When the restaurant initially opened, food was consistent. I went in today, no strips, nuggets or tails which is understandable. I ordered a 2 piece fillet. It appeared that the 1 fillet had been halved to create 2 pieces. I did not appreciate paying 15 bucks for a bed of fries and literally 1 fillet . Many restaurants do this but initially best thing flopping had whole fillets but now it seems as if they have jumped on the bandwagon of splitting one to make 2. This is unacceptable as a consumer considering this isn't how things were initially. If inventory is low please don't cheat the customer. Consistency plays a large part in keeping the doors open. This. Place did not disappoint on this day! I ordered the 2pc tails catfish! I had to wait 30 minutes but that was not a problem. I had time to spare. This fish travels well in that it is so cooked to order that it remained hot all the way home a short 7-10 miles away. The inside of the location was clean and did not smell of an overwhelming smell of fried foods! That is a plus! The restaurant was clean and tidy. There was no music playing perhaps they could play a little something. It was peaceful and quiet while I waited for my order to be prepared. Service is everything! I have been to this new location twice since it opened and the service is as terrible the 2nd time as the 1st time. Today, the woman behind the counter did not address myself and my daughter at all. She walked left and right behind the counter doing whatever, then she grabbed one of the 7 backs and called the customer to pick up her bag. The customer's friend came to pick up her order as well. The customer was provided one meal but mentioned that she paid for two. They had to get that together. About 7 minutes later (still being completely ignored), she starts to do something else, then grabs another order and calls the customer's name (not there at the moment). Eventually, she came to us and took our order. Just rude and unprofessional. After placing our orders, we left and informed the cashier that we would return in 15-20 min. Once returning, there was a couple still considering what they want to order and my order is sitting on the counter behind the cashier (no other orders). She stood there, waiting for them to review the menu and ignored me until they figured out what they want and placed their order. Once home, the fish was decent, but the bag smelled like something had burned. The food was cooked in old grease and you could look at the fries to confirm. Terrible service. I was super excited about this place since it's hard to find a good place for catfish around this area. We had tried this place once before, and the catfish was really good. Unfortunately, we will not be back because the customer service was horrible and disrespectful. I'm not sure if it was the owner or who, but the person upfront was highly disrespectful to my wife and other customers today. We ordered a six-piece catfish dinner, and they told us it was going to be an hour. We ended up saying fine and came back after an hour and waited another 30 minutes, and still, no food was ready. My wife asked a lady how much longer, and they said another 45 minutes. The person upfront, which I think is the owner if I'm not mistaken, started yelling and banging on the table, yelling, "Who wants their refund? Who wants their refund? If not, you're going to have to wait." Needless to say, my wife and five other people got their refund. I don't go to a restaurant to get yelled at, especially when I spent close to $70 on the bill. Waited 20 minutes for my food and drove back to Grand Prairie, only to find it was still hot. Now when I want catfish I have to make a 25 minute drive. But I definitely will. When you first walk in, it's more like a bar than a restaurant. Overall, the girl who was taking orders was nice but due to her being busy and trying to keep up with the orders, some of her customer service was lacking a little bit. I also attempted to call in the order before going there, but was told that I had to give my card over the phone which I'm not comfortable with so I went in. The service was actually pretty quick although she was telling most people 25 to 30 minutes I think I waited maybe 15 or 20 minutes. Now, as far as the catfish go, it was a decent seasoning on it not overly salty not overly seasoning could've used a tiny bit more seasoning also needed to be cooked in my opinion a little bit more the fish was kind of breaking apart, and it wasn't as crunchy as it could be. Also, the fries were very soggy. Now the links were just not it. They were very overcooked very dry and burnt they come with a side of barbecue sauce, which I think it's just basic barbecue sauce. Also, I really don't like fish places that don't make their own tartar sauces. Place was busy so I know plenty of people like their food. It's was really good I mean the fish was seasoned and had good taste and texture and the fries were good and seasoned and the links were just a great add on because the fish was good size pieces. I LOVE SEAFOOD! Except conch! I was just made aware of this place so I went at the busiest time, 5:00 on a Friday. There were quite a bit of vehicles l and thought maybe I hit jackpot but also noticed a few other businesses in the same parking; didn't have a problem parking. When I opened the door I met a line of people and I really thought "this is where it is" While in line the menu was lit up that I could see at the end of the line. The line went fast and I ordered my fish, bone & fillets; it comes with fries, bread & peppers. There was a 30 min wait but there was place to sit or sit in your car and wait. I did ask if they had a cold beer for the wait and there's no liquor license (can't blame them). I sat inside and chatted with everyone waiting for food for 30 minutes. I did notice they have a great exhaust fan or whatever the lingo is for pulling the oil out the building. If there's tea cakes still available, I suggest you grab a few bags.
