He was not the cheapest, but his ability to work with you, deliver for you (in a reasonable time frame) and provide a high quality product made me very pleased. The one thing about Steve and his team is that they care a great deal what the final product looks like, they double and triple check the proper measurements and fittings and they bring all the options to the table for you. The terrible news is that he never responded to my requests to fix the problem. He ignored multiple texts, calls and reaching out through Yelp. The one thing that is inexcusable is no follow up to guarantee your work. Now I'm stuck with a shower door that leaks and other professionals refusing to fix it because they didn't do the original job and are afraid to take responsibility for the problem created by Steve's shoddy work. He had alcohol on his breath during the measure appointment but we figured maybe he had a beer with lunch. Big red flag we shouldn't have ignored. He took our 50% deposit promising installation the following week and 4 weeks later nothing but excuse after excuse. His "go to" excuse is he's been sick as others have said. Worse than one star: Stephen Quinn is unprofessional, and his work is of inferior quality. He arrived without the proper supplies and used the wrong sealant that he bought at Home Depot which did not dry. He came two more times after the initial installation to stop the frameless shower from leaking all over my floor. I hired Stephen to replace a custom framed glass shower that leaked. I now have a frameless shower that leaks and have spent four months of wasted time and money and will have to contract with another shower installer to adjust the glass and remove the blob of silicone he put at the bottom of the door to stop the leak. Initially he missed our first appointment to give an estimate in early July, second scheduled estimate he came 5 hours late. I should have quit there and gone with another company. Once I paid 50% of the contract, I could not contact Stephen and was positive my $940 was gone. He did not return calls or texts and said he was hospitalized twice. Excluding the hospitalizations, he was still a no show more than half the time for scheduled appointments. DO NOT HIRE STEPHEN QUINN, I do not know how he got five star reviews which is what I based my decision on. Originally all I wanted was my money back and to hire another of the companies from whom I received estimates. I kept asking for my money back at first as he had had it for 5 weeks and I could not get a hold of him, I was sure I was defrauded. He told me the turnaround was a couple of days from when I Zelle him the money to when the glass arrived and in one week the shower would be complete. Five weeks later when I finally reached him, he said the glass was ordered so I could not get my money back, which was all I wanted after starting this project in early July with his word that it was to be completed by August 16th. He finally arrived August 17th after being a no show or call on August 15th. He then proceeded to lie to me about what time he said he was coming to do the work. Each reschedule was me calling him to say, I sat home waiting, any professional would text or call to say they were not coming so I would not wait at home all day. I did not pay him the second half which he requested on installation even though I could not test the shower for 48 hours (he took $100 off the original estimate because of his failure to meet the agreed deadline.). I told him I was not paying until the shower worked since I know he is impossible to get hold of and if he did answer the phone and schedule something, he came four hours later or not at all. The current issue is the shower door is impossible to open and close. It has settled about a centimeter below the top of the two side glass panels. Again, he is not returning calls or texts and he said his workmanship was guaranteed when I asked about it not being in the contract. At least I have it in email. I know he will not come to fix the door and I will have to hire someone else. He asked me to not give my review which I told him was going to be bad and I held off until now. Currently I have been trying to reach him since October 24th over two weeks, I have sent two texts, placed two phone calls, and sent him one email. I asked for an estimate for hanging a shower door. I explained it would be attaching the door through 2 hinges, each needing 3 screws. The estimate I received was $500 plus tax. In addition to the estimate being way too high, I had never heard of asking customer to pay tax for labor so I didn't go for it. I ended up hiring a handyman and installation took less than an hour. I contacted Stephen to get a bid to replace some shower doors with bypass sliding doors. I sent photos, dimensions and basically provided everything to him so that he didn't have to do any work to prepare a bid. Three days later I received his quote and accepted the pricing. I was told that he could make it by early the following week to take field dimensions. Stephen never followed up with me to give me a day and time that he could stop by to take field dimensions. I pinged again. He said his daughter was sick so he couldn't make it the prior week as he said he would. Then, I never heard from again. So, in an effort to get the project moved along, I reached out again to see when he could come take measurements to get the work started. On August 7th, he emailed saying he would go over their schedule on 8/9 to ink a date for him to take measurements. By the 11th, I still had not heard back from him, so I emailed him to close the loop and told him that it appeared he was too busy to do my project. He offered no apology for wasting my time or for his completely unresponsive approach to my project. I spent over 5 weeks with this contractor trying to get him to measure my project and start the work. I did all of the work for him to price the job, then I accepted his pricing without any negotiation, and I was being as flexible as possible to meet his schedule, but the guy just flaked. Clearly, he has too much work and rather than just say he was too busy for the work, he strung me along for 5 weeks. I cannot recommend this company based on their extremely poor customer interaction, or lack thereof. read more
