mild" than usual). Noodles were overly greasy but did have a good taste if you could overlook the oil. And 2 out of 3 of us liked the veggie dumplings but they weren't necessarily special in any way. Would definitely recommend this place - prices are reasonable as are the portion sizes. Will be back!

Decided to try this out for lunch and so glad we decided to check it out. Restaurant is long and narrow, wouldn't say its for large crowds unless you were the first to come in and take the tables. Everything so good and juicy. Everything was fresh, made to order. There is a window when you first come in and you see them making the dumplings. Everything was 5/5 IMO except for the fried chicken. The fried chicken was 3.5 /5. Again chicken was tender but can have a little more flavor compared to everything else we had. - Soup dumplings were thin, juicy and soup flavor was great. - pan fried dumplings - juicy and love the crunch - Crispy shrimp - nice crunchy shell and it was pulled to the side so it very easy to just eat the shrimp if you don't want to eat the shell -chicken fried rice was again very flavorful and chicken was very moist - chili wonton - not spicy but very good. We save some of its chili sauce to each with the rest of the food. Scallion pancakes - came out like and hot.

Skin looked crispy but was not. Supposed to come with a mandarin sauce. Sauce I got had to be just soy & hoisin. No citrus flavor at all and very thin and salty. Oversalted potato slices, gummy rice & no veg. 2) Secret steak menu $63 - Sous vide ribeye was large and my husband liked it. This was also served with oversalted potato slices, no veg. 3) Slow braised pork $28 - Pork cut was pork belly which would have been nice to mention on the menu. My son wouldn't have chosen that entree if he knew that was the cut. It was a gelatinous mountain of darkened fat in a salty sauce. The bok choy was fine, simply steamed and unremarkable. Gummy rice. 4) Scallion pancake $8 - greasy and very light on scallions. Meh. 5) Blue crab & cheese wontons $12 - Very little filling, though what was in there was good. Mostly hard crispy wonton, not light or airy. The dipping sauce was giving mango baby food vibes. 6) Cocktails - Lychee Grapefruit Martini $13 and Baby Boulevardier $15 were good. 7) Bathroom was dirty and trach can overflowing onto the floor at 7pm on a Sunday night. 8) Had at least 4 different servers approach our table to take our orders and every time we tried to order they said they'd come back later due to the time it would take for the sous vide steak to finish cooking. It would have been nice to have a single server coordinate that timing with the kitchen instead of a parade of different people ask us to order and then leave when they heard there was a steak working. 9) Table had a view of a wine room that looked more like a storage room with lots of random cardboard boxes. 10) When they cleared the table and took the steak board away there was a greasy puddle under it that was never wiped up by anyone despite us remaining at the table for some time afterward. Overall yes on the steak & cocktails and that's about it. Would def not return. At that price point I was expecting fine dining and was sadly disappointed.

Some notable items on the menu include soup dumpling and noodle soups. There are chef's recommendations on the back of the menu. Those same recommendations are also hanging up against the wall. Order at the register, get a number card, grab a seat and wait for your food to be brought to you table. Water and utensils are self service. Someone will come by to bus the table when you're done. I am unsure when payment happens as we paid after ordering, but we saw others pay after eating. Maybe you get to choose or it depends on what or how you order? We ordered the Jelly Tofu (salted), Jelly Tofu (sweet), JiangNan Style Ham, Chinese Dough Stick, Signature Crab & Pork Xiao Long Bao, Pan Fried Forest Farm Pork Bun. Jelly Tofu (salted) - Overall, it was refreshing. It had cilantro, wood ear, shiitake mushroom, and a salty broth. Jelly Tofu (sweet) - This was not sweet at all. I was completed surprised by the flavor. The liquid was wine (酒酿). Maybe that's how it's supposed to be in Jiangzhe cuisine but I did not like it. JiangNan Style Ham - It was chewy and refreshing. It was good. Chinese Dough Stick - It was average. I wish I had some soy milk to go with it, but the soy milk was sold out by the time we arrived. Signature Crab & Pork Xiao Long Bao - There is a very strong fishy flavor. Fishy flavor is usually good but it was so strong that it overpowered the rest of the dish. Even eating it with the vinegar didn't help. On top of that, the dumplings were completely stuck to the paper and the dumplings would rip releasing all of its soup juices. This is not my first time dealing with soup dumplings so I totally get that it is a delicate process, but this was almost beyond master level chopstick skills. Pan Fried Forest Farm Pork Bun - It was pretty good. It was also filled with soup which is hot and explodes everywhere if you are unawares. Be careful. 牛肉酥饼 - It was 酥 enough but the filling was average. The price is a bit expensive for the most average quality that you get.

The dumplings come out piping hot, there is the perfect amount of soup to filling ratio. The dumplings sorta melt in your mouth and are very flavorful, just writing this review has me wanting to drive over for an order! I've also tried the duck soup, wonton soup, Shepherds purse wonton soup, seaweed salad, traditional dough stick, pork buns, steamed dumplings, and the King Pao chicken. My kids love the traditional dough stick both said it reminded them of the beignets they had when we visited New Orleans. They only wished there was powdered sugar to add to them lol! The soups were tasty, my personal favorite is the wonton soup the wontons has a decent amount of filling and was seasoned well, not to salty like I've experienced at a few other places. My sister enjoyed the King Pao chicken, she said it was one of the better ones she has tasted. My husband loves the steamed buns and steamed dumplings.
