We took our cushions to them and asked them to replace the foam with a stronger filling. Mr. Sanches told us how he would do the work and told us he would order the materials. In about a week he would form the materials to custom fit the shape needed. He called in less then a week. We picked the cushions up and after inspection them, he helped us put them in our SUV and guided us out onto the street. We are very satisfied with his work.

Their prices were the best in town and given the great work they did on the neighbor's chair, we chose them. (Not to mention they are just a few blocks away). They picked up the furniture and it was done in less than two weeks! It just arrived and looks amazing. All is of the highest quality work, and the price was really reasonable. We got this old chair from a thrift store that looked brand new. When we sat on it it didn't feel…read morebrand new. Why? Because the foam had turned brittle and crumbly and felt like a punishment for your rear... So what were we to do? Find a local reupholsterer and get new foam put in place of the s&m cushion. Being a fan of Square One for brunch and Fernando de Manila for my alterations, i wanted to give the custom furniture shop next door a chance. So that what i did today. Roland was very friendly, and honest about the pricing. I expected it to be between $30-$50 for a custom form fitted foam job (foam job sounds dirty). I was quoted a price on the lower end of my expectation so i left the lime green chair seat pillow there for him to make better. He is getting the gross old foam out, cleaning the fabric a little and replacing it. I could have bought the foam elsewhere and cut it myself for a little less, but really i have an odd fear of touching foam (it just feels really creepy. anyone else have that problem? i literally cannot touch foam without getting shivers down my spine. My friend Kerri makes fun of me about it.). Anyway, i will finish this review when i have it back from him. but i have good faith in Roland, or his son. As my friend Tai always says, "We shall see, we shall see...." ***Update*** Got the re-foamed cushion and it is great. Stuffed with a nicely cut block of foam the fits tightly. I should have known that they didn't take credit cards, but Roland never mentioned it so all i had was credit cards, my check book, and about $10 short of the cash needed. He seemed a little annoyed that i didn't have cash and pointed out the atm across the street at the convenient store. Well 30 minutes later i finally got cash at a liquor store since all the atm's apparently in the neighborhood were dead. So i gave him the cash and asked for a receipt, and he gave me another crazy look and asked me why i wanted a receipt... He wrote one out on the edge of a piece of computer paper and i left, feeling like i had asked him some offensive question. So all in all, they did a great job and the price was decent, but make sure to have cash and do not expect a receipt.

Anthony worked with me to arrange a tight schedule. I brought the seats in on Monday morning and they were done on Tuesday morning, which gave me plenty of time to get them screwed back onto the stools for 5:00 pm service in Pasadena. The seats look great and feel terrific -- what a change! They gave me a good deal on some very nice quality vinyl, and the overall cost was considerably less than what I was quoted by other vendors. Sometimes when a vendor hears "restaurant" they think "money" and quote what they think they can get away with and not what the job is actually worth.
