On here and through GPS this place is called the Jackson Lodge but it's actually a Quality Inn & Suite. I will say that I was very disappointed in this place from start to finish beginning with the check-in of my friend. We traveled into town for a special occasion and he happened to be checking in a day before me. I went with him so I could scope out the area and get familiar before I check in the following day, and I was honestly so disappointed. I made a comment to the front desk that I would be checking in the following day later in the night and asked if I could have a room that's relatively close to his for safety reasons, but the person checking him in said that all rooms were near each other since there's only 2 floors... For a place that has a sign that says if we need anything to feel more comfortable to let the front desk know the attitude and response of the front desk really threw me off. The room he was given was located on the first floor; once you opened the door the entire room smelled like mildew and cigarette smoke. We literally had to open the windows both in the room, and the bathroom, along with the front door and blasted the AC on to get some of the smell out. Well, this place does provide shampoo, conditioner, lotion, a bar of soap, and a toothbrush, please note that they do not provide body wash. The room does come with a mini fridge, but please be aware that if you sit at the little office desk that they have in the room, it might go down. I sat on it and was waiting for him and then it abruptly drop me down multiple times. I didn't get hurt, but I just think it's something people should be aware of just in case. There was some staining on the singular chair that was in the room, along with the bedsheets. The room I was given was on the second floor, which was a little bit better in terms of scent, but not much better as a whole. Keep in mind that there's no elevator here, but there is a staircase so if you have heavy luggage, plan accordingly. There was some staining on the wall, a black mark on the shower curtain, the bathtub was dirty, and the sink made weird noises when I was running the water to brush my teeth. I should also note that two of the towels that were in my room ready for use had small stains on them. There is a chair outside of each room on the first floor and every single door on first and second floor has an ashtray outside so just be aware that this place heavily smells like cigarette smoke. If you just need a place to get in and out this place will get it done for you... But if you're used to and prefer a little bit more comfort, try somewhere else. Breakfast is very limited and runs out very quickly. read more

Unfortunately this was one of the worst hotel stays I've had. The room smelled strongly of mold/mildew as soon as I walked in. The carpet had large stains, and there was even a worn/used sock left on the floor when I arrived (see photos). Even the bathroom toilet paper roll was almost used up when I checked in. On top of that, the furniture looked extremely worn out. The bed and sofa both looked old and noticeably sagging, which made the room feel run-down rather than comfortable. 1 STAR -- I WOULD GIVE ZERO IF I COULD DO NOT stay at this hotel unless you enjoy being scammed and sleeping with bugs. First thing I noticed? Yes, they "remodeled," but it looks like someone grabbed a can of spray paint and called it a day. There was no trim around the doors, and you could literally see outside through the cracks. At 8 PM, I realized I could barely lock the door, which is exactly what you don't want when you're trying to sleep somewhere unfamiliar. And then -- as if the place wasn't sketchy enough -- the manager showed up at 8 PM, banging on my door, insisting that I "hadn't paid," even though we prepaid online. He was extremely pushy and absolutely trying to scam me into paying again. It felt shady, unsafe, and completely unprofessional. Inside the room? Just as bad. The place looked slapped together, dirty under closer inspection, and I could hardly sleep because there were bugs. Yes--BUGS. This hotel is a complete disaster. Between the unsafe rooms, the sketchy management, and the overall filthy conditions, I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Save your money. Stay literally anywhere else. read more

Depending on your room, it would be rad or bad. Our group had 3 rooms: one had a broken hair drier, one had a broken shower knob, and the last was perfect. The nonsmoking rooms smell fine, but right outside your door is a bench with an ashtray where your neighbors are smoking. The are felt fun, well lit, and safe. The breakfast ran out of coffee early on, but had enough other goodies. The driveway is tucked away off the road. read more

If I could give 0 stars I definitely would. We only stayed here because our car broke down and no Uber or Lyft would come up. AAA wouldn't get here until the following day. (3 day weekend everything was booked. So upon arrival the manager saw us walk up with our kids and said "oh it's like little Mexico here" (we are Hispanic) That was racist not funny if that was his intention. At 1am a loud woman woke us up by screaming that she had no more alcohol . Not 2 min the creepy manager called our room to accuse us of being loud. Not only was this room disgusting dirty but to wake up my kids with a phone call at 1 something was the cherry on top. Do not stay here. Do NOT stay here. No customer service. We have stayed here twice over the last year. The cottages are large, private and clean. Full kitchen, family room and bedroom. The owners are kind and helpful. He even gave us a bottle of wine for Valentine's Day! The location is perfect for exploring the gold country. We will be staying here again. read more

