The great customer service and selection did it for me. Have people who are snobs about their drinks and the staff assisted in making a selection for each. This BevMo should be so much better! The one on Wilshire/La Brea is in such a cursed location and even that one is far better than this one. The parking lot alone is a mess. Not a whole ton they can do about this but they are really doing the bare minimum here. Turning in from the street is a nightmare and getting out back onto the street is even worse. I have lived in CA for a long time so I have seen my fair share of employees high at their jobs but sometimes these people cannot string two sentences together or keep their eyes open. Ordered here with Uber Eats the other day a six pack beers and one champaign. The very second I confirmed the order I realized that there was a wrong address. I tried to change address right away - it didn't allow me. I tried to cancel it, and it said that they will charge me a cancelation fee which was a full amount 60.69$. Uber Eats support said the can't do anything, because the store already accepted the order. This is ridiculous. I had to cancel it anyway, and they charged me 60 bucks for nothing. 1 star, and I never will order from them again. read more

What the hell is going on with the bathroom it's been out of order for over a year for customers shopping and your customer shop for over an hour you should have a working bathroom. Notice how I didn't deduct a star for the lack there a bathroom I just know that it's not a guarantee that it will be open when I shop there is a patron. The last five times I've been there I've allowed the gentleman to pick one new item for myself that I've never tried to add to my new bar, I was recently sent home with unaged whiskey which is see-through referred as "white dog" I'm afraid to try it lol so now it's just sitting pretty on my bar!!! read more

Of all the times I've been in here pre covid shopping and picking up an order that either myself or my girlfriend placed, I have yet to have a bad experience at this location before. Until just now. I think I was racially profiled by a young man named Roger. Asked for my ID twice and at first wouldn't allow me to take my order after I took it off their "pick-up" shelf without showing a conformation email. I didn't have since my girlfriend placed the order. But my name was on the slip for pick up. I held my frustration best I can while I was waiting for my girlfriend to send me the conformation email but I didn't like how this kid, that's what he was, made me feel highly uncomfortable. I live blocks away from this location but after that I definitely don't want to give them my business again. If you can, avoid this location. read more

Almost every place in LA that sells alcohol adds their own tax to the bottles making them even more expensive than they already are so I always find myself here. Ordered a nearly $100 bottle of wine as a gift for delivery. Paid extra for a gift bag and card. Had to follow up with Bevmo about delivery bc I didn't receive any notification. They responded that it was delivered, but offered no additional information. No info for who signed for it. Nothing. After 2 days, I sheepishly had to write the recipient to see if he received a gift and he said he had, but it had a blank card and didn't know who it was from. He sent me a photo, which I'm attaching here. Pretty embarrassing. Bevmo corporate could not have cared less. They thought refunding me $4 for the gift bag was good enough. All I wanted was for them to look into the delivery to make sure it was received and by whom, and they wrote back generic emails that offered me no reassurance. Will never shop at Bevmo again. Me and my wife have been regulars at this bevmo for years! The employees are always so kind and helpful and they have a great selection. However the last few times we have went to this location they were BLARING the loudest trashiest music. SO bad and SO loud we couldnt even hear ourselves think. We couldnt even hear ourselves when we were discussing which bourbon to purchase. This is a store not some nightclub? When i asked the girl in the front why they must play this awful music at this volume, her response was something like "its what corporate wants". I usually don't get too worked up about things but I truly hate and despise this company. Started using BevMo delivery in Los Angeles during quarantine. I've easily spent $1500-2000 with these rip off artists (no, I never claimed to be terribly bright) and I can't think of an order that didn't arrive without a problem attached. This morning I placed an order and right off the bat they're out of stock of almost everything I needed. Also, they did not honor the discount coupon they themselves emailed me this morning! When I do place an order it is almost always short. This happens over and over and yet 100% of the time I have been shorted a bottle or a mixer or whatever, never once has it been to my advantage. Always I'm shorted, not once has their mistake benefited me, it's always 100% been to BevMo's advantage. That's simply mathematically impossible unless you believe BevMo does this intentionally in an illegal act of theft for which they know you can ultimately do little about. They depend on their overwhelming size and national presence (which surely must also be illegal and a bad faith monopoly which must be broken up). Otherwise, no one would put up with their blatant dishonesty and open contempt for their us, their customers. Join with me BevMo haters! I am completely pleased with this establishment. I find it to be one of the most complete and comprehensive alcohol purchase/distribution facilities in LA. Their selection of wines and spirits is extensive. They even have some of the harder-to-find beverages like Cruzan Rum. If you haven't heard of it, it can probably be found on their shelves. Prices are reasonable and even better when you join their Free membership club. I recommend taking a pass by BevMo if you're stocking up for a party or just getting some wine for a dinner of two. never thought i'd write a review for bevmo but here i am lol. it's a pretty relaxed atmosphere with easy to browse aisles. the guys at the store were very helpful but i think they need a little bit more consumer training but nothing a little tweaking can't fix. what i really enjoyed was talking to, who i assume was, the manager and the security guard. they were both really funny, serviced my sister and i very well and gave us a great handoff to the door. they definitely made our night. overall, i mean, it's a place for booze, what more you could possibly ask for. the fact that they're out of inventory is not their fault, so you can't blame them?? they are the sellers not the producers of the product, but i guess people don't know how economics works, right? lol read more

