Let's start with the good. Hotel close to amenities with spacious rooms and kitchen set up, as well as a great pool and hot tub and plenty of parking. The kids loved the pool and we loved having them sleep on the pullout sofa in the livingroom, rather than having their bed feet from us. The bathroom had larger lotion bottles and we had room to spread out and eat a meal at a table and lounge on the couch. Now for the areas of improvement. Walking into both the lobby and our room there was a musty odor. The place seems understaffed and overwhelmed with maintenance issues. While we were in the lobby twice: 1) waiting to check in and then 2) waiting to request towels at the pool (second time requested in 90 minutes) we heard complaints about: 1) televisions that just turned off while patrons were watching them and wouldn't turn back on, 2) room phones that didn't work and 3) toilets that didn't flush. In our own room, everything worked but there was evidence of needing more cleaning attention and updating as well. The bathtub had been repainted in areas. Around the drain had rust spots. The shower caulking was discolored. The tray on the bathroom counter had rust on it. There were spiderwebs on the bathroom shelving and in the corner of the bathroom there was hair. And at the pool there were no pool towels for 2 hours, despite multiple requests, despite signs in the room saying don't use the room towels and despite a pool full of kids at 955 and the pool closing at 10pm. Our choices were break the rules or break the rules. Also at least one patron was upset about kids swimming and making noise and kept coming out of her room to lean down look at the pool and frown, but quiet time didn't begin until 10pm and they booked a hotel where all rooms surrounded the pool so.... read more

This place is an absolute treasure. With restaurants and cafes nearby, it's easy to access food and necessities by foot. The property itself is well maintained with a lovely cabana style pool; large enough to get a great swim in. As well, a hot tub that stays accessible until 10pm. The staff have all been kind and friendly. The room was wonderful; suite style with a full kitchen (stove top, large fridge and microwave). Privacy was a must and it felt very much like we got it. All of this at a very reasonable price I highly recommend this wonderful hotel. I will Most definitely be back! read more

The rooms are spacious and feel more like small apartments than standard hotel rooms, which made our stay extra comfortable. Probably the worst hotel experience ever. We stayed the night after flying from BOS to SFO on our way to Yosemite. This hotel is severely outdated, dirty, old etc. Like, don't want to sit on the couch or lie on the sheets type of dirty/old. But even worse was the noise from the room above us, there was a tween party and the girls made massive noise all night long. I called the front desk and nothing was done. We got no sleep. On a Friday in Mid May, we stayed here for 2 nights. It's located outside of San Francisco in Corte Madera close to Trader Joe's and bev mo. The parking is one way in and out. The lobby is on the side. They gave us 2 free bottles of water. Our room is on the 3rd floor corner. The elevator is old school only 2 -3 people fit inside. The room has a kitchen, living room with 2 bedrooms. It appeared to be clean and no problems. Not too far from Muir Woods. read more

I am very pleasantly surprised with this hotel! What a great place to stay at when you're trying to do a quick business trip or a trip for pleasure. We stayed at this hotel because it was close to all of the spots we wanted to visit, which is the first benefit. Secondly, they had an open Jacuzzi and sauna, which for some reason not many people took advantage of. We loved the amenities, nothing crazy but also beats many other hotels in the area. It is clean inside the room and you are offered a mini kitchen even with one king bedroom, which is very cool. We loved our stay at marin suites hotel, and we will be back. Great location, nicely appointed rooms, and the staff was very helpful and gracious. This hotel used to be an apartment building; after checking in this became apparent because everything we needed was included in the room. A full size fridge, stove, plates, pans and cutlery. The bed was comfortable and the hot water and shower were perfect after a long day Road travel. The pool area looked inviting and upon and learning that the water was warm definitely made me want to take a dip. But I was only there for one night and didn't bring a swimsuit. The Sanctuary was the star off the hotel both the inside seating area and past it onto the garden lounging area. I look forward to our future stays at this Corte Madera respite! read more

