This establishment is not the palace is used to be but it's a GEM. The draw is the natural hot springs pool, ice cold plunge pool, sauna and steam room. This is a small spa with seasoned professionals who are skilled, experienced and give a great massage and body treatments. I have yet to graduate to an esthetic treatment but it's definitely on my list! Areas that need improvement: Amenities in the inner chamber area, right next to the pool area. The amenities are minimal, Lipton tea bags are the only option and there are no disposable toothbrushes, hairstyling products nor mouthwash, etc: it was not always this way. A little more effort on pampering clientele would really make a difference as well as a light remodel such as a new paint job and decor. Place looks run down and shabby compared to the newer spa floor plans and maintenance of building. The body technicians could also be given nicer supplies to work with , they deserve it! Overall, I keep coming back here because of its unique features (spring geyser mineral water) and reputation of past but I also want the proprietor/s to be aware of the lack of care regarding maintenance really affects one's business profit and loss numbers. I'm here to support their business but would like a few changes to reflect their appreciation of both staff and patrons. Body technicians work so hard and efficiently, their natural approach to body care is lovely, with milk, honey and yogurt based products that are not only nourishing but soothing and relaxing slathered over both body and facial area. I went there for almost 7 years, just because the water is healing, but after the guy passed away who was the keeper of that place at men section, everyone there now is money hungry. if you dont tip the guy who is now the brother of the one who passed away he gets nasty and ask you to leave RIGHT before the 2 hour is coming to close, and you pay 55$ for 2 hour visit, they say NO PHONE but his son is always on the phone seating on the sofa playing games. Management is rude, pretending to be nice but nobody cares about customer service, i complained so many times and said give me the email of the owner and nobody does anything, please dont go there if you read this review. The body scrub section looks like an ER, crazy dirty, I even got fungus. Mold all over, but main concern is they NEED TO REMODEL THE WHOLE BUILDING AND FIRE EVERYONE and start from scratch. So, so sad what has happened to this place. I used to go all the time, for decades. The people who work there are wonderful, and it's the best body scrub in town. However, ever since ownership passed from the original owners to their son, rudeness is the name of the game. I was emailing today to set up a reservation, and the communication was so rude (I'd give you a blow-by-blow, but it's too detailed), I assumed I was communicating with a teenager. First time here, ever and it was a HBD gift. And I went today on New Year's for a shiatsu massage. It was a chill and cool experience. I'm always grateful to have a health positive experience such as massages, I'm a nature girl, vegetarian so you get where I'm going. :) The massage was intense, pressure points and all. I'm still a lil sore, but it got the job done. The only caveat here was that the heated blanket didn't function. The spa itself was fun. It felt like I was in a cave in Hawaii. There is a rock waterfall, with buddhas and orchid flowers. I swam around the jacuzzi, went to the sauna, cold plunged it. I was there for the full experience, bc it's a new year. :) Also, FYI zero clothing is allowed in the spa areas but during the massage they gave me large shorts to wear. That made me more comfortable actually. My only reservations are there are a few things here and there that need a handyman to attend to. My sister and I went for a body scrub and added on foot and scalp massage. The scrub was done in a room that had a very uncomfortable room temperature. We were literally freezing and excited when the lady would pour a hot bowl of water over us. In all fairness, they did admit the heater sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. They also soaked a hot towel to cover us in an attempt to keep us warm, but that lasted a minute. The locker room was also not temperature friendly. We could not wait to get dressed to get warm. The staff was great, friendly and accommodating. Sauna and steam room were decent. We did not use the cold plunge or mineral pool. We loved our foot and scalp massages but I will not return. Only because it did not have a comforting vibe for a spa. read more

This place is literally a joke. Nobody even speaks English. I had an overpriced body scrub today and I told them three times not to wet my hair and of course the scrub lady didn't even bother to look at the piece of paper. My hair was all wet. I have extensions and I just paid a lot of money to have it done and now my hair looks like crap. Then I was covered in scalding hot water three times by the lady that did the scrub. Then to top it all off they start yelling at each other in Korean and we're fighting over a workstation nonstop during my procedure. read more

