I am so very happy to have a Stater Bros. in my neighborhood! The store is well-managed, and the entire team is kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I especially want to thank Octavio and the butcher team. I had a specific order that I requested around 7:00 a.m. Octavio asked for my name and told me it would be ready around 8:00 a.m. I even tried to tell him not to worry about it and that I would just request it when I returned later. I ended up coming back around 11:00 a.m., asked about my order, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it had been filled and was ready for me! What amazing customer service and follow-through! Honestly, I shouldn't have been surprised because the butcher team consistently comes through for all of my requests--whether it's specific pork chops, burger grind, or other special cuts. The entire Stater Bros. team consistently exceeds my expectations. I even witnessed a manager helping the restocking team. When someone thanked him, he simply said, "I'm helping out." I have been shopping at Stater Bros. for over 25 years, and I am so grateful we finally have the Ladera location. It is wonderful to see several familiar employees here whom I recognize from other stores. The entire management team is exceptionally friendly. The store manager, Jason, is one of the most professional and welcoming managers I have ever encountered. Maurice, the previous manager, is also fantastic. I have never had a single issue at this store; the entire staff is wonderful. On top of the great service, Stater Bros. consistently offers the best prices of any grocery chain. My grown children now shop at Stater Bros. as well, and I am certain this tradition will pass down to their own children. Highly recommended! read more

Do not buy the chicken. I've been shopping here for about 2 years and for the first year it was fine, but over the last year I've had to bring chicken back about 10 times. And it's not like it's borderline or about to spoil. I open it up when I get home and it is completely open a window or you'll throw up rancid. I can tell the butchers know about it too because when I tell them they give me the worst attitude. I told them they keep selling me rancid meat and they should check it. They said "dont tell me how to do my job". I bought some spoiled lamb and the butcher told me that lamb always smells bad and I should to rinse it off. What?!? I know what lamb smells like. I know what rotten meat smells like. Rinsing it does not make it safe. I've given them too many chances and I'm done. I talked to the managers. I talked to the butchers. I even filed a report with the USDA. Nothing has changed. I'm surprised they don't have health code violations. read more

I am unable to speak with the store manager since the system is out of order for a month now. Want to report problems with my orders: wrong items, some items packed incorrectly causing damage to the items like eggs all broken, bananas bruised to name a few. Ordered 2 prime steaks which I was charged for but never received. Don't know if that was an ordering problem or a delivery issue. I am disappointed with the service and not being able to resolve these issues at store level. Rudest man - Mark. His light was on and as I was behind a man he was helping, I unloaded my groceries and he glared at me. He said after I unloaded, I wasn't open but I guess I have to take you. I said, I'm sorry, Your light was on. He said, no it wasn't. But it was on right in front of him. I said, I can leave if you're going to be this rude. I almost walked out. I avoid him since this isn't the first time he was been so rude. But I had so few items and he was in express and I thought maybe he just had bad days a few times. My family and I went to see the cars on display in the parking lot and then we decided that it would be a fantastic day to barbecue. So we strolled over to Stater Brothers. They had this amazing display of steaks and seafood, right when you walk in the door. There are no Stater Brothers in Los Angeles, and I was blown away by the cleanliness and friendliness of every employee in the store! I mean the employees actually asked if they could help us find something! So appreciated. We finished our shopping and got in line. All the aisles were about even so we settled in. Our lane was moving really quick! When we got to the front of the line, Linda was our cashier, and she was so super friendly! She asked us if we had a phone number with us and I was confused because I had no idea what she was talking about. Club card? She said don't worry I'll take care of it. She said she'd put in a number for us and that she would circle on our receipt a website where we could go to sign up & it wasn't a club card. She joked we don't believe in clubs because all are welcome. She asked us about our plans for the day, what we were making, and I explained how we recently moved to the area, and she welcomed us to Stater's. I mean, her hands were moving as fast as her mouth, and as someone who originally grew up on the East Coast, it was awesome!! I could not believe how friendly she was! We later got together with some friends, and they also said that they loved Stater Bros. and in fact knew who Linda was! They also said she was really efficient and quick!! They told us that the meat was the best they had ever had and all the employees went out of their way to help. I am so happy I found this store. read more

