I visited a different Fresh Thyme location years ago and wasn't a fan. I didn't think the stuff they offered was special (particularly the quality of their products) and had issues with their customer service. But I gave this one a chance and I think it was a nice visit. I personally prefer Westborn and Busch's, as this place doesn't really stand out for me as far as what they offer. I still don't see what the hype is about, but I did like the produce I bought and I got a good deal on some wild caught salmon. Prices are on the higher end, but that's to be expected. read more

I recently stopped here while I was in the area to grab a few things. This place was absolutely great and I enjoyed that it had a familiar layout like most Fresh Thyme stores do. Easy to access and it's close to the highways too. Great specials too. Staff here was friendly and helpful throughout my visit and it had a great selection of items on clearance. read more

In 2025 I'm committing to doing as much shopping local as I can. Now, I've always strived to do that as much as possible but now I'm talking trying to avoid big box stores wherever possible. So, here's the thing. This is actually kind of tough for grocery. Yes, there are some great local grocery options but most are either too expensive to shop at weekly, too specialized/not varied enough, or they're too far from me. Luckily Fresh Thyme has emerged as a pretty solid option on all three fronts. Now before anyone gets all "ACTUALLY, ANNETTE...." I know Fresh Thyme is a larger multi-location chain. BUT it's Michigan based (owned by Meijer, which is also a big chain but local to MI so the best of all options and where I aim to do the rest of my shopping) plus they carry so many great local MI made brands. Some things can be on the pricier side, and they're not huge, but I recently did a big shopping haul here and walked out with pretty much everything we need for the next couple of weeks. They also have a good variety of options if you have specific dietary needs or are looking to go a bit healthier. And they're cheaper than some of the other shops that carry those items. They also have a HUGE vitamin/supplements aisle, and I picked up a few things for myself. My mom, who shops at FT regularly, says they also regularly have sales on this section so keep an eye out. This particular location is not the closest to me but it's nearby my aunt's so it's easy to pop in when I'm over there hanging out. The location is clean, fully stocked, and their prepared foods are also quite good and varied. I particularly like their rotisserie chicken. Produce is fresh and they have quite an impressive bulk foods section as well. I'm paying a bit more than I would at my previous grocery store but not by much and I'm happy my dollars stay in the state. Whoo hoo! read more

The store is well stocked. I like the bulk foods section - nice variety. I also like their fresh milled oatmeal, nut butters (peanut, etc.), and honey. You can find a little of everything but it is on the pricey side. Sometimes there *are* deals. I used the self service lane so I didn't have to interact with anyone. read more

Really poor experience at the store I frequent often. Definitely will think twice before shopping here due to poor interaction with staff.

People at the service counter are typically absent and rude or act lobotomized when you finally do get their attention. They act like they are too busy to help, but it doesn't make sense when the store is never busy and they never seem to be doing much more than hiding in the back on their Phones. On one of my last visits I took my mom to the store and the short blonde brown haired lady behind the deli was rude to my mother during our visit. I believe her name was Tami. I could be wrong because I could barely see her over the counter. This used to be my go to store but the service in general has gone down since Covid and they always seem to be out of stock on the items you need. Their prices have gone up and up and up to the point where it doesn't make sense to shop there unless they advertise a great deal. My family and I have now switched to shopping at Busch's across the street which is about the same price point but they have friendly staff. read more

One of my favorite grocery stores. The produce is fresh and wonderfully displayed. I can quickly find organic and natural fruits and veggies. The fresh squeezed orange juice is one of the main reasons I shop here. It is hard to find real deal OJ and Fresh Thyme has you covered. Surprisingly, FT has a decent wine selection. There is a wide variety of both domestic and international wines. The prices are competitive to other stores that sell similar wine. I shop here two to three times a month. The employees are friendly and the store is cleaner than Kroger and Meijer. read more

I am writing a review for fresh thyme. I usually go to the one in farmington but I checked out the one in northville. It was a nice friendly place. Good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Huge selection of vitamins and supplements and good new and upcoming selection of specialty drinks like kombucha amomg others. They also have classes and cooking tutorials which is great for the community. Recently they got bought out by Meijers so now they have big pharma like brands instead of complete whole foods and naturaopathic things which is a bummer but hey corporate greed is a thing right. Overall people are friendly and service is overall nice as well. 90/100 read more