The place is an absolute waste of money; there are much nicer spas out there. People who answer the phone speak English, but when you get there, most don't. I signed up for a Swedish massage and Shiatsu. The "therapist" - I wonder if he even has a license - spoke no English at all. Of course, he couldn't understand when I told him I have a knee injury, and he kept pressing on my knee. I was face down the entire time; that was NOT a Swedish massage; he probably never heard of Shiatsu. He was sneezing, coughing, sniffling, no relaxing music. As soon as we left, my eyes started itching - the next day I got an eye infection. Their "pool" didn't seem clean, so we didn't go in, and the only other place was a dry sauna that was manageable. For example, there are no longer robes, the shoes they give are old, and there was no active cleaning staff present from 10:45-2. In addition, I made an appointment, showed up, and they said no appointment was made. I showed them proof, my phone call from my cell. Nope, no concession, no apology, just staff chomping down there lunch. They wouldn't even let me sit in the waters as an apology in between the appointment I had on that side of town. I believe in giving second chances, especially after someone from the business contacts me to make their wrong right. In the past, I voiced my concerns and someone reached out to me, from this business, to rectify the issue. However, when I come back to patronize your business, don't take me and my money for granted, especially if your business isn't offering the stellar services like it did in the past. After the COVID pandemic, I returned to this spa for service. Like many other businesses, the prices increased. I understand increasing your prices to be aligned with inflation. On the contrary, I don't understand why you'd implement a new policy requiring your customers to provide a credit card over the phone if they want to make an appointment, especially existing customers that have patronized your business for years. Many people, myself included, are very concerned about providing privileged information over the phone. There appears to be no exceptions to this new policy, as I've called and left several messages with the front desk staff for the owner to return my call but I've never received a return call. If any business can't respect you as an individual, please don't patronize that business with your money. To increase the costs of services, but not the level of service, is not a good course of action for any business. I've overlooked other issues at this spa because my massage therapist is professional and does a great job. But, I will not be providing my credit card information over the phone to reserve a spa appointment. If anything, a savvy business owner would have a system that will allow the business to retain the customer's credit card info on file, with the customer's approval, and simply have the credit card information truncated in the system. I hate for some of the workers to lose out on tips, as I'm sure some people aren't willing to make a spa appointment over the phone, with a stranger, and providing their credit card info. It's rather strange for a business owner to not return calls from customers. If you're that busy, have a member of your staff return the call on your behalf. Customer service seems to be something of the past. Well, no customer service often leads to no customers. read more

I have been coming here for many years. Although it's not as popular as was formerly, I love the quiet, no talking policy, as you immerse yourself in the hot springs and ice cold plunge. The steam room is my favorite. I like that they adhere to traditonal shower before/after steam/sauna/treatments which make sense to keep all clean. I get the Shiatsu from SY...don't know her name but she does understand when I point out knee issue, or "not too hard" this time- I must say she is ultra skilled. (I know after many years of shiatsu for my scoliosis). I find the vibe absolutely wonderful, especially love the "QUIET" than is enforced. I didn't know this little oasis which is LA's only natural hot spring existed until a friend told me. For $55 you get two hours access to the spa which is all naked. Or free access when u book a treatment. I came in under duress. I was feeling myself get sick not with a communicable disease but with my heavy metal toxicity that's been fucking me up. Like liver problems you know? I was driving and falling asleep from it almost and I happened to be in k town and thought it wise to go get my sweat on somewhere. I paid $55 took my shower went into the grotto and was feeling an instant relief. I tried to shock it out in the cold dip but I just can't that is way too cold for me. I fell asleep in the chairs and kept dipping in and out of the water and the steam room and almost felt better when I left. But not totally. Last time I got that way I was sick for three weeks. This time only three days. Anyway the only thing annoying about this spot is the women keep coming in and yelling out ppls names who booked treatments. It's so harsh against the relaxing landscape. There's got to be a better way to do this? Like don't let people go into the grotto until after their treatment? Idk but that's a total vibe slayer and the more ppl that are there the more often someone's calling someone's name. We're supposed to speak in hushed voices says the sign and then some woman is yelling "KATIE ARE YOU KATIE?!" I am not Katie bro! This is the only complaint I have. And the Cold dip is too cold. But I'm giving five stars anyway cuz I am too prone toward guilt to give four stars. read more