I went into make a very large purchase for an upcoming event, and had tremendous help from the staff here. Going in, I thought I would be there for hours making selections, but thanks to an employee named Pete, I was out of there in less than an hour. BevMo is smart and lets their employees try a number of their wines, so Pete was able to speak from experience when I asked him questions about different varietals and brands. Super helpful. I told him what I was looking for and he guided me around the store. Very efficient. I also appreciated that he worked within my budget and wasn't trying to upsell me. He helped me to load my cart and also helped load my car. Excellent! I took full advantage of the five cent wine sale, and they were we're also doing a promotion for an additional 10% off if you sign up for text messages. The wines available for the five cent sale have grown in number significantly. There are definitely more choices today than there were in previous years. read more

Matt B. and I moved out of the Eastside recently, and without ready access to our regular hipster-oriented liquor stores, we weren't sure where we could get stuff like bitters or apertifs in our neighborhood. We still don't have a place right by us (we're between Hancock Park and K-Town, so if you have leads on this front, give me a holler), but BevMo! is close enough to our Trader Joe's that it's probably our new stop. I hadn't ever shopped at a BevMo! before, and I was amazed by my first visit to this location, to prep for our housewarming. I know it's a big chain liquor store, but it's kind of awe-inspiring in the way of a good Costco. We had a short shopping list--bitters and vermouth, I think, which we found readily--and we ended up buying a bunch of craft beers and a bottle of amaro we'd been contemplating for a while, as well as some handy mixers. The selection was great, with a wide range of price and quality, with some of the nicer stuff locked up behind glass (we had to pick up our amaro at the register). Pretty impressive beer selection, much of it refrigerated. As for the Mo! there were also tons of party and drinking supplies, plastic cups and napkins and more permanent accessories and glassware, as well as a large selection of party food. We went to TJ's before we came here and ran around the aisles picking up cheese and crackers and other lazy host snacks, and when we got to BevMo! all of these basics were in one party snack section. Would've saved some time if we'd come straight here. Prices were reasonable, parking was easy, and service was friendly, making this a smooth, convenient shopping trip. I still miss my Bar Keeper and Cap N' Cork, and will shop at these places whenever it makes sense, but I can't deny the power of BevMo! I'm sure we'll be back every time we throw a party. read more

This location is clean, well stocked and comes with it's very own parking lot. Service could have been a bit more helpful (I wasn't approached once to ask if I needed help and I sorta did) and friendly, but all in all, a quick shopping trip. Good prices and selection. They basically have everything you would need for an impromptu casual get together including a small cheese/snack section and enough beer and wine to satisfy a Monsters of Rock show (the good old days...). Twice I've gone in to that store looking for a specialty Rum and have been disappointed. I'm not sure which has a better selection I would imagine they both would be the same but I'm not sure. Pricing is the same at either store and parking is generally convenient at either location. It only takes me once or twice to become disappointed with one particular store location especially if they have multiple locations in the same general area. I don't mind driving an extra mile for the feng shui of the store and the availability of the items I'm looking for. read more

