Stumbled upon this place on my way to los Angeles surprisingly nothing was open in oakland at 6 am Super cute ambiance love the culture history it provides. The food was basically small bakery items. Would've loved to see a little more food options, especially since they are open early. I would assume they draw more traffic. Service was great until it wasn't. I asked for whipped cream on my coffee which I assumed came with a Mexican mocha. You would've thought I was asking for other girls first born however, I did get some whipped cream put on a lid and then placed back on my coffee. The girl had an ugly look on her face however the girl that rang me up in the red blouse and the guy with a lime green and white blouse made my drink I believe were super nice.

I like coming here whenever I get the chance. I always get anything Mexican Chocolate related because I love it in drinks. I got a small and finished it. When I'm nearby and want coffee I always come here. They also have sufficient tables which I think people who love working at cafes would benefit from. Def recommend to try!

Perfect spot to have a work break with great horchata latte, ginger scone, and strong wi-fi.

Small Horchata Latte with whole milk (hot version)

I was early for a meeting, so decided to pop in for a coffee. Established in 2008, this is the only NorCal location of this SoCal based coffee chain, which features Latin inspired drinks. Even though the ceiling looked run down, the chandeliers, plants, wooden furniture, and Latin music made the space cozy. There was construction going on right outside, but the noise wasn't too noticeable. I saw a stack of boxes behind the register from Starter Bakery, so they probably source most (if not all) their pastries from there. There was a short line but it moved quickly and it didn't take long for me to receive my latte. Throughout the time I was there, there was a steady line of customers so it seemed like a local favorite. I ordered a small Horchata Latte with whole milk ($5.25). I asked the cashier, and he said it was on the sweeter side. He suggested 50% sweetness, which I went with. +Drinkable temperature: Hot, but doesn't burn your mouth/tongue +Not too sweet: Creamy and nutty w/cinnamon -Espresso could be stronger. -All drinks served in paper to-go cups with paper sleeves: Ceramic mugs would be a great option for people who want to stay. -No latte art Side notes: 1.) Restrooms available for customers. 2.) Outlets available 3.) Self-serve napkins and condiments 4.) Across the street from Uptown Transit Center Verdict: 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 d/t service. The cashier with a man bun was really friendly. Since the menu is just a placard next the cashier, you can't see it unless if you're there. He didn't rush anyone and told them to take their time. In addition, he asked if it was my first time (it was), offered recommendations, and thanked me after I ordered. Even though it's not the best horchata latte I've had (my fave one is in Berkeley), the friendly service and cozy vibes make me want to return the next time I'm in the area!

I recently started working down the street and am trying to find a solid coffee spot. I stopped in on a Thursday morning and was pleased to see it was poppin'. It's not quiet, so I wouldn't recommend coming here for focus work, but there's lots of seating and a few communal tables that were being used. They have a large drink menu and I got the horchata latte and two pastries. I think I would have loved the pastries warmed up, so that's my fault for saying no, but they were flavorful room temp. And I really liked the horchata latte. Prices were reasonable and I'll definitely be back!

Stopped by on a Friday morning. I have not been here in over 5 years but I'm so glad I came back today. We got the horchata lattes and they are just as delicious as I remember them to be. Definitely will be back again. They also have really good frappes as well. Kind staff, nice location and lots of seating inside and WiFi. Love supporting my local Oakland businesses :)

I got an espresso. I wouldn't go back for espresso. It had crema but the flavor was burnt and bitter, 2/5. If you're looking for espresso alone, try the place down the street kinfolx.

Tierra Mia is one of the best places to get your coffee fix! Everything here is so good including the pastries! My go-to is usually and iced vanilla coffee which is super smooth and tasty or a matcha latte! Ther service is super quick. You can mobile order for an on-the-go experience, but it does definitely get busy around lunch time! However I've never had any complaints with coming here. The ambiance is great! The interior is really chic and clean, with a good amount of space to sit- to work, have a chat, etc! Honestly love it here!

Free WiFi

Amazing vibe and coffee with wonderful customer service. I enjoy almond milk and they were able to substitute it in my order. Much appreciated!

Three Large Horchata Frappe's

Been coming here for years and they've always provided top of the line products and service that makes you want to come back for more. The Horchata Frappe tends to be their staple and the main reason my friends and I have continued to return here for nearly a decade. They also serve other coffee options and also pastries that are fresh and delivered to them daily. Environment wise this is a great location to meet others, do desk work, study, or just relax, on any given day. Parking can be an issue depending on the day and time, but regardless, it's always been worth dealing with the hassle. I will continue to come here, and I have no intention of ever stopping. 5/5.

Nice clean place to grab something on your way to work or to chill here. Delicious things to eat, and the vibe is great

Iced horchata latte

Love love love this place! I've been going to Tierra Mia Coffee since I was young, and every location is so consistently amazing. I got the horchata latte with oat milk, and the flavor was perfectly sweet and cinnamonny. I wish they had their tres leches muffin in stock when I went in because it would've made the perfect combo!

Very unique inside and open. Staff were friendly to help out with me and my order. They pastries were amazing and the coffee was incredible. I always try to visit mom and pop coffee shops when traveling for work. That's where you find the best around.

There were also some seating outside the coffee shop. Not too many but it is still available! Overall, great and friendly service, quick service, and great coffee! The interior makes one feel that you are in a high end cafe with its beautiful decor. Some many items to choose from, the person taking my order was very helpful in explaining the different kinds of drinks and pastries. Ordered the Ginger Honey Jobani as a hot drink, Biscoff Milkcake, Honeycomb, and a Beef Fatayer. There were several kinds of milkcakes which would have the texture like a tres leches cake. The Honeycomb had pockets of cream cheese and was drizzles with honey. The Meat Fatayer is like an empanada. The food and drink were very tasty.
