Because a few fellow beer snobs aka friends, live down in South Orange County, I've made my way to the Ladera Ranch Bevmo location a few times to pick up craft beer for some get togethers. This last time, it was to pick up a six pack of Lagunitas' Undercover Shut Down Investigation. After reading the story behind how the name came to be, I had to find some to try. Anyway, I don't mind this location though it still doesn't compare to another store to whom my liver belongs to. There's a decent selection of beer, wine and spirits and the staff is pretty friendly and helpful. Though I do prefer another store, this location hasn't let me down yet ...

No surprise it's a three star rating. They did not offer us a return on a product recently bought. Very unfriendly and strict. Rather buy from another store and don't give these guys a chance. I spend about 3-4K a year there. Done, no more

Walked into the store to purchase lots of alcohol but you denied me because I wasn't wearing a mask! Did you not get the memo that masks are NO LONGER NEEDED in Orange County? Known for their variety and quantity of alcoholic beverages, Bevmo also sells premium cigars. They have a pretty decent variety of high quality cigars at a very affordable rate. For example, just bought a Rocky Patel The Edge maduro for $7.99. read more

I have been a patron here for many years. I recently lost my id and have had to use my passport as a form of ID. I have never had any other store give me trouble for using my passport as much as this store has. The managers usually come up check my id and let me be on my way. Today with my daughter by my side the manager came up looked me up and down and then asked me my age in an accusatory tone. The cashier could tell I was slightly irritated and told me its for auditing purposes. I call BS, I'm sorry but I come here at least a few times a week and have never had someone ask me my age, you have my passport in front of you, that is not necessary at all. It's very embarrassing to sit at the front waiting for a manager and then have someone speak to me as if I'm doing something wrong. Not very happy with the store right now and don't know if I will bring my business here in the future. read more

One of the worst customer service I've ever had in my life. The manager did not price match Total Wines in the correct amount and also chose to not price match a separate item with a seemingly made up excuse. Once I realized their mistake after leaving the store, I went over to the Bevmo in RSM and they were much more courteous and accommodating. They were able to correct the error of the incorrect amount and were also able to price match the other item the previous manager claimed was "excluded". read more

Got help here from store manager, Raphael. Wonderful customer service! I needed to ship a bottle of Dom to Northern California for next day delivery, and I was able to bring it in and have them do it for me. Raphael contacted UPS, and packaged up the Dom for me and sent it out. Great experience, I will definitely come back here! read more

Dear Bevmo - Well you didn't have a couple of things that I saw online that I wanted, but your selection seems great and your all male staff was very friendly. I know I was in a bit of a rush, so couldn't browse as much as I wanted to, but I do want to go back to see what I can find. I did go home happily with a bottle of, er something, but now that I have a club card I can't really not come here otherwise it'll get stale in my wallet, right? I don't like the taste of much that you offer yet (um, anything with alcohol) but your store is so brightly lit and with lots of pretty shiny bottles that I will be great expensive fun trying to find something that will tickle my buds. You won't find a better selection than BevMo. Lot's of beers, wines, spirits, and sodas. But you will find better prices. Sale prices can be good but everything else is on the high end of the price scale. You will find brands you've never heard of before which can make browsing fun. read more

I live in RSM, but I drive to this bevmo rather than go to the store in RSM. They have a bigger selection here and the employees here have way better customer service. The difference in quality between these two stores makes it worth driving here to me. read more

Wow! First time I've ever shopped at BevMo and was so impressed with the entire experience. The inside of the store was laid out well, open and well organized. We were only shopping for wine but they had some wonderful sales and we purchased more than we planned. It was nice to know they also had snacks along with the huge selection of beer, wine and liquor products. read more

I recieved terrible customer service at this location. I'm not completely sure what the mans name is, but he's tall, thin, wears glasses, and has facial hair. If you're having a bad day then stay away from customers. If you think your job sucks then get a better one. If you don't like me because of my skin color then hide it a little more. It doesn't matter what the reason may be... always, ALWAYS, provide at least "decent" customer service to everyone. read more

I wish I can put negative stars. This store is ridiculous. I went in to buy a soft drink. A SOFT DRINK! and they kicked me out for not being 21. If they want only 21 year olds in there then don't have non alcoholic beverages. This store needs to get their act together pronto. read more

