I really like the people who work at this place, so I feel badly giving the place less than 4 stars, but I like to be honest in my reviews re my experience. And the place is not bad by any means... clearly from the reviews people cherish this place. We walked in at about 1130am on Sunday and it was packed. The door opens right into a table for one person, and from there, there is a counter (typical for diners), and the three other sides are bordered with booths. The entire middle is packed with tables and chairs. It's really, really tight in here. The ambience is nice, with photos and paintings of old cars, old planes... We waited a little while to be seated in a corner booth, which was nice. My daughter liked her pancakes, my wife really liked her eggs. The eggs and bacon were perfectly done, IMO. We got apple juice and orange juice, which were little bottles of Apple & Eve. I asked for the sandwich "Roast Beef and Gravy." When it arrived... I thought it was something covered with mole, but then realized it was my sandwich completely covered with gravy, and I wouldn't be able to eat it as a sandwich. Usually, when a sandwich like this is served smothered in gravy (and therefore needs to be eaten with a knife and fork), it is called "Hot Open Roast Beef Sandwich." In this case, the sandwich was served closed, so I would say "Roast Beef Sandwich smothered in Beef Gravy" on the menu. It would really help someone know what to expect. I really wanted to grab a sandwich with my hand and dip it into gravy. Knowing what kind of gravy it was would have been helpful, too. But I was disappointed that the roast beef itself was not hot. It wasn't cold, just kind of cool. Even the gravy was cool. It was strange. I ate the roast beef and left the bread for the most part. I would not recommend this dish unless they change it a bit. My wife left over her hash brown potatoes since they were kind of hard / chewy. All in all, and decent place for locals who can deal with a really tight space. This is a sweet, old-fashioned family diner, one of a dying breed. It seats about fifty people, in booths, tables, or stools at the bar: Seat yourself and the waitress or owner brings you a menu. Breakfast is served all day, the choices run to two pages, plus more specials on the white board above the kitchen entrance. If only I had known sweet crepes were a possibility! We stopped by for a late breakfast(currently still in restaurant). We were greatly surprised.. it seems like a lil neighborhood restaurant but we were greatly surprised. We like neighborhood family restaurants and this place did mot disappoint. I ordered the vegetable omelet and my husband ordered steak and eggs. My omelet was the BEST I've ever tasted. I usually leave more than half the omelet on my plate. I left about 3 bites in my plate. DELICIOUSLY sautéed veggies and sooo much flavor. Not huge hard pierces of veggies but small flavorful bites. My husband's steak was nicely cooked to order and flavorful. Can't go wrong with this place. When we were coming into the restaurant a customer leaving told us it he food was wonderful and this is the truth. Service is always prompt and friendly! Food is all homemade and delicious. They have daily specials that are varied and delicious! The restaurant has recently changed hands from a wonderful couple that took pride in all they served. I was afraid when I heard they stepped down () the new owners would change the menu and the whole ambiance of Salisa's. Not so..the menu was the same with a few additions, same great Deluxe Chicken Sandwich (they still toasted the roll!) Had a little chat with the new owners on my way out..lovely couple! Decided to try a new restaurant in the area. When we walked in it was small and cozy and homie. There was absolutely no wait for seating. We sat at the counter, which was nice. We got our drinks right away and our order was taken in a timely manner. They even gave us a complementary plate of fruit because they were celebrating their one year anniversary. Then it went downhill. We ordered an omelette and an egg dish with bacon on the side and a coffee and an orange juice. The food came out in a relatively timely manner, considering the restaurant was full. But we were missing an order of bacon and one of the orders got the wrong toast. The orange juice wasn't orange juice, but an orange juice blend in a ridiculously small bottle. The waitress never came by to ask us how everything was so I never got the chance to let her know that we were missing a bacon order and we got the wrong toast. The food was mediocre nothing special. And to top it off when we asked for hot sauce, we got the most disgusting, dirty, greasy crusty bottle you could ever imagine. And not only that it was missing its cap. My family and I went to visit today and we absolutely fell in love with the actual diner feel of this establishment. Walking in was so cozy on this rainy Thursday! For sure a family friendly place. Staff and service were very sweet and attentive. Even gave my little dude some crayons and paper to draw on while we waited for our food. We ordered the kids silver dollar chocolate chip pancakes, mushroom and Swiss burger with fries (fries we're well seasoned and overall phenomenal), and my fiance had their biscuits and gravy(they were generous with the gravy ). We enjoyed every bite of our food. Nothing left behind. Parking was plentiful, and an easy place to find right on the boulevard. They have booths available as well as regular tables. Open everyday except Mondays. Wish we had photos to share but unfortunately the food disappeared pretty quickly. A little additional note: food does take a bit to come out (which was fine for us) as I believe everything is made to order and def worth the wait. Thank you for serving us today. I came here for a solo breakfast on a Sunday morning and loved every part of it. It's a simple diner, so I was looking for the essentials; eggs, toast and homefries with a protein. For 8.99, you get exactly that (choice of sausage, bacon or ham) and a coffee. I sat at the diner bar and they had things pretty spaced out, which was comfortable in a COVID era world and dining indoors. Service was very personable. The food was delicious. Potatoes were perfectly crispy on the outside without being burnt, but nice and soft on the inside. A+ homefries. Eggs were perfectly over easy and although the sausage was just typical diner sausage (nothing too special), it was delicious. If you're looking for breakfast or lunch food, check out Salisa's for sure. I would definitely love to come back at some point for more breakfast-y diner food! read more