The rudest cashier-an elderly man named Mark. He was so miserable and rude to me. He never even said hello. All he said was "Give me your bags!" He then put every heavy item in one bag. I had to take half of the items out and put them in another bag. As I continued to bag my other items, he would not put on the belt to move the items towards me. I had to ask him to move the items down the belt and he acted like I was annoying him by having him do his most basic job. He clearly hates his job. Maybe the management is terrible and this causes Mark to be miserable. I have contacted the corporate office regarding this. We spend so much money at that store and there is no reason for such a miserable man to be working there. I will never go back to that store. It's just not worth it. Do your customers a favor and let Mark go. read more

BEST GROCERY STORE EVER! Always well stocked. Always. Even Christmas Eve. ;) I feel like they work very hard to treat shoppers well. I always see staff walking around. Plenty of people to ask questions to. I also appreciate that they are very well staffed. Even on Christmas Eve morning (my most recently shopping experience), there were plenty of cashiers working. Another bad experience with Linda. How does this woman still have a job in customer service. Someone needs to tell her that disciplining employees in front of customers is a huge no no. She tells across the checkout lanes in a loud voice. She is rude as hell. I refuse to use her lane ever if it's the shortest. Gee I wonder why? Her coworkers can't stand her either. I drive 8 miles to this store rather than 2 miles to get to Pavilions in Rancho Santa Margarita near me, primarily because Stater Bros. has excellent pricing, the store is clean and well stocked, and they have what I need. I have a good friend who also goes to this store rather than a Pavilions in Mission Viejo less than a mile from his house for the same reasons. The people at the store are amicable and I like shopping there. I only wish they had a store in RSM. read more

Just want to review Linda and say how friendly and efficient she always is. She's one of the best checkers at the store with excellent customer service. We are always happy to see a welcoming and friendly smile when she's working. She never fails to acknowledge us if she sees us. Love having a chat with her, but am also very impressed with how she can always chat to customers and keep the checkout lines moving along very quickly. I believe that's very important in a store. Most people just want to get what they need and checkout quickly, and she definitely makes that happen. She's a hard worker and in my eyes a role model for many other employees. My concern is not that I get a $1 back it's how many others will be taken advantage of when thinking they were getting a sale price. Checkers are always hit and miss here. The checkers you have in the morning during the week are great. During the weekends or afternoons not so much. I went today 11/9/2025 and when it came to my turn your Checker Justin didn't even bother to greet me. Then when he was getting to the last part of my items he started grabbing from the lady's stuff behind mine after the divider. I stopped him and said no that's not mine thats hers. He just glared at me, didn't even apologize for what he was doing. His expression said it all, I could tell he was mad that I stopped him. He was not really paying attention to what he was doing. He didn't apologize or anything. He finished my order handed me my receipt and kept going. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I know its tough working in retail. I did it for ten years, maybe he was having a bad day. However, this is a reoccuring theme with the checkers here. All of them are too busy and some just don't even acknowledge their customers. I wanted to have two loaves of Bread sliced. At the bakery/meat department a young man said that the person who could help me is on a 10 minute break. So, I said I would wait. 10 minutes later someone showed up. As the person I was waiting for was walking passed me, the young man at the bakery or meat department told him that I was waiting for him ... The man I waited for for 10 minutes did not even turn to me but mumbled to his coworker that he needs to go to his car. Again he did not even acknowledge my existence. He just left the store without saying when he would be back. I gave up on waiting for him. I left the bread on the bakery counter. I came to the cash register where a person started packing my stuff into a plastic bag without asking me if I wanted plastic bags ... I said: "No bags, please". The man looked at me in utter confusion. So, I said: "Please, just put it in the cart". To that he told me: "you can have this one bag free of charge". I THOUGHT THAT NOT USING BAGS WAS CONNECTED TO THE ENVIRONMENT NOT TO CONSUMERS' ABILITY TO PAY!? Stater brothers in Ladera Ranch is probably my favorite grocery store to frequent due to the large aisles as well as probably the largest meat counter i have seen in a store chain. Where many grocery stores in the area have small meat counters or they are located in strange parts of the store this location of stater Bron has it in the back and it us HUGE. Itis perhaps so large they may need a ticketing system to process people in the order that they arrive because in absence of this and on crowded days it can become tough to manage. Aside from their vast meat selection they have decent produce and other grocery store staples and the staff is always kind and helpful and aisles are labeled clearly making it a relatively stress free place even during the busiest of times. Highly recommend this place to visit if looking for groceries without the feeling of claustrophobia :-) read more

