I really appreciate these guys getting to my car quickly as the AC went out and it's been hot around here. I made an appt online easily and they called to notify that they could see me sooner. I dropped it off and immediately noticed that the lobby was well put-together for covid safety. The waiting room chairs were separated and the counters had plastic protectors up and large tires in front of them ensuring that people do not get too close to the employees. Everyone was wearing masks and that was appreciated. They fixed my AC pretty quickly after calling me to notify of the problem. I picked up my car later that day and I feel that the price for a new belt plus recharging was very fair at around $300. Props to them for being professional, courteous, and most of all safe! Came back the following to schedule the tire replacement, but was at the last shift for Sunday at 4 pm and it took longer for LeasePlan to approve the tires. I usually go to this location because it's close to my house, and they know my father (which means I can use his Firestone Card and get the discounts). However, I've always felt funny about getting my car serviced here. I came here a few years ago because my 2016 Fit had issues with the battery. I explained exactly what was happening with the car (including the radio and alarm not working). When I went to pick up the car, I noticed that the car lights weren't turning on when I used the remote. So, I turned on the car. The radio didn't turn on. The lights weren't working properly. I didn't even pull out of the parking lot and knew my car wasn't fixed. Fast forward to 2022. I brought my car to the shop in June because the air conditioning wasn't working. After several hours, I picked it up, and things seemed fine, but apparently, there was a leak. So, when it stopped working again in July, they examined it and determined that I would have to take the car to Honda. So, I spent hundreds of dollars on repairs, wasted hours of my time, and my car was still not fixed. I also had my tires replaced during the summer and brought the car back twice in the fall to patch/replace a damaged tire. So, my car has been in this shop 4-5 times in the past six months. Each time I've been charged for an overall vehicle inspection. Yet, nobody told me my brakes were starting to go and would need to be replaced soon. I discovered the issue when my brakes wouldn't engage on my commute to work. While I understand things happen, I was under the impression that my car was okay because nobody said anything to me during any of my visits- even though I explicitly asked them to let me know if anything else needed to be done. I made an 8 am appointment and dropped my car off the night before so it would be there first thing in the morning. I came in just before 9:30 and asked about the status of my vehicle. They hadn't even started. I was told that other people had arrived before me and/or made an appointment. I got a work order email at 6:47 am, so my car was here before 7. I also had an appointment online; if the 8 am slot was filled, it shouldn't have been available to book online. Apparently, my issue was that I expected brakes to take an hour. I'm not a mechanic. I don't know how long car repairs take. I was expecting to wait. My issue is that they didn't even START on my car until almost two hours AFTER my scheduled appointment time. I intentionally scheduled an early appointment time because I have things to do. However, I should have known better. They're notorious for taking several hours longer than promised or not communicating estimates. I'll probably be taking my car in for repairs in a month or so at the rate I'm going. read more

