My cat started it all! Obie is 17+ years old and has never had allergies - until this year. Eran arrived on time and before he even came to the door, he'd already assessed the vent to the outside on the roof, and knew what he was dealing with. He came in and pulled the vent hose off the dryer and wall and removed a large clump of lint that was just sitting at the bottom of the vent tube. He then got on the roof and removed the vent grate the roofers left on, and came inside and blew out the lint obstructions to clear the vent all the way out of the roof. Eran was professional, knowledgeable and pleasant to speak with; he knows a good bit about dryers too! I am new to being a homeowner and called Texas Green Air after reading on Consumer Reports that the dryer vent should be cleaned out once per year. Eran showed up on time and got to work right away. The initial quote I got from a very good and more well known HVAC company was double TGA's quote. Eran was extremely thorough, and spent a good amount of time not just cleaning the A/C ducts, but also the dirt and debris that fell from where he was cleaning. You can't expect every person providing a service to be thorough, but this guy's just that --- and thoughtful! He even helped me take before and after pictures (that, if I could figure out how to post here I will). The crud he picked off from these vents was astounding! At the end of the service, he offered --- and we paid --- for this extra service for a treatmend that "cycles" a vapor agent through the A/C system(s) that kills off any bacteria or microorganism not taken care of by the duct cleaning. I would highly recommend this if you aren't too particular about a hospital smell in your home for about 2-3 hours. After that the smell dissipates. However, it's good to know that you have something extra for any portions of the ducts that may not be reachable by the cleaning tubes. We called the week before due to severe allergies that were bugging my wife and I for sometime now (previous tenants were cat owners, and it didn't look like the system was cleaned for a while... if at all). After the service, we were free and clear. And the air is crisp --- almost as if you were breathing in ionized air. That, as opposed to the stuffy air we felt we were breathing in before. (I know... placebo effect perhaps --- but we can tell a difference.) Highly recommend these guys!!! read more

When we came to view the house we were looking at buying, the AC and Heat was off. When I showed up for the inspection after our offer was accepted, the inspector had to run both systems. It was then that I could barely breathe due to overwhelming allergy and asthma symptoms. I almost backed out of buying the house before I learned about air duct cleaning. Our dryer was displaying an error message and would not work. Simultaneously, our AC went out. Mind you, it is 102 degrees outside and 90 degrees inside due to our AC being broken. Eran came and unclogged our dryer vent in the 90 degree house and even went into our attic to dislodge it. I would not have faulted him for asking to come back another day due to the heat, but he told us it was okay and did the work anyway. Just had the air duct cleaning by this company. I would have given 5 stars if the company had been upfront about it's pricing and given a clear quote. I gave 2 stars for 2 reasons: 1. The cleaning job was good (could have been better especially after charging much higher than other companies) 2. I should have asked them to send me the quote in writing before the service. (my fault) I called last week to ask around the pricing. The lady asked for number of return vents in the house. I'm not an experyt. So I specifically asked her "is the return vent where I put the sir filters in". She said multiple times yes that's it. Turns out they found 2 more return vents in house and charged $50 extra for them!! I told her at least 5 times the house has 2 returns where I put the air filters, has two AC's and it's two story house. She kept saying it's $195 + $25 for any additional returns. Eron did a decent job. But the price after the service was more than twice that I had anticipated. What frustrates me more is that there are other people who gave the quote (in writing) much less than that. They had much higher number of positive reviews on Yelp. I decided to go with TGA based on pricing alone. They turned out to exuberantly more expensive. Don't trust the other reviews that they are cheaper. Look around. There are many good companies with 5 star reviews on Yelp which are much more reasonable. If you don't mind exuberant prices then TGA is not a bad option. But I feel like I got ripped off! read more

While I cannot attest to the actual service work of this company, I can tell you that they are honest. I recently scheduled a chimney cleaning because we just moved into a previously owned home, and were not sure how dirty it might be. The owner showed up and took a look into the chute- he said it looked like it was so clean it might never even been used. He said that he could not in good faith 'clean' it and charge me the $165. He charged me only for the service fee ($35). I know there are a lot of scamers out there, and we could have gotten taken advantage of in this case. I am a few weeks behind on writing this review even though I think about the awesome job they did almost daily as I pull a completely dry load of laundry from my dryer, AFTER JUST ONE CYCLE. We have lived in this house almost 10 years and had never cleaned our dryer duct vent thing and once the dryer started taking 2 -3 cycles to dry a load of laundry, I started to get concerned about that and possible fire risks and called them up. It has been just over two years since Mr. Naim "cleaned" our ducts. He was in a hurry that Saturday (daughter's soccer game), and therefore accessed our ducts by slashing them wide open with a box cutter, and trying, but failing, to seal them shut with duct tape. The problem with cutting into fiberglass-lined ductwork is that you can't "seal" it with tape from the outside--it has an inner plastic lining that prevents the glass from flowing into the airway, and once that's cut, all hell breaks loose.. We had to move out of our house and live in a hotel for two months as showers of fiberglass were embedding in our belongings, scraping our skin, and landing in our food and drink. We had to have all damaged ductwork replaced, and enjoyed two years of hanging pantyhose from every air vent to catch the continuing rain of fiberglass and dead spiders that crawled into the gaping holes that summer. Mr. Naim never accepted responsibility for his actions, but rather attempted several times to enter my property and cover up his errors. He smirked, made sarcastic remarks, and refused to assist us in regaining lost ground with our home and our filing with his insurance. He had the gall to claim that he never even did the work in the first place! We filed with his insurance and were reimbursed to the tune of over $20,000 for the damage he caused, and the expenses we incurred while living out of a hotel while trying to maintain normalcy for a school-aged child. Today, we finally took some of the pantyhose off the vents, to still find 3-inch-long chunks of slashed fiberglass resting in the grates. I feel for Mr. Naim's wife and kids; she seems like a nice person who gets caught in the middle of his blunders and misbehavior. I do know one thing now...I will investigate much further before I allow a serviceman into my home that I will have to ban from my property later. This company's reviews were very good, and I'm glad I chose them. Eran was mannerly and quick in cleaning my dryer vent, which runs through the center of the house. Prior to this, it took almost twice as long and fabric still came out semi-damp, but I just dried a big load of towels and sheets in under an hour! Wish I contacted these guys before I bought a new dryer thinking it was my dryer as the problem. But after getting a new one and running first laundry cycle, the heating element went. Turned out it was because the vent was in bad shape. They came out on short notice, and wow did they pull out some crazy clogs! I thought after doing my self cleaning like vacuum and leaf blower that it should've been good to go but I was wrong, I think enough stuff came out that I could've made a pillow from it! And that was only from the blown out part that I could see. I'm curious to what got sucked up in the beginning with their big vac because it sounded like a heavy thud into the machine.
