This is a very old and minimally maintained hotel from the last century - - very old school. There are no elevators for the second floor rooms. The stairs are in need of Cleaning, And Repair, as well as handrail on both sides. The rooms are not completely clean and smelled like an old hotel. The windows were very difficult to open. I didn't read any reviews before booking this place, which I normally do. So I was surprised at how old the building is, and some areas need cleaning and updating. I was mostly surprised that there wasn't a microwave in our room. We brought food that needed to be warmed up but had to go to the lobby to use the shared microwave. You have to call or text for one to be brought to you. There was only one guy filling requests. Hope they can hire and retain more help. Eventually, someone delivered a microwave, but our food was already warm. Anyway, the beds were comfortable, the lobby was beautiful and updated, and the workers were friendly and down-to-earth. The location was perfect, close to the job, and across the street from Safeway and restaurants. I walked the grounds in the morning, and it was nice and peaceful. Cobwebs were on the gates and also on our balcony railing. The guys had a good time shooting hoops too. Nice basketball court, pool, and plenty of spots to relax outside. read more

The location of this hotel is great, easy access to main road. A little bit disappointed with the room though. I put in a request to have a room on the higher floor when I booked the hotel which was months ahead of my stay, I was put on the first floor. Being on the first floor, it kind of forced us to keep the blinds closed which then caused the room to be a bit dark. A suggestion would be to upgrade to lights in the room to bright LED light bulbs then the right would be much brighter with the blinds closed. Another disappointment was that they offer no water bottles in the room or vending machine to purchase them. I thought that's a must for a hotel. Maybe trying to cut cost, but then I thought their room rate wasn't cheap too. That said, the room has the bare minimum and clean. The breakfast is the best thing in the hotel. It comes with the room. It has hot food, fruits, cereal bar, yogurt bar, pancake making machine, coffee, tea, just a lot for a complimentary breakfast. The hotel was marked as a 3 stars hotel. My room was spacious and included a large desk and ergonomic chair, a bureau, and a large TV with lots of channels including HBO. There was a couch and chair. I had room to roll out my yoga mat on the floor. There was a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Nice bathroom and amenities. The price for my executive room was less than what I would pay for a regular room in most good hotels. What I liked most was the service. This is hands down one of the best Best Westerns in California. The staff are always friendly and accommodating, the property is well maintained, and the rooms are clean. In addition, the breakfast here has more to offer than most Best Westerns and is located in a separate building that use to be a restaurant, so the atmosphere is more like a diner than a hotel breakfast. The property has a large heated pool, hot tub, gym, and a small yet fun miniature golf course that my kids and I enjoyed each time we stayed here. I have stayed here at least ten times in the last twelve months and each time the rooms were consistently clean, staff friendly, and with a great breakfast. It is also located in a very safe area so if you are traveling alone just know that the area and grounds are very safe. I highly recommend this location to anyone staying in the area. read more

This is a motel not a hotel. It's clean, staff is friendly, but everything is dated. Located near a busy highway, but surprisingly it's quiet at night :) No bed bugs. Cozy bed and comfortable pillows -- quite good actually! Great channel selection on TV. Executive room is just the right sized w/ desk chair, sofa, and side chair. AC is low but it works!! Breakfast buffet is nice -- eggs, bacon, waffles, fresh fruit, real Tropicana OJ etc. The next day it was sausage, pancakes, croissants, bagels. it's served in basically a restaurant/hall which is also great. Gym is small and everything is a bit rickety but can definitely get a full body workout in here! Nice pool and grounds! Courtyard rooms are worth the extra fee, lovely atmosphere w/ the patios on those rooms. Corte Madera is a nice town. Love the vibe and people are friendly. Wow! This Best Western exceeded all our expectations. We stayed here under a wedding block, and I was impressed by the amenities. The pool is huge and there are two hot tubs. There are rocking lounge chairs near your room so you can look out on to the expansive courtyard with picnic tables and a basketball court. They even took over the restaurant next to the them for the complimentary breakfast so there is plenty of space for large parties. The rooms were typical for a Best Western but everything else was not. I took one star off because the staff were pretty grumpy when we asked if we could do an early check-in. read more