To me, Fresh Thyme is the love child of Kroger and Zerbos. They have all the deli, meat and groceries you want, plus tons of fresh produce, a large special diet/lifestyle (vegan, organic, etc) selection, and a decent natural herb/oil/medicine section. Most of our purchases have been hits, including their greens, their fresh made chicken sausage, and Ken is a fan of the bar soaps near the registers. Didn't expect to find a farmers market near Novi Detroit and turned out to be an awesome store! The gluten-free selection is A+ and had many local bakeries and pies and bread! Gluten-Free Oh My! Fresh Thyme Market was legit and a great way for me to explore the local produce,export,import of this region. I got some elite dairy raspberry lemonade and fruit juice and mixed it with some vodka was excellent. The parking was easy and the store was fresh, organic, and clean. This is the best grocery store for several reasons. First of all, the staff is amazing. They remember you; there is good conversation at the registers. Second, the selection is healthier than other larger chains like Busch's and Kroger. Fewer processed foods and such. Meat seems to be fresher than the larger stores. Third, there are great deals on Wednesdays: Deals from the previous week are still happening, and deals for the following week begin. Fourth, the sandwich and pizza counter is on-point. Custom 12" pizzas for $8.99 are a solid deal; 8" for $4.99. Fifth, there is a great selection of mixed nuts, lentils, rices, candies, sundries, etc. I cannot say enough good things about this store. Clean, good staff, good deals, good produce. I will continue to frequent Fresh Thyme for years to come. read more

Who would expect to park across the street to go into a grocery store on their opening day! I didn't realize grand openings for a grocery store would be such a popular event! Im sure parking will be much better after the opening hour of their grand opening extravaganza! I really took comfort in the general theme of the store, it made me feel like I was at an old fashioned market with competitive prices. The store is vibrant with color and the environment is pretty close to their newspaper ad. Good marketing guys. The store was clean and organized even when over 250 guests already came in on opening day. They have fresh produce, deli meats, flowers, fresh herbs and so many varieties of organic food. The prices are very reasonable and their sale items are pretty darn cheap! I'm not sure if I would go back due to the distance because it's very comparable to a cheaper Buschs. However their prices very good and I might stop by again if I'm near the area. :) read more

I bought a premade sandwich from this location and it was made using the butt ends of the bread.

Sick of getting a judgmental look when I respond to the question, "Plastic or paper?" with an "I don't care". Sick of waiting in line because someone feels like chatting to the customer instead of speeding the long line along. Also very unhappy that my credit card was charged TWICE for a single transaction. I had high hopes when this place moved in, but it's just a disappointment. Extremely slow service at any counter. A third of the store is taken up by weird bulk food bins (I can't imagine Northville shoppers have hippie communes that need to restock), and another third is a bunch of odd items like what you might find at Trader Joe's, except for several times the price. The one redeeming thing might have been if I could run in and grab a couple things after work, but every time I've been here between 5-7 pm, there are only one or two checkout lanes open, each with a line of 5 or 6 carts. Not worth it. It's clean, and looks nice, and the quality seems ok, but that's about it. There's no reason to go here rather than Busch's across the street. The sooner this place goes out of business so something worthwhile can move in, the better. read more

Literally ran in to get some milk, juice and water. Made the mistake of thinking I could get some cheese sliced. The attendant with the glasses needs A NEW JOB. RUDE, obnoxiously so. I actually walked away because it wasn't just once or twice it was 3 times. Horrible store. I've been here before and all my "fresh" produce rotten is within 3 days or less. This confirms: NEVER GO THERE. KROGER IS BETTER. THAT'S SAYING A LOT. She needs to be fired or you'll lose more business. Convenient and friendly staff...I'm a Kroger girl but this place is good for a quick trip

