I absolutely enjoy going to better health stores and I figure since I was in the Detroit area I could visit this location. This location is smaller and features a lot less mainly the hot food section is not present and it has a smaller layout. Staff here was very friendly I also really enjoyed it's clearance section which I happily took a few items off the shelves since I was going to have it right away. Store is a bit dimly lit too but what I do enjoy are the great sales they're going on in the store. Store was very quiet and there was plenty of parking available too. Overall, still a good place for casual health food shopping but it doesn't compete with the other better health stores. read more

Update: 7/16/2024 I had a VERY disturbing interaction with an employee named Carrie in this store. I guess because of my RAVING review about Ms Reneee, Carrie got her feelings in a tizzy. Well, GO STUDY MORE AND STOP SAYING, "I DON'T KNOW!" It is frustrating going into a store where a "key holder" only says I don't know. Never ONCE going to their computer to TRY to look anything up! Talking about UNHELPFUL AND LAZY! Anywho, this location gets 1 star for Carrie and the GM Josh Forrester who never bothered to return my call after speaking with Todd and Nadia. 2 stars for Ms Renee because I REFUSE to give a total over 3 stars. Because Carrie seems to be bothered by folks like me coming in and challenging her to do her job, I'll keep coming as I have been for about EIGHT YEARS! Funny how now I'm a "problem" all due to my RAVING REVIEW ON MS RENEE. Well Carrie, DO BETTER! You may have been there for the last 11 years, but your KNOWLEDGE ON STORE ITEMS AND YOUR DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VERY VERY POOR!!! You look old enough to know better. So try to do better. Im disappointed to write this review. The store started going downhill a few years ago. I visit the area once or twice a month and I stop in maybe once a month or once every other month. Its a bit pricey compared to other stores or online stores. My last few visits have been less than satisfactory. I figured it was maybe my timing. I didn't think much of my bad experiences lately because my opinion of the store was so high. In the past I've found expired food/drink items.. not just once or twice ether... Note if you are going to shop here, Check the Dates!! Also..Always save your receipt. on to why I gave 1 star.. 1 star for todays visit - came in for One item. I know the store well so I found my 1 item & was at checkout within 3-4 mins. I found a few other things on my way to the register like usual. A lady was already being helped at the register & there was another women with her daughter waiting ahead of me. They must have been there when I walked in because the woman was already expressing how long they had beed standing there to her daughter. She had several items in her hands. The person being rung up did not seem to know what she wanted to buy. She was confused & kept changing her mind about her purchases and asking several questions. She had written a check.. which WHO WRITES CHECKS?!?! WHO ACCEPTS CHECKS??! I couldn't believe this lady was writing a check. The cashier tried to explain to her the specifics on the checks they accepted & that they are strict about the policy. The women was confused about what the cashier was trying to say so she asked the total again and wrote the check for that amount Then tried to ADD another item to her purchase in the Middle of the transaction and ask more about pricing and whatnot then told the cashier no no nevermind I dont want this item anymore. At this point I have been standing in line for idk 4-5 minutes?? At that point next in line the women put down what must have been at least a $70 purchase & told her daughter come on lets go this is absolutely ridiculous!! They lost out on her sale... another customer was in line behind me at this point. The cashier tried to stay calm as the customer was still confused at this point and im sure she was confusing the employee. I had said excuse me.. can the other person open a till to ring me up? I just have a few things.. He said no because that register is broke & the other person is in the bathroom.. well when i walked in I had seen the second person on floor helping a customer.. so in the bathroom? alright..?? So Im still waiting... The customer keeps changing their mind about what they are going to buy trying to confuse the cashier. The women says she wanted to add this other item the cashier once again tells her she has already written the check for a specific amount. The cashier informs the customer shes got to write a new check for the new total. Its some kind of new check policy. The customer is upset/confused on why she cant pay the difference with cash. She then says never mind on one of the items. Now the cashier has to void something... well, hes got to have the other employees code to over ride it Also because the customer is trying to write a check so they both need to process it. He leaves the register and comes back with the other employee. The cashier apologised for my wait and I asked how much longer. The other employee opens the Other register..... to finish helping the customer to sort it all out.... the other register.. which the other employee could have been on.. the broken one..?? now there are several customers in line. At this point I have set down a few of my items for time sake Im only now going with the essentials.. As the second employee is trying to help the difficult customer they have another customer from the isles asking for help finding a product. The second cashier points twords the direction of the item. Its finally my turn!! Since the second cashier is going to sort out w/e is going on! I set my few items on the counter as the cashier rings me up. ALL OF MY PRODUCTS RING UP AT THE WRONG PRICE!!! Im like oooo um wait a sec?? I think this was listed as this price also I got this in the 50% off cart up front.. The cashier informs me that the system is very old and the Sales are not updated in the system so it is up too the CUSTOMER to tell the cashier what the price is and the sale and what percentage off..... WHAT?!?! I stood there so dumbfounded I didn't even have a response for a whoole 10 seconds!! You want ME to keep a running total?! & know the percentage off?! I told them thats a little off dont u think!? that doesn't sound right to me..?? They said yeah Its confusing trust me I know.. They leave the register to check the price on floor & come back to fix it. There is more to the story but "im over yelps text limit" point is im done w/ this place if you are going to shop here PAY Attention $$$$ read more

