Stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and the service great. For the price of under $100/night, I was very pleased. That includes a decent breakfast, 24 hour coffee or tea, and afternoon cookies. They have a nice pool and hot tub, but the pool is outdoors and not heated. The thing I liked the least was the coffee offered, it didn't give me a pick me up, but that could have just been me. The motel is also walking distance to shopping centers with restaurants, a Trader Joe's, and a movie theater. read more

Disappointing stay, but breakfast and pool were nice Unfortunately, this hotel fell short of expectations. The rooms felt dark and very outdated, and the shower temperature wasn't adjustable--just hot and hotter--to the point where I couldn't stand under the water. The beds were uncomfortably stiff, and when I asked for extra pillows, the front desk told me there weren't any. It took asking three different staff members over the next couple of days before someone finally found two for us. On a positive note, the breakfast was great, and the pool was a nice touch, especially with the heat outside. Those were the highlights of an otherwise disappointing stay. read more

It's a very nice hotel in warm weather but in colder weather, they apparently have no hot water in shower. Theyclain They lain the heater is outside and if temps drop below 40, heater shuts off. That seems something that need be addressed. If you like cold showers, this your hotel otherwise think again before staying. read more

Not sure if maybe the negative reviews were further back, maybe under different management but our overnight stay was GREAT!!! We made reservations a week in advance, ADA needed...room was perfect for me, roll In shower, bars where needed, not one complaint!! Free breakfast, they change it daily, along with the usual breakfast staples A+!!! Price was reasonable, less than some of the others I checked in to!! Staff was very friendly and attentive, both phone and desk wise. Great location, right off the freeway, strip mall around the corner (REALLY good mexican restaurant, highly recommend) Definitely will stay here again if we're in the area...thank you for the great stay, keep up the good work!!! read more

The property was decent, check in staff was helpful and friendly. It was convenient, reasonably priced, comfy beds, and a great free breakfast. Downsides were noise at night , older building so I could hear every door close . In addition I'd suggest they have the police do a loop thru there at night or get security to patrol, the location is tucked in a corner and the parking lot seems to have a lot of activity . I can handle myself but it did make me a little uncomfortable and worried for my car. read more

We will not be back. No body soap or hair conditioner in the shower dispensers. NO housekeeping during our 3 day stay nor were we told they only do housekeeping once every 3 days. We had to go to night clerk every night for clean towels & coffee. Beds were very noisy - maybe old springs & mattresses. Walls are paper thin, you could hear neighbors normal conversations on both sides & above. Breakfast was terrible. Homeless people everywhere outside & even came into the dining room harassing guests. read more

I wouldn't recommend this hotel. I stayed at this hotel on the 26th of September. I had read reviews after I booked the room, but called and asked the clerk if it was a safe and a clean place to stay. She assured me that the reviews were old and they have taken steps to better the place. I checked in and went to my room 118. Opened the door to a bad smell in the room. When I sat on the bed it squeaked so bad I knew I wasn't going to get any sleep. The lighting above the sink to do makeup was horrible! The worst thing was having breakfast in the dining room while homeless are coming and help themselves to the food!!! The clerk did ask them to leave after they filled plates of food! The lighting in the parking lot is not good and I worried about my truck all night because of the homeless. This location is really hard to find as the hotel is right behind the freeway & poorly seen. The quality inn down the street is a much better choice, the beds are incredible!!! read more