Between the new Kroger in downtown Northville and Fresh Thyme up the road, this is where you can find me picking up stuff for dinner. This store is very reasonably priced, everything considered. Many people have likened it to a Whole Foods, which is true if you keep in mind that it would be a very watered-down version. The selection is much smaller, though you can find A LOT of options for 'specialty diets'. If you're vegetarian, vegan, gluten free or prefer to eat organic - this is the place to be. The produce section here is amazing, they have so many fresh fruits and veggies. I also love the snack aisle (duh), where you can find such gems as sriracha flavored baked lentil chips. Another favorite section is the tea department. They have a wide variety of "Traditional Medicinals" teas, which makes this person whom grew up with a homeopathic & natural medicine loving mother, very happy. The main reason I come here several times a week is for their pre-made salads. My husband is slightly obsessed with the Market Salad which has dried cherries, seeds, spinach, balsamic vinaigrette and blue cheese. Blue cheese will literally make me loose it so I don't know what it's like, but he'd eat this salad all day every day if I'd let him. I like the spinach salad with strawberries, feta and onion with the same balsamic vinaigrette. For $4.99 and $3.99, these are very easy and cheap lunches or (sometimes) dinners. I can't even finish the salad since the portions are rather large. read more

I have been here several times and have a love/hate relationship with this store. It is leaning towards a breakup. They have a decent selection of produce but several times I have had apples and potatoes go bad within a week. I like the bulk bins and fresh honey peanut butter and if it weren't for these items I would probably take this store out of rotation. My last straw is with the cashiers. 80% of the time they have extreme attitudes that leave a guest uncomfortable. This morning I asked how she was doing and got a "fine...I guess" with an eye roll. I was talking to the gentlemen behind me about a product and used the phrase "I decided today was the day to pull the trigger and try these chips" and the cashier scolded me. Seriously? My friend and I exit the store every time and make a comment about how nasty they are. I'd rather go to TJ's where they are friendly and I leave with a smile and not insulted. read more

I was hoping for a Joe's Produce, and instead I found a Randazzo's with much less selection and higher prices. I was looking forward to this store's opening, due to a flyer that said they had fresh locally sourced produce. I was disappointed. Their Michigan produce was some lettuce and that was just about it. No Michigan corn, no Michigan cherries. There was a big bucket of dried cherries which were not Michigan sourced. I can get Michigan dried cherries at Sam's Club. I can get fresh MIchigan cherries right now from Costco. I can get fresh Michigan corn at farm stands. But not at "Fresh Thyme", not yet. I see on their website that they are encouraging their shopping bags, but there was plastic out the ying-yang at this place, people carrying lots of plastic bags out of there. Why no paper? I took my own bag in, luckily...I didn't see any of their own shopping bags. :-( Do they know that Busch's is across the street? There was nothing here to draw me back! They didn't carry my favorite wine, which I used to get at Hiller's (the new Kroger's doesn't carry it). They didn't have anything interesting or unusual in the realm of fresh produce. The aisles were blocked with displays and because of an extraordinarily large crowd, you couldn't navigate the aisles well at all. They have many many bins of bulk items. Been there, done that many years ago. I suppose if I needed some red lentils and didn't want a lifetime supply, I could get a few here. Meh. I do my own baking, so that section didn't interest me much. I might come back to check out the meat section more closely - I didn't get a very good look because I was more interested in the produce. I half-jokingly proclaim that cooking is a hobby for me. I eat out often so cooking is relegated to a few evenings at home, and of course, during the weekend. Despite that, I tend to be picky about my grocery stores as they are infinitely interesting for me. On vacation, I always make a point to visit a grocery store to get a sense of what that marketplace cares about. In any given week, I might make 4-5 grocery trips. Trader Joe's, Cantoro's, Busch's, and Hiller's are all part of my rotation, with each one a destination for very specific items. With the opening of Fresh Thyme, a natural and organic grocery store with the farm-fresh theme, I think I found a place to replace a few trips. On opening week, the parking lot was packed. Inside, the store had many interesting departments. * Deli sandwich counter for fresh sandwiches. The already-prepared muffalettas looked yummy. The Cuban (baked in 90 seconds) with ham, pulled pork, and pickles was yummy. * Make-your-own pizza counter. Samples of the hot pepperoni pizza were quickly snatched up. * Juice bar where freshly-squeezed juice was available. Several samples were set out and I walked off with the fresh orange juice that reminded me of childhood. * Ready-to-cook meals such as pizza and fresh pasta as well as ready-to-eat meals such as mac and cheese, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, etc. * Small cheese island that contained some of my favorites. * Honey and olive oil dispensing stations that I would have tried if my pantry was not already filled with both. * Meat counter that is about one-third the size of that at Hiller's but I found the meat to be a bit less expensive. As well, it offers game such as antelope, elk, and buffalo. I could not locate duck or geese, though, but I know that I missed a lot on this visit. * Fish-counter in the adjoining area that featured large fish filets and steaks. * Vitamin area that took up a large corner. * Small eating area to devour your finds. In all, I liked the innovation that I am seeing in this store. I think it will continue to be successful, beyond opening week, because it addresses trends in how we now like to eat and live. I think there could be improvements in the butcher section for those of us accustomed to the wide variety at Hiller's. As well, I was a bit disappointed by the baked goods offered, even though I did score some herb, parmesan biscuits. Throughout the store, samples were being offered. Service was friendly throughout. When I spoke to the cheese monger, she asked how she could add to the current selection. And the cashier was incredibly friendly and helpful. I am happy to have found a solid replacement for Hiller's, although I will still miss the store and all the great people that worked there. read more

