Chris M came out the same day I called the company (other companies were at least 3 days out booking and most would not deal with Bosch). Chris was able to make a good diagnosis that turned out to be correct (freeze build up inside the fan housing between freezer and fridge that was not visible even though I looked at the evap coils myself). November 4, I scheduled a service appointment with Factor Appliance Repair company. When the technicians arrived, the refrigerator was already functioning, as I had been able to turn the control panel on myself using AI help, prior to their visit. During the appointment, the technicians pointed out leaking valve and offered a temporary fix, since the permanat couls would have been $500, which I agreed to. He ied tape and left. However, two days later, I noticed water leaking from the front dispenser area--a feature I have not used for several years. When I called to address this issue, I asked why the water had not been turned off instead of simply taping the valve, since I pointed out that I do not use that feature. Today, when they came again, they told me that the real problem is now the control panel, which wasn't brought to my attention before, since it was working. It appears that the temporary fix may have caused further damage, and I am now facing an unexpected and costly repair. Chris was very knowledgeable about how to diagnose the issue but had a problem locating the model number for the oven and said if he can't find it he wouldn't be able to work on it if there was a problem. He was also able to tell me that I needed a new ice maker within the same service call without an extra fee. Our freezer (Frigidaire) had been leaking from the bottom drawer for a good month before we finally decided to do something about it. We were quoted a fairly reasonable amount for the needed work before he began. I worked with Factor Appliances twice in 2021. First, I had a broken dishwasher. I'd completed a lot of troubleshooting myself before calling an expert. Before coming out, the dishwasher specialist, Tyrone, talked through my troubleshooting on the phone. He made (I believe) a very accurate assessment of what was wrong with the appliance and provided a quote to the best of his knowledge over the phone. It made more sense to replace the dishwasher rather than pay for a service call. I was incredibly impressed with the time that Tyrone put into diagnosing my problem without charging for the service call. I called Factor Appliance again for an unrelated problem with my fridge a few weeks later. The service was timely, professional, and fairly priced. I wish I remembered my technicians name for the fridge, but Tyrone really went above and beyond in helping me with the dishwasher. I'll definitely use this company again. read more

He was terrific and he absolutely earns these five stars! This is my 2nd visit with Factor Appliance, the first in 2017, and today's visit was as good as the first. I called at 7:45am, Virginia had me scheduled for a 9:30am service call, Godfrey knocked at my door at 8:45am - quick analysis of my 10-year-old GE refrigerator, quick pick up of the mother board needed, quick installation, my fridge was back in business before 10am the same morning! No loss of the groceries purchased the day before, no melted ice, no clean-up. Now here's the little thing that is a big thing for me - Godfrey returned later to install new gaskets in the fridge doors and he actually asked for a towel he could use, as opposed to the plumber last year who helped himself to a brand new white towel I had in the kitchen that was ruined after the plumber's clean-up... I DO NOT RECOMMEND FACTOR APPLIANCE I contacted Factor Appliances a week prior to service date (service date:11/20/17). I read the reviews which some seemed repetitive of how a wonderful job they do. I didn't think twice to call and schedule an appointment. The next appointment date was in 6 days. I honestly can't live without a washer and dryer. I decided to wait. When I called I explained to the scheduling department the problem I was having (dryer not heating). I mentioned to her I recently received service from Airwiz (duct cleaning for my dryer) I explained they did a great job cleaning the duct, but the dryer was still not heating possibly because of the sensor heating element. I explained the dryer is on top of the washer. I explained to her in detailed that my dryer is on top of the washer but are not connected to each other; separate outlets and no wires attaching one another. I provided the model number. Today, 11/20/17, I took 1/2 a day of work to be present during service. I was running a little late for my appointment but I made arrangements for an adult to be present at the home. As I am getting home, I get a call stating they will NOT be looking at my dryer because it is stacked on top of my washer. I explained the inconvenience of me waiting 6 days for their service. I explained to Jose that NO ONE explained to me that my dryer could not be on top of of my washer, as it is separate machines not connected to each other. NO ONE explained to me that the dryer must be on the floor to receive services. I decided to quickly problem solve and explained to Jose I can have someone bring the dryer to the floor right away. Jose refused to provide service and stated I would have to reschedule even if I put the dryer on the floor. I am very disappointment for the service I received. It was inconvenient, unreliable, lack of professionalism, and poor customer service. Factor Appliance is a Fraudulent Company! Beware! We first called Factor Appliance in