Customer service is poor. items marked as on sale are not, when i told them the online price they said they can not look it up. I have bought the same products there before but no points are credited to my name. Time to go somewhere else. read more

I love coming to Better Health the people are so kind there especially Wendy! She goes out of her way to help you find what you need.

I love this store! Every time I go in I'm greeted with a hello. The employees always asked if there is anything they can help me find. I buy the usual supplements but I always giggle when someone else comes in looking for this and that because Dr. Oz suggested it. The staff is great and helpful. This place is convenient and close to home for picking up health supplements like flax oil, protein powders and kombucha. I have a member card and receive coupons in the mail so if I plan according it's not too bad on the pocketbook. Last time I was in the cashier gave me suggestions on some of the different types of kombucha that she likes for my next round. read more

Super friendly staff. Not a full size store like Novi location but they have all the supplements I need. Well laid out and easy in and out.

I have posted a problem review for their Novi store, now the Livonia location has earned one as well. Would have thought I learned my lesson, but I happen to be driving by their Livonia store, was thirsty, and decided to grab a cold drink. ONCE AGAIN, there was an expired sales sign on the shelf. The iced tea I bought was labeled on sale, but rang up regular price. When I brought it to their attention, they looked it up and said the sale was from April? This was June! Obviously, the employees are poorly trained or just don't care. They didn't even offer the sale price. Very lame. Can't believe they are still in business. Place is a joke. read more

The staff was poorly trained and unfriendly. I walked in for the first time. Bought a nearly $100 worth of stuff and tried to use a 10% off coupon that I got in the mail. The tall girl at the register asked me to sign up for membership but won't allow me to use the coupon. She said you just signed up, can't use it right away. Next time when you shop here. REALLY? The coupon did not say use it the next time nor membership rule stated such thing. Stupid woman. I went ahead make the purchase, but would never go back there again. Poor business!! read more

the new manager Edward is amazing and I honestly asked him why he is even there and not working as a physician or somewhere else in the health and nutrition field. He is extremely knowledgeable and figured out something for me that no other person has including my Doctor and myself being a RN. The store looks great and even though the store items are sometimes in short supply he is always on top of getting more fast. Thank you better health for finding a person that actually has Knowledge. I love this store...HEATHER is the best ever. She will help you find anything you need for "whatever" you need it for. Trust me she has a answer for you. Don't get me wrong everyone in the store are excellent as well. However I can call to the store for heather, she will always take her time no matter how long it takes to help me with any questions I may have. Kudos to the Better health store!!!! read more
