We stayed last weekend at the Best Western, Jackson and with some trepidation I score it a 4 out of 5. First, when checking in, I noticed that they immediately put us on the second floor so I asked if they had elevators to which the clerk said, "no" to which I said, oh, no ADA compliance? "To which he said "what's that?" (I can tell he will one day be a manager in the hospitality industry.) I said, "that is the law that assures access compliance for folks with limited mobility." To which he said, "we are historical" (right, from the 1980's perhaps, not the 1880's. I am thinking that some mention should be made of this deficit in the listing on Hotels.com. No offer to look for a downstairs room, just, that was it. Fortunately my mobility issues are not critical (yet), but my impression of this place, where I had stayed twice before, became more so. The place was reasonably quiet, and if you set aside the fact that all upstairs and downstairs doors to the halls were apparently open all the time (no security locking) and the guy blowing copious amounts of dope, which wafted down the halls from the staircase landing, everything was just peachy. Let me start with the positives, They had a room available on a busy holiday weekend, great! The staff was friendly, great! Showers provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion, awesome! Breakfast was good and had lots of choices. Now the not so good; Half of the parking lot lights are out at night, its dark and doesn't feel safe at all. The pool was what I was mainly looking forward to, it doesn't look like the photos, its across the parking lot from the hotel rooms, and had almost no sun, its weird sitting out by a pool with cars driving by the whole time, but the worst part was that the pool itself is absolutely full of bugs, worse than the bugs, were the ticks! There were A ton of them! So the pool was a no go for us! Now as far as our room, we booked a single bed room, and got a double bed one, not the end of the world, but neither one of the beds were slept in, because they were not clean under the blankets, at all! Which seemed to be the theme throughout the entire room, the floors were filthy, with bugs crawling around on them also! The shower curtain was stained and had hair stuck to it, the sink also had hair stuck to it, the light bulb in the bathroom where the mirror is was out, the fan in the bathroom didnt work, and the shower didnt even get hot. If there had been another place in town with a room, we would have left almost immediately after arriving. Very disappointed especially for the outrageous price of almost $200 for one week night! read more

Staying at this Best Western as our team was in the area for work. Brenda was awesome at check-in. I cannot say enough nice words... However the quality of my room was something else.... Upon going to my room, it was discovered someone's hair was all over the bathroom area floor. I wiped up what I could with the anti-bacterial wipes. The bathroom floor had dirt on it. The shower curtain when wet did not stay closed.... Both sides moved down to the center of the shower bar. Either the shower rod was installed poorly or it was damaged. The shower fixture was installed poorly and was sagging sideways. The bathroom door appeared to be an exterior door... The floor in the main room had some leftover stuff on the floor.... The mattresses were tired and saggy. The door to the room was dirty; I wiped it down with an anti-bacterial wipe. No cover on the door peep hole, so I stuffed wet tissue in the hole. The room was dark. One lone light bulb in the corner of the room.... The night stand light was constantly flickering.... There was a small bug on one of my pillows.... I noticed there was no scent from cleaning products. The last Best Western I stayed at, I smelled bleach. Not a great scent, but a scent someone would know where cleaning took place. The sheets and towels did not smell clean; they smelled with leftover odors. A couple of good things- the water pressure which was nice, and Brenda's professionalism and welcoming spirit. I could not check-out fast enough to get away from the dirty tired room. I do not recommend this Best Western. PS On a side note, some of the staying guests were smoking outside the areas where we would walk to get to our rooms, meaning the area between each building (A to B). as in the area for work and chose to stay at the Best Western . The room left much to be desired as your key card is not required to enter into the hotel hallway . The bathroom was not as clean as I would have wanted or expected as there were still here in the shower area. The beds were extremely soft and saggy and may need to be replaced. The sheets and towels were clean. The breakfast was okay, however I do not eat eat pork and all of the breakfast options from the chorizo and eggs to the bacon was pork based. I would have enjoyed oatmeal but it was in packet form and there were no bowls available. The coffee was good but I do not think I would stay here long-term however the hotel works if you're there for a few nights read more

We booked a Queen Room with Two Queen Beds. When we moved our luggage in, we saw that there was a leftover Corona bottle on the chair by the desk. The room was spacious and beds were comfortable. The fridge and microwave worked well. There is also a complimentary breakfast that starts at 6 am, which is perfect, since we were already up at that time. We stayed here for 3 days, Nov 24-26-2025. Check in took a while with one family in front of us. So we helped our selves to some hot chocolate while we waited but it was cold. I took it to my room to warm it up. We had a ground floor room. It was quite, even though the parking lot was full with 70% work trucks. Lots of Pg&e and tree workers stay here. Unfortunately the pool was closed for the season. The star here is their buffet breakfast which is included with your room. It starts at 6am. The menu changes daily and they keep everything filled with fresh items. The ladies are so nice and work had to keep up with the morning rush with all the workers coming in to start their days. Its a big dining room so there's room for everyone. My favorite was their biscuits and gravy, it can definitely stand up to a great restaurants offering. So 5 stars for the breakfast buffet! We really appreciated a full hot breakfast early in the morning. We'd definitely stay here again. read more

