I was locked out from my apartment. Unfortunately it was during the weekend and my apartment manager wasn't able to help me. I yelped around and made few calls to find out what the average lockout service costs. If you are reading this, you are probably aware that they aren't cheap and some even charge you extra depends on the distance that they have to travel. My main decision was driven by his availability and the cost. It was about 65% cheaper than other locksmiths that I've called. We all want to pay less. He gave me 20 minutes estimates. His location was about 2 miles away, about 10 minutes if you drive. He arrived within 15 minutes and quickly unlocked my door. The whole process took less than 3 minutes. I was completely satisfied. What a nice guy. I recently lost all my mail keys and needed someone to replace the lock for the mailbox and give me plenty of new keys. I called Jin and he arrived 20 minutes later, installed the lock in three minutes, and gave me two keys right then. I asked for three more and he said that he was out of blanks in his truck, but if I could stop by his shop later he would give them to me then. I had no problem doing this as I was heading that direction in the next hour anyway. When I came over, he greeted me with a warm smile and gave me an extra, fourth key free of charge. I paid $54 in total for the whole shebang and it was all extremely fast and efficient. Also, he was the first locksmith in my area to actually pick up the phone :-P My keys are a wee bit sticky, but they open my mail box with ease and I'm sure they'll soften up in no time. Around 8:30 am, I arrived home from working the night shift only to find that the lock to my condo was stuck/jammed and no amount of wiggling with my key could release it. I searched on yelp, found Jin's business, gave him a call, and he promptly answered his phone and subsequently provided text message updates on his ETA. He arrived within 20 minutes, troubleshooted for a little over 5 min, grabbed more necessary tools from his car, and was able to open my door and diagnose the problem. Jin came to rekey a lock for me that happens to be vintage and very difficult to work with. Trust me, I called around and other locksmiths wanted to charge quite a bit to work with this rare hardware, each citing the relatively unavailable parts and general difficulty in smithing around the dated lock itself. Jin showed up with everything necessary and expertly rekeyed the lock, leaving me with keys that work like new!(they are new, but you get the point) In addition to clearly knowing his craft, he's a personable guy with reasonable prices. So glad my neighbor gave me the number to Beverly Locksmith. We have been having a hard time unlocking the top lock of our front door and I had one task to find a locksmith to fix the door while my aunt was on vacation.