I have been looking for organic produce for my kid. For me kroger and fresh thyme are convenient. Set up of the store looks like Trader Joe I mostly shop for organic, non-gmo produce, organic milk. I initially started shopping in whole foods for organic items, then I switched to Fresh Thyme. It is less than in whole foods. Other thing i like is the selection of nuts, candies etc. There is a lot of options in the snack isle which i like it. There is always selection for homeopathy/ natural medicines which I didn't usually visit. But it also good with lot of stuff there. You can get pizza there. I tried that and it was very good. Ordered (8" for 4.99) when i entered the store and collected it before checkout. I had veggie pizza and added 5 toppings. Looks like a good option if I feel hungry , i can get one and save another stop read more

When this store first opened I would have easily given this store 5 stars. Each year since then the products and staff have gotten worse to the point where I am done with this store. The produce either goes bad very quickly or is already bad when you check your products at home. There have been several times where I got home to find a moldy grapefruit in my bag, a few rotten strawberries in the packages and so on. I learned to check each product thoroughly even if I was in a hurry. However, the last few months nothing compares to how rude and incompetent the workers are. The man at the seafood counter gave me the wrong product when I specifically asked for the one that was on sale. He gave me the full priced ones. Of course I didn't realize this until I got home and checked my receipt. The next issue was a few weeks ago when I was checking out. The cashier was Christopher and he didn't give me one of my bags. Again, I didn't notice this until I got home and was beyond furious at that point. What made it worse was there was nobody behind me in line, so there was no hurry and was just another employee that is forcing me to take my business back to Busch's and Trader Joe's. read more

This has filled a gap for me. A couple times a week if I want to make a fast meal I can run in here instead of dealing with a huge store and get all I need. Prices are good, sale prices are usually very good. Always have at least one good seafood and meat product on sale every week. For 5 dollars you can order a small thin crust pizza with any items you want on it. read more

I consider Fresh Thyme to be similar to a gourmet grocery store, without the high prices. I give this place 5 stars for a number of reasons: 1) You get EXCELLENT quality produce, especially organic, for some of the lowest prices. The organic food here is the best, hands down. They offer an extensive selection and the prices are often much more affordable than prices at Trader Joe's. Not to mention, the non organic produce is also incredibly affordable and just as wonderful. To give you an idea of prices, you can often get 5 limes for $1, 3 kiwis for $1, kale and other cruciferous veggies are often $0.99 a bunch. I eat mostly a plant-based diet, so this place allows me to get everything I need and eat very well without spending so much $$$. 2. They carry some of the best brands of baked goods. I come here to get a special brand of fresh sprouted bread and vegan flatbreads, which I can't find in many other places. 3. I love their sales/specials. Every week, they have major discounts on produce and a variety of their products. The discounts are actually pretty big and you can save a lot of money. 4. You can buy a few things in bulk from here, particularly dried fruit and certain baking supplies. The bulk items are also very affordable and since I am just one person, I don't have to worry about buying too much of certain things or wasting food. 5. For around $3, you can get a personal pizza (8 inches ?) customized and made for you while you shop. It makes for a quick and delicious dinner to-go...Not to mention super affordable! You can put any topping you would like on the pizza without extra charge. It is really a great deal. read more