Rockville last October 2021 and it is 11 months later, and our oven is still not fixed, and they stole $799.00 from us. On October 28, 2021, we set up an appointment by calling the number on the Factor Appliance website and they sent out Tyrone Stott. He determined that our oven needed a new control board. We paid the invoice sent from Factor Appliance for $799.00 and they cashed our check the same day. After months of shipping delays and two malfunctioning new control panels, finally the third control panel arrived. From this point on Tyrone Stott canceled every appointment we had set up- due to his truck breaking down, multiple deaths in his family, several bouts with COVID, the list goes on. He was finally supposed to come 11 months from our original appointment and then he never appeared, won't respond to texts or voice mails. We called Factor Appliance to figure out what to do and now they say that he is an independent contractor, so they have nothing to do with him- though they sent him to us, the check was made out to Factor Appliance, the check was cashed. read more

Just over 3 months ago, our built in (Monogram) refrigerator stopped working, probably a google search found Factor Appliance, and in fairly short order, their repairman came out and did fix the refrigerator. But, the fridge is about 22 years old, and just over 3 months later, the refrigerator stopped working again. We called them again, the same defrost timer needed to be replaced, and even though it was just outside the warranty period, they did the repair, the refrigerator is working again, and there was no charge for the second visit. DO NOT work with Tyrone! I would have given this review ZERO stars except that Jose and his son, Chris of Factor Appliance ultimately saved the day and got the work done for me. Thank you Guys! Tyron is untrustworthy, unreliable and unresponsive. He took my money, never did the job and after offering a refund after dicking me around for over two months, I STILL don't have my money (it's been 7 weeks now). While he comes across as respectful and honest, he continues to force me to chase him down at every turn. Facts: 3/24/22 he came and diagnosed a broken door seal, was nice and personable, charged me $80 for the service call and told me I had to pay up front for the part and that he would come back when the part arrived (7-14 days). I paid an additional $373.24 via Square on my AmEx and never heard from him again until I had to follow up with him on April 11. Tyrone responded and indicated to me that he was on vacation and that he would check on the part. I did not hear back from him so I contacted him again a week later on April 18 to try and schedule the work. He said he would call me to schedule but he did not. After more follow up, I finally got him to commit to doing the work on April 22 and I made arrangements to miss work to meet him. I never heard from him until I followed up again to reconfirm the appointment and that very morning he said he had to reschedule for personal reasons. We rescheduled for April 25 (I made arrangements again to miss work) and again that morning he said he had to reschedule for personal reasons. I was as supportive and respectful and as kind as I could possibly be regarding the personal reason (but was starting to become concerned, PLUS I'd been without a washer for over a month). After more back and forth, he offered me a refund and I accepted and had the work completed by another. Incidentally, Tyrone MISDIAGNOSED the entire problem and the part I paid for wasn't needed. He also BROKE a part on my washer during the assessment process and removed screws and couldn't get one back in place so left it on the floor. He claims he submitted the refund on 4/26 and I waited for it to show up on my AmEX. I followed up on 5/3 and he said the refund was just processed (sent me a screenshot of the request from that morning). And I waited some more. I followed up again on 5/17 and he said he'd check on it. I had also just submitted a dispute claim with my credit card company. On 5/19 he texted "I received a dispute regarding the charge for your washer repair. I looked into this and found that we attempted to refund you on May 3 but for some reason it failed. We want to get our credit to you as soon as possible. Filing a dispute adds another 7-10 days to the process". On 5/20 he asked me to cancel my dispute "As soon as we get notification that the dispute is canceled, then your refund will process". I called AmEx to make sure this was a legitimate suggestion, then cancelled the dispute. I sent him a copy of the letter from AmEx indicating the dispute was closed and asked to please process the refund. He said, "I will make sure the refund is released when I return to work on Monday". I followed up that Monday, 5/23 to make sure he processed the refund and he said, "Yes it was." And I waited again! On Friday, 6/3/22 I followed up again: "Dear Tyrone, I wanted to let you know that I STILL have not received the refund you originally promised on April 25, then again on May 3 and again on May 23. Each time I have continued to give my credit card company ample time to receive your credit and each time it has failed. Just a heads up that if I do not receive my refund by June 6, I will be filing another dispute claim. I would appreciate you getting this sorted out today. You can PayPal the money back to me if that's easier ($374.23)." He called me immediately and apologized, then asked for a Venmo contact so he could pay me back. I NEVER heard from him after that. I reopened my dispute claim, I don't recommend hiring Tyrone. read more