Always a great experience when I come to this store! Rafael and the rest of the Ladera Ranch team do a great job in making your shopping experience enjoyable, and they are always friendly and willing to give great suggestions.The Friday night beer tastings and Saturday afternoon wine tastings with Bert are so fun! Such great deals on wine w/ the 5 cent wine deals...and every couple of months I seem to get $20 off $100 or more coupon in the mail which is awesome because I always tend to buy around $100 worth of wine when I go there. It's like free money! Bert, really knows his wine there and is always willing to help you find a great bottle and show you some new stuff. Bert also does a wine/beer tasting on Saturdays from 2-5pm too which is awesome. You can try all kinds of drinks and there is cheese and crackers and other little snacks and you get to meet some great people. read more

Bert is that go to person....he is a sommelier so he definitely knows a lot about wine but, more importantly, he listens to what we like (and don't like) and has been very successful in helping us discover a lot of great new wine..... read more

Unfortunately my visit to BevMo wasnt the best. i went in thinking there would be a bigger wine selection like in the other BevMos i had been to, but that wasnt the case. I am not one to give poor reviews on Yelp however I shop (and spend a lot of money) at various Bevmo's near my home in SJC. Tonight I went to the branch in Ladera and was blown away by the lack of customer service (and I am one that doesn't need a whole lot). I went to grab my regular brand of Port wine (yes I love Port) and to my surprise it was locked up behind the glass. I typically buy Taylor-Fladgate 10 yr and/or 20 year. We are not talking about a bottle of King Louis, Johnny Walker Black, or Dom Parignon here. We are talking about a $35 to $50 bottle(s) of Port wine here. I can't see thieves stealing $35 bottles of Port wine but what do I know. Who decided to put that behind glass??? I have never seen them locked behind the glass but oh well I'll just get the guy with the keys...easier said than done. No one around but the two girls ringing up a couple customers, a dude sitting in the little manager vestibule, and NO ONE ELSE!!! I have never seen this with BevMo before. There are usually tons of knowledgeable and helpful folks to help but I wound up waiting 20 minutes for the guy in the managers vestibule to go out and open the glass so I can grab my bottle and be on my way. He never did open it and now I am drinking some crap that I had no choice but to buy CUZ MY $35 BOTTLE WAS LOCKED BEHIND THE GLASS AND NO ONE WAS AROUND TO OPEN IT!!! I could go on but it's likely a waste of time because it's clear the employees there have no idea (or maybe don't care) how to run a retail business or provide an adequate level of service. I am truly dumbfounded and very annoyed. Please Corporate BevMo, get this Manger some training on basic retail and customer service. Sorry to have to write this but I was that frustrated. I guess now I'll be enjoying 2 bottles of crappy Port tonight. read more

Wow! This place is the bomb! They have enerything you would ever need to quench your alocohol thirst. They have some super sweet deals on a frequent basis so I recommend asking one of the crew members what deals of the day they are running that day so that you dont over pay. The employees are very attentive and educated on liquor which is definitely a plus! Wish I had found this place sooner! Tip-check the expiration date on everything before purchasing! read more

Based on what happened to me, I personally suspect fraudulent activity may have occurred. Whether it was an error or something more serious, an unauthorized charge of this size is unacceptable. Until this issue is fully resolved, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this business to others.

I mix them, half and half of each to create my "special blend" coffee. We got four (4) of them tonight with our grocery. I use these milk's instead of water to make my coffee in the morning and it is so good (taste and health wise). Ralph's has good prices on these milk when they put them on sale every few weeks. But this review is for the Supervisor at the self-checkout. He is always so nice and helps us out when there are issues with our purchases. I forget to look at his name tag earlier but it's the gentleman with dark (almost black) and curly hair. Always has a smile when dealing with customers. My fiancée and I came to Ralphs late at night specifically to buy baby formula. The store was doing…read morefloor work, which wasn't really my issue. The problem was that the formula we needed was locked up, and an employee who was standing right there refused to help us get it. The formula was clearly visible and easily accessible to staff, but instead of assisting us, we were essentially told no because of the area being partially blocked off. As parents trying to buy an essential item for our baby, that was incredibly frustrating. I understand stores have policies and construction projects, but when a customer needs baby formula and an employee could easily retrieve it, refusing to help is poor customer service. We left feeling like helping customers was less important than avoiding a minor inconvenience. If you're going to keep a store open during maintenance, employees should still be willing and able to help customers access essential items.