Apparently, they don't stand by what is written on their website. We have a cat. It says that dogs are all okay, but cats must be with the "approval of the hotel". I called about it for my future reservation, and it was a flat no. I told them it was false advertising. What if I had gotten all the way there from southern California and they rejected my cat? Put her in the car? And by reading all the other reviews, it seems like corporate would do well to dump them. I really don't think BW Corporation would want to be associated with such a shoddy hotel. They have zero integrity. I came for business. But I will definitely NEVER stay at this shack. read more

I left this stay feeling extremely disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the experience was off. We showed up early and asked if the room happened to be ready. Instead of a simple answer, we were told that check-in wasn't until 3 PM. When I asked again if the room itself was actually ready, they said yes--but only then mentioned the $33 early check-in fee. We were fine paying it, but the way it was communicated made us feel like we were bothering them, and they didn't offer the option until we pushed for it. Later in the stay, things got worse. Our room was never cleaned, even though we were out for hours. When I called the front desk, the first thing they suggested was that we must have had the "Do Not Disturb" sign up, which we absolutely did not. Then I was told that housekeeping has to be specifically requested--something that was never mentioned at check-in, not posted anywhere in the room, and not listed in any hotel information. When I asked if this was actually their policy, the story suddenly changed again, which felt more like excuses than transparency. What made it even more frustrating is that their own website clearly states they offer daily housekeeping, completely contradicting what we were being told. They eventually said they could send housekeeping, but it was already late in the afternoon and only if we left the room. By that point, we were already settled in, so that wasn't a helpful solution. I asked to speak with a manager during this situation and was told there was no manager on duty, but that one would be in at 8 AM. When I went to check out in the morning and again asked to speak with a manager, I was informed there was no manager on shift and that they wouldn't be in until the afternoon. I requested a call from a manager, but I still haven't heard from anyone. Overall, the poor communication, inconsistent information, lack of accountability, and unprofessional handling of basic services made this stay far more stressful and disappointing than it should have been. I truly hope management takes a serious look at how situations like this are handled. read more

We stayed here for the weekend to ski at Kirkwood. It is about an hour to Kirkwood with no traffic or snow on the road. The staff at the inn were very nice and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Despite being your basic motel breakfast food, the coffee was good, and the scrambled eggs were made well, not overdone. We didn't have BF there on Sunday, but it also looked good, and different than Saturday. They added chorizo and eggs, potatoes and tortillas. We stayed in #112, which had a kitchen and was a free upgrade for us because some of the rooms were being updated and unavailable. It faces the street, but noise was not an issue. Our daughters were in #107 facing the parking lot and was good but the sliding door leading to the lot needed new rollers or some WD-40. The TVs had basic and Netflix. I had my netbook and a HDMI cable. The motel was a 5 minute walk to the old town district of Jackson that has many antique stores, restaurants and bars. We loved the Rose Bud for breakfast. read more

My company prefers us to stay with Best Western properties when we are traveling and unfortunately this one was recommended. Overall, first impressions are that it was dingy, outdated and dirty. The room I was put in for my second week was absolutely atrocious. The bed was broken, and when you sat on it just rolled right off there was blood on my sheets, Blood on the wall in the bathroom, the tiles in the bathroom looked like they had never been cleaned, the bathroom sink had some kind of sticky possible hair Gel over the countertop, the desk was also covered in something. Sticky and dirty and the carpet was just gross. When I requested a room change. I was basically told no that unless I was willing to change rooms at a specific time during the day Then, I would not be able to change rooms. Unfortunately, as I'm traveling for work, I have to be at a specific location during those times and that did not work for me. I checked out and I moved over to the holiday inexpress, which was a thousand times better and friendlier. I probably spend more time a year on best western properties and this is by far the worst one.I've ever been at. It was also very unpleasant to me to be acosted for my room number during 'breakfast', the breakfast room where they make the food.The door was left open, and I was really grossed out by the fact that they had a mop in a sink next to where they're preparing food.So I decided to get food.Someplace else. We stayed over the weekend to go to the casino, which was fun. The room was clean and comfy beds. We were also able to bring our dog which is why we're chose to stay here. The reason for the 5 stars and writing this review is the lovely lady Lisa that runs the weekend breakfast. The breakfast Is above average hotel food, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, plus the standard waffles, bagels, cereal and so on. What made it so enjoyable again was Lisa, she was friendly, helpful, and professional every interaction we had with her. You could tell she loved what she was doing, she kept the food full, tables clean, got everyone seated when it was busy. Thank you Lisa for an enjoyable morning Saturday and Sunday. read more