I love hot springs and soaking in hot spring water so I really wanted to like this place since it's the closest to me, but unfortunately the vibes were just not right. The front desk, and most of the attendants were very nice but one attendant in particular made it very stressful as she would come in every 10 minutes, stare, and then go back. At one point she accosted my friend for wearing women's swim trunks, repeatedly asking if they are for swimming. My friend confirmed that yes, they are just trunks, and she said she would see what her manager had to say. It made us anxious the rest of the time there that the manager was going to come and kick us out because my friend wasn't wearing bikini bottoms. It's just annoying because I know what she had on is almost identical to what the men are probably wearing on their side. The posted rules were also a bit confusing. There are a million signs and some say different things from each other, the only one specifying to shower after each sauna use is above the water cooler, and there's another random sign asking to put your hair in the hair net. We wanted to be respectful and follow all the rules but it's hard when they're not all in one cohesive place. It made the experience more stressful than relaxing. The good about the place though is the mineral water feels great, the rock facade is dated but charming in its own way. The steam rooms feel great. I think the cold plunge temperature could stand to be upper a few degrees as it was the coldest one I had ever been in, but could be really appealing to some people. read more

First time and probably my last.... Here are my take aways, let's start with the good. Pros: nice decor. Friendly staff. Seating area in the men's area is comfortable. Really large hot tub. Mineral water makes the skin feel silky. Cool zen rock garden thing to look when in the hot tub. Dry sauna has a unique wooden seating area where you can sit in a reclined position. Very comfortable. Ice plunge is super cold. Cons: spa area needs work on esthetics. Stained ceilings and walls. Steam sauna is super small. Maybe 4-5 guys max. Dry sauna also small 4-5 guys max. Scrub was good but the area where it was dine felt dirty. No coed area. No restaurant. 2 hr time limit because of how small it is. $45 entry which is more than other spots and not as nice. Overall decent experience. I wouldn't come back only because there are better ones out there for less. read more

A friend and I went here last Sunday for body scrubs. We both have been many times before and have never had a problem. This time was very different. We both have suffered from severely broken out and infected looking skin. I don't know if the tools they used weren't clean but something was clearly wrong. The itching has been terrible. Love the hot spring pool environment so much- it's a real escape and super relaxing. We went at a not busy time early on weekday. This is a small spa with only a large hot pool, cold pool, steam sauna and relaxation space, no mineral or ice rooms. The basic body scrub is excellent and did the trick, just know it's basic no frills. There are other recommended treatments. Will be back for sure. read more

The Beverly Hot Springs has been my blessing for over 25 years now. I am considered 'one of the regs'. Love all the staff and the owners. Angela the Manager, is a kind, wonderful human being. She's fair and very personable but she will enforce the Spa rules if needed which has been put in place since the beginning the doors of the Spa were opened. There are absolutely no electronics of any kind permitted in the Spa area. There are signs posted everywhere about this and also no loud speaking in the Spa area as well. You will be asked to leave if you do not comply. That's fair considering you're there to relax right? The Beverly Hot Springs is considered a 'High End Spa' so there are many celebrities who do attend which is why they have to be extra mindful of their safety and privacy -- but really these rules are set in place for everyone's personal enjoyment and pleasure . I love that this place has actual springwater! They are small as compared to some of the other big Korean spas... only one sign at one steam room, one pool, and one cool dip in the women's section. Both times I've gone I've gotten services, and love them. I got the scrub with the oil massage and it came with a small facial with cucumbers all over my face and also a milk bath, and hair shampoo and condition. Best part was the scalp massage! Well thank the gods Beverly Hot Springs is back on a normal schedule. They're answering the phone for appointments and bodywork is staffed up. I've been back a handful of times this year and every time has been great! Prices on bodywork have gone up, it's true everywhere. Expect to spend between $105-125 for a 50-minute deep tissue or Shiatsu massage, and if you're rolling large tack on an add-on service like a scrub, reflexology or facial/haircare. The client load is still sparse, which i love, tho it's gotta be hard for therapists and it gets a tad busy after 4. It's usually pretty easy to get an appointment and some days I have the pools to myself for an hour. Heaven! read more

It does look like it's seen better days but we're coming off a couple years of mandatory closures so not surprised there has probably been some cost cutting. I found it a decent experience. Quiet. This is my new favorite place! Seriously, soaking in hot mineral water in a cave with waterfalls is one of the best things EVER! I deal with chronic pain from a neurological disorder, and between the soak and the shiatsu massage I had, I was feeling NO pain for about 24 hours. The lady who did my massage was warm and friendly and really knew what she was doing. The lady at the window who gives you your towels & hair net (Maria) was super sweet and really helped me to feel comfortable my first time at this facility.