If I could give this place a zero I would! I scheduled a stay at this Worst Western in Chico through Expedia because my A/C had gone out and I needed a place to cool off. However, I cancelled my reservation with Expedia well within the cancellation policy time (I have the email to prove it). But, Best Western ignored the cancellation and charged me anyway. Then, when I contacted Expedia to find out what happened, they called the Hotel and was told by the manager that I reached out to them directly and also actually stayed at the Hotel. Decent mid-grade accommodations. I stayed here during my last vacation to Chico. Though not downtown, this hotel is in a pretty central location adjacent to the 99, a few main roads, and North Valley Plaza. Its location alone makes it convenient to just about anywhere in the city if you have a vehicle. Speaking of vehicle, parking is ample. It's near lots of shops and restaurants with plenty of food options in a block's radius. The building itself has been updated but isn't what I'd consider five-star accommodations. When I arrived, check-in was quick and easy. My room was clean but the air conditioner was busted which made for a fairly uncomfortable experience. That said, it wasn't to the point where I felt the need to switch rooms, so I digress. I didn't take advantage of the amenities, but there were a few: a small pool, a gym, and a banquet room which I'm assuming could be rented. It was the best bang for my buck at the time I was looking for accommodations. I'd come again. read more

We stayed here one night while visiting the campus. The staff are awesome. Everyone was cheerful, welcoming, and treated us like honored guests. The room was larger than I expected, and the beds were VERY comfortable. There was plenty of hot water. And my daughter was able to get an additional large towel (and they're LARGE and fluffy...super nice) since she likes using two large towels. Those are two of the three things I care about the most. The third is the a/c. It uses a thermostat, but it didn't seem to work very well. I had the setting to 68 but we all woke up hot in the night. I would also like a way to have the fan run steadily during the night for the white noise and the air circulation. And I have to say the toilet is REALLY loud when you flush it. Also if you're a first timer, you need to know that it's hard to see where you're supposed to turn for the hotel. We went down to the light the first time and made a left. Then we snaked through the KMart lot until we got to the frontage road and were able to get to the lobby. Daughter used the exercise room and thought it was nice. The machines were in good, working condition. The location of the hotel is north of the campus, but it's a short drive down to get to downtown. If you turn left out of the hotel, there's a large shopping area with some good eating places. And there's a nice CVS as well. read more

3 starts because the staff are amazing, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is great...except one thing... I don't know iff its all the rooms, but my room had no sound proofing. So I heard the whole argument (which was not a loud yelling match) they were just arguing all night. Literally, at one point she said, "It's 3 o'clock in the morning, I don't know what you want from me, I just want to go to sleep." To that poor girl, yes I know your name but I'm not going to put it for the whole internet to read. She knows who she is, if you are reading this: honey, you can so much much better than that self-centered sniveling, selfish, jerk. You need to let him go. Almost anyone is an upgrade from him and you are much better off alone. read more

My family and I came to visit family in Chico. The location is great because it is right off the freeway. There is also a Kmart in walking distance to the hotel, just in case you forgot any items. The lobby had some cookies available at check in (my daughters loved this). They had a little bit of variety at the vending machine and one hotel computer. The continental breakfast was fine, a bit small, but it worked. The sheets and bathrooms appeared clean. Nothing to write home about, but it certainly did its job. read more

On March 10,2019 my friend ( now boyfriend ) was violently without warning and from behind assaulted, when another guest in this Chico CA BW cowardly pinned him to the hall wall & sucker punched him. I witnessed this and my friend lay unconscious for approx 7?mins. I called out for help to the front desk, then called for paramedic that I heard didn't show due to somebody blocking it. Let's go in order....my wife checked us in and was interrogated about whether or not our service dog was a service dog. We had papers but continued to be questioned. Second, we walk through the hallway and it felt and looked like a scary movie. Third- hotel says smoke free however it reeked like smoke!!!! Four- parking lot is super dark. Five- creeps in the parking lot sleeping on the grass at night. Six- carpets look soiled. Seven- they "mistakenly charged" an extra hundred on my credit card which I have to ow disputed if it doesn't come off. Eight- did I say spooky motel is located behind a Kmart? Ugh Ten- there is absolutely nothing close by that can be safely walked through. Eleven- no central air. Twelve- we hated the entire stay. Thankfully it was only one night. read more

