Got an iced blue coconut matcha. It was just the right amount of sweet! And the ice was surprisingly not too overwhelming.

I've been coming here for a couple of months now after work. The workers have always been nice and friendly, very quick and efficient. I've only gotten coffee so I can't attest to the rest of the menu but it's always been a pleasant experience. One constant issue I run into is the portions. If I get a coffee that doesn't require foam I expect my cup to be filled basically all the way. Especially if I'm paying 8 bucks for a regular. But more and more often my cup is 1/4 foam. Now that may seem like nothing but it starts to add up. I love coming here and I really don't want to have switch to a different coffee shop. So please just fill the cup of coffee up the way it should especially for 8 bucks for a regular. (In the photo I let the foam go down a little and it's pretty clear how much room there is)

Wow! I've been coming to this better buzz to edit and I am thankful for the service Ash, Pedro and Josh provide. This is the type of customer service all better buzz's should strive for. This location is super clean and well kept. The food is always super fresh and the drinks are always perfection. This place is always steeped in chaos. A dozen people working but somehow nobody at the counter and nothing is ready on time. I preordered online and came 15 minutes after my pickup time. My drink wasn't ready. I had to wave someone down because nobody was running the counter to ask about my drink. Not only had they not started it, they didn't even know about the order because it was inexplicably noted on a laptop that they had to retrieve from the back. Despite coming 15 minutes after my pickup, I waited an extra 20 minutes for my drink that they lost. Icing on the scone is: this isn't the first time the at this has happened to me at this location.

I'm visiting from out of state & my niece took me here because she really loves the matcha drink which she completely gulps down from the time we walk back to the car and I'm buckling up to go! I really liked the wall art and cool cafe set up. They had a nice pastry display case and the employee at the register was super friendly in helping me pick out a drink. I got a seasonal iced drink called coconut matcha with perfectly balanced sweet coconut and matcha flavors. I'm not a big matcha fan but I really enjoyed this combo. It almost reminded me of subtle pandan flavor. If I get come back, I would definitely try other menu items!

A frequent stop for us whenever we travel around SD/Escondido area. This location can get very busy and chaotic that we always opt to park and order instead of the drive-thru. The staff are very nice, so it's worth the store visit. Hazelnut Divinity by ordering it at 50% sweetness level since it can get pretty sweet. I also tried the Vanilla Bean Latte at 50% sweetness, but it was bland and milky. Maybe add a shot or just order HD. Still my favorite coffee go-to when in the area.

One of my favorite locations! Love the design of the cafe, the drive-thru and ordering inside or through the mobile app, and such friendly and personable staff. We always feel welcomed when coming into the cafe. I also love all of the indoor and outdoor seating. They have a lot of seating compared to most other north county BB locations. My husband and I recently went in and easily ordered our drinks and food. They gave me my pistachio croissant right away and my husband's ham and cheese croissant sandwich came out quickly. His iced best drink ever came out way before my iced horchata latte (like a 10 minute difference) but it didn't matter since we were enjoying our food. Even though I did have to wait longer for my drink, it was made perfectly. I wish all locations could master the iced horchata latte like they do here. Again just great vibes at this location always!

When will I learn my lesson about ordering food from this place? The drinks are fine, but the food is always a huge disappointment. I ordered their feta-avocado deluxe toast which is supposed to include balsamic drizzle, microgreens, lemon, avocado, feta and tomato. They gave me a dry piece of cold, untoasted bread with the thinnest layer of avocado, no balsamic, no greens, no seasoning. What a freaking rip off. Every single time at this place. Default tip screen starts at 25% in the drive thru and then terrible service.

I just came back from a medical missions trip to Mexico and I just wanted a cup of coffee and a treat. Barista, Pedro, was energetic and friendly. He remembered to take my phone number to collect the points when he took my order. Once I got to the window I got my drink from a very energetic Pedro! Tasting the drink I soon learned that barista, Lance took great care to give a delicious treat. Thank you guys for making my experience awesome. Plus, I loved my pumpkin loaf slice. Arold is the best!!!! i came into the cafe and there was a bit of a line but i didn't have to wait long at all! he was very kind and patient with the group in front of me, offered suggestions for food and drinks, and was very efficient and quick but not rushed. then he took my order, asked if i wanted any extra shots or alternative milk, and my order was ready within 5 minutes. a great spot to hang out. ample seating available -- indoor and outdoor. 10/10 recommend the deluxe açaí bowl. and the hazelnut divinity! (i get mine iced with an extra shot and oat milk)

I stopped into this location while visiting family from out of town and was pleasantly surprised. The decor is bright and welcoming and there's cute merch to browse while you wait. All of the pastries looked very appetizing but I chose the almond butter and jam toast and am so glad I did. I was blown away by the flavors on such a simple item. The whole thing was insanely good and I had to go back the next day for another helping. Service was quick and employees were friendly though they did forget the cold foam twice in a row on my drink order but happily remade them when I pointed it out.

