Mr. Jin is a true professional and a craftsman. I called him about fixing our WiFi door lock, and he not only arrived quickly, but took it upon himself to swap out the component in the opposite door that had been poorly installed by the last locksmith (from a different company). Impressed, I called him back the next day to try to fix a wrought iron yard gate that had become so warped that it did not close, and whose lock was broken. Other vendors had refused to do the job, telling me it could only be done by a wrought iron specialist. Unfazed, Mr. Jin got some tools out of his truck, shaved the door down, installed the new lock (even color matching it), and it works beautifully. After having dealt with multiple well-intentioned vendors who ultimately couldn't get the job done, it was remarkable to see an expert just breeze through and do amazing work, making it look easy (which it isn't), and all with an evident sense of both pride and humility. I just bought my first home and I was hoping that everything after the purchase would go smoothly. It started with getting the locks changed. The locksmith showed up early, jumped out of his van, shook my hand and go to work. He changed three locks with no electricity (my fault it wasn't turned on yet.) so I held my phone light up for him to use and he knocked everything out including making a key for a lost door lock, AMAZING!!!!! Sometimes when you're going down to the laundry room you forget to grab your keys and lock the door behind you. (trust, its happened several times now.) I never got the name of the guy but I'm very pleased with the service. We asked him to come to burbank and replace three of the locks in a sliding doors (which is not an easy thing to do..). I sent this txt to Jim @ Beverly Locksmith as a follow up to his service as a cautionary tale for other consumers. Hi Jim u worked on my Honda trunk lock getting new lock this wk. Which will cost me $130. (Lock & installation) That means that whole thing is costing me $410. I am on a fixed income so this is no sml amount. When you quoted me $150 that was doable when u told me it would be a little bit more I mistakenly figured around $25 not $130 more which is alot not a little. I bring this to your attention that in the futute u need to tell the customer how much more. You did get the lever working for me and tried very hard to fix the lock and I appreciate it but the lock itself was NOT FIXED. Great vendor - we needed to change our mailbox lock after the previous tenants sent us the wrong keys. He quoted a very high price on the phone and I called another place that was high but less than him. When I sent him a text that I got a lower quote he quoted me $5 less than the new quote. So I went with him. But honestly I still felt it was a bit high. I was happy with his attitude and work. And he didn't charge me tax so for that reason I give him 5 stars.