We needed a relaxing day after moving , a total move that took 5 days ! Our bodies were tired and so sore . We found that they participated in resort pass . We bought a day room and were able to have the room from 10-5pm as well as enjoy all the amenities that they have to offer . We started in the sauna to relax our body , then we headed to the hot tub and finished up with another sauna session. Their salt water pool is my favorite not harsh on your hair or skin but it was pretty cold today so although it is heated , I could not go in . When. We finished having our self care we still had about 3 hours until check out so we went to get pedicure at madera nails before heading into SF for date night . We will definitely be doing this again and bringing our teens along to enjoy . read more

I'm spending four nights and my initial impressions are quite positive in a retro kind of way. Depending on where your room is located, you might find there to be a fair amount of road noise. However, I thought it was quite noisy until I closed the windows which were opened a little bit, and that made things much quieter. The small kitchenette is adequate with a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. There's a small dining table with two chairs, a nice desk and another sitting chair in my room. The bed is comfy and the bathroom is nice. It is an older property, but it seems to be very nicely maintained. The closet in my room is huge and I was pleasantly surprised to find a safe for my valuables and robes. A nice pool area as well as a beautiful courtyard is available and in between the two areas is a covered, very comfortable seating area with vending machines. Overall a wonderful hotel stay. The only negatives for me are no blackout curtains on the windows and it takes a long time to get hot water. Otherwise a pretty cool Hotel with reasonable rates. Easy walking distance to a shopping center, restaurants and Safeway grocery store. read more

Huge rooms with friendly staff that's available 24/7. This comes in handy since I come in late from Los Angeles. It's not the Ritz Carlton but for the price you can't go wrong, very spacious one bedroom with living room and kitchen which includes a working fridge. Yes the tub is going to have a rust stain on it, the hotel was probably built in the 70s. If that bothers you wear your chanklas in the shower Its located next to a mall incase you forgot them. Check in was easy, even on a busy afternoon woth mulitple events going on this place was booked solid. The front desk staff was professional and kind, made checking in easy and effortless. My double queen suite room upper floor in the back was spacious and served its purpose as intended. A full kitchen area with a separate dining living room area. A private bedroom, with two comfortable queen beds and a separate bathroom dressing area. The bed was comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water, the living room comfortable, the kitchen served its purpose. The interior courtyard has several areas to sit relax and enjoy the environment. Pool area on one end, a lounge and snack machine area in the middle and another seating area in the back with multiple places to sit, chill and enjoy the space outside but secluded from the traffic and outside influences. Check out was quicker than checking in, and the day staff equally as professional and kind. A comfortable nights stay and a fair enough price for the area. The room itself is very nice and well kept. However the customer service is definitely lacking. Hot tub is cold, toilet is broken and runs all the time, never any towels. You try to get some help at the desk and it's oh there's nothing we can do about that right now. Not the level of service you'd expect for the price. This place was great for my family. I had two little ones and the room size was perfect. Two queen beds, full size fridge, microwave and a dining table. There was good storage space, mirrors on the closet. They provided coffee for the coffee maker, sparkling water. The gentlemen at check in and out were super friendly and helpful. The pool was heated, jacuzzi was great. They had a fireplace ice machine water filling station and games like connect four and corn hole. The only thing was the tube the faucet was outdated and I felt it was going to come off but other than that it was close to the Golden Gate Bridge and stores. It was a great location. I needed to find a long term lodging in Corte Madera, the sales manager was very nice on the phone and I decided to take a Quick Look at a room so I could decide if this was the place to stay. I went to the front desk explained the situation to the young man and was told I needed an appointment to view a room, again explained that I had spoken with the sales manager and suggested he call her, he replied she doesn't accept calls after work ( it was 4:30 - 5pm on a Thursday ) I asked again and he told me to make an appointment, the parking lot was mostly empty so obviously not sold out. Lost a valuable customer today. This was our go to place to have client's come when they visited. We've recommended at least 20 people over the last year to stay here. We had a issue at our house and while we are looking for a new home we decided to stay here in a 1 bedroom garden view for a week. When we first arrived Tim was super nice and welcoming. When we got to the room it was nice but it had some issues but we were willing to look past them. On day 3 some upstairs neighbors began to be super loud and stomp from 8am - 1am. All day and night. We have to book another week so I went to the front desk and the "manager " was so rude and when I asked what could be done he replied sarcastically "Well you always have the option to go other places". I would think having a good customer who is about to book another week is a benefit to the business, but I guess not. Being a business owner myself, I hope the hotel makes changes to keep customers who come back and send clients to stay here. Won't be coming back sadly. read more