I've had about a week of 'hard starts' with my car and this morning when it barely turned over I knew I had a battery that had finally started it's death knell. I knew that Firestone opened early so I brought the car in, hoping they could take me right away...and they did. They checked the battery and told me it was dead, which is what I figured. Since I'm getting a new vehicle soon-I asked for whatever their low-end battery was...they didn't have one in stock-so they gave me the better one and discounted it to the other battery's price. THAT is the kind of service that has kept me coming back here. I've been coming to this Firestone location for over a decade, and while there were times when the 'ouch factor' was there, I've never had a problem with their service or had a 'surprise' when I came in to pay the bill...it was always because my vehicle needed the work. I was shocked at the other review of this Firestone since, like I said, I've been coming here for over a decade. The same manager has been there since I started bringing my cars in for service and he's always been honest and up front about pricing. Firestone certainly isn't the cheapest place to have repairs done, but they've always been reliable...and I can't say that about other repair shops I've used in the past - including the one I worked at when I was in high school (damn, that was along time ago). I will continue to bring my vehicles here for work, until they give me a reason not to, but after a decade of service I'm pretty confident that if there was a problem they'd take care of it for me. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Been going to them for years. They must have another new manager. When they called my son they listed only some of the work and did not give a cost estimate. When he picked up the car there was a laundry list of additional repairs and the cost was 3x what I was expecting. When I asked the salesman why additional repairs and no cost estimate his reply was, "If he would have asked, I would have told him." Everyone beware of the crooked way this place does business. MiNUS 4 STARS (Stay Away!!) This Firestone Complete Care auto repair and tire shop has had difficulty satisfying problems that we've experienced with engine repairs such as water-pump and timing belts and even relatively simple things like brake service. A water-pump repair and (simultaneously "recommended") timing-belt repair has cause so much damage to my car's engine that I've run up thousands of dollars of cascading repairs as a result of their shoddy workmanship. The timing-belt issue was perplexing and because I have since learned that the timing-belt was not properly set and that the "teeth were off" and it was the cause of a tremendous loss of power, fuel mixture/ oxygen problems, carbonized the spark-plugs, etc., . . . . . . but Firestone merely said it was transmission related and that it wasn't changing gears. A competent repair shop corrected the timing-belt and the car runs great now, but Firestone is unresponsive and ultimately dismissive and terse to my claims. Additionally, the water-pump was incorrectly installed and the shoddy workmanship caused it to malfunction as well. I had to have the entire cooling system replaced after the engine overheated plus new gaskets! A new electronic distributor assembly also was ruined by the overheated engine. Firestone is unresponsive and ultimately dismissive and terse to this claim too. One more thing . . , my wife's brakes were deliberately sabotaged by Firestone as discovered by the mechanics at other auto-repair-shops so that she would not hear the telltale sound of the poorly installed brake-shoes (some nodule was deliberately cut off). Fortunately, the other repair shop found this and replaced the brake-shoes and showed us on the replaced brakes where Firestone made the cuts (we have the brake shoes) Firestone refused to address this issue and tried to take the evidence from us. We're considering what our next steps and options are. Certainly, their customer satisfaction level is poor to say the least with me. No thanks to Firestone, my car is now running better than ever thanks to the competent repairs (if not expensive) of the professionals at Dover Dodge/Chrysler [that's right . . I take my car all the way up there now rather than take a chance with repair shops around here for engine work]. Thank GOD for Dover Dodge/ Chrysler. read more

I am updating my previous review which I did last year when I got 4 new tires bought from Firestone . Yesterday car's front left tire bursted on main highway when I was on fast lane on 65mph speed . My car's left section above the tire got scratches from the divider. And I was stuck on speed lane with heavy fast moving traffic . Somehow I moved my car to the right shoulder . So today I went to Firestone to get my tire replaced and as usual they said that this does not cover under their warranty and charged me for new tire. The tire which burst had only 8000 miles on it . Now my advise to everyone who is getting tired replaced from Firestone - first never get it from them since I believe they have either duplicate or bad quality tires and secondly if you have no option available then please take their road hazard protection because after using their tires , you will definitely need it . read more

Home of the 90 minute overpriced oil change !!! I really want to like this place but they are just took slow on the oil change. The price quoted on the phone is less than what they actually charge and they take a long time to just change the oil. I told myself I should give a more comprehensive mechanical shop a chance and this is my second oil change here, so it's not a one time thing. I made an appointment and arrived on time only to have to wait 15 minutes even to speak to someone. I could have been nearly through a dedicated oil change operation in that time, no appointment. I'm sorry to say that the jiffy lube or similar shop is actually a faster, less expensive, more complete experience and that will be my future. read more

Brought in my daughters Corolla for new tires, was told on the phone it'd be 95$/tire, or course - true to Firestone nature - I get in and they say they only have 135$ tires (per tire) And then the salesman continues to tells me it's recommended for the vehicle, it's a performance tire so I'd notice a difference while driving. My experience has always been very good. I'm usually there on Saturday morning, one of the busiest times of the week. My suggestion if you want a Saturday appointment is to call earlier in the week and tell them what you need, then arrive as early as possible. They open at 7, but on Saturdays they don't seem to get started on repairs until 7:30, so no need to rush to get there before that. They don't do transmission work which was a little disappointing; though they gave me a referral to Denville Transmissions, where I will go next week. read more

I have always had good luck with firestone, used to go to fairview a lot but now this is my home shop. Service is better than fairview as that place was always a zoo. Anyway if get my oil changed here because I get the free tire rotation since I bought tires there. I mention to check a brake squeak, they come back and tell me someone put new pads on rusty rotors. Check my records and just 4k miles prior the dealership apparently resurfaced them. So I said let me take it back to dealership and thanked them for the observation. I will keep returning. read more