Probably not the day to write this review. I have been to the restaurant a handful of times, mostly on Sunday mornings after church around 10:30. We stop by here because it's a small place with not many tables, but even on Sundays somehow we have never had a wait. The food does not come out quick, I've noticed that every time. You better be prepared to wait a half hour for a basic breakfast, I don't think I've gotten service quicker then that before. The food is hit or miss. Today was a huge miss for me, and made me feel gross for a portion of the day. I ordered corn beef hash, over medium eggs, and rye toast. My toast had so much butter that it was soggy the whole way through, but my big problem was the eggs. They where not over medium, they weren't even over easy, they where raw. I like to mix the yolk with the corn beef, but cutting into the first one,the egg white was running over my plate. Like I stated probably not the day to write a review, other days the food has been good. Overall I enjoy their pancakes, I would stay away from the eggs. read more

Divey little roadside diner that offers up genius portions of tasty homemade comfort food. We stopped in and sampled the turkey plate lunch along with the chicken and biscuits specials. While the turkey plate was good. The stuffing was homemade with lots of soft breading and chunks of veggies; just like your grandma would make. The green beans where perfectly seasoned and strongly reminded me of my grandmas canned beans; my favorite. The turkey, and potatoes where good, needed just a touch of s&p Now to get down to the star of the show. Those chicken & biscuits. Imagine delicious pot pie filling with a generous amount of shredded chicken mixed in, sitting on top of homemade biscuits. A deconstructed pot pie with tender veggies and packed with flavor. Service was quick and friendly. It's the type of establishment your grandparents frequent for dinner, and everyone seems to know each other. Portions are enough to share. Coming into this place I immediately noticed three occurrences of a sign showing "no outside food or drink". Do they really have a huge problem to warrant signs like that?! There's a very small dining room here with just a few booths and a few rows of tables connected together. You don't get much privacy, and anything you discuss can be heard by your neighbors. I noticed the menu had quite a few items on it, though for a small old diner, I expected lower prices. You're not going to get a cheap breakfast here like some of the diners downtown. Some of their dishes, like sandwiches, come with a small bag of Lays potato chips--I really find that cheesy. Why not just offer French fries with them? I can buy a bag of Lays at 7-Eleven! They actually have beer on tap at this diner, Molson Canadian or Sam Adams Oktoberfest. The server was pleasant and told us about the Friday Fish Fry special, $10.50 for haddock (battered or grilled), three salads of your choice, and choice of potato (baked, mashed, or fries). It was only 5:00pm and the server said they were already out of mac and cheese, so we went for the only other choices: coleslaw, potato salad, and macaroni salad. They gave the two of us two slices of Italian bread with butter before our entrees came. After about 20 minutes, the entrees came out. The fries were cooked a bit too long for me, they are the standard crinkle cut frozen variety. The fish we ordered was beer battered and tasted good with not a lot of batter. However, the size of the salads on the plate are about the size of an ice cream scoop, I expected a bit more. The macaroni tasted like tuna was in it, not a fan, and wish I knew ahead of time. The coleslaw was not bad, but the potato salad tasted very bland. Our server wasn't around as much as we would have liked. We noticed another server was tending to other tables a bit better and we asked her about the name of the place. She said it was named after the first names of the owners, Sal and Lisa--interesting! read more

Salisa's is my favorite place for a fish fry. The fish is very thick, with a light breading. Also included are bread, macaroni salad, cole slaw, and French fries. The French fries seem to be of the frozen variety, so I always request a baked potato instead and they gladly comply. This is a very small, diner-like place. We found this little gem near the Niagara Falls Airport when our original destination turned out to be closed on Tuesdays. Drove right by it as it's so small, and set back a bit from the road. Not an attractive place, (not much is in sunny NFNY) but the homemade soup, fresh, no frills food and very nice staff make it a solid choice. Our food came out very fast and hot. The service here is exceptional, the entire staff was friendly and accomodating to our large group of 16. The food took a little bit of time to be made but that was expected with our large group, and for the quality of the food that was served the wait was definitely not an issue. I had just randomly found this place while using the monocle function on the Yelp! app. This place is a converted home and has far more parking lot than building but do not let that deter you. The food is great, the staff is courteous and laid back, and the prices are right. The dining area is cozy, small if you don't like your dining neighbors. Do not come here when you only have a short lunch. GO when you can take your time because the staff will get to you when they are good and ready. I recommend the chopped steak sandwich on 'weck (for non-WNYers, that's a kaiser roll covered in salt and carraway seed) with fries.
