Be aware that this hotel is UNDER CONSTRUCTION, and the front desk manager claims Marriott policy doesn't allow that kind of notification for guests when booking. So consider this your official notification. Here's what my May, 2025 stay featured: --Beds, linens, hotel room safes, and random furniture stacked up along the hallways by my room --NO HEAT during temps in the 30s. Eventually somebody delivered a space heater. --Loud constant DRILLING noises making sleeping, phone calls, zoom meetings, and just relaxing completely impossible. It starts at 8:00 AM and goes until 7:00 PM (!!?!) --NO CABLE-- Just a Samsung app on the TV that offers old reruns of game shows. No cable news, no local channels, no live sports. When I inquired about this, I was told there had been a contract disagreement with DirecTV during the (still in progress) remodel. Whatever you do, AVOID this hotel and let Marriott/Bonvoy know what you think about their policy of hiding renovations in progress from prospective guests when they book.

    They don't clean their bedding.

Love the tea supply in the rooms. But really grossed out by the yellow stains all over the blanket.

Thermostat in the room - heat only, no cooling.

Not what I was expecting from a Marriott property... It was clearly built as a different hotel and was converted over to a FourPoints. The room is decent enough, very clean and the staff is super friendly. Biggest frustrations and reason for only three stars: 1. No airport shuttle and it was $35 after tip for a taxi. 2. The room has no air conditioning only heat? I'm on the 7th floor and the room was roasting at 74 degrees. The only option is to open the window to cool it down. I was up five or six nights opening and closing the window because it would get too hot and then too cold again. I'm glad I'm only here two nights and if/when I visit Juneau again, I'm not sure I'm going to stay here again.

The venue itself is rich with history, which adds a lot of character to the place. The bartenders were all friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. If you're in Juneau, I'd recommend stopping in for a drink and soaking up the historical atmosphere. I'm looking forward to coming back on our next visit!

The convenience of the location simply does not outweigh the poor hospitality and lack of customer care we experienced. I normally enjoy supporting small independent businesses like this one, but this stay has made me seriously rethink where I choose to spend my money going forward. Having stayed in both luxury hotels and unique properties with character, I know that basic professionalism and genuine guest care should be standard regardless of price or style. Disliked · Upon our arrival to this property we made our way to our room only to discover it was not the Family Loft with two queen beds we had specifically booked. Instead, we were given a room with one queen bed and a pull-out couch. When I returned to the front desk, I was told the booked room was occupied by a long-term tenant and unavailable. While I understand availability issues can arise, the hotel had been in direct contact with me through the booking platform's messaging system prior to our arrival and never mentioned this problem. It appeared they chose not to inform us, likely to prevent us from canceling. The pull-out couch was in poor condition, making it impossible for our adult family member to get a decent night's sleep. The queen bed was also uncomfortable, with our feet elevated in an awkward position. The window was broken and OPEN at least 2 inches. We did not expect a luxury resort, but we did expect the room type we reserved. Most concerning was the staff's response. Rather than showing empathy or offering solutions, they became defensive, blaming the booking company and stating the room had been unavailable for weeks. Since I booked December 6th, this lack of notification wasted our time and created unnecessary inconvenience. I politely requested compensation for just one night due to the inconvenience, which I believe was more than reasonable. Unfortunately, the hotel made no effort to resolve the situation or make things right despite my several follow-ups. Prospective guests should be aware: while the location may seem convenient, the poor communication, room inaccuracies, and indifferent customer service made this a frustrating experience we would not repeat. To make matters worse, the hotel was crazy loud until 3am due to the bar adjacent to the property, making rest nearly impossible. We will be visiting Juneau several times a year in the coming years with August 2026 being our next stay, sadly we cannot support this small business.

The location is incredibly convenient--just minutes from the Juneau International Airport and with easy access to all the main roads. Whether you're coming in for sightseeing, business, or outdoor activities, this hotel serves as a perfect hub. We drove by the Super 8 and the Wyndham Travel Lodge and each looked sketchy. Juneau doesn't have a wide selection of hotels, and Aspen Suites clearly sets itself apart. It was, by far, the cleanest and friendliest property we encountered. The rooms are well-maintained, and the staff does an excellent job keeping everything spotless. One of the big advantages is that the hotel offers air conditioning--something not all places in Juneau have, which can be a big plus during the warmer months. Also the Kitchenette allowed us to shop for food and save on "eating out". The hotel also features a large, clean, and well-equipped laundry room, which is incredibly useful if you're on an extended trip or coming back from Alaskan adventures in need of fresh clothes. The front desk staff was helpful and courteous, and while the building has three floors, there are elevators and multiple luggage carts available to make check-in and check-out smooth and efficient. If you're visiting Juneau, I highly recommend considering a suite at Aspen. The extra space and amenities make a big difference, especially after a day of exploring. Overall, this hotel delivers comfort, convenience, and great service--all at a very reasonable value.