I had a great experience at Firestone, where my car was serviced for an oil and air filter change. I set up my appointment online and when I arrived the staff was welcoming and very friendly. I only had to wait roughly 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment for my car to be serviced and the oil change took about 30 minutes. My air filter was a specialty filter that was not in stock at their location. Instead of telling me to go to the dealer or another auto care, one of the employees called up to a local auto shop and was able to find the filter and immediately went to pick it up the same day of my scheduled appointment. I returned later in the day for the air filter to be replaced and it was installed right away with no wait. read more

Went there since the place was recommended to me. I needed to get winter tires mounted and since they are a bit wider (265) I choose a professional tire shop... Picked up the car after the tire change and immediately after entering RT 46 my steering wheel vibrated like crazy starting, at a speed of 20mph! Obviously no one made a test drive to check their work. So called the next morning (after an not exactly relaxing drive home and to the office in the morning) and was told to come back. Only comment was they will try again or put the summer tires back on - great, thank you. So, back I was (big fun for the second time - drive there, wait for an Uber, Uber back to office, Uber back to Firestone in the pm...) and picked up the car - gray improvement, wheel now only vibrates when faster 60mph... So in a nutshell : They mounted and balanced brand new wheels (delivered to them) which where already balanced, then charged me again 70 USD for balancing and my wheels are still vibrating, glad I choose professionals.... We went down the road to 76 gas station (used to be Sunoco) and the man said we needed an appointment but we explained what happened and he was more then happy to help us. Easy to make apt on line . Showed up a couple of minutes prior to my appointment waited about 30 minutes for my car to even be taken into the bay. Had my exhaust piping changed here. Mechanic hung it with nylon tie straps. He said he always does them this way. One week later strap melted and it was dragging. Get your repair work checked by a real mechanic if you've been here. So glad it didn't cause an accident. read more

I was traveling from Long Island to Rochester when my wheel started making a bad noise and my car was shaking. I had just gotten tires (on Long Island) from a Firestone and saw they opened at 7am (it was 640am when I pulled over) so I decided to go there thinking the worst. Turns out my lugnuts weren't tightened properly! I was back on the road by 8! The Star was EXTREMELY nice and caring. They could see I was scared traveling and were also super accommodating while I had my cat with me in his carrier. I'm so happy I stopped here, they're amazing!! read more

Stopped by today to get my rear tires replaced. I have a rare tire size/fit, and they were one of the only places that stocked them. They found a crack in my rim and immediately notified me and addressed the issue. Within the time frame that I was expected to have the car back for the rear tires to begin with, they had the rim repaired and tires on ready to go. Payed a pretty penny for the service, but their labor charge was NOT the cause; the parts were. Friendly guys. Great service, too! read more

Car Repair is always a negative experience for everyone, because you don't want to be without your car and by the time you drag it to the mechanic or have it towed you are already pissed. After all a car should last forever and never give you any headaches right? Remember that the mechanic did not break your car nor did he do a bad thing if he found something that needed worked on while fixing the item you brought it in for. In fact I had a recent issue that I thought was minor and they found a wheel hub that was falling apart that I did not know about that could have seriously injured me. So should I blame the cost of fixing that on the mechanic? No the car was breaking all on its own. Well I have used a number of different shops to keep my business fleet on the road over the years and while they are not perfect, they are human and they do try so I don't understand some of these reviews. This group does stand behind what they do and their prices are reasonable. You may say because I have a small group of vehicles I get preferential treatment, but I don't think so as I have seen how they work with others when I have been in there. The manager Novi wants to make things right and will work with you and honestly I don't know how him and his staff can keep a positive attitude with some of the customers the walk in already pissed and yelling before they have even had the chance to do any work for them or even price something out. When something is not right, just talk to Novi and give them a chance to make it right and I have found they will everytime. Again, they are not perfect, but I have found them to be fair and reasonable. As far as commercial vehicle repair shops, they are one of the better ones I have run into so far. When they don't know something and feel it should be done by a specialist or the dealer, they will say it up front and not try to do a job they are not qualified for. read more

Update: this is the second time I've had an experience here. Firestone gives every new Parsippany resident a free oil change. My girlfriend recently had her car serviced there and it took 1.5 hours this time around. Customer service was pretty much lackluster, with one of the service people a bit more crass than she cared for. We gave this place a second chance and it's still a no go. The place 30 seconds away will change your oil much much quicker (next to the car wash) for the same price. Seriously no incentive to give another thought here. Not sure why this establishment doesn't understand that customer service is what brings customers back, not free oil changes. read more

