I had a very large 4 pane sliding vinyl door with a broken lock - it died in locked position. It is almost 20 years old but in excellent condition; and was made by a company that no longer exists: WindowMaster. I called a number of window/door companies and the only one who was interested in helping me was Best Value Glass. They cautioned me that door companies use different locks and it was very possible that they would not be able to replace the broken one. Scott showed up exactly on time, was able to force the door to unlock without causing any damage and installed a new lock that he had in the truck. Such a relief! I am really happy with these guys. They went above an beyond to accommodate our short timeframe. We were moving to our recently renovated house in Scripps Ranch, and they really pulled through. They came in and took measurements, explained the process to us thoroughly, gave us estimate date of arrival and installation, and discussed possible setbacks due to the entrance door restrictions and suggested remedies thereto. They installed all of our mirrored glass (huge wall size 3 pieces) - They cleaned the glass thoroughly after installing. And installed glass for a desk we had custom made - the desk was a bit off due to custom work and wood variation, however, the glass they installed was set perfectly in all 4 different sections of the desk thanks to their extremely accurate measurements and knowledgeable staff. No customer service and no communication within the company. They couldn't even find a piece of glass they picked up from me. I had to come out to the warehouse and identify it myself. I even called to make sure they provided the service before i started this waste of time. They then recanted saying only do it if they do the installation. Way to be up front with the customer and set expectations. The price was 25% over the estimated cost and all this was after speaking with the manager and phone rep to go over what I wanting to have done. When i was in the warehouse searching for my piece of glass another customer was there complaining that they ordered 4 of the same pieces of glass and one of them was 2 inches shorter that the others. How does this happen i mean did they fail kindergarten. Once of these things does not look like the other. They were also looking to find their order by the customer looking through the warehouse. I would recommend this place if you are looking to get the run around, paying twice as much as you should and want to spend a lot of time in the show room trying to get them to put their act together. They do windows... Steve had THE BEST PRICING on Milgard in San Diego County! He knows the product and came up with solutions when no other Milgard dealer could. Milgard has a very convincing "best warranty in the business" too. No games, just great effort and response. If you're shopping for replacement windows, you would do the right thing to include Best Value Glass in the process. I will definitely talk to Best Value again if/when I move and need new windows again! In Yelp terms 3-stars is what a company should do, that's the norm. There's way too many 5-star reviews for 3-star experiences. A four-star review is a high mark and Best Value deserves it for the out-of-the-box thinking to create a solution.
