I recently moved to the downtown area from the valley and I was in search for a new barber to cut my hair and decided to give Plugged LA Cutz a try. I have been here twice already and gotten a haircut from two different barbers here and they were both amazing. My first time I did not have an appointment so I had to wait a little bit before one of the barbers were available to cut my hair. The second time I did make an appointment however I was late so I had to wait until someone was available to cut my hair. Both times were on me and both times the wait was not that long. They do get busy on the weekends so appointments are necessary. Parking: There is a lot next to the shop, it is for another business but both times I have parked there and haven't had an issue. They do tell you to try and street park though just incase. Price: Their price is pretty average. Ranges from $25-$30 for just a standard haircut and then you can also add on services like beard trim and such. Vibes: For me personally I like the vibes of this place, the employees are very friendly and they always have good music playing. Also the barbers actually talk to you during the haircut so it's not an awkward 30 min - 1hr of silence during your haircut. I also noticed that there are quite a few of kids that get their haircut here and they are very good with kids! Usually at barbershops kids are crying but here they are very calm and the barbers are very kid friendly and talk to them throughout their haircut to make it a better experience for them. I was very happy with the haircut itself. I get a combover with a medium fade with the line at the partition and every time I get my haircut here I am very satisfied with their work. They are very meticulous and detailed and they ask you in detail what kind and your preferences for each step of the cut. I don't think i've ever been to a barbershop that pays attention to this much detail. Overall very satisfied with their haircuts. I will be a regular here as long as I live in the area. Even if I move I might even make the drive out here just because they are that good! Needless to say I have found my new go-to barbershop in the DTLA area and I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. read more

went in for the first time looking for a new go-to barbershop. they had a moderate wait for a walk-in but it was pretty average. i walked, so i cannot speak on the parking situation. the shop has music playing pretty loudly, but i enjoyed it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ theres also A/C, a restroom, and some seating for waits. rafael cut my hair, and even though there was a language barrier he made sure to fully know what i wanted and how i wanted it with the help of another barber translating. he was very meticulous with the line up and shave particularly, which was nice. i'm a former cancer patient and growing my hair back out after chemo, so i'm very picky with my hair now. i'm glad to say this barbershop met my expectations and more. in total it cost $40 for a haircut with beard trim. will come back and ask for him again forsure since i live so close. read more

Horrible customer service. I went in and as soon as I walked in 2 barbers asked me "Do you have an appointment?" No hello or welcome. I said I didn't have an appointment and did I need one to get a haircut? They pointed to each other asking if any of them wanted to cut my hair. No one was interested so the green shirt guy (tattoos and cap) told me to sit and they'll get to me. The long haired dude in glasses was just plain rude and had a bad attitude. Keep in mind they were playing on their phones, laughing and joking with each other. No other customers came in. As an insult, the green shirt guy kept looking my way smirking as if he was enjoying my torment as I waited. I left after 30 minutes of waiting and being bullied. Message to the owners: you may feel you don't need the money of people who don't look like you or who you think don't have money to give you in tips but you should know the customer is king! You may have discriminated against me today but I hope the tens of little boys and men who look different that come into your shop are given a fair chance to get good service just like you give to those who you prefer. read more

I live in Orange County so it's a bit of a drive for me, but after bringing my little brother in to get a haircut by Edwin, I would say it was well worth the drive. I've been getting my hair cut from Ulysses for about two years now. I was with him at the first plugged la cutz which I'd say was my finest barber shop experience. This second one looks like an even more upgraded version of the first! I would say go to Ulysses for your cut, but I don't really want to share him with anyone else! He's the man!
