With 9 locations in NJ and overall decent reviews, I I called before heading over to ensure they had the tire I needed. I spoke to JR who was super friendly and present. I drove over, checked in, dropped my keys off, and waited. He told me it would be about an hour (which turned out to be an accurate estimate). The good news is they said they were able to patch up the tire and I didn't need to buy a new one! I was surprised and relieved. They also ensured my wheels were balanced and that the rest of the tires had no issues. Overall, I had a positive experience here and would recommend their services.

The waiting room chairs were separated and the counters had plastic protectors up and large tires in front of them ensuring that people do not get too close to the employees. Everyone was wearing masks and that was appreciated. They fixed my AC pretty quickly after calling me to notify of the problem. He…read morefound out that I was nearly out of transmission fluid, located some nearby, got it delivered and installed in a timely manner. That was all good. Very nice service, let me use the wifi and stay inside on a very cold day. Well, it only occurred to me later, after the car was diagnosed properly at my normal service place - when a car runs out of transmission fluid, might there not be a leak? Shouldn't a good technician realize that and check for a leak? Apparently the fluid was pooling in the tray under the engine. Mike's didn't see that? So A for friendliness, E for effort. I'm going to keep going farther to the place that goes the extra mile and keeps my car on the road.

I explained my daughter stopped there earlier to put air in a tire and it was low again within minutes. She immediately said you probably need a new tire. Sight unseen. I said maybe, I dont know, can someone look at it. She said it would be about 15 minutes. Ok not bad, I took a seat. She went into the garage and started screaming at the mechanic like he was a 2 year old drawing with a sharpie on the wall. How unprofessional and mean she was, I was very uncomfortable. Then he brought my car in. A few minutes later she waved me over to come see the nail in the tire, too close to the sidewall to repair. They both kept telling me it was bubbling when they sprayed it but it was not plain water, it was bubbly everywhere. I did see a tiny nail though. So she priced out a new tire but has to order it. I said I would see if someone else had it. Tried calling the Lake Parsippany store but got the call center. Very nice young lady who said there was one about 48 miles away they could get for tomorrow morning, she offered me a decent discount, and I gave her a $25 deposit. I told the girl in the store who promised to call me as soon as it got there so I could come in for them to mount and balance it. I asked her to have the spare put on. She said they were not allowed to put on a"half spare". Whatever that is, I assume she meant donut. I said this is a tire shop are you kidding. She said no, we are not allowed to any more, try Pep boys up the road maybe they can. For real???? Well that was the best advice ever! I called even though I would be passing right by and the manager was just as surprised as I was that they wouldn't do it. He said come right over I will help you, even after I told him I was coming from Mavis. So he asked if I had time for him to put the car on the lift and see where this nail was and why they couldn't patch it. I said please go right ahead. I went over to help them find it easier because I knew what I was looking for and there were no bubbles when they sprayed water on it in fact the manager pulled it out and it wasn't even in the tire it was stuck in the tread it was so tiny. They kept spraying and found a real nail in the middle of the tire. Mavis didn't find it they just wanted to sell me a new tire for $250. Between the incompetence and unprofessionalism and oddity that they couldn't even put a spare on for me, they've lost a customer for life. This was not the only negative experience I've had with that store, but I expected places like that to try and sell you things you don't need I just say no. This was for worse. And they let me drive off with a tire that lost 10 pounds of air within a few minutes of them filling it. Never again. Stay far away!
