We used BevMo for all our wedding beverage needs and it made everything so much easier! They have everything you need for a good party, non alcoholic drinks, ice delivery, beer kegs, buckets, etc. And everything is at a great price too! They also do free delivery if you hit their quota. A few days ago I went in to purchase two bottles of tequila and more Everclear ( I make lemon-cello) and upon check-out I was asked to show my driver license. "Kind of sily don't you think", I said to the clerk, "I'm 51 years old". He responded with, "Oh well, my manager said that anybody that looks younger than her has to show ID". I said OK. I flipped open my wallet to show my license (under the plastic flap), and he says "You have to take it out". I said no, you can see it just fine the way it is,, it's kind of stuck in there under the plastic. Then with a chuckle he says, "If I cant SCAN your driver license I can't sell anything to you". .............. WTF??? Are you kidding me? I left and bought by stuff down the street. I will not, ever, go into a BevMo again if SCANNING MY DRIVER LICENSEis a condition. read more

We had a lovely time planning the drinks for our upcoming wedding. Ken was very knowledgable and helpful. He is a total expert and guided us through the process from tasting wines, to selecting the final beer/wine/champagne, then determining the quantities, and finally planning the delivery. I went into this store for the second time ever and was so disappointed in their customer service that I will not return. I was looking to purchase multiple bottles. One of which was a bottle of Blueberry Stoli. When checking the prices, the 1/2 gallon Stoli Blueberry was flanked by 750ml bottles. Blueberry on one side and a different flavor on the other side. The two flanking price tags said $18.95 and the middle tag for the larger bottle said " $22.95". I thought it was a great deal so I put it in my basket and bought it. When I left the store I looked at my receipt because I felt like I had paid too much. Sure enough they had charged me $36.95 for the bigger bottle of Stoli. When I went in and pointed it out to the person that checked me out, I think he was the manager, we went over and looked at the tag under the big bottles of Stoli and sure enough the tag said "$22.95". However, he tells me the tag was for a different and smaller bottle of Stoli, and proceeds to hide that tag behind the tag next to it. No tag anywhere said "$36.95". Instead of honoring the labeled price, which is the experience that I've had other places when they've mislabeled or the mistake has been theirs, he did nothing. Well, actually he asked me if I wanted to keep the bottle or return it. I kept the bottle at the higher price, but today when I go out to buy a nice bottle of tequila, it won't be at this store. read more

If I could give this BevMo infinite number of stars I would. I was coordinating a wedding and there weren't enough drinks ordered for the day. I called them a couple hours before the event would begin and Nick and Mariah were so helpful with getting an emergency order in for us. With so many choices on where to buy beer and wine I the area, bevmo would be my last choice. The service is pretty iffy. I once went in and pulled a bottle of wine to buy. The price was marked on the shelf but when I went to check out it scanned higher. The clerk tried to tell me it was a different vintage. The only problem was the sign did not have a vintage on it. It was like trying to pull teeth to get them to honor the posted price. Just how a big corporate store lacks in the customer service end. Also all the wines seem to be the brand you see everywhere. Not a whole lot of anything special. read more

I recently bought a bottle of wine there that the sign with it said had a Spectator Rating of 95. That would be an excellent bottle. However, when I checked with Wine Spectator, I found it was really rated 77--pretty bad. When I complained to the manager all I got was a shrug of the shoulders. At the very least I was expecting an apology. So this was either a case of deliberate false advertising or an honest mistake. But no apology? I wonder how many other inaccurate ratings are posted by their wines. read more

I love this store it's my go to, but today on my birthday I encountered a very rude sales cashier, I didn't remember the phone number I normally use & he gave me a hard time when I was just trying to get myself a bottle of wine I was having a very pleasant day till I came across this individual who frankly put a thumbs down on my day he was an older man in the first register closest to the entrance very rude & would only give me a new card if I would give the right number which I've always given. It was just a very awkward position he put me through when there was customers waiting to be rung out other days I wouldn't make a big deal but cmon it's my birthday ! read more

to me its all about variety. Bev Mo has it. Of course it will never be as cheap as we want it to be, but thats the way the world works. I was living on the Eastside when they moved in. The Capitola Police Chief actually fought for them to move in...they are not a shady liquor store...they sell caviar (roughly in his words). Pretty cramped, but they have/HAD weekly tastings. Good SC selection and lower prices than we have at our BevMo in SF. read more

The service and planning help we received from the Capitola Bevmo manager and staff were outstanding. They helped us plan the kind and amount of beverages needed for a 3-day weekend wedding held at a site in Ben Lomond. We selected from an excellent variety of the high-quality California wines and sparkling wines, top British cider and ale, and excellent California beers that we wanted to serve over the weekend. The choices for non-alcoholic sodas, sparkling water and juices was all we needed. Our order was delivered promptly to the mountain site, and Bevmo staff cheerfully drove around to different lodges to store the ice in freezers scattered around; they hauled and set up the first night's keg down a path to a meadow. Bevmo allowed us to easily return the empty kegs (and un-used purchases) to a Bevmo store more convenient to us. All of this at discounted prices! We would happily work with them again in the future. read more
