Alexei was polite and professional. He had my cooker repaired in about 30 minutes. I needed a new gas line as one of the knobs had broken. After the repair, he used a machine to detect gas leaks, and was able to tell me that (unfortunately) the gas valve behind my cooker had a slow seep to it. read more

I had issues with a fridge that didn't seem to cool down enough. I contacted Alexey in the morning and he came over in the afternoon. He checked everything very thoroughly and found nothing wrong with the fridge but showed me how to ensure it would cool well. I also asked Alexey to look at my dryer to check for what could be wrong but it worked well at the time. Alexey was very prompt, polite and professional. After submitting my quote request for a dryer repair, Alexey was one of the first to respond, and he let very little time go by when responding to all of my questions. He even offered to come out the same day. He quickly diagnosed the problem -- and even alerted me to an issue with my washer hose -- and checked with me before ordering the parts, which allowed us to make a decision without any pressure. He's incredibly friendly, takes the time to explain the work and makes sure you understand the issue, and does not try to sell you on unneeded repairs. I accidentally set my new cooktop on fire and there was a lot of melted plastic! I was pretty sure I was going to have to purchase a whole new cooktop. Alexey surveyed the damage and confidently told me that he could clean it up. No need to buy a new cooktop. And he very successfullly did clean up the damage and even installed a new burner for me. Alexey saved me more than $1,500 by remediating the damage I caused, and he did so with such a cheerful attitude and a very professional approach. We initially chose to go with Better Repairs because the cost of providing an estimate was far less than competitors and his reviews were great. We definitely feel that we made the right decision. Alexy was communicative, friendly, punctual, and honest. Alexy was incredibly transparent with troubleshooting our issue and providing pricing. He quickly assessed and diagnosed the issue and kept us updated along the way. He replaced a couple of parts in our dryer and he already had them on hand in his truck so he was able to complete the job within a couple hours. He also provided additional maintenance during his repair including greasing and getting rid of lint buildup throughout the unit. As a bonus, he was also great with our dog! Alexey of Better Repairs responded to my Yelp-help call (I let Yelp connect me with companies that could help me with my 25+ year-old Thermador oven) within minutes, and when I responded with questions he was immediately very clearly the qualified person I needed! My double oven was not working after I'd accidentally gotten food on the heating element of one oven (did you know beans can explode when they get hot? I had forgotten!), and I didn't even know why the other one wasn't turning on. He was able to get to me very quickly, less than 24 hours from our first contact. When he arrived, he was able to diagnose and explain things so that I understood the issues, and then he asked about the "health" of other appliances and gave them checkups too. A freezer, also as old as the house, clearly needed its "guts" cleaned professionally to work more efficiently again. He sent a quote for parts and labor the same day, and was back as soon as parts were in to fix the ovens and steam clean the freezer gills. He and his apprentice took care to protect the floors while they took the ovens out, and showed me what they were doing. They even reinstalled the ovens more securely than they'd been when they arrived. Five stars, will hire again, would recommend to a friend for sure! read more