Huge shout-out to Best Western Corte Madera Inn! My wedding guests stayed here the night before our wedding and some remained after. We were married in Muir Woods in the pouring rain (SO FUN!). The Best Western staff had us pretty close to each other. The King Suites were perfect for both the Bride and Groom to get ready in separately. The rooms were beautiful too! The staff was loving and attentive. We will never forget the service and the kindness of the hotel staff here. PROS Friendly, accommodating staff. Best Western is one of the few corporate hotels who is making a real effort to communicate consistently with their customers. They are, from my experience, responsive and responsible. Everyone working at this hotel is to be commended for a job well done. They keep the place up, as best they can, and are truly hospitable. The pool is terrific, though understandably busy on summer weekends. The breakfast is good and the people working in the breakfast room are saints. The common areas and rooms (we had two) are kept clean and tidy. CONS If you are disabled, in spite of offering #ADA rooms, this is not the hotel for you. The two #ADA rooms we booked were at the very back of the hotel (Room 134 and 135) as far from the pool and breakfast room as possible. Parking for the rooms is also some distance from the actual rooms themselves and requires you to traverse along narrow corridors, past many rooms opening directly onto your path. In front of the so-called #ADA room, there are three very steep steps (photos attached) which could be dangerous for disabled persons. Additionally, the floors in the two rooms mentioned here are uneven, with a jolting hump between the area with the shower and toilet and the sink. This was a trip hazard. The whole room was clearly not designed for disabled people at all. Throwing in a wheelchair shower, does not make a hotel room fit for disabled people. I wish more hotels understood this. read more

We stayed at the Corte Madera Best Western in recent trip to see a SF Giants baseball game. We like to take the Larkspur ferry over to Oracle park which only a 5 minute drive. Although the hotel may be somewhat dated, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and responded quickly when my wife requested an additional blanket. There are many amenities on site as well as a ginormous pool! A nice breakfast is included with your stay. read more

I stayed at the Best Western Corte Madera for a conference, so as not to be fighting traffic in the mornings or evenings. Usually I really like utilizing the Best Western hotels, this one left a little bit to be desired. I must say the staff in the office is very welcoming & helpful. The rooms are in need of a deep cleaning & upkeep. I.E., the curtains in the room, one looked as if it was either stained or had several bugs smashed upon it & the cleaning staff failed to clean off the marks. The sink in the bathroom was also stained. The toilet in the bathroom kept leaking, running water, the staff was able to fix once brought to their attention. My socks got dirty from walking on the carpet without my shoes. And lastly the bed, way too soft for me. ‍ The breakfast was good, again the staff was gracious. We stayed here for two nights during a Labor Day staycation. Why stay in Corte Madera? Because its centrally located to both Tiburon and Sausalito, two places we wanted to visit for the fine dining and outdoor activities. Although I am mostly a Marriott/Bonvoy fan, the Best Western Hotel Brand is gradually growing on me. The BW Corte Madera takes the term, resort to a new level. Definitely a 5-star stay. * Rooms were large, clean, and equipped with comfy beds. The layout was a bit funky with toilet in one room and bath/shower located behind the TV in the bedroom, LOL! * Free and fast wifi. I had no problem binge watching Stranger Things from my Kindle Fire. * Lots of amenities - basketball, junior Olympic pool, jacuzzi, ping pong, and mini golf. The fitness center was really tiny. No free weights but a good universal cable machine. You can do challenging flyes, laterals, lat pulls, and curls with this. * Huge breakfast buffet from 6:30am to 9:30am. They converted an actual restaurant to a breakfast-only place. Tip: The hotel is right next to an entrance to US-101S. To reach US-101N, take the US-101S and take the first exit - it will lead to US-101N. read more