I do not consider this a hotel. More like a motel. Front desk staff are unfriendly and unhappy. They only allowed one parking space per reservation. There are no exceptions even though we are willing to pay for an extra car parking for our son who's meeting up with us for the weekend. We were told to park in neighborhood street parking which were very limited availability, despite there were plenty of empty parking spaces. The rooms are spacious but smells like an old house and like someone smoked in them. Both the toilet and sink are lose and shakes. This is more like a 3 star motel. Spend a little more and find a better place to spend time with your family not worth the price. read more

Comfortable beds, cute grounds with lots of foliage. Plenty of parking all along the sides. The kitchen area with fridge and dining table was awesome to eat at, especially in this era of coronavirus where everything needs to be takeout and we can't dine in. I did get kind of itchy and wasn't sure if it was from a flea? Unfortunately the pool and fitness facilities and breakfast buffet were closed due to COVID-19, but they offered sacks of prepackaged muffins, breakfast bars, trail mix, fresh clementines, and a giant chocolate chip cookie. read more

Visited here on a trip to Napa. The outside areas of the hotel are updated and nice. The rooms themselves need some work. We had to move rooms due to an issue and the second room was very musty and outdated. The appliances in the kitchenettes really could use a refresh. The layouts are a little different and seemingly every room is different from the other. Here is a recap from the three- 2 bedroom suites we experienced. 1st one - the second bedroom was tight - there was a closet tho that was good sized. The main bedroom (with the king sized bed) didn't have a closet. There is only one bathroom and it is pretty tight as well there are no mirrors in the bedrooms as that is always helpful when only one bathroom is offered. 2nd- it was musty. The second bedroom had two beds this time but no air conditioning unit in the room. The main bedroom had a closet in this one. The kitchen appliances were even older in the second. They did work tho, I will make note of that. 3rd - this room was probably the nicest of all. Both bedrooms were larger and better equipped. But still had an outdated feel. I cannot speak to the one bedroom and the other rooms but our rooms were clean. I think the cleaning staff does a good job. All depends what you are looking for in a hotel stay but this was my experience. I would love to see the inside of the rooms to match the grounds outside. read more

