I recently ordered two dozen tamales (one chicken and one chile relleno) from the pink food truck at Spencer's Fresh Market. While the chicken tamales were good, our experience with the chile relleno was beyond disappointing. While eating, we found two long brown hairs in two separate tamales from that dozen. We were so disgusted that we had to throw the entire dozen away. For several days, we felt sick just thinking about it. These tamales are quite expensive, and for that price, you expect basic food safety and hygiene protocols to be followed. Finding someone's hair in your mouth is unacceptable. I really hope the business looks into their kitchen protocols, as we will not be returning. read more

The pink food truck sits on the corner outside the Spencer's grocery store. Excellent for grabbing a bite to eat on the way home. Our favorite is the Cali burrito the fries are great and the burrito is very filling. The red salsa is spicy and perfect with burritos and tacos. The quesabirrias were great as well but if I were to come back it's always for their burritos. This entire order was complete in 20 min so very reasonable and the owner Beth is extremely nice and her daughter who often works in the truck is very friendly and welcoming. Beth just catered our children's Masters Degree party this weekend and she and her team did a fabulous job!! We had 55 people, they served street tacos with all of the fixings, beans, rice, chips and salsa, green salad, fruit platters, horchata and watermelon water!! So freaking good!! Placed an order for 8 Birria tacos on DoorDash was told would be ready by a certain time . Got there and the lady just told me it wasn't ready . Proceeded to wait another 20-30 mins standing around waiting for 8 tacos . Overall took about an hour to get the tacos was about ready to settle for something else Changed to 4 stars they gave me 2 extra tacos for the wait and advice to get it quicker . The tamales lack flavor, the masa needs a bit more salt. They also lack meat in their tamales. Personally I wouldn't try them again.

I've had delivery from this food truck twice now and both times it has been fantastic. We have tried the pork tamale, the Chile Arellano tamale, asada, tacos, and a Carnitas, I can't remember the name of it but it's basically like a fall quesadilla with meat and cheese inside. Everything was phenomenal. You can tell these quality ingredients and everything is homemade. Everything was fresh and the flavors were scrumptious. This pink food truck is always located next to spencers market in the Santa Maria/Orcutt area. If you have not checked it out, I definitely would. You can get it to be delivered via DoorDash, you could go and order at the food truck or you can call ahead to pick it up. We are definitely fans and we will be back. read more

I recently tried the pork tamales and they were good . They flavor the masa so it's moist and flavorful. I was wishing there was a bit more meat filling but overall it was great. I felt $36 is a little steep for a dozen so while I enjoyed, I probably wouldn't be buying them here all the time. They also gave us a huge bag of chips and pint of salsa must have been why it was so expensive. There was so pricing anywhere. The salsa lacked flavor but chips were amazing. We found it on social media and decided to drive to orcutt which was around 45 mins for us . Arrived and ordered 2 tamale plate and carne asada burrito . Tamales were a bit small but did have a good amount of meat and the asada burrito was 70% rice and the asada was grey chopped up small pieces of meat . We could hardly tell what type of meat it was . Rice and beans on the tamale platter was less then a 1/4 of cup , very small portions . Never leave bad reviews but have to be honest . read more

We hired Beth's catering at $17 a plate for our party. It was Street tacos, 4 per person, rice beans chips salsa and condiments. We arranged this 2 months in advance. We had 110 people plus 5 band members. Before we got to the last table she had run out of chicken and beans, and shortly after was out beef too. She then left and went to get more meat so the remaining 10 to 12 people would get their tacos. She came back with only some beef, and overcooked that. Myself and my wife let everyone go ahead of us. We had a band of 5 people. The lead singer of the band had a meal of taco chips and rice. My wife and I and several others ended up getting overcooked dry beef tacos, some rice, no beans, no condiments, and a few chips. She didn't apologize or offer a discount Her prices aren't cheap and we didn't get our money's worth. read more

I drive by this intersection all the time and had never stopped (partly cause I mostly cook at home and partly because I am careful not to eat just at any food truck on the side of the road). Today, I was really hungry and my hubby and I have a meeting tonight so no time to cook. So glad I stopped--Beth does a great job: tasty, fast and authentic! The tamales were pretty good too. I feel that Beth is one of the most honest and caring business owner. We ordered several dozens of tamales the other day and they were exceptional. My favorite were the pork . The meat was tender , well seasoned and plentiful. My son is a vegetarian so he had the chili relleno and cheese and bean and cheese. We went back for the sweet corn . All excellent. What i really like about Beth is that she stands behind what she sells. I had a sandwich there not to long ago and I felt that it was not up to her standards. I let her know and she offered to even bring me a free one. I told her that that was not my intention. I went Beth's Tamales this afternoon. I love the tamales. But I decided to try something different and bought the nachos. What a mistake. They were horrible!! I went straight hone and by the time I got there all had was a soggy mess. The bag they were in was even full of some sauce. The chips were a soggy mess and the carnitas were grisly. I should have taken a photo, but I just threw it away. It cost $14. It was inedible. Eww. But the servers are sweet and the tamales awesome. read more