I was there for four days for business my company booked me at this place since Holiday in was booked out. It was a nightmare bedbugs all over the bed I'm afraid to spiders and at 4 in the morning a huge spiders was coming down the ceiling not just that but the smell there is very filthy everything is very old and a lot of noises I checked out at 5am after leaving I'm still dealing, with all these bites in my body and having nightmares about the spider. As I made my way across to the left coast, it was a cold, dark, raining and windy evening after driving 8 hrs of driving cross country. My apartment complex was and not sure how I landed on this Inn, probably blind luck. As they say its better to be lucky than good. I discovered many of the Inn's are quaint and cute, but not overly extravagant, which I was fine with. On this evening check in was easy, they were nice enough to accommodate first floor room since I had to bring in several luggage items along with dog and supplies. What set this place apart from the best hotels was the bed. Probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in for as long as I can remember. After a long day this mattress was heaven. I understand they are so popular, guests have made special requests to purchase from them, which I can completely agree with and understand. Definitely would stay here again if I had to. read more

Wood floors, brand new bathrooms, cute headboards, beautiful banquette and kitchenette, keurig coffee maker, open reconfigured closet, new window coverings and fresh paint. First review on Yelp! I stayed at this hotel for 5 days and this is BY FAR the top Best Western I have stayed at. The employees all had big smiles and helpful attitudes (front desk, housekeepers, & staff during the complimentary breakfast). Great layout of the area and in all honesty it actually makes you feel like you are in some kind of mini resort. Some things that really stood out for me: -Really good complimentary breakfast (Belgium waffles, sausage, bacon, delicious eggs, pasties, oatmeal, yogurt, fruits, soy milk & healthy options) -HUGE pool that goes deep (great for laps!), large jacuzzi -Activities: Shuffleboard, putt-putt golf area, Basketball court, ping pong table, several resting/lounge area outside, picnic table area, BBQ grill, & more -Clean rooms, great layout, feeling of privacy and enclosure in the resort area -Kind and helpful staff -Gym with elliptical, treadmill, cycle bike -Multiple USB charging ports in the room -Keurig Coffee maker w/ several options and glass mugs & sink/counter area for drinks -2 dark chocolates on the bed table waiting for me when I got there :) Overall a great experience. This is a perfect place to stay if you are seeking close locations to numerous sights including the adorable town of Larkspur, Muir Woods, walking across the Golden Gate Bridge, getting the best sourdough bread ever at Bordenave's in San Rafael, or picking up food items adjacent to this hotel as well as being down the road from Marin Joe's a local meat lovers classic Googie style restaurant! This particular Best Western has a great location with easy access to the 101 when traveling south, it's literally off and on to the highway. As well there's fuel across the road and several food options within walking distance of the property. The front desk staff in my dealings have all been kind, professional and efficient - checking in and out was smooth and easy. This BW is an older property that's been remodeled in the past and could use a little update now. The room upon entering was way over perfumed when first walking in I had to air the room out for half an hour or more and it was still noticeable and it would be overwhelming to anyone sensitive to fragrances. A well laid out spacious courtyard room with walk in shower that's small but efficient , two queen beds (both of which were in need of a new mattress) along with a work station and chair, flat screen and a wet bar area. A nice touch is real ceramic coffee mugs and glass drinking glasses, no plastics to waste. The interior courtyard area was a nice bonus, this comfortable shaded space after a hot days ride, is your own little oasis right outside the back door - all under huge shade trees, lush well maintained lawns with walk ways, a nice sized grill area and deck, a huge swimming pool and even a putting green. Parking as well is literally right at your door, another nice benefit of this hotel. This a a decent nights stay and for the money a good value for the north bay. I really like this place, and it's hard to nail down why, but it feels homey and familiar. It's super quiet and it feels safe (I often stay there solo). It's smack in the center of Marin, you can walk to decent restaurants, and get on 101 in either direction in no time. HOWEVER, this last stay, I was unpleasantly surprised by the pure volume of intense scents when I opened the door. Even the facial tissue was strongly scented! The soaps! And the worst was the coconut shampoo and conditioner (which are in wall dispensers in the shower). I don't like going around smelling like a coconut, strange as it may seem. I like a very hot shower, and I tried and tried to rinse the smell out, but the stuff stayed in my hair like grease. The first thing I did when I got home was take a hot shower and wash my hair, really wash it, and condition it, and the smell was still there! It got into my towels and onto my pillowcases. I changed out those linens and started fresh, but it must still be in my hair because it's been several days and it got into the new linens and I CAN STILL SMELL IT everywhere. They need to get rid of all these scents, especially the shower products. Lots of people get headaches from chemical odors. Light, natural smells, like lime or lemon or mint, but not this greasy coconut stuff. Please! read more