Wowser! I've been staying at this place for over two years. Had I read the reviews first, I would have never booked the place. Let me be clear- they are not perfect, but they are clean and well appointed. The breakfast is outstanding. I mean really good-and I have eaten a LOT of motel breakfasts! The first time I stayed there was an issue with people on site that should not have been there. My understanding is that the police handled the issue. My only other concern is their apparent disregard for ADA regulations. Apparently this is a real problem based on the reviews I just read. I have had issues convincing them that I cannot climb stairs-one of the reasons I have a disabled placard. My first stay was irritating because I had booked a fireplace room on the GROUND FLOOR (the only concession that is not negotiable), but when I arrived they said they didn't have one. Ok. Stuff happens. But they then proceeded to charge me a higher rate to change my room category (to a lesser room in my opinion as there was no fireplace). I would strongly suggest that their employees be trained better in this regard before someone actually sues them for ADA violations. That being said, I will stay with them again because, excepting their ADA issues, it meets my needs for clean and calm. read more

If you like or dislike this hotel I believe it will be based on what kind of hotel you normally stay at. If you generally hotel at motel6, super8, or others like that you will like this hotel. If you usually stay at Hampton inn, Embassy suites, or a Best Western plus. You may find this hotel disappointing. The staff was friendly, the furniture and appliances in the hotel seem to be newer. The carpet seems older. And possibly the reason why some reviews speak of an odd odor. I myself did not find it offensive but there was an old smell to the place. I do believe it's over 40 years old. All the furniture at the pool was new. The rooms are inside but the doors leading outside are always unlocked and open. I never saw any homeless in the area like other reviews have mentioned. There were a number of work crews staying there but they were all quiet and I experienced no problems from them or their vehicles. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. But with all that said I would not stay there again. That is because I prefer a nicer upgraded hotel. This hotel is old and looks it. The breakfast is nice with hot eggs and bacon. Bed bugs, and a quick internet search will show this has been a problem here since 2016. we did tell the hotel management and they did give us a new room, but when we lifted up the new rooms mattress we were greeted with more red stains. (Signs of a bed bug infestation). So we left. Unfortunately it appears that they are negligent when it comes to keeping these bugs at bay, there were no mattress covers on our mattress or any signs that they were trying to combat the bed bug problem they are having. They are renovating some rooms there, but won't matter much if they can't get rid of there infestation. I'd stay away from this location. Edit: the pool was also green (algae?) so most likely isn't getting the proper maintenance it should be. Swim with caution. Stay here if you must, but I would spend a few extra $ to get a nicer place. read more

It's a hard no for me. Decent enough hotel decent beds that's the only positive. When we checked in the front desk told us where to park our motorcycles to avoid them getting broken into. Oh gee what have we gotten ourselves into?. Doesn't seemed like they fully cleaned the room as there were crackers or the like not vacuumed on the floor. At the time we were here their room key system didn't work. This means that anytime you want to be let into your room we had to go to the front desk and wait for people checking in or whoever front desk is working with to acknowledge you and then send somebody to escort us to each room to let us in. Yes this was a pain for everybody. But more so for the guest the inconvenience you would have expected a little courtesy an accommodation. They couldn't have been any more rude! 3.75/5 Stayed there for almost 2 weeks. Knocked off the 1.25 stars for: first night there, 2 roaches in the room. Squashed them dead, didn't see any more. Did however, have a cricket hanging around in the room that joined me in bed on the 2nd night. The important parts of the room were clean the beds were clean the microwave was clean fridge toilet bathtub all clean, there was like stuff (dust, outside debris that was small) on the carpet in like the corners of the room which wasn't a big deal. There were however yellow stains in weird spots on the curtain that looked like they could have been pee if I'm being honest. There was also a rust color stain on the back of the chair where your back sits. The beds were comfortable. The sheets and everything were very nice, pillows were a bit too soft for me. AC, TV, microwave, blow dryer, and fridge all worked. The fridge felt like it didn't at first, I put stuff in there because we were going to be there 2 weeks and it didn't feel cold but I turned it up all the way and put the stuff in there and everything froze. The breakfast was honestly the selling point. It is by far the best breakfast from any hotel in the area that offers a hot breakfast. Everyday there's waffles (cinnamon roll or regular), different cereals, yogurt, milk (chocolate and regular), coffee, drinks and then every day there's a different menu for the other hot food. Different omelets, sausage, bacon, fried potatoes, French toast, scrambled eggs - but it's all so good. And they do it all from a little room about the size of my walk-in closet with just college dorm room hot plates. We did not try out the pool but it looked clean and it was busy pretty much every weekend. All the staff were super friendly. We had no issues with any other guests and as far as I know there were no issues with other guests and police, it was relatively quiet those two weeks - except when people were utilizing the pool area but that was during daytime business hours so it was fine. We never really heard anything from our neighbors via the shared walls, but you could hear people in the hall which wasn't a big deal and even though we were bottom floor right next to the parking lot we had no issues with car noise late at night or early morning. Honestly if it weren't for the bugs 5 stars and I don't even know if I can fault them for the bugs because we were on the bottom floor in C building so we're kind of right by trees and foliage and it was a hot day, but we absolutely hate bugs so, sorry. read more

