They do a good job tailoring, at least with simple alterations but anything more complicated isn't their strong suit. The young woman that took care of me was as grumpy as grumpy gets and lacked any kind of imagination on how to alter a suit jacket. I happen to sew & I know it's not an easy alteration. I actually knew how to fix the jacket but her glib manner was so off putting, I made no suggestion. I tell ya, dealing with her made me feel guilty for even being there, so I just left. She was not helpful in any way, nor was she creative and perhaps not skilled enough for anything but simple hems & etc. At one point she suggested I go buy something else. Yep. I don't get why people have to whine so much. I walked in 10 minutes before he closes, which I NEVER DO. But I woke up crazy late dealing with all the insane customers I have to deal with on a daily basis and the guy asked me straight up what I wanted. I said can you fix the pockets on my leather jacket. He said yes. I said can you put in a thicker fabric. He said yes. I said how much. He said 50. I said ok. He said ill do it for 45. I said thanks. 5 days later I came in. I said I am here for the jacket. He offered some candy. I said no thanks not into candy but thanks. He said heres your jacket and what you asked for. I said thank you. And thats that. He or they did a great job. I praise this type of business. If you are straight forward and not an ass they will do it. Too many times people complain and give bad reviews when not necessary. My jackets fixed for less than what I was expecting and without asking he took 5 bucks off. Being straight forward and nice or direct goes a longer way than being a jerk. I give them a 5 star! And next time when you want to be a jerk, remember that these are the businesses that support your habits in life. I'd like to see you do what they do. After reading other reviews here, I decided to take two dresses to Ogden Tailors to get hemmed. It's not that the kimono-style dresses were particularly complex or had lots of embroidery or anything, but they were made from a material that doesn't take well to cutting and stitching. To my delight the work (done within 5 days) was impeccable. And only $36. I am absolutely coming here again -- now that age and wisdom has taught me that getting things nipped in here, pinned there, cut and redone, makes a world of difference to how you look and feel. Highly recommend Ogden Tailors. Oh and I also got some sweaters dry cleaned and they came back perfect and not smelling like they'd been saturated in chemicals. read more

I received my two dresses back, that had a lot of work done to them, fitting perfectly and within a very reasonable time frame. I needed a dress altered for a photoshoot without the model present for a fitting, and they did an absolutely amazing job - it fit perfectly. I called and the guy couldn't even give me a rough estimate on how much taking the hem up from a casual cotton summer dress would be and when I said I was driving from a ways away, he just hung up. When I called him back, he was equally rude. Coming from immigrant parents myself, I understand there can be a language barrier but he didn't not understand me, he was simply rude. Yesterday morning I accidentally ripped my pants at the gym before work. I heard from a coworker that this shop had its doors open at 8:45am. I showed up to see if they could help me and they did. They had my pants fixed and me out the door in less than 10 minutes. They only charged $5 for the emergency repair which I considered more than fair especially given the circumstances. Incredibly rude people. I came here to get a suit altered and I was very specific with the woman that my suit jacket was tight in the shoulders and upper back and needed a better drape. She said she would take out the entire seam by 1/2 inch allowing it to relax a little. I came back a week later and she had only taken the jacket out from below the shoulders. The drape of the back was better, but the shoulders and upper back were still tight. I explained this to her and then she said she couldn't do the shoulders. Really? I had a whole conversation a week earlier explaining what I wanted. If it couldn't be done, doesn't it make sense to tell me when I first came in? Then she said I never told her about the shoulders. At this point she's just lying. The main point of me coming in was the shoulders. I said I wouldn't pay for incomplete work. Then a man who is there, her husband I guess, grabbed my jacket from me and said it wasn't mine anymore if I wasn't going to pay. I Told him that if they couldn't do the job that I had discussed a week earlier then I am getting ripped off. If they had told me at the time that they couldn't do the work, then I would not have left the jacket with them and I would've returned it to the store. So basically they wanted to charge me $60 for incomplete work and then lied about what we had discussed. Oh yeah, then the guy told me to "shut up, I've been here 15 years". Which is surprising given their very low level of concern for the customer and doing the job that was agreed upon. I can not recommend this business after my bad experience there. They made no effort at all to fix the problem. read more

