On a Friday in Mid May, we stayed here for 2 nights. It's located outside of San Francisco in Corte Madera close to Trader Joe's and bev mo. The parking is one way in and out. The lobby is on the side. They gave us 2 free bottles of water. Our room is on the 3rd floor corner. The elevator is old school only 2 -3 people fit inside. The room has a kitchen, living room with 2 bedrooms. It appeared to be clean and no problems. Not too far from Muir Woods.

Great location, nicely appointed rooms, and the staff was very helpful and gracious. This hotel used to be an apartment building; after checking in this became apparent because everything we needed was included in the room. A full size fridge, stove, plates, pans and cutlery. The bed was comfortable and the hot water and shower were perfect after a long day Road travel. The pool area looked inviting and upon and learning that the water was warm definitely made me want to take a dip. But I was only there for one night and didn't bring a swimsuit. The Sanctuary was the star off the hotel both the inside seating area and past it onto the garden lounging area. I look forward to our future stays at this Corte Madera respite!

Awful MOTEL! Dirty, run down, rude employees, highway noise, room noises, other guests stomping on the floor above you. Just don't.

We needed a relaxing day after moving , a total move that took 5 days ! Our bodies were tired and so sore . We found that they participated in resort pass . We bought a day room and were able to have the room from 10-5pm as well as enjoy all the amenities that they have to offer . We started in the sauna to relax our body , then we headed to the hot tub and finished up with another sauna session. Their salt water pool is my favorite not harsh on your hair or skin but it was pretty cold today so although it is heated , I could not go in . When. We finished having our self care we still had about 3 hours until check out so we went to get pedicure at madera nails before heading into SF for date night . We will definitely be doing this again and bringing our teens along to enjoy .

I'm spending four nights and my initial impressions are quite positive in a retro kind of way. Depending on where your room is located, you might find there to be a fair amount of road noise. However, I thought it was quite noisy until I closed the windows which were opened a little bit, and that made things much quieter. The small kitchenette is adequate with a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. There's a small dining table with two chairs, a nice desk and another sitting chair in my room. The bed is comfy and the bathroom is nice. It is an older property, but it seems to be very nicely maintained. The closet in my room is huge and I was pleasantly surprised to find a safe for my valuables and robes. A nice pool area as well as a beautiful courtyard is available and in between the two areas is a covered, very comfortable seating area with vending machines. Overall a wonderful hotel stay. The only negatives for me are no blackout curtains on the windows and it takes a long time to get hot water. Otherwise a pretty cool Hotel with reasonable rates. Easy walking distance to a shopping center, restaurants and Safeway grocery store.

Stayed here recently while on business in the area. This hotel is comfortable and nicely appointed. Check in was easy, even on a busy afternoon woth mulitple events going on this place was booked solid. The front desk staff was professional and kind, made checking in easy and effortless. My double queen suite room upper floor in the back was spacious and served its purpose as intended. A full kitchen area with a separate dining living room area. A private bedroom, with two comfortable queen beds and a separate bathroom dressing area. The bed was comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water, the living room comfortable, the kitchen served its purpose. The interior courtyard has several areas to sit relax and enjoy the environment. Pool area on one end, a lounge and snack machine area in the middle and another seating area in the back with multiple places to sit, chill and enjoy the space outside but secluded from the traffic and outside influences. Check out was quicker than checking in, and the day staff equally as professional and kind. A comfortable nights stay and a fair enough price for the area. Served its purpose and the staff were all accommodating and professional. 3.5 Stars rounded up for the free parking included 00897

    Freshly broken lock

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! NOT SAFE!! I stayed for 1 day and 1 night because upon arrival back from the day out before going to bed, I went to lock the door and the front doors top lock was completely broken off. It was freshly cut. They offered a complementary upgrade/another room. I denied both and wanted a refund for the remainder of my time as I was suppose to be there for 1 week. They told me that they will not be refunding me. Pictures below.

Clean, well kept room (accessible #113). Comfortable bed. Pool and hot tub were great, although the hot tub could be hotter. Nice "sanctuary" area beyond the pool. Hotel was pretty quiet the night we stayed. Staff was friendly.