We had a great time at the Jackson Lodge. Our room was a cozy, clean and comfortable. The new owners were very friendly and in the midst of renovating the property, they still were able to meet our needs. We stayed in the deluxe bungalow, and we were able to prepare a full thanksgiving dinner. The fireplace in our room was warm and comfortable. The very worst room we've ever reserved. Floors were dirty, no plug for the bath tub, only one channel on TV(no news station). Heater made strange noises all night. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Beds are comfortable. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. This is our second visit to the Jackson Lodge. We were helping with an event at the Kennedy Mine and couldn't get our usual location. Lucky for us there were rooms available so we made a reservation. My husband has mobility issues and the room was perfect for both our needs. Roll in shower, elevated toilet seat and excellent access to our room. If you are looking for luxury this isn't your spot. I can't even give them a star. The guy that runs the place is super rude. My girlfriend and I stay there last night. We checked putting our stuff in the room then went to eat dinner. When returned we both got in our pj's. I went to use the restroom and then my girlfriend uses it after and notices we both stepped barefooted on dry blood. I called the front desk, dude started giving me attitude, wouldn't come check our room. I took pictures he wouldn't look at any of my people calling me names, told he was calling the cops. I told him to go ahead so I could document this. He threw my money back at me as he continued to call me name. Going to make a doctor's appointment Monday hope I don't get any blood bourne diseases. Forgot to add my girlfriend as asthma and stepping in that blood gave her a panic attack. She had trouble breathing all night almost have to take her to the er. Place was dirty. Stayed for 15 minutes and noticed the lack of cleanliness. We asked the guy on duty for a refund that we didn't want to stay there due to it not being clean. He accused me and my wife of having sex in the bed then wanting to leave! Ridiculous! Do better! Clean Better! For over $120 per night I expect clean at the very least. read more

Given the circumstances we were in transitioning between a bad hotel and moving into our new place, they even made an exception and let us have our cats with us for two nights!!! Room looks clean. Has a small fridge and microwave. If you're looking for a place to sleep it's not bad just hopefully you didn't encounter noisy neighbors. Walls are thin & the people next door was really annoying! They were up all night with the music and TV on I could complain but I didn't. I played my own music and eventually fell asleep. If you are okay with patched walls and paint, stained chairs, broken closet doors, rooms that are cold dingy and have a slight smell of body order, add heaters that are semi functional then go for it! My room heater wouldn't fully heat the room. The air went from warm to cool alternating and so I communicated this to the owner (?). His solution was to "go stay at The National Hotel" but no refund! So this isn't somewhere i hope to ever stay again. And def not worth the price. (Air bnb would have to be booked before going here) On the outside you can tell this place is rundown and dwf in need of some tlc. While my cabin unit was "ok" and clean my buddies qas horrendous! They had to have it re-cleaned as the bed had human hairs like someone had been shedding all over it. The units inside feel cozy but also make you feel as if you might not make it thru the night. Beds are suuuuper springy like you can almost feel the wires getting ready to pop out. Blankets are from the 60s thin and used af! Ii think some of the reviews are super harsh! I've stayed here twice: Once in double queen room, and this weekend in a cabin. The owner was very gracious and accommodating and the rooms were VERY clean. No, it's not at all fancy, but the beds/bedding were comfortable and it was quiet. I'm not interested in spending a bunch for resort-like accommodations. I'm much more interested in feeling safe, sleeping well, and then getting out to enjoy the area. Honestly, I love the Lodge. I've been going to Jackson since I was 5 years old, and here we are 15 years later and I'm still staying here. The owner and his son were so kind and let us check in and get our room early, even though we told them we were totally okay to just relax by the pool, and wait until the actual check in time. We also got the room extremely last minute, a few hours before we arrived and it was the last room available in Jackson for the weekend. I was looking around for the perfect mini-vacation get away spot for my family. We stumbled upon this gem. We loved it, the pool, breakfast and management were the best. The rooms are good, location awesome, and it was peaceful with other friendly families. My daughter and granddaughter fully enjoyed the stay. Breakfast was tasty and ordering pizza from the local real Italian pizza place topped it off. Perfecto, totally going back on little getaways. This is what customer service looks like. read more

We recently stayed at the Jackson Lodge. We have been staying at this lodge for many years and it is always a very good experience. We stayed at one of the cabins and find it to be very cozy and spacious. The fireplace is such a nice touch and having a kitchen, living room and separate bedroom was great. The management is very accommodating and check to make sure if you need anything to make your stay more comfortable. The location is great and easy access to restaurants and wineries. It is not over priced like so many other lodges. We will continue to use this lodge over any others! read more

My friend and I had a crazy experience here. Our first room was incorrect from what we reserved. We were given a cabin which we liked but it was $20 CASH ONLY each night. He burst into our room..I in my PJ's and announced I hadn't paid for the next night. Why didn't he charge me both nights at once?? I trudged into the office and paid up. He insisted I needed new room keys so I realized he would have locked us out of our room had we gone out to dinner. Simple fixes are not taken care of: light bulbs, stove burners, consistent lines.... I own two corporations with 250 employees and 10,000 swimmers ate four swim schools. Staying here was the worst experience staying at motels I've ever had. The place is filthy and smelly. Long black hairs on the bathroom floor and walls. I stayed in one of the cabins. Its an entire apartment but with cleaners coming to clean up after you. I had to stay for an extended period of time and it could not be easier and stressless. I saw many families coming on a regular basis with kids just to spend the day at the pool. With the really HOT afternoons, I chose to stay indoors in air conditioned comfort. This place makes the Bates Motel look inviting. We booked one night here over Labor Day weekend. We got one of the cabins. It would be kind to call it shabby chic, but it was relatively fine, even though the fridge was unplugged and the doors were open as if they were airing it out. IDK. The problem was that at 6:30 am Sunday the phone started ringing and the ringer was LOUD. Needless to say it woke us up. When I dialed zero after several rings the proprietor answered so I asked him what he wanted. What he said after that needed a Hindi interpreter. Since we were up, we decided to leave. The proprietor gave us a look as we drove out. Very strange and rude experience. We would have been better off at a rest stop. read more