Pleasant stay We stayed for one night and didn't really spend that much time at the hotel since we were out and about attending some local events. Check-in was smooth and easy. Booked through my work discount at $93/night (Friday night). Our room was the first unit at the entrance of the building so it was nice that we didn't have to walk deep in the long hallway. We were still able to find parking spots even rolling in late. The room was spacious and clean with a refrigerator and a microwave oven. It looks like the room was just newly renovated with new carpet. The bed was nice and comfy, it was a quiet evening and we had a restful stay. Free WiFi with password. Apparently we did not know about the complimentary upgraded breakfast offered but there is a 24-hr Denny's next door and Best Western guests get 15% off their total bill. Just show card key to cashier when paying. Easy to find off of Highway 49. The hotel is located not too far from places we had to be that weekend. 4.6 miles to Jackson Rancheria and 4.4 miles to Sutter Creek! Great location! Was a little scared by the reviews but decided to book anyway as 1) there aren't exactly a wide variety of central Jackson hotels to choose from and 2) read that they just renovated/changed the beds and figured that they should be bug free for at least a while. Well- maybe it was the low expectation, but I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and welcoming this place actually was! I mean, this review is definitely based on a hotel being in its own class, but for a small-town Best Western, I think this is probably the best choice. Location- besides the one historic hotel that's in downtown, this place is the second best location to that Main Street. It's just a few minute walk. Close drive to everything around as well. Decor/room- definitely so-so but not expecting any high end exterior or interior touches here. Breakfast- wow, what it's lacking in decor it makes up in food! Can't vouch for the quality but the kids loved it and there was the biggest selection I have ever seen in a hotel. The morning attendants are super nice and attentive. Coffee is a 6/10 but it's free and not much better across the street from Denny's so might as well drink up. Parking- super easy, right next to the room. If you're hungry, there is a decent Denny's on the property. They also have hot cocoa/tea/coffee in the lobby all day. read more

Worst Customer Service! Bunch of thieves, accidentally booked for the wrong night, not only would they not switch my reservation, they would not refund my money! Tried calling the hotel three times with No answer. The third party that I went through tried calling and no answer. I was at work and had to go back from break, so I had someone go into the Hotel and talk to a person. That person said the phones were down, but if I called later they would be happy to work with us. What a lie!! Charged 95.00 for a room I could not stay in. However, the crooks did offer to charge me 89.00 at a "discounted" rate to book for the correct night!! They will actually rob you - can't believe it but the reviews are correct. If you have a reservation, they will ask you for a card when you check in and charge you for the entire room again! You presume it's for a security hold, but I happened to notice the full charge on my card. Called to clear it up and they put me on hold for 20 min then phone was busy - at first I thought they were busy, but now I think on purpose. I called at 2 points in the day, every time I called about being charged twice, they put me on hold until I hung up and did not pick up for about an hour or two after! read more

We booked online & called well before to guarantee a wheelchair access room. Upon arrival we were told none were available then he told my husband try this one & after looking at it the entire bathroom/sink was torn apart. We had to stay the night in a regular room which was a huge fall Hazard for me. 6am the next morning my husband waited 1 hour for the manager to arrive & suddenly they had a WC access room available directly across from the office! It was obvious no one had stayed there the night before so we couldn't understand the holdup. Without many choices in Jackson this is a convenient and cheap option. The rooms are being updated with new furniture but I don't think they were painted or recarpeted, which is too bad. The place smells overwhelmingly like an old casino (carpet deodorizer and smoke) and sometimes a little bit like dirty gym socks. There was only a flimsy blanket on the bed so I had to crank up the heat. There is ample free parking and free breakfast. The two choices of sausage was impressive. read more
