I highly recommend Betsy and her moving company; she is an absolute delight, and she really understands the intricacies of moving! First of all, she's a bundle of wonderful energy and connects with everyone right away, especially elderly folks where moving is incredibly stressful. She's focused, task oriented, organized and CARES. Her staff is amazing! They clearly like working for her; they are so polite, respectful, hard working, flexible, understanding, accommodating and friendly. It was 93 degrees when we moved my Mother and it didn't appear to faze Betsy's staff. At one point we needed to move a huge bed just six inches over, after they had already set it up, it was on risers, which means they they had to take the whole thing down and move it, and their response was "not a problem!" and did it effortlessly. Not impressed with this company. I explained exactly what my move was going to be, detailed what was going to be moved and where. I was quoted 2 people at $120/hour with no minimum. How does a 2 hour, 17mile, pre-packed studio size move to a storage garage cost $533 dollars? Morning of the move, 3 people show up. I figured the 2 person quote still applied since 1 of these 3 was the owner, maybe she was there to supervise? After work had already begun, the owner showed me a different quote , which was for 3 movers at $185/hr. I was confused, but figured the move would be a lot faster with 3 people. It wasn't. One guy, Greg, worked the whole time. The other guy and the owner spent some time arguing with each other, first about equipment, then about where the equipment had been placed, then about how to pack the truck. It was unprofessional. The owner and the other guy took a few boxes down, and didn't come back upstairs much. They were MIA for periods of time. I thought they were loading the truck while Greg was carrying boxes downstairs, but when I went outside, all the boxes were on the sidewalk. I have no idea what they were doing. All I know is I was paying for three people to move my stuff and only one was actually moving anything. Halfway through the move, the owner put a blanket over the door frame to protect it. This should've been done in the beginning. The move took exactly two hours, 8am-10am, but I was also charged for an extra 45min to drive truck back to their port, which was in the same town as my drop off point. Incidentally, my pick up point and drop off point were only 17 miles apart. The only positive was Greg. He's a star and should start his own moving company. I'd hire him. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I got quotes from several other companies. I chose this company because I wanted to support a female run business. I wish I had chosen a different company. read more

We used Betsy today to move our mother from one assisted living to another. We gave her very little notice and her "can do" attitude was so reassuring during a very stressful time for us.