Decided to finally check out Daffodil Hill, and get out of Sacramento for the night. We weren't feeling the BNB vibe, (kids in tote) so decided to explore Jackson. Surely not the WORST place I have ever stayed in, however, I need to clear a few things up, things I have read in other shoddy reviews or hotel descriptions. First, If you're staying in a "cabin"- keep in mind, they are not really cabins, more like duplexes. I have a family of four, and the king worked out just fine- PLENTY of space. Enjoyed the little back porch overlooking trees and hills, and even used the reasonably sized kitchen. The sofabed sucks, you can feel every spring, but hey...its a sofabed. Secondly, the Pool is beautiful, but certainly NOT heated. As for the "cabin" the shower pressure is terrible, and made for short people. The WIFI (In the cabins) was non existent. The room was sparkling clean, with the exception of the floor that they probably really need to have shampooed. I slept alright, but my husband did not. I'll blame our gel foam mattress we love at home. Why would I stay here again? Because I hate chains, the owners were extremely helpful and polite, the lounge was charming, and breakfast was pretty okay- an assortment of bagels, fruit, juices coffee cereal..you know, the basics to get you going. Im not saying I would stay here all the time, but I'm not sorry I tried it. read more

Apparently I did not have the same negative experience as the one other review of this place. I loved it. A rustic room with a kitchen and a fireplace and for under $100 bucks a nite...I think it was around $80 last time we stayed. It was quiet, restful and a great home base to work from and see the attractions in the Sutter Creek and Jackson area; then make our next "plan of attack" for places to go. Lots of nice restaurants and antique shops to check out-we've been here twice to celebrate anniversaries. If you're looking for room service and a mint on your pillow with the bed turned down, pick a pricier place, otherwise I guarantee you will be happy! read more

Let me start by saying the check in person (Man), was very nice. Next the property: it's old. Not to say old is bad, it gives it that certain feel, but it's in desperate need of upgrades. We stayed in room 103, which is right in front of the pool. It could be a beautiful room. It's just so outdated. OLD, OLD, OLD bedding, old carpet, old furniture, and the bathroom was peeling. The pool: it was NOT heated. Unless your version of heated is hypothermia. So we nixed the pool. At 11pm at night, there was NO hot water. None. So we decided to sleep it off hoping for hot water in the morning. Nope, what we got was a cool morning wake up. When my friend approached the front desk they were told "it's coming". No hot water came. When I checked out I asked the front desk if he could adjust my bill, no hot water last night or today. He said "There are a lot of people here, the hot water is coming". I said "well its kind of late for me, I'm already checking out". He said "I will give you a discount on your next stay." No thanks, I will NOT be going back. So many other options up there, The Jackson Lodge will never be one of them. Stay somewhere else. Kick up the extra $20, it's not worth it to stay here. read more

We did not have a pleasant stay there on Halloween The walls are paper thin up above us there was a party very loud going on all night and morning. No sleep for us. Had a non-smoking room but the pillows the blankets and the bed wreaked from old smoke. They did have a refrigerator and microwave in the room which was okay. The owners were very hard to communicate with. Had trouble with the old-style TV. On our next stay in Jackson California we will probably find a different place to stay overnight. read more

I've stayed here a couple times and some rooms are different than others but this time that I stayed in room 208 is a very comfortable room and it has carpet which I do not like the rooms without carpet. They have coffee in the room and this room is clean. The only complaint that I do have is staff isn't so friendly or welcoming which really sucks! A smile and friendly attitude is usually expected when you're the owner. Try smiling some and being nicer! read more

Terrible. The desk clerk was rude, wore offensive cologne that could smelled from the parking lot, and tried to overcharge the room that I had already reserved. My wife and I walked into the room, and she started crying. The table had chunks taken out of the top, and was simply painted over. The carpet was coming up, and the paint was peeling. I can handle most of that, but when I opened the door to the adjoining room, I could see where someone had kicked in the other door. The lock had been replaced, but the crack was still there. Between that and the noise of the utility room right outside my window, I decided that the ten minutes I was there was more than enough. I went back to the front desk handed him my keys, and said I was checking out. He demanded to know why. I told him all that I just said, and he declared "well what do you expect for $50?!" So we had a conversation, and without asking, he gave me a full refund. Great. Wonderful. Time to go. Low and behold, two days later after giving me the full refund, I was charged for the first night again. I will never, ever, stay here again. Reminded me of the Bates Motel. read more
