We have used this company for a couple of years to clean our vents. We have four kids and animals so we generate a lot dryer usage. They have always been great to work with. Friendly, great communication, and excellent workmanship. Today they came out and while cleaning the external vent on the room noticed a couple of my roof shingles had come loose. Rather than me calling a roofer, the gentleman went up there and fixed the shingles at no extra charge. That is going beyond basic service and ultimately saved me money in the long run. We called up this company when we moved to a new house and found that our brand new dryer was taking 2.5 hours on high heat to dry a small load of laundry! They came out and found the source of the problem - The wrong vent cover had been installed on the outside of our house. David, our technician, was prompt, professional and courteous. He did a great job of installing the new vent cover, and vacuuming out the backlog of lint, and our drying times were down to 20-30 mins on low heat in no time. As good as the last time. David cleaned our vent this time around, and didn't see any issues beyond the fact that we have an improper roof vent (which we'll have switched out when we get a new roof). The extra charge for the booster fan is still the same as it was three years ago, and the service is as thorough and comprehensive as ever. BTW, if you have a long run for your dryer vent, seriously consider investing in a booster fan. It makes ALL the difference in the world in both drying times and easier clean outs. read more

He was a nice guy, who showed up as promised, cleaned out our dryer vent and also had a vacuum attachment to clean out the fuzz which had fallen down low in our dryer slot below the screen. James came out last week to clean my dryer vent (1-story home, vent goes up through the attic to the roof with a bend in the middle. I called him because my dryer had started taking 2 and sometimes even 3 cycles to dry clothes. He promptly came out (3 days later, but there was a weekend involved. It took him about 30-45 minutes to get everything cleaned out but he seemed to do a very thorough job. The best part is that the first load I ran after he left took 30 minutes to dry instead of 1.5 hours or more! I'm very happy with the service and did let him upsell me on a new vent from the dyer to connect to the house - my old one needing replacement anyway so I had just assumed he do it than me trek to a Home place to buy and install one. I would certainly use him again, although let's hope it's not for quite a while! read more

Just moved into an 8 year old house. I could tell the vents weren't working properly so we wanted to get them cleaned. They came out and were fast, personable and efficient. When checking the vent in the back the contractor noticed a screw sticking out of our gate (the previous owners tried to fix the handle but left 2 inches exposed!). He mentioned the hazard to me and asked if he could fix it. He removed the screw and re-did it. The screw was still too long so he cut the end off. He didn't even charge me for that. I had a unique dryer vent that went underneath my garage, I hired a different company at first (that do dozens of different services) and they failed to get the brush through and unclog the vent. All they did was blow a leaf-blower through it and charged me $80 and my clothes still wouldn't dry under 2 hours. The air flow was still terrible. So I hired Better Dryer Vent Cleaning. They were a little more expensive but you receive top quality. These guys know their stuff. They are licensed and know the city codes. Had no issue getting a brush though both ways and completely unclogged my vent!! My dryer works SO MUCH BETTER!! This company only specializes in this specific service and they are the masters. I have been so impressed with this company. I called in a panic when a company we hired to clean our air ducts canceled last minute and James was so honest and told me that most of the time, ducts don't necessarily require cleaning. He offered to come out and look, on a weekend, so he would be able to tell me if a cleaning was appropriate before we move into the house. After looking at the vents, he told me he felt another option would be more appropriate and scheduled me for just two days later. I so appreciated his honesty because he could have just come and charged me $1500 for the cleaning and I wouldn't have known any better. He came out today and installed a purifier for the HVAC, which was less expensive than what I originally called him for, and while up there, also identified an issue with our furnace that our home inspector didn't catch, but which an electrician was able to fix immediately. After months of frustration with clothes that came out of the dryer progressively more damp and numerous frustrated calls with our dryer manufacturer and Best Buy, we called Better Dryer Vent Cleaning. I spoke with James and knew immediately I was on the phone with an expert. He diagnosed the problem in no time and we scheduled an appointment for the next day to make sure his "99.9% certain" hypothesis - that our dryer vent on our brand new house was already clogged because the person that installed it hadn't removed the screen - was, in fact, true. Tuesday morning James and his coworker showed up at the house on time and with all the equipment that we could possibly need. They were courteous and professional. They looked around the outside of the house, then went to the machine, and then in the attic. They quickly ascertained that our rooftop vent was not only clogged, but the wrong vent entirely, and a violation of code. They thoroughly explained the issue, showed me the difference between the types of vents using the proper vent that would eventually be installed on my roof, and went over the price difference between the original estimate and the cost to replace the vent with the correct model. I decided to bite the bullet and asked them to install the proper vent. The replacement took all of an hour. After they were finished they showed me the clogged vent they had removed - it was evident they'd been right about the clog and the screen all along. The cost for everything, including a well-deserved tip, was less than $1,000. They provided me with a receipt, pictures of the old vent, the new installed vent, and the tubes leading into the house, plus a document with the specific code violation circled so that I could submit these for reimbursement to the homebuilder. I called on Tuesday morning and spoke with James, he was able to send out David the same afternoon to check out our vent. We had just had an appliance tech out to look at the dryer but it turned out the vent was clogged so they told us to get it cleaned. I first called another company to clean our dryer vent, but they showed up and said the price would be 5x what had been quoted me on the phone, so I sent them away. On a friend's recommendation I called Better Service Company. From start to finish it was a first rate experience. They were easy to schedule with, understood the work, and when I asked if the price could go higher depending on what the condition of the dryer vent they were firm: the price is the price. They showed up on time, were professional, courteous, and got the job done. During that work they spotted some problems with the venting system that were not up to code, which I passed along to the landlord. Better Service Co. spent some time on the phone explaining in detail what they were seeing, sent photos, and sent a quote. So glad I found ATX Dryer Vent! We just purchased our home and the dryer was taking 3 cycles (2 too many) to dry so much as a pair of pants and a shirt. Fantastic company! When my dryer decided to stop drying I started researching dryer repair places. In the process, I read how you're supposed to clean out your dryer vent every year or two. I bought my house in 2008 and hadn't cleaned it out even once! It was a rental property for 25 years before that, so who knows how many lost socks were sucked up in that pipe. I called to make an appointment and was given what I consider to be a prime appt time: 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on a Saturday! I didn't have to take time off from work or even set my alarm to get up early. Wonderful. David called about 20 minutes before he arrived. He got right to work, sucked out a blanket or two of lint, and tidied up the place before he left. Plus, he guessed correctly that the lint backed up in my roof vent had caused the heating element in my dryer to burn out. He was exactly right. My dryer is drying again, at a much faster rate, and all is right with the world. James originally came out during the spring and helped clear the dryer vent of a small family of birds.