Small cafe, but very cute. The coffee is more specialty, but it's good, but also VERY sweet. And super expensive! This is more of a treat coffee shop than a regular one. I love an iced best drink ever, 1/2 or even 1/3 sweetened. It's an americano with vanilla bean! During Covid, for one day they even gave out free drinks for first responders and military which we really appreciated. read more

On the service: Went here for the first time the other day, so I had some questions about a couple drinks I was considering. The kind girl taking my order said she hadn't tried them, and she couldn't offer any help on what they were like. My friend also inquired about one of their breads, wondering what it was, and a different girl taking her order told her she didn't know what it was. We went on a busy Saturday morning and the service was reasonably quick. On the food/drinks: On a positive note, my friend got the bread loaf anyway and it was lemon poppyseed and it was delicious and moist. I went with the mint iced coffee and was disappointed because I didn't taste any mint. It was on the sweeter side and had more of a vanilla sweet cream flavor. The staff kindly remade my drink with 1/2 sweetness, which helped a bit, made the mint a tad more prominent, but not by a whole lot. I appreciate the diversity of their menu and I wonder if they'd have something else I'd enjoy more, but might have to do a bit of trial and error. read more

Coffee isn't bad. They also have some food options. Not the best coffee shop to read or get some work done because the seating is limited and the inside is almost unbearable at times because of the lack of drop-down shades to block the glaring sunlight. Some of the seats face directly into the sun. Limited electric outlets too. read more

If I could give this place -1 stars I would. This place literally hires the slowest most incompetent baristas. What place literally forgets about your order twice? I come here every other week since I drive down to San Diego for work and every time I end up waiting almost 20 minutes because they lost my order. What a shame for a coffee place. This is by far my favorite coffee spot. They have a unique menu with really good food! My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is they TAKE FOREVER in the drive-thru. When I see a line it's an easy 30 min commitment and that's if they don't tell you to pull around and wait more in the front. They either need more staff or better protocols to speed up. read more

Update: stopped in to do some studying...big mistake. They are blasting music which in turn makes everyone talk over the music and it becomes impossible to focus. I had headphones up to the max listening to a lecture and still could hear the music. Got another drink, again half sweet and it was still outrageously sweet. The workers aren't rude but aren't entirely welcoming either. Got the avocado toasT and it was actually pretty good. That is the only reason for stars at all. This place did not live up to the hype. I am excited that there is a new chain coffee place with a drive thru in Escondido, but I can't say I would go to Better Buzz over other places. I asked for a drink half sweet, extra shot of espresso and extra ice and it was still extremely sweet. So they either made it wrong or their recipes are just filled with sugar. I also got the cinnamon something (monkey bread) and it was pretty bland and stale on the outside. I was there at 7:00am so I can't imagine it was very fresh. They have some kinks to work out with their drinks and food. On the plus side the atmosphere is much better than other chain coffee houses. It's bright and comfy and just feels good inside. I love how they redid everything. I would definitely go to study and maybe get a pour over coffee. Also, their espresso is ten times better than most as well. It doesn't taste burnt and the shots are something you could sip on if you're a straight espresso lover. In all I would go back to get some studying in, but it won't be my go to coffee place unfortunately. read more

What can I say.. the staff here is amazing!! I was super excited to have a BB up the street from my house. Needless to say this location did not disappoint. I love this location. We frequent the SM drive through, and try to hit Encinitas as often as we can, but the cashier at this place was amazingly fun and friendly. My 14 year old (who never comments on much) said I LIKE HER, she said groovy when you gave her your card. I said I noticed that too. Great service and food. Thanks! Just visited Better Buzz and loved it! I had their vanilla buzz frapchino and it was delicious! It perfectly balanced both it's coffee and sugar elements. Also, the interior was wonderfully designed with fun honeycomb patterns adoring the walls. Escondido really is on the rise in high quality establishments such as Koffie on Grand Ave and now there is Better Buzz to add to this ever growing list. I've come here 3 times besides DoorDash once or twice. The last two times now I've come here we've had problems whether it be giving us the wrong drinks and making us wait 30 mins for a new one and complimenting us with a pastry. The most recent time I've gone I got my drink unmixed and nothing in it but ground up straight black tasting coffee which was unacceptable with how long we had to wait. I am not leaving the parking lot until I give the biggest online shout out to the most amazing customer representative in all of San Diego County, MJ! Our past two times through the drive-thru was made special, specifically because of how friendly, funny and fabulous MJ is and the way she instantly connects with customers. The first time, she found out we were celebrating a special day and she went out of her way to make it even more special. When we left, I told no less than 10 people that weekend about how floored I am by the difference in friendliness in customer service of San Diego compared to our former home, the Bay Area. Again, specifically praising Better Buzz Escondido AND MJ!!! She not only helped me find my new favorite drink, The Killer Bee with Lavender but also made a long line a pleasant situation. When we returned today, two weeks later, she remembered us AND the drink! I don't remember what car I'm driving or if I put on matching socks for the day so, yeah... MJ and the whole staff at Better Buzz are what every company dreams of having: happy employees who have engaging personalities, building customer loyalty one buzzed cup of joy at a time! Met a friend there and had their dark roast blend. I added my usual half and half and sugar. Good taste. Staff was helpful, nice and enthusiastic. Not a big fan of the ambience though. I like the vibe and cozyness of Starbucks. I haven't tried the food yet, but I will sometime. Worth the visit for a good cup of coffee. read more