This place was clean and seemed well maintained. I stayed two nights. Late check in was not a problem because they have a receptionist 24 hours. The decor was nice looking and they have a big pool and hottub. I like that there is a separate sink for preparing food and drinks. Microwave has to be requested ahead of time but they had it ready for us. The only negative was that the housekeeping kept repeatedly knocking on the door when we had been driving all night and trying to get some sleep. Even though I had the do not disturb sign up they ignored it and kept taking it down and putting it on the ground. I was staying two nights and didn't want my room cleaned so maybe they could've just let me sleep and rest. read more

Nice 3 star hotel. This Best Western has helpful staff, an indoor pool, free breakfast/wifi/parking and patios with chairs. The bed was comfortable and the room was pleasant. Full length mirrors on the closet doors was great. Easy access to 101 as well. Built like a motel, there are several buildings spread out in a U shape. There isn't enough parking for all of the rooms. On the two nights we stayed here, we had to park several buildings away from our room. The bathroom didn't have a real curtain and had a shower only without any kind of barrier between the shower and the toilet so the water ran all over the bathroom floor. Since this is a Best Western, no water or snacks in the room. They do have coffee. Also, no self-checkout. read more

I gave this hotel 3 stars, but was close to giving it 2 stars. The extra star was due to the potential of having breakfast at the next door restaurant which is included in the price for a room. The room itself was quite dated and in pretty rough shape. There were cobwebs in the bathroom ceiling which housed a couple harmless cellar spiders, and this was also the case in the bedroom. We got into the room late after a concert ended in San Francisco, and when we got ready to go to sleep, I noticed there was a bright light on out on the balcony. I couldn't find a switch that controlled it, so I called the front desk. I was told the light stays on, and there was no way to turn it off. I responded with, "Ugh." The front desk said jokingly, "You could break it," and it sounded like I wasn't the first person to make that complaint. The drapes did a decent job of blocking it out, but not completely. Parking was not great either. It seemed like there was a shortage of parking spots, but we did get into the parking lot quite late. I think for the increase in price to stay in the city, it would have been worth it. I didn't see any of the concerning bugs and I took a pretty close look. The room wasn't dirty, but it sure smelled old. I really expected more from a hotel room in Corte Madera, even if it was a Best Western. read more

I booked a room at this hotel since it was close to my buddies wedding venue. I stayed for 2 nights and was really pleased with this location. I checked in early and the front desk rep found an available room with no hassle or additional charges. She was very accommodating and provided all the necessary info for the activities here and the free breakfast. The rooms are very clean and beds were comfortable. I don't have any complaints. Breakfast was good (Sausage, Waffles, Egg, Potatoes, Cereal, Yogurt, Fruit, Toast, Bagels, Juice, Coffee, and so on). The best part of my stay was getting to use the huge swimming pool, jacuzzi spa, mini golf, and basketball. Highly recommend! read more