A few employees here always go above and beyond whenever I am in the store Tracy, Carter, Dakota, John S, and Antonio at the registers are always super helpful and I love to see them whenever they are working! However there is one lady at the front who I avoid at all costs, her name is Linda and she is one of the rudest people I have ever met within the realm of customer service. She was very short with me, rolled her eyes when I asked a question and just a sad human being. They way she yells at the staff in front of customers is beyond uncomfortable l, I feel bad for the hard workers I see her harass there. Ladera Ranch, Ca. location has an amazing staff and stellar customer service. On December 23, 2022, I sent my husband to get a prime rib for our Christmas dinner. He successfully returned with a full rib roast. Unfortunately, he did not know that it would require trimming, cutting off the ribs, and tying them back on! I returned to the store with the roast and Jesse was able to correct my problems with the rib roast! Jesse saved the Christmas Day Dinner! Kudos for Jesse for doing the extra and making our family's dinner special. This dinner was very well received, since 2020 and 2021were cancelled because of Coronavirus and my brother's cancer diagnosis. This Christmas, my brother was able to join us, cancer-free and was craving my usual - Stater Bros Prime Rib! Thanks to Jesse and Stater Bros, we will always have this memory. One of my friends was hosting a "succulent" theme baby shower and the mother-to-be had her heart set on succulent cupcakes for the dessert. A courtesy clerk named Mason referred me to the in-store bakery department and spoke very highly of the baker, Shawna. Not too long after, I went in-person to order the cupcakes and a friendly employee named Carter took my order. I provided some photos of sample cupcakes for Shawna and I could not have been happier with the results! The cupcakes were individual works of art and the pipping skills were impressive! The cupcakes not only looked amazing, but they were perfectly baked - light, moist, and fluffy. The cupcakes were a huge hit at the shower and brought a smile to everyone. Guests were taking pictures of the cupcake table to share with family and friends. Overall a wonderful experience! read more

I've been sold rotten meat 3 times now from the butcher. It's absolutely disgusting. The smell of the rotting meat made me gag. I've wasted my time going back and forth to return the rancid meat. Something needs to be done at this store to correct this issue. I will never be back. The health department should be notified of this. Also, some of the butchers are rude as hell. This supermarket is basically brand new inside and is beautiful! Everything inside is always fresh and at a fair price. They are always pretty well stocked! They are very helpful and always willing to help you find whatever you need. I also kitty love their selection at their meat department and sometimes go there just for that. Their peppercorn burgers are 4.99 a burger and are huge and so good! They have many more flavors in hamburgers. They also have many more chicken items and beef items and pork item. Some in marinades. Some in fajita mixes, some as shish kabobs. Their range is massive. Their deli Also is very nice, the only thing I don't like is it doesn't carry boars head brand meats. They have a small but very cute bakery. ( I do have to say I like pavilions bakery much better) But everything else is such a better price here for the exact same item, even half the price and then if you get it on sale or have a coupon you can really score.
