Let me start by saying Roger, the proprietor, is an absolute gentleman and honest. A little backstory, I had bought a townhome and needed the chimney cleaned and inspected. It apparently had not been used in years. I needed to replace the chimney cap as it was old and even missing the animal guard around it, hence the dead bird that fell out of it when the home inspectors opened the dampener to inspect it. Since I had to go through an HOA, the company I used had to be licensed and bonded. Many other businesses aren't like that. The moment they heard they had to go through an HOA they weren't interested in my business. I even had another company looking to charge 1000s to try to upsell me services I didn't need. I needed a simple cleaning and a cap replacement. In comes Roger and he quoted me a very fair price. The approval process with the HOA was a pain and Roger even had to take the extra time out of his really busy schedule to resubmit paperwork because of the HOA. However he stuck with me the entire time and he could have easily refused to do the service. When he came, he and his partner were profession, courteous, quick, and neat. I asked him about things I might have needed to do and he told me I didn't need to. He could have told me anything to ensure he had continual business and make more money but he did not. That's integrity, which many businesses seem to lack today. For chimney services, I HIGHLY recommend Roger. I will add a bit of advice and a caveat. Because he is good, his prices are fair, and he is honest and above board, he seems to be in high demand. Just something to keep in the back of your mind when scheduling an appointment for services. Just as importantly, he is also licensed and bonded so if you have an HOA that's a stickler for that kind of thing, this business is the one that will fulfill those requirements. read more

I happened to look up at my chimney last week and to my horror noticed that many bricks were loose/missing with birds nesting in the cracks. Immediately turned to Yelp to find a chimney repair service and emailed Best Way Chimney Repair that evening. To my pleasant surprise the owner (Roger) called me 30 seconds later to discuss. He showed up promptly a couple of days later, diagnosed the issue and fixed it today. Roger showed us pics of the chimney interior showing that we badly needed a cleaning and liner installed (which had never been done). Best Way's pricing was very reasonable and they gave us a warranty on the liner and brickwork. Roger was great! He was recommended by The Fireplace Store in Wantagh (a very reputable store as well) to get our chimney set for a gas insert. We converted from wood to gas. Even though we supposedly had the Chimney "cleaned" after last winter, there was so much soot and ash in there that it was obvious the chimney company that came didn't clean it out at all. He took care of everything and got it all set for our conversion. Please ignore the one bad review from Jessica P. Communication errors happen and am sure things are so crazy when winter time is approaching. No need to bash a honest business for something like that. This company was excellent. Starting from the courtesy at the home office right through the actual work. We had a new damper put in for our fireplace. They came on time and did a great job. AND their price was the lowest that I had found. A short while later, I had to have them back because my fireplace wasn't drawing properly. Had Roger from Best Way out today to check whether my chimney needed cleaning. He advised me it didn't need cleaning, but he would line up the chimney with the liner properly, since when the furnace was installed several years ago, it wasn't done properly. At my request, he also re-cemented where the metal chimney meets the wall to the external chimney. When he came upstairs, he noticed the kitchen faucet didn't work properly. I was fortunate enough to find Roger during a cold snap during which my oil burner was smoking. Although the problem turned out to be furnace related, Roger was both kind and suppportive when I called him in a panic about whether this could be a chimney problem. He texted me to find out how things were progressing and offered to come out to insure that the problem was not chimney-related. I thanked him, but decided to wait for my oil burner service provider. After the dust settled and my furnace problem was dealt with, I called Roger to come out and check both the fireplace and boiler flues, since neither had been checked for many years. He called when he was on his way, checked everything out and recommended that my boiler flue could use replacement, but assured me that he was not an emergency and could wait until the spring. He refused to charge me for the visit, since he did not clean my chimney, although I urged him to let me pay him for his time. Started out with what I thought would be good as I heard back from Roger not long after leaving a message on a Sat. He listened to my issue of a water leak and believed he knew what the problem was and said I would receive a call on Monday to set up an appointment for an estimate but they wouldn't be able to get to the job till the end of the month. Well I receive a call and am told by Linda that there is no availability for an estimate till Dec. Are you kidding me!!!! Over a month for an estimate and then that they wouldn't be able to to the job till the Spring. Sorry but you guys need better communication with each other! I have been a customer of theirs for many years. I first met Roger at a home I had in HUNTINGTON. I was very skeptical of the whole " fireplace cleaning process". But I gave it a shot. I was referred to them by the company who installed my fireplace and could not be happier. Absolutely the most honest company I have ever dealt with. I did not need it cleaned every year. It's based on how much wood you burn every year. I sold that house and moved East. I had him come by and see if I needed a cleaning before I started to burn firewood. He said I did not and didn't charge me. Who does that? I burn 2-3 cords of wood every year and have him come clean it around September. I had him work on a house of a friend of mine yesterday. It was a repair of the exhaust for the burner that is in the garage. He came out, gave a fair estimate, and did the work. Everything looks great. Please don't use just any service. They are crooks. I had posted a review saying I was not happy with the cleanup from their installation of a stainless steel chimney liner. This was from 5 years ago. I didn't call him back at the time because I was caring for my elderly mother who had recently fallen and injured herself. When Roger saw my review, he personally contacted me, came back to my house, cleaned the chimney, re-cemented the connections, installed a new elbow, and climbed up on my roof to clean the chimney cap which had turned a little brown from an overhanging tree, despite it being a rainy, cold day. I've heard horror stories of chimney companies who make unnecessary repairs or overcharge customers. We were in the process of selling our house when we found out the chimney liner had to be repaired, as well as some masonry. We called for an estimate but wound up having the entire repair done that day in just about an hour for a very reasonable price. Best Way is reputable and does very good work. I called Best Way to come out to clean my chimney and check condition of chimney liner on Dec 1st. They were communicative that they needed to change appointment time then prompt to the minute, I found them extremely professional and polite. After a thorough inspection they said we did not need a cleaning at this time and in the not so distant future we would need to have the chimney relined. When I went to pay them for their services (they did come out and looked were here 20 minutes) they said no charge. I will definitely call them back when we need the job done. read more

WOW!!! I called to make the appointment for a chimney cleaning, they showed up early and after examining the chimney I was told the chimney is clean!