Do not go here for alterations. My boyfriend told me to go here because I should support local business and it was the biggest mistake I could have ever made. The woman who "altered" my new suit totally BUTCHERED my new suit and made it essentially unwearable that to-date i need to take elsewhere to be fixed. When i put it on, it was clear that it looked terrible but she fought with me over fixing it. She refused to take-in the top half of the pant legs to match the bottom part that she took in so the thigh area is way too baggy in comparison to the tighter lower half of the pants. Further, she had the audacity to accuse me of gaining weight since she measured me (7 days prior) because she took-in the suit jacket so much that neither i nor she could even get it to button. She charged me $60.00 to ruin my suit. She has a HORRIBLE attitude in that she is RUDE and INATTENTIVE and she rushed me in and out all 3 times I had to come here. read more

Time and time again, I fall victim to the convenience of their location. I always end up in a rage and completely disappointed. My last experience was the final straw. I brought my drapes to be DRYCLEANED. I paid $72 dollars for DRYCLEANING. I was amazed to get them home and find they had shrunken up 3-6 inches because they had been washed. Why did I pay $72 to have them washed? I could have washed them myself! When I called to discuss this matter I was told to bring them back to be REWASHED and stretched. All I wanted was drycleaning. I wanted my money back and was told that I would not be reimbursed. Huh. This is the kind of customer service I have experienced in the past at Ogden Cleaners. They are the worst and I need to spread the word. read more

I came here from really far away to get my wedding suit tailored, because they came highly recommended from Donnie, the men's stylist from the J. Crew Men's Store at The Grove. Apparently they were asked by J. Crew to be the official tailor shop of J. Crew, but they declined because it would make them TOO busy, and they didn't want to overload themselves and end up skimping on quality. That's how you know a business is legit, when they actually decline business in order to keep up quality control. This place is owned by a very nice Korean family who didn't just randomly buy a tailor and cleaners shop to just run it half-heartedly. The older gentleman didn't speak much, but asked me what I wanted, showed what would look better, and allowed me to make my decision. The tailoring cost me $60, which is very fair for the work you get. I've been to tailors that would've cost me half the price, but I ended up spending more to fix the shoddy workmanship that they subjected my suits to. When I came back to try on my suit, it was as if it was handcrafted specifically for me, and it felt fantastic. Thanks to Ogden and Donnie at J. Crew, I looked even flyer at my wedding than I normally do. If you're in the area, stop wasting your time looking for a tailor and just come here. read more

I'm writing this review sadly about my alterations place that me and my boyfreind have been using for over 3 years... I needed to get my simple wedding dress altered so OF COURSE I didn't think about it twice and I took it to these guys right away. He measured, marked and pinned my dress for the alterations on a Saturday and said it would be ready for pick the following Saturday, a FULL WEEK. I get a phone call on the following Friday, late afternoon asking if I can come in because the marks on my dress weren't visible and they can't alter my dress.. I'm at work so no I wasn't able to come in in the next hour that they were open. They had my dress for 7 days and the day before they're calling to tell me they haven't even started on it yet?!?!? Very upsetting being as they knew it was for my wedding.. Luckily I was ahead of schedule on getting it altered BUT what if I needed it that next day for my wedding?!? Awful feeling.. Nonetheless, I told them the earliest I could come in was that next morning when they opened. I went in and told them how I was upset and the gentleman yelled at me "I called yesterday and you said you couldn't come in!!" Then his wife just shoved the dress in my face and kept saying "Go put it on, go put it on!" I reluctantly walked into the dressing room to "put it on" and I felt like I did something wrong.. I suddenly realized that this is just really bad bad energy to put into what should be such a beautiful moment and process.. I grabbed my dress and left and not one sorry, goodbye, let me fix it, anything.. I was left to feeling like I was the problem. Unfortunately I won't be returning to this place.