I have been coming here forever and have always enjoyed myself; however I will NEVER be visiting this location again. I am embarrassed to be writing this and am honestly very taken aback by the service here. When I first walked into the store the security guard (another black man) came up to me within MINUTES of being the store and stood right next to me as I was shopping to celebrate my promotion at work. When I turned to him, he patted my pocket and said "what's in there? I saw you put something in your pocket." He made me empty my pocket to reveal only my wallet. Then he tried to play it off casually having just embarrassed me in front of my friend. I persisted in showing him my other pocket because I felt accused and the need to prove my innocence. It was clear that I was being targeted because of my mixed race. I will never return to this location and never in my life have I get subject to this level of prejudice, especially from someone who is of color. My friends and family will now know that this is not a safe place to shop and to come here at there own risk. read more

What I love about BevMo: the selection, the friendly employees, and the prices. I'm always finding new things to try here and when I need help, there's someone around to give me directions or recommendations. The last few times in here I've asked for suggestions and tried some things I'd have overlooked otherwise (e.g. sour beer--why is this so good?!). I even managed to impress my whiskey-snob cousin with a reasonably-priced brand that one of the employees selected for me! Whoo! Bonus points: free parking in the parking lot, never crowded, good location near Beverly Center. Get the BevMo card and get some extra perks and deals like the 5 cent wine sale. The only reason this place isn't 5 stars is the condescending manner one of the employees has taken with me on a number of occasions about my selections. I don't want to be criticized and neither does anyone else. If you have suggestions, rad, I'm down to take them, but don't tell me my choices suck because I'm buying a "mainstream" wine or beer and spend 15 minutes telling me how it's "bland" or "generic." I'm sure that's why those companies make millions while grandpa joe's bathtub brew is on the bottom shelf at $23/can. I'll take my $12 12-pack with pride. read more

Really helpful salespeople at this location. They helped me find everything I needed since it can be a bit tough navigating around all the selection. Plus, they give great recommendations for the occasion and price range you're looking for. They have a parking lot but the spaces are pretty small--especially when someone in a giant SUV takes up a space-and-a-half. It's also a bit tricky exiting as you have to exit through the rear of the lot. I guess having their own parking lot is already awesome for this part of town. read more

5 stars because it's really easy to shop there. First off, they have their own parking lot with plenty of free parking that's right next to the store. It couldn't be easier. The store is clean and everything is well displayed. They use every inch of shelving. The bottom shelf is literally just barely off the floor. I had to get on my hands and knees to read the tag on an item on the bottom shelf. No biggie though. The prices are also good and the selection is excellent. They were out of one of the sale items I wanted, so I asked at the register. They called someone to check in the back and he came back with the bottle of booze I wanted and a friendly smile to go with it in just a couple minutes. The checkout was easy and friendly. I'm a fan of BevMo and its concept as a whole, but this location is the weakest I've visited so far. Remember, the whole point to them is being a liquor grocery store (in essence) - the selection is overwhelming at most locations. Here? It's fine, but my visits keep encountering empty shelves, and a selection not that much different than a larger grocery store. (There's more wine at this location than at a supermarket, of course) Oh, they have a $200 bottle of whiskey? Good for them, I suppose. If you know what you want and that they have it, go for it, but try their other locations nearby for a better experience. read more

I've come to love BevMo! And this is the location I frequent. What I love are their competitive prices, solid selection, online ordering with in store pick up and free parking lot! Because of my job I have to purchase a fair amount of alcohol and I find that their online ordering makes my life easier. I can pop on the website and see exactly what they have and the prices and my order will be ready and waiting for me when I arrive at the store. Staff is generally friendly and willing to help. They aren't the most knowledgeable about wine, so if you're a real oenophile this probably isn't the shop for you. But if you need to buy wine for a party or an event, this is the place to go. read more