We stayed here during a recent visit to Chico. When I called to make the reservation, the person at the front desk gave me incorrect information regarding the military discount. I contacted corporate and was able to get the correct info. The hotel itself was good, but basic. They allow dogs, and waived the pet fee, which was great. Our band and the Non-profit stayed here at this hotel after a show. The staff was kind enough to let us hang in the lobby after our show and we had brought our own snacks and alcohol. We did get a few shushes from the front office staff and eventually called it a night. The rooms were clean and presentable. The AM's they offer until 10:30 a decetn breakfast spread- including DIY waffles- which was the highlight of my breakfast-ing! need I say more?! read more

I only gave a star because I had too in order to post. This place is a absolute sh*t hole. We booked the hotel over Hotels.com and when we arrived to the hotel the lights were out and it looked pretty sketch pulling up (screens popped out of Windows). We actually were so uncomfortable with the appearance that we tried to cancel it right away but were unable to because the manager on duty wasn't willing to cancel our reservation that we made 30 mins before arriving. We went into our first room 218 (non smoking) and it had cigarette burns in the carpet, hairs in the bed and a dirty shower. I went down stairs to talk to "Craig" and he said he would be willing to move us, but first he wants to look at the room...which, if I'm telling you it's gross, it's gross. He came to check the room- saw the hair on the pillow and pulled it off and dropped it on the floor like that was going to fix the nasty room. Craig gave us another room (again, non smoking) 324- which smelt like a smoking lounge. Needless to say, We left and I will be disputing the charges. KEEP AWAY because the hotel is outdated, gross, and Craig was NOT HELPFUL, RUDE and UNWILLING TO SATISFY HIS CUSTOMERS NEEDS. read more

Stayed July 29th, 30th and 31st, 2019. Excellent staff. Rooms were clean and well appointed. However.....There are homeless, drug addicted-impaired-psychotic creatures roaming the parking lot and sleeping in the bushes surrounding the building. My sisters were confronted by a mad man as they approached the hotel lobby when they were checking in.....To his credit, the Clerk came out, escorted them in, and locked the front doors as the mad man banged on the windows to the lobby. There are creatures roaming and living in the lot next door (KMart) and throughout the area. THERE IS NOWHERE SAFE TO WALK FROM THE HOTEL AND IF YOU STAY THERE, KEEP YOUR HEAD ON A SWIVEL, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. Parking lot is poorly lit.....Mexican nationals drinking and partying in the parking lot until after 10:0PM....and NO SECURITY GUARDS. I really like Chico, though I do not have cause to visit very often. The lastest venture brought me to the Best Western Heritage Inn. My general rating for a place like this would be 3. They suffice as a place to lay your head, and there is a no frills attitude, at a no frills price. Fine. I like that. But here, the No Frills Attitude is often accompanied by a not so helpful smug attitude at the front desk. Really? The place needs some work too. There is only one light functioning in the elevator, and when that goes the room will be plunged into utter darkness. The free wireless has more bugs than den of .... bugs. There were countless plumbing issues I overheard. So this place needs a minor overhaul and an attitude adjustment. It is not a bad place to sleep, just do not expect much more, and not much help from some of the staff along the way. read more

But Because I changed my room category request, the reservation defaulted to the very next day, unbeknownst to me, until I got a survey asking me how was my stay... Called the Best Western Central Res number and asked for a Manager, and was told that yes, they had charged my Credit Card for my full stay. I explained what had happened, and the Manager said that they got that complaint before. This was a known glitch, but had NOT been fixed. She contacted the property, and asked if they would rebook me for the correct stay, the property told her NO, I had to make my OWN re reservation, they would not refund my credit card, and would not apply it to my actual future stay. Hilton, Marriott or any other brand would NEVER treat their guests this way, so BEST WESTERN... stay down at low to mid level, because you will never aspire to a greater guest experience, when the fault is YOURS but you will not accept the responsibility. read more

