This guy was rude as hell. Another 1 star for them added to all the other ones. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new barber. My first few calls don't go through. I decided to walk in since they say they're open until 7pm on Yelp and it was only 5:30. He said they were closed, and when I asked what time, he literally looked at the clock behind him and read the time. He told me walk-ins are on a specific day, so I go again and he said they're closed. He's either dumb or he's acting dumb as if he didn't tell me to come in. I don't understand these bad reviews. My son has been coming here for over 4 years and Mr. Lee has been consistently good. Because of this, he is usually booked up. I can only assume there's a language barrier and when he says they're closed he means he doesn't have availability for that day. I called in Monday Labor Day. It said the voicemail is not set up. So I drove out with the chance that it's closed. It was closed. No big deal. I kinda expected it. Just to find out that Friday today is appointments only. I drove here twice half hour each way and there isn't anything he will do for me. I was really hoping I could make this my new barber. The information on here is incomplete and no matter how good of a barber he is. Having a business line that's not working. And not having clearly posted that Friday is appointments only is unprofessional. I recommend you get a business card to make an appointment. But don't risk driving here without having been able to reach the owner. In closing I wasn't able to get a haircut. Very clean, professional and the barber uses more sheers than a clipper. You can tell he has crazy skills and wrist control. It may take a little longer than usual Korean salon ladies but the quality is 100%!! It was my first time visiting and was very satisfied. He also shaves the back of your neck, side urn area and washes your hair at the end. There were two people in front of me on Monday morning around 11AM. The shop was very busy with regular customers. Whatever city I am in, I try to find the best shave and haircut. In Los Angeles, a quick perusal of Google and I found several top 10 lists by TV shows and trendy online webzines. I've paid anywhere from 10 to 100 dollars for a shave. Yet I have not had a finer haircut and shave than this place. I stumbled upon it by accident, tried it and have stuck with it. It does help that I speak Korean, as their English is limited. The barber has an ability to do a very tight fade with scissors, which I have never seen before. The person who does the shave is a woman, who's never cut hair, only shaved men's faces for over 20 years. They have worked together for some time. Once or twice a month I participate in the centuries old ritual of the shave. Facial hair is making a renaissance but like crops, the food of life, what is sown must be reaped. The shave brings me balance. There is also the craft of shaving someone with a blade without cutting them. I must yield to the craftsman's hands and let go. This connects me to a time when blades were normal, they served utility, they weren't just seen as a harming object but one that could also heal. I grow more appreciative of good craft and skilled craftsmen. When a treat didn't mean food, money, or drugs, a treat was also proper self-care. For artists to flourish once more we must learn to appreciate artistry and not just industrial consumer goods. For all these reasons the shave is a splendid experience. Not to mention it feels tremendous. A truly ancient spiritual experience and practice. Find a good craftsman, learn about the history of barbers, and give them a nice tip for their service. The people giving this place a 1 star review are ridiculous. Let me just start off by saying you are not going to get a haircut of this caliber at this price anywhere in LA. I've gotten my haircut here twice now. Both times I just did a drop in without any reservation, the wait is not long the barber is fast yet meticulous with his cuts. If you are coming here because you are expecting some kind of special treatment that you get at an $35 men's salon this is not the place for you. Here's a brief summary of how my haircut went: You tell the barber which number fade you want and how short you want your hair. He buzzes the sides and uses a scissor and comb to finish the fade paying special attention to how it looks. This is unlike any barber you've been to where they just buzz straight through with their clippers. Then once he is done his assistant does a straight razer shave on your neck area to make that clean fresh feel. She then uses a soft sponge to dust off any remaining hairs that may have been stuck to you so you walk out with a clean haircut and without worry of finding bits of hair on your neck, ears or shirt. Sometimes you get what you pay for but in this case you get so much more. read more

I was denied service because I'm a woman. Wish it were a joke. I have a fade and used barbers all my life. I stopped in for a clean up. At first I laughed when the barber said repeatedly "no women". I thought a language barrier? I explained the fade and men's cut. I did the motions. Nope, full on Old fashioned asshole. He said "I'm not giving a woman a mans haircut". He continued yelling "no women!!" Some other lady from the back joined in this yelling of women not having men's hair? "U can't be serious?" I asked. Best hair cut I've ever had. I tried 3 times, at 3 different barbers, to get a new style, and for some reason no one ever believed me. They would just shorten the style I already had. This barber (not sure of his name) asked questions to ensure he knew what I wanted, and then made it look better than I could have ever imagined. And at a price I didn't know you could get anymore. So I normally go to another place to get a haircut, which is within walking distance from my apartment. I arrived at around 9:15 as the normal hours are from 9-6. The sign said 9:30, and I figured what the heck, I'll wait fifteen minutes. As time went by and no one came by to open up shop, I walked back to my apartment and vowed not to return. I used Yelp to find another place to get a haircut and zones in on a place off of Wilshire. I plugged in the directions, but there was no barber shop in sight. I recall there being a barber shop across from Han Kook Supermarket in Koreatown, and I started driving there. I drove past Han Kook and ended up pulling over in a parking lot. Low and behold, I ended up parking in front of a barbershop. I got out of my car and headed inside. The friendly owner and his wife greeted me as the husband was getting ready to cut my hair. The barber has a knack for properly crafting buzz cuts. For $15+ tip, I left with a smile on my face and a great haircut to go along with it. I recommend getting a haircut here. read more

Was a bit concerned when I first walked in. Yeah, not that appealing from the outside. The owner comes off initial as aloof, but that's just his personality. For $19, can't be beat. They gave me and my husband dirty looks as if we weren't gonna pay. When we walked in we weren't greeted we were given a side eye from an old lady that's was asking some guys hair and a kinda bald man cutting another guy's hair. They gave my husband and uneven haircut but we kindly pay the full price anyway as soon as my husband was getting up from the chair to pay the bald kinda bald man the old lady was staring at my husband as if she was scared. Mind you we are both in our mid twenties no tattoos and we weren't dress in any cholo like clothes. We are very average looking couple so I found it rude that she would look at us in such a way. I just moved to LA and was looking for a legit barber shop. I had been going to the same place for the past 5 years in Orange County but my move north was unfortunately not without its downsides. Drove up to this shop that has around 4 parking places up front. You walk into a small shop with maybe 4 chairs and some couches. The Korean news channel is on and a middle aged gentleman looking clean is working on another older Korean man. As he finished I go up to the chair, sit down, and show him what I want. He isn't the most talkative but I feel like I'm in good hands. He starts shaving my sides first and then starts working his magic with scissors. I appreciate him because he uses more scissors than that razors and you can just watch as his consistent steady hands gets all the details. After the cut, he runs a towel through my head to get all the remaining hair out. He doesn't unfortunately really style it after but I guess I could've asked for it. My cut was $15 which was great compared to what I saw online. I just found my new go to place! read more

I think it's a man and his wife in there she does the shave and he does the cut and seriously they are both so meticulous and careful and precise it is a complete pleasure.