I finally had the time to stop by at this location.. AND let me tell you the customer service here is Ridiculously Amazing! The gal that took my order was super sweet and friendly. It definitely seemed like she loves her job unlike the workers at the San Marcos location. I order the avocado toast with a boiled egg on top and an iced hazelnut divinity with almond milk, half sweet. Everything was so Delicious! I want to give three stars because they are too expensive. $1 for oat milk?!?! But their staff is great and this chai is too. I still won't come as often because with a tip my drink is $8 and that's crazy. But it is very convenient for me so when I'm too busy or lazy to get out of my car and go into Jimbos across the road I'll drive thru. read more

I have been going to this better buzz ever since it has opened and it continues to be my favorite coffee shop in town. The coffee is amazing! I have almost had every drink on the menu (yes even the seasonal ones) and they are all superb. As a fan of chocolate, I have high standards for mochas and the mocha at this location is ambrosial! Let's also not forget their service and employees. I have always gotten a "Welcome to Better Buzz!" and a couple smiles ever since I have started going. The coffee comes out very quick and delicious, even when they are busy. There is also an energy inside that is not only welcoming but fun. It is a great place to get homework done and to talk with friends. They keep the place very clean and orderly with fun decorations and better buzz attire. Oh, and Nora, what an amazing worker, she has consistently given customer service that exceeds expectations. She constantly is going out of her way to help out customers and can still work efficiently at the same time. She is the best and I know that anyone who meets her will say the same thing! read more

So I'm from out of town, Connecticut to be exact, and I needed something quick and easy. At first I thought about going to a Starbucks, but then I remembered, wait, I hate cooperate America. So I found a Better Buzz. To say it was good, is an understatement. The staff was all nice, especially one girl, Jordan, or Jordyn, maybe Jordin, however it's spelt. She was kind and helpful on getting my order right. I ordered a Carmel latte with a Bacon Ciabatta. That was very good in all honesty. A lot better then the scums at Starbucks or Dunkin. I would have eaten inside, but I like the company of my car better. But all in all, it was an amazing experience with some amazing people. Honestly am very lucky with my coffee because I don't really like the strong coffee taste now, I under stand customer service is tough but giving a customer one cracked cup inside a normal cup and just giving them a straw and not mentioning anything like idk, hey the cup is broken you'll need to use the straw or it'll spill all over you, your car and your work clothes kinda ruins your morning when all you wanted was a decently priced coffee from a place you really like because of the coffee. not the first time i've been utterly confused why half the workers work there and why they don't use basic communication skills.. Happened a couple weeks ago but recently came in and they messed up my drink which i know stuff happens but being rude about it wasn't ok. idk if ill come back. read more

I recently visited Better Buzz Coffee in Escondido. The highlight of my visit was definitely the delicious crispy toasted chocolate croissant which was perfectly flaky and had just the right amount of chocolate; and the Honey Latte, which was the perfect blend of honey and coffee and provided a great energy boost. However, the service at the register was slow and very inattentive, having to wait for them to finish their personal conversation before they noticed I was waiting to order, with no one other customer in front or behind me. Despite the slow service, the cozy atmosphere and design of the coffee shop made for a pleasant experience. Wonderful experience - lots of staff in the building. The 2 people taking my order were quite kind - she apologized as she found the buttons saying that she was training for a new store that would be opening in North County. Let me say both her and her trainer were wonderful! That experience was similar with my drink (which did take a bit longer than usual) but the level of care and customer service at this slight inconvenience - the girl handing out the drink apologized for the wait, the baristas apologized since they had to remake it and they offered me the one they messed up on. Due to all this, I was compelled to review again. I'm glad I came back to this location - the service is phenomenal! read more

Tried to add $100 to my better buzz card. Nope. Would not take my 100 dollar bill. Weird, you have before. Sorry, the manager found out about that previous transaction and said no more. Welcome to the new world order. Cash is frowned upon. Don't they have a pen to check for counterfeit bills? Yes but our corporate office doesn't want us taking hundreds. Lmfao. Pathetic. Came in a couple of nights ago for the first time and Pedro Aiden and Giselle were amazing! Wasn't sure what to order and they were so helpful in their recommendations, ended up ordering the OG Açaí bowl and the Chai Latte with cinnamon foam and coconut milk. Awesome coffee and always amazing avocado toast. Service is always fast and accommodating but on the weekend plan to wait maybe 15 minutes for your order. I will say it's worth the wait, but they get packed on the weekend. Pistachio croissants are to die for with a mocha de mexico! read more
