The technician "diagnosed" a broken pump. He quoted $450.00 to replace the pump and to reinstall the dishwasher. I paid half his quote up front.6 He returned with the new pump. He disassembled and discounted the machine. He then discovered a further problem and Increased the repair cost by $500.00. He refused to provide a written estimate of parts and launched a confusing explanation where he constantly changed numbers. He would not provide the part numbers he required and he used part names that I could not find on the Bosch website. He left the dishwasher disassembled and disconnected from the kitchen sink drain. When I was finally able to identify the parts to which he referred, I found their costs about half what he stated. Terrible experience, highly recommend avoiding. He was very rude and tough to communicate with, and caused more problems than he solved. Our dryer was smoking, and he did come quickly and diagnose the issue, although the fix he quoted us seemed very expensive (almost enough that a new dryer would be worth it). But, after he "fixed" our dryer, we used it once and then it started making a very loud noise. He came out to look at it again, and "fixed" the noise, but a couple months later the noise was back. At that point he said it was "out of warranty", so we had to get a separate company to come fix it. Turns out, the parts were just not installed correctly, causing this noise. This cost us hundreds of extra dollars and a ton of time, simply with his shoddy work. Combine that with being very difficult to work with (he was apparently very rude to my wife), I would not recommend Blue Shield at all. read more

Not only did he respond quickly, but he also came out on Sunday to assess what was needed to get my dishwasher up and running again. However, to identify the source of the problem, a leaking dishwater, I found the technician quite clueless and more than happy to say nothing is wrong (which it was and duly fixed by another technician). They make it sound like they will handle a repair quickly and for a reasonable cost, but when they arrive it turns out that fee is just for the estimate (I have no problem with charging an estimate fee, but it should be transparent). They then tell you it will be a "costly repair," quoting a high price (e.g.,$500-$600), with a replacement parts alone costing ~$240. After recovering from the sticker shock, we found that we could order the replacement parts directly from LG for more than $100 less than what we were quoted.