I need to update my review - it saddens me because the employees I dealt with were very nice to me and that means a lot to me in a company I choose to do business with, but the quality of the service is what led to my downgrade in rating. After returning my car the first time to resolve the still-unresolved issues I had already paid $2000 to resolve, both issues reoccurred and I needed to bring my car back again. Plus there was now a new issue - an exhaust leak! Lovely! The horrible grinding/rattling sound that had originally been blamed on a bad catalytic converter and then further blamed on needing the front end of the car lubricated? It turned out to be a strut plate making the noise and NOT a very expensive catalytic converter. I cannot say for sure since the people telling me there was absolutely no way I actually needed a catalytic converter did not actually evaluate my car while it was making the noise, but since they all told me the same things (that my check engine light would have come on if I actually needed it replaced, etc.) and that the new catalytic converter did nothing to resolve the issue I brought it to Firestone for, I tend to believe them. And while it can never be proven as to what exactly caused it, the exhaust leak that started about a week after my last return to Firestone? It was in the resonator ... the part right next to the catalytic converter that was, in my opinion, unnecessarily replaced. I can't help but think the act of replacing the part next to my resonator may have contributed to the leak at the resonator. Firestone offered to order the part and take my car to a second garage to have it welded in, but as the appointment approached I could not fathom bringing my car back to them and chose to let a new garage (successfully!) resolve that issue. 3 separate trips to Firestone (+ 1 to the garage that fixed the exhaust leak) for the same problems - I am lucky my boss is understanding, but I could not be understanding any more. They fixed the strut plate without charging me which was very nice, but I would have happily paid them to do so the first time I brought my car to them if they had only diagnosed it correctly! The other issue with the brake lights coming on was finally resolved by Firestone and at no charge to me - they said I needed a new housing for the sensor. Again, I appreciated them absorbing this cost and consider that good customer service, but if it had been correctly diagnosed the first of the 3 times I brought the car to them, I would have happily paid for it AND would not have had to take a total of 4 days away from the office to get it dealt with! The employees at this Firestone are very nice and I know that others have had excellent experiences there, but I need more than that - I need mechanics that can identify the problem correctly and fix it! read more

I went to this place last year. I had asked for a tune up they told me I didn't need one which I thought was wonderful they were saving me money. They only changed my belts. Before this my car made absolutely no noise, after they gave me my belts my car squealed. If I put on the air or heat, if I put on my defrosters even if I stepped on the breaks, also my head lights were dimming. I went back twice both times they said nothing was wrong with the belts they didn't hear anything. I took it to another place, they told me whoever installed the belts put them on wrong. That's why I was having all the issues I had with my car. read more

My experience (twice) have not been great with these folks. I went twice for oil change and there was a noise which comes when I drive in certain speed and both the times they were not able to find the issue. First time they said, its the plastic sheets under the body which is causing and they fixed it. But that did not fix the issue 2nd time I visited and I made the same complain. In-fact I asked them to seat with me while I drive for 2/3 mins and we figure out the noise and possible issue with it. The person on the front office said no one can come with me for a test ride. I failed to persuade them and then explained how the noise comes so that they can try. And the end result was the same, neither of the time the noise and the issue was detected and worked upon. But they happily charge me for the inspection they make. Another problem is with tire air pressure check. When I received the car, the tire pressure indicator was on and when I stopped by to ask them, they said "it would go off after 5 miles of drive". I drove for 2 days about 50 miles still the indicator didnot go off. I finally ended up in checking the pressure and realized that they were all less (29 where as it should be 32). They also wont apply discounts unless you ask. It is strange to see they publishing the coupons in their site but not applying unless some one asks. When I asked about discount the guy annoyingly asked me to explicitly tell them while giving the car for service. that is lil strange. Very very annoying experience going to them. they would make sure they get other work done with the oil change service which will fetch them good money but these kind of issues which could take some time will be easily be ignored. I've been going to this Firestone for 20 years. Their service manager always stays in contact throughout the process so decisions can be made on the spot. I've gotten countless tires successfully plugged and was on my way without issue on all of my personal vehicles. They also handle our company vans and have quickly repaired a variety of things like tires, belts, PCV valves, check engine lights and more. They've also done routine services on our fleet and kept us running through the years. read more

I mostly work through George and he has been extremely honest and thorough with my cars. Someone complained about being pricey, I view that as being thorough finding things out about the car I didn't know about. I trust these guys with my wife's and 2 daughter's cars.