Rooms were clean breakfast was great. We had a large group of almost 15 rooms, and the customer service was unbelievable. The young lady who set up the breakfast (Sandra) was extremely professional and very kind. She noticed our large group and went above and beyond to make sure all the breakfast items were continuously stocked and made extra coffee. She also managed to attend to the other guests who weren't part of our large group. We travel a lot and stay in many hotels, but we will drive out of our way to stay here again. Up for the Chico Wildflower ride. The rooms were clean. Despite being full because of the ride, they refused to move the complementary breakfast up 2 hours to accommodate everyone. Instead, they dug up a mini yo plait yoghurt and a packaged Danish. This is dreck! It might have cost 2 more hours of labor to open the regular breakfast early for the riders. The manager view was that it didn't matter, he said that he would be full anyway. Down the street at Oxford Suites, the manager decided to open the complimentary breakfast. Never again will we darken the door at this Best Western. The theme of other Yelp reviews of this place carries through the same theme, poor management. read more

Wife and I were in Chico and decided to stay at the Best Western. The Best Western covers your three "S" - Sleep, Shower, & Sh!t. It's nothing fancy and just right off the 99. We got here late and checked in, the price was about $100 a night. The place has a bit of the mid 80's vibe to it but the place is in general good condition. We checked into our room and we must have gotten a mini-suite. It was a pretty good size room with probably the largest media armoire I've ever seen. The thing was huge, like 2 full size closets stuck together with a large media center in between. The room was worn, but had a wet bar, frig, jacuzzi tub, microwave, and the toilet and sinks were separate rooms. They also had a small sofa and sitting area in the room too. So a pretty good size room. We got the king size bed and for 1 night, it was comfortable enough. They also have cable with HBO and was able to log onto their WiFi with my phone. They also offer a free continental breakfast, but it's nothing fancy. Some stale pastries, old fruit, and a couple options for cereal. A couple of juices and hard boiled eggs are also offered. As to rating, at $100, I honestly can't complain too much. As I mentioned before it covers the the three "S" and that's really all that I needed. So overall if just the basics at reasonable price is what you're looking, this Best Western is a good price. A decent 3 star rating. read more

I will start with the positives. The hotel is clean. Now the negatives. Please note that I have stayed at this location on many occasions over the last few years. In the past I had a few bad experiences, but this last time was my last stay. I called to make a reservation and was quoted the price for a 3 night say (Thursday-Sunday). Upon arrival they only had my reservation for Thursday-Saturday. They would not honor the price they quoted me and advised that they only had one room, a smoking room available. I declined and decided to stay with a friend that was also staying there. When I inquired about why they couldn't adjust the rate, they said that if I wasn't there, someone else would be. In other words, they didn't value me as a customer. Later during my trip I was sitting in the lobby and I over heard the guy at the front desk tell another guest that was checking in, that they still had plenty of rooms available for Saturday night. I also over heard his comment about, if they weren't' there, then there would be other someone else. Again, not appreciating the guests that they do have. The front desk staff are beyond unprofessional, including their appearance. Their hair is greasy and their beards could use some maintenance. On Friday my room key stopped working. When I went to the front desk, the rude staff told me that I was swiping it wrong, but gave me a new key. That key still did not work. So the no-so-nice staff walked me to my room and realized it wasn't me, but their lock system. On Saturday I asked if my friend and I could get a late checkout on Sunday and was told "you got beat." I asked "what?" The rude front desk staff told me that everyone beat me to the punch and that I couldn't get a late-checkout. Again, unprofessional. There are nicer ways to tell someone no. On Sunday around 10:15am, while I was not fully dressed and blow-drying my hair, a hotel employee (not maid) came into my room. My room had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. I have no idea if they knocked or not, as I was blow drying my hair. My privacy is very important to me. When I stayed in this hotel earlier this year, I had them knocking on my door (do-not disturb sign was on the door) at 10:30am to see if I had checked out. Also, they hotel had front parking spaces closest to the door reserved for Staff Only. I cannot speak about the breakfast, as I didn't dare go there. This hotel does not appreciate the guests that they do have. They are rude and unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and go to another hotel as I am. I recommend the Holiday Inn, Oxford Suites and the Marriott hotels. read more