I do not consider this a hotel. More like a motel. Front desk staff are unfriendly and unhappy. They only allowed one parking space per reservation. There are no exceptions even though we are willing to pay for an extra car parking for our son who's meeting up with us for the weekend. We were told to park in neighborhood street parking which were very limited availability, despite there were plenty of empty parking spaces. The rooms are spacious but smells like an old house and like someone smoked in them. Both the toilet and sink are lose and shakes. This is more like a 3 star motel. Spend a little more and find a better place to spend time with your family not worth the price.

    Cute kitchen area

Comfortable beds, cute grounds with lots of foliage. Plenty of parking all along the sides. The kitchen area with fridge and dining table was awesome to eat at, especially in this era of coronavirus where everything needs to be takeout and we can't dine in. I did get kind of itchy and wasn't sure if it was from a flea? Unfortunately the pool and fitness facilities and breakfast buffet were closed due to COVID-19, but they offered sacks of prepackaged muffins, breakfast bars, trail mix, fresh clementines, and a giant chocolate chip cookie.

Within 24 hours my door was locked and I was not notified. I had left in the morning to Marin country Mart for a bagel and coffee and when I returned, I could not get into the room which was extremely dangerous considering I need to take medication at the same time every day. The front desk staff reported there was nothing they could do and wouldn't accept another payment method, they suggested cash. They publicly humiliated me at the front desk. Being one of the very FEW minorities staying here I felt very targeted. I felt that I would not have been treated the same if i looked different. The staff did not bother to assist/ help me navigate this.. no plan b or c? Just no? I had to stay out all day from 9am -5 pm. After all of that they said "oh well we can give you a prior authorization form".... Unbelievable! I will never stay here again. If you understand what a two-star hotel should offer, you honestly can't go wrong here. When I first arrived, the small lobby had a strong smell of chicken curry, and no one was at the front desk. I rang the bell... and instead of a receptionist, a tiny Chihuahua came out and stared me down. It was unexpected, to say the least. After about five minutes, the manager (Naveem) arrived and checked me in. He was accommodating and granted my request for an upstairs room. He even sells small bottles of water!! I was able to grab two for $1, which was convenient. The room itself was clean and fully equipped ....no bells and whistles, but it had everything you need: mini fridge, microwave, ironing board, hair dryer, central heat and AC. There were a few cosmetic issues (some wall scuffs and a door knob dent in the bathroom wall), but nothing that affected the functionality of the stay. My TV initially wasn't working, but Naveem sent a technician within a couple of hours who quickly fixed it. That responsiveness mattered. For two nights, my total was around $250 during Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day weekend...which is honestly not bad at all. You also get free self-parking and easy freeway access, making the location very convenient. There's even a Burger King about two blocks away if you need a late-night bite! Overall, for a quick 2-3 night stay in the San Rafael area, this place does the job and then some. Simple, affordable, and surprisingly reliable for its category.

Toilet seat was loose so it slid around. Our fire alarm went off at night because we had zero air circulation in a stuffy humid air chamber, which led to staff asking us to vacate under the assumption we had been smoking in the unit which we had not. We had to ask them to call the manager who ordered them to tell us to vacate and had to explain the problems with the unit that caused the false alarm. Parking lot is tiny, and the ticketing/gate system doesn't work oftentimes, leading people to have to back out into traffic to get out of the lot. The desk staff seems really nice and it's a shame, because we got the impression that the management is not so nice and mismanages the property by not giving their staff the resources they need to maintain the units or handle issues with the furnishings. There's lots of reviews of things being broken in various rooms and ours had a similar experience. It looks nice, but doesn't get maintained well, and management is quick to jump on you which results in an incredibly inhospitable and hostile atmosphere. I imagine working here is also not pleasant and I can pick up on the vibes that the staff are stressed.

Within days of checking in, I began experiencing repeated insect bites and ultimately documented multiple bugs in the room with photo and video evidence. I reported the issue to management expecting a reasonable and responsible response. Instead, I was met with denial and blame. I was offered only a minimal partial refund for unused nights if I agreed to sign a waiver, which was not a reasonable solution given the circumstances. The situation was not handled with the level of care or responsibility that should be expected when a guest raises a health and safety concern. Due to the seriousness of the issue and lack of proper resolution, this matter has been escalated through appropriate channels.