But for Marin Suites I absolutely had to write something. I can't say much about how the sleep was because I was only in the room for about 20 minutes - but that was 20 minutes too much. The pictures below detail what I discovered as I plopped down into the couch after a long day and my hand rested on something ...crusty. When you know its a bodily fluid, and snot is the most appealing option, you know things are bad. If that nastiness, proudly displayed on the top of the couch and the first thing you see walking in, is any indication of how they clean the rooms I pity the rest of the guests, ESPECIALLY in a time of Covid. Not to mention it generally gives off a vibe of "someone has found a body here", the elevator was out, and the pictures on the website are nothing short of outright lies. Hospitality at its best! From the front desk to housekeeping -- the staff was wonderful and incredibly responsive to our needs. We stayed as a family. Marin Suites was home away from home while our house was undergoing construction. The heated pool, the hot tub, the courtyard, and the barbecue areas were a big plus. The self-service laundromat and fitness center also made our stay more convenient. Everything was clean. Our one bedroom suite was spacious. It was nice to have a full kitchen and bath. We had everything we needed! This place is a hidden gem with a wonderful staff that went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Staying here felt more like a community than a hotel. I am giving this one star because I was refunded when I had to leave the hotel because it was not clean and I was there specifically recover from a surgery. I got into town late and had no choice but to stay the night. There was dust all over the ceiling fans, the fire extinguisher, inside the A/C units, the kitchen stove was not clean and a burner was broken, the counter tops were sticky, most surfaces were not clean, the fridge was not clean, some of the outlets didn't work, some of the lights didn't work, the elevator was a joke, and there was hair on some of the towels. I would not recommend this hotel at all. As I said, I'm only giving one star because they gave me a refund. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. The place is horrible. Black mold on the shower tile and rusted out lights in the bathroom. And don't get me started on the condition of the furniture - I will not be held responsible for the condition of it. When I sat my bag down and realized the chair was clawed up I videod right away, because when I checked in I signed a waiver that I'd pay for pet damages. There's wifi but it's locked, and I got no password and no one answers the phone so couldn't get it. And if your booking service says there's breakfast, there isn't. I booked this hotel before I saw the yelp rating. Priceline has a 7.9 rating on this hotel. Our stay started well with just a few concerns, door lock and phone not working at 100%. It was the plumbing issues at 6:30 am on Sunday, with no one to help, no manager or supervisor, or maintenance to help resolve this issue that we are giving it a 1 star. We had to drive to Home Depot to buy a plunger bc we were told that they would not have a key to the closet until to get access to a plunger until 7:30 am. Again that was after we were given a 7 am time that someone would be able to assist us. I have called this hotel back with the help of Priceline twice since my stay,and still no manager has been onsite to take my call. So I am writing this review 4 days after my stay bc the hotel has yet to call to apologize or make things right. read more

Stayed here one night in May 2021. Lots of hotel options in the area, including Marriott, however picked this one based on reviews and pics - and the price indicated that this will be a notch above Marriott ($299 per night inclusive of taxes etc). We got here and this is really not a 'hotel'. It has a tiny room used as a Lobby, and all the guest rooms had entrances which seems like a motel. The King Bed Suite was very spacious but everything is old. Like really old. The bathrooms have old style setting where you can't even put much of your toiletries near the faucet. The rooms do not have a full length mirror, which is something I have never seen a hotel room not have. We had to get ready for a wedding and not having a full length mirror was annoying, although it's a very first world kinda problem! :-) The staff was nice enough to confirm that none of the rooms have it, nor do they have any solution. Anyway, this is not a $200-300 per night kinda place. At best, a $100-140 per night kinda place. Lower your expectations and you will likely not be disappointed. Will never stay here again! Stayed for one night during the middle of the week with my fiancé in a one-bedroom "motel" aka apartment complex that has been converted to "suites." From a first look this suite looks nice, but when you look closely it was dirty and unsanitary. Pros: Since the room was a one bedroom apartment there was lots of space. Full kitchen with dining area and couch. Bathroom was large, but small sink area with limited area to place items. Water pressure was good and shower was clean. Continental breakfast was really good. Just what you would expect from any hotel. Waffle maker, egg omelettes, yogurt, bagels, etc. The pool looked real nice..lots of teenagers using it as eel as several adults in the spa. Cons: Newly remodeled, but looks like they finished in a hurry. It was a hot day the night that we stayed and our room was 81 degrees when we arrived. No central AC. They have 2 portable AC's on wheels that you can move, however we put both of them in the bedroom and it still took 6 hours for the room to cool. We also had to open the window to let cool air in and out room was against the highway, so it was extremely loud all night. We got no sleep. On top of all that there was a blood and weird looking stain on both pillow and bed sheets..(see photos). I would NOT stay here again due to hot, stuffy room and lack of cleanliness. read more
